Google
"opne 24hrs" but never willing to use the registers at night? i was a cashier for years i know damn well yalls registers arent "down" as often as you claim. sounds like a lazy excuse to give poor customer service. why would yall even let someone walk in and shop around without telling them that the registers are down? employees are also typically extrememly rude, and one of them seems to smell terrible of BO/ A locker room every time i see them. you guys need better standards for customer satisfaction.

Catalina S.

Google
I’m very disappointed with the service at this Walgreens. The staff consistently come across as rude and unhelpful, which makes every visit unpleasant. It really seems like most of them dislike their jobs, and that attitude shows in how they treat customers. It’s unfortunate because this location is very convenient for me — otherwise, I’d gladly go elsewhere. Honestly, the employees at the post office are far friendlier and more professional than the ones here.

Paul S.

Google
This store consistently gets worse it starts and ends with random people sitting in the dark under the trees in the parking lot it's very scary. They're smoking and eating and lighting little fires on the ground. Employees are greeting their friends celebrating and leading way over the counters into the cash register areas. Just laughing and having a really good time stopping by to see all their good friends that work there. Simultaneously homeless people with all their belongings are loading up shopping carts with all their belongings to come in and do their shopping. Covid is surging again and a drugstore with a filthy entrance overflowing trash cans out front spilled food and drinks all over the ground surrounding the front door. I said hello to the cashier and he couldn't hear me because of his earbuds. He also didn't make eye contact with me at all. I try not to go to this Walgreens anymore but I live very close to it and sometimes it is necessary. It is now basically a public health hazard. I feel sorry for the people that have to work in the pharmacy. Why are they allowed to stay open if they can't even meet basic Public Health codes at the front door? Can you imagine what the merchandise is covered with?

Jade G.

Google
The worst Walgreens I’ve ever been to! Guaranteed to have homeless people sitting right outside. Never stocked with products. Employees are slow and don’t have very good customer service. I intentionally use a pharmacy further away from my house because the service is terrible at the pharmacy as well. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Sarahbeth B.

Google
Walgreens headquarters should be ashamed of themselves. Their employees are CONSTANTLY in harms way, and Walgreens is too cheap to hire a security officer to protect them. They are being screamed at by unhoused/mentally unstable people, dealing with endless theft, all while trying to help paying customers whilst navigating INCREDIBLY dangerous situations. I’ve been coming to this location for eight years, and I can’t remember the last time my visit was peaceful. Those employees need and DESERVE to have 24:7 ARMED security at this location. Absolutely unreal.

Google
Maybe the biggest S show I've ever seen in a pharmacy in my life. They lost my prescription apparently while this person scrambled around all through the store rifling through cases trying to find it. What appeared to be the main pharmacist asks if we're almost done since she needs to use the cash register, instead of noticing there is obviously a problem and helping. I said maybe you could help us since my prescription is lost. She kind of goes oh yeah I could try to do that. Then she literally says to me I got my fingers crossed i can find it. This is supposed to be a professional, those words should never leave your mouth. After that she appears to forget all about it and gets busy doing other things while the person finally finds it. No apology. She did thank me for my patience and I'm surprised she has the content of character to even manage that. While walking out of the store one of the other super professional pharmacy workers is standing in the doorway exit blocking it completely, apparently looking at some car getting towed outside (maybe his?) I said excuse me since I clearly couldn't leave without him moving, he just looked at me as if I was inconveniencing him. No sorry again. Just really pathetic this is the best you can do Walgreens? The outside of the store is absolute trash as well. Pathetic

Sherlyne R.

Google
First time at this walgreens and i was in a rush to buy my things because i was in the middle of my shift at work and the cashier Reyna was very sweet was there to help me find what i needed. So sweet and respectful give props to her! Definitely coming back soon!

