Chicken restaurants move aside. This place is serving it up like fine art. This was my first time of many visiting this establishment. The place is clean, friendly, 5 TV’s on, the bar is tucked nicely off to the side from where you order the food. The food, a simple chicken tender sandwich with the sauce, pickles, and a perfectly toasted bun. Side of coleslaw which is the best coleslaw I’ve tasted to date. Try it, no regrets!

Google
Waldo’s Chicken is always a hit! The Fowl Mouth chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Chicken Scratch salad was fresh, well-balanced, and super satisfying. And don’t skip the wings—the rocket sauce is perfection. We love Waldo’s Chicken and can’t wait to come back for more!

Google
Some of the best chicken tenders I’ve had anywhere! Just the right amount of kick, heat, spice, whatever word you want to use. Friendly staff. Great artwork, love it.

Google
I really love Waldo’s! I think they have some of the best chicken in town. Everything is good here - the chicken tenders, the chicken PLT, the chicken scratch salad (with honey mustard!) and especially the cheddar biscuits with honey butter! The restaurant is great - you order at the counter and then can sit outside on the porch (it’s dog friendly!) or inside or at the bar. They’ve always got tv’s on with a game or two. Also a great choice for takeout too. They’ve got curbside parking spots out front that are clutch.

Google
We usually stop here anytime we travel through Nashville if we aren't rerouted due to traffic. Easy in and out with ample parking. Super moist friend chicken thigh sandwich. Natural cut fries were great. Mac n cheese is good and the mini cheddar muffins were a nice add.

Google
Chicken: 7/10 good texture and good crunch but pretty bland. also why is it spicy?????? they didn't tell me it would be spicy Coleslaw: 4/10 BLANDD the only flavor I taste is sweetness. wayy too sweet. Coleslaw and Chicken: 0/10 by far the worst chicken and coleslaw out of all the restaurants I've tried (only 6). I just kept trying to like it. I gave it 2, 3, 4, 5 chances, failed every time. I am so utterly disappointed. I'm ashamed I even wanted to eat it. I will never be returning to waldo's Chicken and beer unless it's for french fries and $5 frozen margarita

Google
I came here for lunch to get a salad. The only salad without nuts according to the posted menu was the Cobb Cobb Salad. I have a nut allergy, so I ordered it without tomatoes because I’m allergic to those too. It wasn’t until I got back to work and had eaten a few bites that I realized it had nuts in it. When I tried to call them twice, no one answered the phone. The online menus says the salad comes with nuts, but the posted menu did not. This is dangerous and misleading. Now, I’m praying I don’t have a reaction to this food.

Google
Waldo’s is easily one of the best spots for chicken. The tenders are full of flavor with the perfect crispy breading, and their honey mustard is next-level good. On top of that, they validate 90 minutes of free parking, which makes eating here even better. Great food, no stress. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was in town for work and staying nearby. I needed to feed 10 people quickly as we had been out running around town all day and were starving. I was able to place our order online fairly quickly and easily. The food was ready and available to be picked up when it said it would be. Everyone loved their food. A lot of people ordered the chicken tender plate. The breading was light and they were perfectly cooked. We all thought it was a great portion size and enjoyed the sauce selections. Someone ordered the Foul Mouth sandwich and said it had the perfect amount of heat. Two people ordered the white beans and that was the only thing I heard a complaint about and it was only because there was chopped white onions on top (and that wasn't mentioned on the menu). One person was allergic to onions so they couldn't eat them at all and would have chosen a different side. The other person said onions weren't their favorite and they overpowered the beans making all of it taste like onions. I think both people would have otherwise liked the beans sans onions. Two people ordered fire roasted chicken and they said it was delicious but felt the portion size of the chicken was a bit small. Next time they'd probably just get the largest portion size which I think was 1/2 chicken rather than the quarter. At first they thought they were shorted a meal because the chicken was so small. Overall everyone loved their food and a few people were up for eating it again the next day. It's definitely going in my Nashville food places to eat.

