Waldorf Astoria Panama

We stayed here for 8 nights over Christmas. We booked through the AMEX program. They were busy so no upgrade was available. Pros: Every single employee we came across was super nice and wanted to make sure our stay went well. This was especially true of William, our waiter at breakfast, who remembered us after a couple of days and got our coffee and juice ready without us even having to ask. Also, the bartender at the pool was great and I feel bad I can’t remember his name. The rooms were clean and a decent size. Housekeeping came twice a day, for daily service and turndown service. They were a little stingy with the toilet paper but would bring it right up when we asked for it. It was in an area that we felt safe walking around. Lots of restaurants and a little market nearby. Cons: I will start with the worse, Christmas Eve dinner. We paid A LOT of money for two of us. We arrived about 15 minutes after they started serving and it was awful. Everything was cold. The turkey was so tough and cold you could hardly eat it. HIGHLY disappointing for a meal we spent so much on. The pool and hot tub were also a disappointment. The hot tub was only hot like 2 of the days we were there and you could tell the filtration system in the pool wasn’t working very well. We would sit in the hot tub (even though it was colder than the pool) simply because it was cleaner than the pool. The breakfast buffet was mediocre. While it’s not an awful hotel, next time we are in Panama we will choose to stay somewhere else.

I I am writing this review with mixed feelings. Upon check-in at the front desk as an Amex Platinum member, I experienced a two-hour wait for my room. Diane kindly offered hotel credits as compensation, which I appreciated; while I did not find it entirely sufficient, her pleasant demeanor made the situation more manageable, and I accepted the offer. ||The breakfast service was consistently excellent, thanks to Willian, who attentively anticipated our needs each morning and provided outstanding service. Additionally, Jose made us feel very welcomed throughout our stay. ||Overall, despite the initial delays, I was satisfied with my experience at the hotel.

We were here for surprise birthday and. Nye celebration. Hotel very nice!!! Service was above and beyond especially William (server) and Lillie (concierge) rooms were so nice and luxurious, great Buffett breafast. Convenient to get to casa viejo.they greeted us with champagne toast as well as next day servers sang happy birthday. Pool area was small. Nice spa! Would recommend and would stay there agsin

Our trip to Panama City was wonderful, and a large part of that was directly due to how enjoyable our stay at Waldorf Astoria Panama City was. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were warm and welcoming, and rooms were updated and clean. ||Staff: the front desk/concierge staff were all friendly and helpful. The valet were prompt in retrieving and parking cars, and the cleaning staff were extremely attentive (they left little chocolates in the evening and arranged our kids stuffies adorably after changing the sheets). The staff at the restaurant were all very kind. We were mainly helped by William, and after a day or two learned our names and coffee/juice preferences. He was very kind and welcoming to our children, as well, which we very much appreciated. ||Rooms: our room and bathroom were both very clean upon arrival and housekeeping were very accommodating in getting to our room in the afternoon if we needed to use it during the morning. The room was a good size for the configuration we got. ||Food: we only had breakfast at the hotel during our stay, but I can’t recommend this enough. Fresh fruits, an egg station, multiple types of pastries, an entire sandwich station, fresh juice and more. Also, the coffee was phenomenal. We didn’t even want to venture out for breakfast because of how delicious everything was. ||Amenities: this was the only part of our stay that didn’t exceed expectations. One minor inconvenience was the WiFi would cut out regularly, and there was at least one time that we couldn’t sign on for hours. Another issue was the gym ran out of sanitary wipes, so we weren’t comfortable using some of the equipment (bench, mats, Pilates balls, etc) during the second half of our trip. The gym was otherwise clean, and well stocked with a variety of cardio and weight training equipment, so no complaint there. ||Overall, it was a wonderful stay that deserved every one of the 5 stars I’m rating it. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Panama on November 9th to celebrate Kenzo’s birthday and our 11-year anniversary, and it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From arrival, Oliver and Wilfredo greeted us like family. Oliver, our personal concierge, went above and beyond even before we arrived. Zuri at check-in was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for an amazing stay. Special thanks to Lille, another outstanding concierge, and to William at Matiz Restaurant—he was absolutely incredible. We also want to recognize Karla, José, Yelmy, Federico, and Bunny for excellent service. Our room attendant Geselle surprised us each day with thoughtful touches. Dailin and Jose at Peacock Alley, Jafet at the pool, and Esparanza in the evening all made us feel so cared for. We also appreciated meeting the management team—Massiel, Ruben, and Julian—who genuinely took the time to connect with guests. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the entire team exceeded our expectations. Oliver and William were the highlights of our stay, but every staff member was amazing. We came as guests and left feeling like part of the Waldorf Astoria Panama family. Highly recommended!

I was definitely disappointed in the quality of this property. Not up to Waldorg standards. The room was very dated and the furniture had some wear and tear. They also smell musty. The AC is so noisy we had to turn it off. The pool gets almost no sun given the high skyscrapers in front of it. The public bathrooms have seen better days near the Matiz restaurant. The staff are a bright spot, friendly and professional.

The staff at breakfast were stellar! They were attentive, friendly, professional and excellent at providing top notch service, resulting in an excellent customer experience! William Smilth catered to our needs and remembered our specific food/beverage desires with the utmost professionalism and care. Kudos to William!

Hilton Honors Gold. Stayed 4 nights with family in October. Lovely hotel in a great location. Pool was great, gym is decent. Loved breakfast 3/4 nights we had it. Gustavo at front desk was fantastic. Mild Criticism, that I hope Management takes a note of: Housekeeping. Very erratic. On day2, noticed previous guests slippers under bed and some peanut m&ms on floor under bed. One day we left early (on a canal tour and excursion), left green service light on (at like 6:30am) and didn't return till 3pm - Room still hadn't been done. They need a better strategy. Then, next day when it was done: coffee creamers and sweeteners hadn't been replaced. It's not a deal breaker or any reason not to give a 5, but I hope they look at this. Otherwise, RECOMMEND.