I’ve had great experiences multiple times at the pharmacy here. Better than cvs locations nearby

Yelp
Honestly a horrible Walgreens - I've never had a positive experience here, but I truly don't believe anyone who works at this location cares. You can nearly guarantee any visit you have to make for either their pharmacy or for vaccines will become an unfortunate multi-hour event with no end in sight. As you begin to lose hope and scroll through past reviews, you will see the same themes repeated over and over. If you are limited on time you would be better served driving to a much further Walgreens (or any other pharmacy if insurance allows) for a potentially better, less time-intensive experience than this one. I would say I was disappointed in our most recent 1+ hour flu shot experience but at this point I don't know why I'm even surprised.

Yelp
The pharmacy department is an absolute mess. They told us they didn't have my medication and to come back the next day when we asked if there was another location that had it they said never mind and to back in 10 minutes. We come back in 10 minutes - we then waited for 20 minutes without anybody answering the window so I had to go inside in pain to ask for my prescription and everybody seemed confused and a hot mess. Terrible

Nancy L.

Yelp
Horrible experience at Walgreens at 7929 Kirby Dr A, Houston, TX 77054, USA. I am an elderly woman, here from out of town for appointments at the cancer hospital, MD Anderson. I inadvertently did not pack my pain medication, so my doctor ordered just a few extra to act as a stopgap until I got home. On Tuesday when I went to this Walgreens to pick it up, I was told that this very common medication was not in stock at at this pharmacy located in Houston medical District. The next day when they were supposed to have it, I went to pick it up, and the pharmacist refused to give it to me because he said he needed to speak to my doctor, even though my doctor (who had left his office for the day) had ordered it. When I pointed out that his arbitrary, unreasonable refusal to give me the very few prescribed pills I doomed me to another night of agony, he was unconcerned and dismissive. Unbelievable and unconscionable behavior! I wish I had the option to leave zero stars. This place should not be in business.

Yelp
I encountered the grossest restrooms at our local neighborhood pharmacy. What does that tell you about a place? I don't think this has been cleaned in years.

Yelp
I want to start by saying.... Shame on me for waiting until now to leave this review! I have been coming to this Walgreens religiously for years, ESP after work for late night snacks, pet products, cold meds, face wash... the list goes on and on. I LOVE their photo dept too! My pics are ALWAYS ready insanely quick! The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The kind officer at the front door all hours of the night is ready to greet me after a lonnng bartending shift, with a warm welcome and a smile on her face. Charlie, the manager, works the late shift, as I do, and is extremely knowledgeable, warm, friendly and funny! He is great at multi tasking, and always full of energy and willing and ready to help you find a hard-to-find item. He goes above and beyond for his loyal Walgreens shoppers and anyone else that walks through the door! He greets me by name, and such a kind soul. He's a keeper Walgreens! Y'all are lucky to have an awesome, caring manager, like Charlie!!

Yelp
Not to be confused with Warmgreens, which is a different store where the AC doesn't work. This is one of the Walgreens that we regularly go to. They usually have stuff and for the most part it's been a good experience. As opposed to the one on Shepherd, where we were followed around and Barbie was accused of stealing something once. Still overall it's been a good Walgreens and Barbie likes coming here on a regular basis and they usually have what we need.

Yelp
You will be gouged! Went to get some listerine. This was the only location omw home from work that was open at that hour. The 50oz was $12.49!! You money suckers are robbing the surrounding community with these type of prices. I went to HEB the next day, and purchased THE EXACT SAME PRODUCT for $7.98. Walgreens on Montrose, I kindly request that you go to hades with these prices, please and thank you.
google avatar

George A.

Yelp
They actually helped me out. Found there was a glitche and in their computer system. Good to call and find out your order is correct before going to pick up at the pharmacy.
google avatar

Max H.

Yelp
if you have 30 minutes plus to waste every time you come in then this Walgreens Montrose pharmacy location is for you! Always a wait in line and staff in no rush to assist. Antiquated systems in place (it appears) and staff move slowly with zero interest in efficiency and customer service. Dirty building and parking lot as well. Avoid if you can!
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
This Walgreens CONSISTENTLY misinforms me about the status of my prescriptions and I've never been able to pick it up in a timely fashion. Since I have moved to the area, I've lapsed in my medication every. single. time. The pharmacists are overworked and their phones suck. If this weren't the only in-network option I had close by, I would never use them again.
google avatar

Kenneth F.