Yelp
This place is always a good idea for lunch every single time. Do yourself a favor and get the collard greens. They're not just good. They're SOUTHERN good. Delicious and flavorful! While the food is delicious, I keep coming back because the staff is always attentive, the location is clean, and I've never had to wait long for food.

Yelp
I couldn't believe the value for the quality of the food here! The menu prices felt like they were in the 2010s, very refreshing for a city. There is a ton of seating inside and outside, and the service was friendly and quick. They make great chicken and fries, I'll definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Our food tour took us here and we were served hot chicken tenders....I am sorry but I stopped eating chicken tenders when I was 12 ( that was the tours fault and the review they deserved). Never the less the spice and texture of their chicken is dam good. Wish I could have had bone in chicken as it looked great. Fantastic gooey mac and cheese. Hella good muffin Great selection of suds I still much prefer Hattie B's ...yeah I know they are so commercial now but the original location is just the bee's Knees

Yelp
Waldo's is one of my favorite fast casual spots in Nashville! Their food is always fresh and well made. They have the one salad that always has fresh ingredients and feels like it was made right as you order! Their chicken is well seasoned is delicious on or off a salad. Staff here is friendly and attentive!

Yelp
Ohhhhhhh my this place was fantastic! Located in a strip with several other places to get food this restaurant was a definite food highlight of our trip. I ordered the large chicken strip meal with potato wedges and the macaroni and cheese I had two dipping sauces- jalapeño ranch and habanero oil. Both of the sauces were so good. The habanero oil is quite spicy as one would imagine. I only wish the ranch would have been in a bigger size. The food is seasoned and cooked perfectly. My potato wedges were the perfect mix of crispy on the outside while maintaining a softer center. The chicken here is a star! Excellent in every way. I was so happy in its flavor and overall presentation/preparation. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The only foreseeable issue is finding a parking spot.

Yelp
The chicken was amazing and would recommend it over Hattie B's. Then again Hattie B's is a little overrated. The service was good and the decide makes you smile with all the musicians with there own cocks in the picture, especially Ozzy eating his cock. Would recommend stopping and having some chicken and a brew.

Yelp
Waldo's IMO is better than Hatti B's and Prince's chicken. If you don't want the crowd's or the looonnnggg lines hit Waldo's in Germantown! We all enjoyed it so much we ordered more!

Yelp
My Wife and I and our kid came here for dinner while on a Spring Break vacation and we are so glad we did. I will start off by saying we were gonna try David's Burgers right down the road but some genius decided to have a car show in the smallest parking lot in the city, so by what we can only describe as divine intervention we ended up here. My Wife and I both agreed the Chicken strips here were absolutely without a doubt probably the best ones we have ever had and we have eaten ALOT of different chicken strips in our lives. To make it better the provided sauces were amazing. The service was also fantastic. We each got a cheddar biscuit with our meals and HOLY SCHNIKIES it was delicious. When we told the manager about how delicious they were and that this was our 1st trip here he brought us out 6 additional cheddar biscuits free of charge. Now that is service. The only thing I can say is that the next time we are anywhere near this place we WILL drive out of our way to get here for this delicious food and spot-on service.

Yelp
Super pumped to have Waldo's Chicken & Beer in Germantown, especially with such a cool and well located and mapped out location! This particular Waldo's shares a small strip with two other food vendors, one dessert and the other Italian. It sits a block from Christie Cookies and across the way from Neighbors and First Horizon Park. So, it is a great location to grab a quick bite or a beer at before heading to a Sounds Game or to wander around Germantown! The space, as mentioned, is stellar for a Waldo's. It is fully open-air with garage style doors separating the inside and outside, which is a covered patio that features a TV and is dog friendly. While there is a bar inside, for the beer, ya know...it does not have any seats like their other locations...so no bellying up to the bar for tenders and beer here. However, you got plenty of other seating options! While parking is not plentiful, I do appreciate the small dedicated lot that features 90 minutes free. If you are not lucky enough to snag a spot right in front, there are several other paid lots nearby and quite a bit of street parking as well. Overall, solid Waldo's spot that is definitely on the rotation when the craving for tenders and beer strikes!

Yelp
When you walk into Waldo's you'll know you're in the right place, from the smell. You order at the counter, take a table and a seat, then wait in suspense. The portion sizes are good and the chicken is meaty. I enjoyed the chicken wings a small bit more than the tenders, but both were good and would order again. The wedges are good, "meaty" but still crispy. The star of the show besides the wings were the cheddar biscuits!! Oh my, I don't know if I caught a fresh batch or if they're always like that but I will most definitely be back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
The parking lot is dare I say dangerous to get into given the structure. I'd highly recommend parking in the adjacent parking lot. I won't be going back to eat. The restroom was in distress. My order had items left off, for which I, of course was charged and the food portions were small and just not good. The chicken wings themselves were clearly old and dry. The beer was fantastic. I did get a good laugh from a water to-go being in a red solo cup that actually had a lid. I didn't know such a thing existed. I will say that many seemed to be regulars so do with that what you will. Maybe it was an off day and I ordered the wrong thing. Ambiance is typical for a fast casual.

Yelp
I came here on a whim on a Saturday night. It wasn't crowded with just a few occupied tables and cars in the drive thru line. We got the foul mouth sandwich with fries, tenders with wedges, and cheddar biscuit basket. After ordering, the food came out in maybe 5 minutes max. It was so fast I couldn't believe it. I really enjoyed the foul mouth sandwich and fries. It wasn't too spicy for me. I don't usually like slaw but theirs was enjoyable. My boyfriend got the tenders and wedges. He said they were pretty regular and there was nothing special about it. The cheddar biscuits could have used more cheddar.

Yelp
My buddy would not stop talking about how Waldo's is his favorite gem in town so naturally, I had to give it a try. And boy, it is GOOD. REAL GOOD. Not exactly a 'hole in the wall' but it is a comfortable, chill spot with some insanely good food. I wish I could have tried all of the sauces but I guess I'll just have to keep coming back :) I got a huge salad with fried chicken (duh) and it was mouthwatering. The guys got some awesome chicken sandwiches and I wish I could have indulged but I wasn't hungry enough this time. Extra crispy. Extra flavorful. Great sauces. Great dishes. Easy. You really can't beat it.

Yelp
We try both the Franklin and Germantown Waldo's. This we try to smush the too together as the food offering, quality, and service were very consistent between the two. Which in itself is a plus. The locations couldn't be more different. Franklin is in a strip center. Nice, modern, quick serve restaurant in a strip center. Germantown is also newer, but a full sit down restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It has that new Nashville vibe. And new Nashville prices. The chicken is of high quality, fried, and delish. They've found the right type of batter. Light. You get an ample portion and the standard array of sauces from bland to very hot or so we read. Everyone's spice tolerance is different. We found the sweet and spicy about mid-way up the scale to be both, but the spice was more flavorful than hot. The potato wedges are great. The rest of sides like Cole slaw and Mac were 'alright.' Both places were clean. The staff was more than accommodating. Really good service. They have single person gender neutral bathrooms. With a sign 'we don't care which one you use- just wash your hands.' Something of note in the current climate in TN.

Yelp
Delicious. These guys do chicken fingers right. Crispy, juicy and delicious. I have been there twice- once the fingers were perfect- the next time not quite as good but tasty. Just went a 3rd time and the fingers were spot on. Best I've had in the city. Much better than Chicken Guy downtown and slightly better than McDougle's. All of the sauces are good and it has a nice vibe and outdoor seating. Give it a try for good chicken. One of my go to's in Nashville!
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
I had tried their mouthwatering Fowl Mouth Sandwich yesterday at a Yelp Elite event and the chicken was so good that I was craving for more. This time we got the 1/2 Fried Chicken Plate with a biscuit, fries and Mac and Cheese as well as a Fruit Tea. And a Chicken Tender combo to go. After tasting the regular Fried Chicken, I realized that what makes the Fowl Mouth Sandwich absolutely phenomenal is the combination of the Habanero Oil and Jalapeno coleslaw on the chicken sandwich. But just 1 sandwich is not enough so hopefully Waldo's comes up with a Double Fowl Mouth Sandwich cos that's probably the most addictive chicken sandwich I've ever had.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the customer service here. The manager/owner greeted us right away and talked with us as if we had been friends. Food was good and environment is friendly! My only somewhat negative feedback would be the volume of the music. It's overwhelming whether you're sitting inside or out. I've always thought that restaurant music should flow and complement the entire experience, not drown out conversation with friends which is why we're there in the first place. Overall, loved this place. We've been back twice now.