Yelp
For the second night in a row the Pharmacy hung up on me after putting me on hold for over an hour. I understand it's a busy location, it always has been. After 15 years with them I'm changing pharmacies.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
I like the shopping online and pickup service without getting out the car! They are also a place for FedEx shipping drop off.
google avatar

Craig V.

Yelp
Don't come to the pharmacy before their lunch break at 1:30. We had a vaccine booster appt at 1:00 but when we got our shot it was 1:30. The issue is that the pharmacist was visibly pissed that we were eating into his lunch time. When he gave each of us our shots, he rushedly JABBED it into our arms and even made my fiance bleed a stream of blood down her arm. He even missed my injection site with the band-aid, completely putting it on the wrong part of my shoulder . Awful.

Yelp
This updated review is strictly for their pharmacy- if you do attempt to come here, make sure you have plenty of time and are not rushing to go anywhere. This pharmacy is always busy and unfortunately slow. I know they have to process everything through insurance and that definitely influences timing but still, it's just painful having to wait here. I made an appointment for a vaccine and there was nobody in line ahead of me. It still took me 25 minutes to actually receive my vaccine from the time I checked in. Luckily the people that work the pharmacy are pleasant. Also, if you plan to come here for a covid vaccine- be sure to make an appointment online because they are currently not accepting walk ins (as of 10/09/2021 but I'm sure that may change in the future).

Yelp
TERRIBLE! The pharmacy is filled with a bunch of liars, who will tell you anything just to get you out the way. They told me a 20 minute wait but didnt think I would stick around to get it. It took an hour plus! One of the pharmacist said he's not going to keep apologizing for lying !! Wtf!? Then the lady behind the counter was talking about me as I stood at the desk. Overall terrible experience they clearly have no idea what they're doing.

Skylife I.

Yelp
Horrible management. The pharmacy is pretty manageable but this manager harassed me even after I told her I was not a person she thought I was and continued to follow me through the store. I'll be taking this up with her upper management.

Katie P.

Yelp
Pharmacy at this location has to be one of the worst. I'm not sure if they are short staffed or not but every time I come to this location to pick up my prescription, it feels like they don't have anyone employed. They never pick up any phone calls and will let the line continue to ring forever. I also have sat in their drive thru line for nearly an hour waiting to pick up my prescription. They let the line pile up and pretty much convinces me there is either only one person working or no one at all. I am writing this review as I sit in the drive thru waiting for someone to assist me -- I will not be filling my prescriptions here anymore.

Yelp
Another Walgreens stop for me. This store was clean and cashier was very friendly. However bathrooms need work and even though I walked in circles and stood at a locked case I was never asked if I needed help by floor crew (there were several employees around).

Rainey H.

Yelp
Truly the worst pharmacy I've ever visited. So slow. So rude. So unprofessional. I have waited for extended periods of time to get my prescription and can see the techs not working or attending to customer needs.

Chloe U.

Yelp
This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. They openly made fun of my race when they thought I was out of ear range. They don't check messages left by doctors and consistently overcharge for prescriptions that have price reduction coupons that are honored at Walgreens locations. Avoid at all costs. Most of The staff is condescending and uncaring.

Susanna B.

Yelp
Do not use drive thru!!! It is the worst. Had to wait 40 minutes in drive thru. I was trapped between 2 cars. Called store ... no one cared. I wish my insurance did not force me to use walgreens
google avatar

Summer M.

Yelp
Extremely inefficient drive thru line. After waiting 15 minutes I ended up in the outer lane, and the car behind me ended up at the window. But they serviced the car at the window before me. Super frustrating. Also I had the order prepaid through the app and they couldn't figure it out. Ended up wasting even more time!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
This drugstore was open at 3 am when I needed it and I'm grateful. One star deducted for having to wait for a cashier to show up. Security guard was nice. Very conveniently located, too.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
The Pharmacy and pharmacist at this location are awful. The pharmacist is rude and could care less about your health or helping you in any way. The woman proves to care more about her break than actually serving customers. Take your business to any other location. This one should be closed.

Dara K.

Yelp
This pharmacy has been an absolute nightmare every single time I've used them. It always takes days to get my prescriptions. Half the time they say they don't accept my insurance when they definitely do. I have to call my insurance company to get them to call themselves. Staff is rude and unknowledgeable. Yesterday I asked the pharmacist what time they closed while trying to get my prescription and was told 10; however my doctor tried to contact them at 6 PM about the prescription they claimed to have not received and they were closed. I'm still trying to get that prescription filled. Been on hold for an hour. I'm just trying to get one pill. It's been 22 hours and counting.
google avatar

Heidi P.

Yelp
For a place that claims to be on the corner of happy and healthy, this place is pretty nasty. The staff was very friendly but the bathroom is disgusting. See pictures for reference.

Andrew Y.

Yelp
Waiting in line for a prescription antibiotic for 20 mins. I was next in line and the last person in line at 1:30, instead of helping me out get my medication to get out of there. They told me it's their lunch break and proceeded to shut their door on my face and told me they will open up in a half hour.
google avatar

Farrah A.

Yelp
Okay, so let me re-write this review. CVS is my drug-store of choice, but this Walgreens has sales on falsies - and a colorful section too (hello, it's Montrose). It's also on the way to my usual stops, so it's convenient for me. Check-out is much faster than the Montrose CVS too. Come to think of it. why do I even go to CVS? Ah, the coupons. They've got a Chase ATM, too. I avoid late night visits because there are always homeless people or loitering druggies in the parking lot. The homeless people are harmless; they just want your spare change or whatever cash pulled out from the ATM. However, the few druggies I've encountered are pretty scary. Especially since this parking lot is usually empty (ahem, no witnesses)
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
The other bad reviews say it all, the pharmacy staff make the customer do all the work. I had to work for days to get clarification on very simple instructions on one script - promises of call back never occurred. AND, I just went to get a prescription filled a few days early and waited in a single file line six people deep and when I got to checkout I was told I needed a copy of my vacation itinerary to get my script filled a few days early. No one told me this was needed, and I leave tomorrow morning.
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
I wish Walgreens would open more 24 he pharmacies. I was literally handed off to three or four employees everytime I called. It was bad enough I drove thirty minutes just to get to the Atascocita location but then they tell me it will be an hour and a half for my son's script to be ready. Then an hour later I get a text and phone call saying it is delayed. So I need to call the dentist then she can call the insurance and then to call the Walgreens and let them know if it is approved. Wait so what do you do twiddle your thumbs? This is why I left Walgreens the last time.
google avatar

Imani M.

Yelp
I needed to create a graduation banner & photo graduation cap for my son for his college graduation while in town. Lucky for me there were not many customers when I needed help, as Ikierra helped me in the Photo Department for hours until we got it right!!!! She was so patient & understanding and I appreciated her for that because I was stressed! Graduation was the next day and my son loved his banner & cap and got so many compliments on the creativity & ingenuity! Thanks, Ikierra!

Veronica M.

Yelp
VERY DISAPPOINTED. A few months ago i changed my health insurance provider and informed the store. Lately i found out that the store kept charging the old provider for my presciptions and, in return, the old provider seeing i was no longer covered was charging me. I spent hours on the phone and going to store to try and find the manager to sort this matter out. After 2 weeks of back and forth i finally speak with the manager Erik (montrose store) who: 1 - did not read the notes i left 2 - did not care to listen to my concerns 3 - treated me badly and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try and help. I used to go to this store all the times, i am extremely disappointed in Walgreens for letting their employees ruining the place. I will go to CVS from now on!
google avatar

Chase K.

Yelp
Always open! Great staff who are willing to assist you with items you need help with.

Yelp
Redicoulos I was on hold for 40 min to talk to a pharmacist maybe I Should've walked over there
google avatar

Kirsten J.