Yelp
Favorite chicken shack in Nashville. The service is great. You can tell the safe cares and wants to provide quality service. The hot chicken sandwich is so flavorful they nailed it. Also get the biscuits. Keep it up Waldo's!
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in town! Food is always delicious, service is always friendly, and the restaurant always has patrons without feeling "too busy." There are multiple TVs around the restaurant as well as an impressive dog-friendly patio. I ended up camping out in a booth this year for the 2024 Super Bowl and had a great time. Waldo's will continue to be in my regular restaurant rotation!

Amy N.

Yelp
SO GOO!!! the chicken is juicy and tender with a good crunch on the outside. Comeback sauce, and Alabama sauce were awesome. Everything on the chicken nachos is made from scratch, including the queso and the chips. Staff is lovely, worth the trip.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
This place used to be a lot better when they sold loaded Mac. We come here all the time for lunch and dinner, it's great in a pinch and it's rarely full of you want to watch the game on TV while you eat. For my OG sandwich, they were out of chicken thighs so they had to sub it with chicken tendies and it made the sandwich messy and challenging to hold together. It looks really sad with wilty lettuce but it was a decent sandwich. Pro-tip, order it with Waldo's sauce and coleslaw otherwise the sandwich is dry as the Sahara. The staff members are friendly and quick to correct any issues. My name is not Amber, but that's what they named my order, which causes confusion when it was ready. They need to bring back the Loaded Mac N Cheese, it was the best thing in the menu so idk why they got rid if it. I'd give it a 3.5 but they get 4 stars because the staff and service are great.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Writing as I eat, it's THAT good! Did some recon on my flight over on where to get a hot chicken sandy that wasn't Hattie Bs and Waldo's came up (along with Prince and Balton). It did not disappoint. Got the spicy chicken sandwich which was just the right amount of heat and a side of Mac and cheese. It'd say sandy 5/5 and Mac and cheese 4.5/5. Then got a side of biscuits which came with 6. They are smaller but enough to share, another 5/5 paired with the butter.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was so cute and so tasty! The staff was super friendly and very helpful when there was a slight mistake to our order and the food was very reasonably priced for how much we got!
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
This place has some really good and juicy chicken! I have had the chicken tenders multiple times and highly recommend the tender and rooster sauces. The best side is the potato wedges! They are so crispy and seasoned to perfection. I had the basic chicken sandwich last time I was there, and it was made with a thick piece of thigh meat. It also had some of the best pickles I have ever had in a sandwich. If you love pickles order extra! The service is always nice and quick! There patio has a good amount of seating and is dog friendly. They also have surprisingly good margaritas.

Sam J.

Yelp
Good food and quality product . Friendly counter service . Clean and easy parking too . Will go back soon !
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
This is the only chicken I've had in Nashville, and while it was quite tasty, i'm doubting it's the best there is. I ordered the OG with a side of BBQ, which I'm glad I did because it comes without sauce. It was a good sandwich but arrived looking pretty bland. The Mac and cheese was really good, and I'm glad I followed the staff rec of getting the white beans side -- totally delicious. Super well seasoned and flavorful. They forgot to serve my beer but when I got it, it was ice cold and delish. All in all, a satisfying lunch!
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
Great food! I always thought "chicken strips are just chicken strips"... ha! Whatever they use for spices in the breading is fantastic. They offer 6 or more sauces but they're chicken doesn't need any sauce. Coke slaw, fries, Mac and cheese, etc all sides are great!
google avatar

Nikhil R.