Yelp
Worst. Most disorganized. Fucked up. Ridiculously mismanaged. Pharmacy. EVER. This has been my go-to places for six years. And I have watched it steadily decline in the last two years. After this refill, I'm goings-on another store. Forever.
google avatar

Yelp
I've learned to call this place to see if they actually have something in stock, because even basic antibiotics orders seem to baffle them sometimes....their phone system reminds me every 10 seconds that "all pharmacists are assisting others"... over and over and over and, well you know, over. Although I am glad I didn't waste my time going there, I feel the anger within.....building. OK, so 15 minutes of this horse puckey goes on with no answer. At this point I figure, yeah, well let's see how long it takes them to actually answer.....ok, so it was about 15 and change.... Most customers at this point would have said go pound sand, but I endure, gritting my teeth. The young man on the phone seems distracted and when I ask him if they carry this simple product that nearly every pharmacy carries...he acts like he's never heard of it, says "wait a minute" and puts the phone down. You would think I have just asked for some drug to cure a rare tropical disease or perhaps a rare isotope of a nuclear material...no, this is simple stuff that every pharma carries. My mind is now whirling with the potential yelp review I anticipate writing..... I hear shuffling, paperwork, steps, people moving around, drawers opening and closing... all different noises...but there are sounds I don't hear- I don't hear anyone talking and asking if they have the stuff, I don't hear anyone searching a computer. This guy just put the phone down and went on filling other order I think. Then after about 4 more minutes just a brief "uh, no we don't carry it" with the silent expectation that I will go away. Yep, now we are at a full-blown one. God, why doesn't Yelp allow me the opportunity to bestow zeroes on these people? Ok, let's ask ourselves a question - what good is it to have a 24 hour pharmacy that doesn't carry basics and you can't actually get access to in a reasonable amount of time and that once you do, you get treated like, well...you know...? My experience is a 1...the word I would use is...hmmm, let me think...hmmm, can't say it here. Save the effort and go somewhere where they have the stuff you want and you can get to it in a reasonable timeframe. As far as I'm concerned the Pharmacy is a huge waste of real estate at this place.

T P.

Yelp
I have to say the ladies in the pharmacy drive thru today that helped me were extremely friendly and helpful. And very fast service.

Michael S.

Yelp
As many others have noticed, there is always a long line at the pharmacy. I believe the staff is trying, but the systems seem to be very slow and labor intensive. And Walgreens is seriously understaffed. Everything seems to take a very long time. CVS down the street is much more pleasant and efficient. And at CVS I have never seen a public- facing pharmacy worker wearing a mask under his or her nose, as I did today at Walgreen. There is no reason to use this pharmacy unless you have to.
google avatar

Ana W.

Yelp
Is there a place so magical that you can get your toiletries and prescriptions, buy crappy technology, print pictures, and send your mail through the U.S.Postal System all at once? Yes, it's the Walgreens in Montrose. If you choose to stop by at night, be mindful of the characters hanging around outside--they mean no trouble, they just like your necklace. You can print pictures very cheaply here, but no bigger than 8 by 10 inches. The pharmacy is well-stocked and efficient. The staff is pretty aloof, which is fine by me because I don't want/need ten people helping me find my brand of deodorant like they do at other Walgreens. They have good sales in the make-up aisle, look for the day-glow orange stickies.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
A real 24/7 pharmacy. With all of the CVS pharmacies closing shop at 10 PM or earlier, this is the place to go to get a refill on a script in the middle of the night.
google avatar

Casey C.

Yelp
This is one of those situations when I wish I could give 0 stars. This review is based off of the pharmacy. WORST pharmacy I have ever been to. I have not had one positive experience here. They are impossible to get ahold of on the phone, I once was on hold for 30 minutes. They have called and told me my prescription is ready for pick up only to not have it when I arrive. The drive thru is a mess. Drive thru or inside, be prepared to WAIT, WAIT, and WAIT some more (regardless of if you are picking up a prescription or dropping one off).
google avatar

May G.

Yelp
Review for pharmacy only- and seeing as how I'm spending my time writing a review for Walgreen's, I'm sure you can tell I have to vent. First off, let me say that this is the pharmacy I have ALWAYS gone to... Over 20 years. However, I am so dissapointed in their service that I will never go back. I get it. They are busy. Like, extremely busy. Too many orders, not enough staff. I feel for them, but that's no excuse for rude, incompetent staff. I called Walgreen's to ask them how to administer medication that they hadn't explained. Instead, I was told that a doctor should have explained it to me. And when I reminded her that I was calling a pharmacy (aka a DRUG store fueled by PHARMACISTS) I was accused of catching an attitude and GOT HUNG UP ON. Think it was a mistake? Immediately called back, and no one answered. Do you know how frustrating this is when you have an extremely sick family member? I got in my car, drove back to Walgreens to talk to a pharmacist to see how to administer the meds. He asked to use my phone, got on youtube, searched how to administer the medicine, and made me watch it with him. WTF???? I transferred my meds to CVS- much better service there.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
There's not a lot you can say about a location that's part of a huge chain. Basically, every location is physically identical to every other one. But I will say at the Montrose location I always seem to be stepping over someone stocking shelves during a busy part of the day. Also, the staff sure don't seem to be at all glad to be here. Not that I can blame them really, but the "post office attitude" sure shows here. Hey Walgreens staff, there's a CVS a few blocks away, so a smile and just a little "give a shit" wouldn't go amiss, know what I'm sayin'?
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
This is the place I stop before my hair appointments to grab water, mints, chips or just whatever I may want for my 2-3 hour beauty treatment! It's a decent size, easier to get in and out of than the Starbucks across the way (and they have the bottled fraps), and I don't think I've ever seen it busy. Maybe it's because I'm never around at midnight?
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
While a robust store with friendly cashiers and well-stocked items for the GLBT community (though way less lube than ten years ago), this Walgreen's has always been my go-to. But since moving back to Houston, the three times I've gone here have each involved a 20 minute wait. I've been using Walgreens in Houston, Chicago, New York and Boston -- and this has never happened before. I'm going to have to transfer the prescription to anywhere else; judging by the previous reviews these excessively long waits seem to be the norm now, and for some reason management hasn't figured that customers don't like wasting their day in line.
google avatar

Julian E.

Yelp
They always have the scripts I need, but the pharmacy is a joke. I waited for 30 min in person just to see if they even had a script. Then finally dropped it off, said it would be an hour, came back in 1.5 hours and they haven't even started on it. I get it, they are busy... It's the flu season. But there was like 10 other pissed off people. To top it off the pharm techs couldn't type my insurance card in correctly. Is rather go to Walmart pharmacy.

Wado T.

Yelp
The manager and moron working Sunday July 28 @6:52 are without a doubt the worst representation of what anybody working in the service or retail industry should be. Rude, unhelpful, unprofessional, freaking weird. We asked the clerk to help call for a bag if ice and he actually told us to go wait by the managers office door. After 5 minutes we asked if he could call him for assistance. He replies that he cannot because he's probably counting all the money. The manager comes out another 5 minutes later and asked what we wanted. We told him we just wanted some ice and he shrugs his shoulders and said he didn't know that. Only guests in store, just wanted ice. It's our neighborhood store. We spend at least a hundred bucks a week at this location. I'm done with this place

Yelp
This is a review of the pharmacy, not the rest of the store. I needed some meds yesterday from a workers compensation claim. I had previously been to CVS near my house which was a total waste of time (long story). The prescribing doctor sent me to this Walgreen's to gety prescription filled. Due to CVS' incompetence, there was an issue with getting my worker's compensation claim accepted for the meds...in walks Lori. Lori happened to just be in the neighborhood and popped in to say hi to her fellow coworkers on her day off. She saw they were struggling sorting out CVS' mistake and she jumped right in to get it all sorted out. Within a half hour, I had my prescription filled and was on my way...thanks Lori!

Yelp
There is one person in the pharmacy that is completely rude. While I expect a wait when dealing with insurance issues I do not expect an attitude and rudeness from a technician due to issues out of our hands. If anyone can tell me the name of this technician, I'd appreciate it. A woman in her 20s of Indian descent and pock markson her face. I'd like to make a formal complaint on her. I tried calling but of course the wait time is ridiculous. The rest of the staff on the pharmacy as well as the store were quite nice. One bad apple can and will ruin the others.