Yelp
IMPORTANT! Parking is free for 1 hour. Park in the parking lot and get a free 1 hour ticket from the pay machine! I am so glad I got to come out here. I have wanted to come here for several years, but never made it out, however during the hot chicken week that Nashville always puts on, this restaurant was participating. Their hot chicken sandwich was really flavorful with a spicy jalapeño mango sauce. Yes, it isn't what you expect for authentic hot chicken, but it tasted great. The staff were friendly, and the space is really big. Even have an outdoor patio with plenty of heaters so that you don't feel cold. I would definitely come here again in the future.
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
I've been to Waldo's twice, this time doing curbside pickup. Parking is a little tight in this area, but since they had designated spots for curbside it made it so much easier. As for the food, I really enjoyed my sandwich! I ordered "The Roost" and the chicken wasn't dry at all! As a side item I chose the macaroni and cheese which was delicious as well. I wish there was more white bbq sauce on the sandwich, but I just like my sandwiches heavy on sauce. I will suggest eating this for lunch and not dinner because I finished the meal feeling a bit hungry. Or, I'd suggest adding an additional side item.
google avatar

Yelp
Waldo's has been on my radar for quite some time, and this year's Hot Chicken Week seemed like a fitting chance to give it a try. In honor of the aforementioned Hot Chicken Week, I of course had to order Waldo's featured menu item, the Fowl Mouth hot chicken sandwich. The sandwich includes a sizable fried chicken thigh, spicy habanero oil, a thick slice of cheddar cheese, jalapeño cole slaw, mayo and comeback sauce on a toasted bun. The sandwich was larger than I anticipated, largely due to the massive chicken thigh (much larger than the other sandwich ordered at my table). I'm admittedly not a huge fan of chicken thigh meat, mostly due to the texture, so the meat itself was a little tough to eat. However, the long list of other flavors on top of the chicken made for a tasty sandwich. I didn't find the sandwich to be too hot, but I do have a high heat/spice tolerance. The cole slaw (even with its jalapeño flavor) did a great job of helping to offset the heat. The side of shoestring fries were good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, I was pleased with my meal. The service was fast and everyone was very friendly. I'm not sure I'll rush back, but when I do return I'll definitely try some of their non-thigh offerings.
google avatar

mary a.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken tender sandwich with mac and cheese. I had them put some jalapeño slaw for a little kick. It was delicious. The service is great. The ambiance is a rustic feeling. Lots of TV's. I recommend this place. We were in town for the Auburn game.
google avatar

Jayden H.

Yelp
Best chicken around! Stopped here on the way back home on our road trip. The gentleman at the register, wasn't the most friendly, kept repeatedly cutting us off when trying to give details to our order. But This was the best chicken I've probably ever had! I got the chicken scratch salad, with the fried chicken, no tomatoes & no almonds. It was amazing, I almost want to drive the 8 hours to get it again sometimes
google avatar

Victor F.

Yelp
Food was great. Place was slammed.Staff were on point. There was a bald headed man running all over helping people. It was awesome. Great service we will be back.
google avatar

Sidney Z.

Yelp
I have fried chicken once in a blue moon! I figure, at my age "deep fried" anything can not be super healthy for me; but I also figure anything in moderation (including moderation) is the best way to live my life. So, I'm heading north tomorrow back to Chicago and I have my farewell dinner tonight with my son. He lives in the Germantown section of Nashville and suggested fried chicken for my Bon Voyage dinner. We go over to Waldo's Chicken and Beer and grabbed a table and ordered up. I had a 1/2 fried chicken with cole slaw and a mixed green salad with Italian dressing. My son had chicken tenders, french fries and white beans. Everything was very good! I felt a tad guilty eating this cuisine, but I got over it easily as I really enjoyed licking my fingers.
google avatar

Sherreese D.

Yelp
Love it! The food and drinks are good. I found out about this place from my job. We have gatherings and order food from here.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
Counter girls were seriously...complete idiots. No idea on the menu, no idea on the wifi password. No idea how to use the cash register. No idea on what beers were on tap. Complete and total disaster in every way. 100 percent clueless on the vital things in their own establishment. How is this possible? I asked what Blackstone beer was it that they had on tap? "I don't know." How hot is the hot chicken? "I don't know." Is it super hot or just kinda hot, what? "I have no idea." Dude...I'm there to eat and drink, but if you can't answer basic questions about your menu etc. and you're the customer point person, what am I to do? I should've asked for a manager. I just guessed on everything and ordered anyhow and sure enough, they couldn't pour a decent beer either. Won't be going back to this place.
google avatar

Meg F.

Yelp
Went to the Liberty Pike location before a concert. Service was A+. Food was amazing! It's a fun atmosphere. I had the Freebird Club, fried pickles, and pineapple cider.
google avatar

Perry M.

Yelp
The best fried chicken I've ever eaten. No exaggeration. I've got some personal favorites that hold spots in my heart, including my mom's pan fried...but Waldo's now reigns supreme. I have the 1/4 dark fries with collards (which as I think about it, may also be the best I've ever had) and potato wedges. And the have WiseAcre Tiny Bomb on tap so I had to. At the end I was gnawing the bones like a pound dog. Great place. Rock on.
google avatar

Cissy W.

Yelp
Still good after all this time! Beer and chicken, nice location. Wonderful outside dining option! Winner!
google avatar

Natalie N.

Yelp
I will say, the food looks really pretty when you get it. But the actual taste was not too great. The chicken tasted of pickles....I guess that's what they brine it in and they were disgustingly soggy/mushy. I probably should've gotten chicken tenders because maybe then it would've been crispier...? The potato wedges are huge but when they get served to you half done and the potato is still raw on the inside and not seasoned whatsoever it's not great. The ranch is bland, the tender sauce taste like Mayo/bbq (nothing special). I would love for this place to be good since I work so close to it but it's just not worth it in my opinion. The whole meal was $18 so really steep for what you get and especially the taste I got. The biscuits save the meal but maybe just don't go at lunch when they rush the food out. I'd rather waited and got fully cooked food.
google avatar

Tommy B.

Yelp
Waldo's has amazing food and at a reasonable price. In love with whatever spices are in the breading. The buffalo sauce was great, perfect amount of kick. The tender sauce was decent, it's like a standard fry sauce.
google avatar

Sydney B.

Yelp
This place was great! Ordered through a delivery service to our hotel and arrived fresh and still hot. We got the tenders in medium spice. Chicken was super crispy and juicy with good flavor. It seemed like a very mild medium flavor to me. Could have easily gone up, so if you want a kick go for hot. The cheesy biscuits with the butter are perfectly craveable. Husband loved the fries. The white bbq sauce was so interesting! It was tangy and peppery. I've honestly never tried a sauce similar before; I would definitely recommend trying it. The slaw was good with a mild sweet flavor. Mac and cheese was very solid. Overall we were very glad we picked here to order from and we would order here again.

Yelp
Fast, friendly service with great chicken: salad rocked and so does the sandwich. Two for one on tap Sundays cannot be beat.

Yelp
Waldo's Chicken and Beer GermanTown. Menu items include: Boneless Chicken, Chicken Fingers, Fire Roasted Chicken (on or off the bone). collar greens, potatoes wedges and mac and cheese. Yum. The fried chicken has a little KICK just enough to bring you back for another delicious bite. Salad are my favorite, topped with fried or Rotisserie Chicken. The lemon vinaigrette dressing is everything! The restaurant offers a wide variety of beer on tap and in bottles, mixed and frozen drinks too. If alcohol is not your cup of tea... get the FRUIT TEA it's SOOOOO good and refreshing. Great place for gathering with friends. Dog friendly Patio. *Parking is free for 1hour. BE SURE TO GET YOUR TICKET AFTER PARKING.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a local of Nashville. They highly recommended the chicken and the comeback sauce so I was extremely excited to try the food. The good part was that the beer on tap was ice cold which I love. The people working there were great. I even liked the sauce. The food left much to be desired though. I ordered the quarter chicken that is supposedly in brine for 24 hours. This chicken has zero flavor. None! Stick with the beer and sides.

Yelp
Waldos is the best, their service is unmatched and the food is incredible. The staff member working tonight went above and beyond to make my day better when I had a very minor complaint. Would recommend Waldo's to anyone
