How Portland Restaurant Workers Can Book COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments - Eater Portland

"Walgreens offers vaccines at its locations throughout Portland via an online portal. There are more than a dozen Walgreens locations scattered across the city, so for those unwilling to travel too far out of their neighborhood, Walgreens is a good bet. The online scheduling portal requires users to set up a Walgreens account and go through a screening process to make sure they meet state guidelines." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Eccentric Ego

Google
The store staff are generally pleasant, and I feel sorry for them that the store itself is dismal, filthy, and under-stocked. More importantly, this Walgreens pharmacy location is absolutely awful. Their automated system by texts or calling in consistently fails or simply doesn’t work where I’m forced to call into the physical location and wait on hold for hours at a time only to be hung up on and have to call back in. Once you do get someone on the line the techs are rude, rushed, and do not listen. I gave this place at least three years and there has been no improvements. I’m pulling my prescriptions from this Walgreens and going elsewhere.

For years, I was trapped in pharmacy hell with Walgreens. Every prescription pickup was a battle—endless lines, constant errors, and staff who treated customers as if we were lucky to be there at all. When I finally decided I'd had enough and tried to switch, I hit another wall: no other local pharmacy would accept my insurance. Then I discovered Costco Mail Order Pharmacy, and everything changed. What a difference proper customer service makes. When I call, someone actually answers the phone. My medications arrive before I run out—every single time. No more frantic calls wondering where my prescription is or whether I'll have to ration my medication. But here's what really sets them apart: they treat me like a valued customer who deserves reliable service, not like I should be grateful for whatever scraps of attention they throw my way. The contrast is stark: Walgreens made me feel powerless, like they owned me simply because of my insurance limitations. Costco Mail Order makes me feel respected and prioritized. If you're stuck in the same pharmacy nightmare I was, there is a way out. Your insurance will most likely work with Costco Mail Order too—and if it does, you owe it to yourself to make the switch. You deserve better. One last thing: Costco Membership is NOT required to use their pharmacy.

I stopped by to pick up my prescription today. Looks like they hired more techs and restored their regular hours including weekends, big plus. The line was short and moved fast, definitely big improvement over the past several months when the techs were stretched so thin that you couldn't help but feel bad for them.

I called at 4:57 on a Saturday. They picked it up and hung up on me. I called again at 4:59. They picked it up and put me on hold for half an hour until I hung up. They claim that the pharmacy closes at 6pm but when I drove there in person to deal with whatever shenanigans were going on there, they were closing their doors at 5:30. I needed this medication before a trip and they left me high and dry. Good thing I was driving and not flying because I was able to delay my trip and get the prescription filled the next day - at another Walgreens. I won't be back.

Ted de Looze

Google
Consistent: Poor service and price gouging. After avoiding this pharmacy for 10+ years I decided to try again. Poor Service: There is no prescription drop off window. You must wait in a single line behind all those picking up prescriptions to drop off a new one. Price gouging: Having filled this generic steroid eye drop prescription previously at CVS, I asked the price: $44. CVS charges $33 for the same prescription. That's 33% more at Walgreens. No surprise the stores are closing all over the USA

Charlie Holtz

Google
Very bad customer service. I would recommend hiring a fleet of consultants to get this slower than molasses pharmacy whipped into shape. Literal line of 30 people everyone hour of the day. Took me 90 mins to simply pick up a prescription they said would be ready two days earlier. Nice work Walgreens! Absolute disaster.

Lulu Esthetics

Google
If I could leave 0 stars, I certainly would for the Pharmacy. They are rude and unpleasant to communicate with, and I’ve received calls and texts 3 separate times that my prescription was ready and each time I showed up it was ready. Definitely not ever coming back to this location. They used to be awesome!

Warren Peterson

Google
If you have to lock up all the items in the store. Just close the location for goodness sakes. I'd rather drive to a location where I can actually get the items I need without having to wait 30 minutes for someone to unlock a shelf.

Yelp
Had to take off work to pick up my babys prescription after they texted me it was ready. Arrived 2-3 min before they closed for lunch after a 15 min drive. I was asked by a lady if I was waiting for the pharmacy to which I replied yes. She said that they have to close at 1:30 for lunch to which I replied, no problem. I am just here to pick up a prescription that's ready for my daughter and I will be out in a minute. I was rudely told by the same woman that I would have to come back after one hour and three minutes. She said no way that i could get anything and then added she was sorry while looking the least sorry she possibly could have. I came back at the right time to find a -45 min long line for the pharmacy. I used to like this one because the pharmacist was nice and helpful however this other staff member has a rude and entitled attitude coupled with a truly remarkable laziness that means we will go elsewhere. I just hope that when she needs someone to behave like a human she doesnt run into herself. Net effect is two drives to the pharmacy, 40 minutes wasted, small child unable to get her medicine and the least important (dad without any lunch and missing work). I dont think this review will make a difference but they can easily do better.

Yelp
I've ordered online from them twice, once for same day delivery and once by UPS, both times were great. And if you place an order for at least $35 the delivery is free!

Yelp
HORRIBLE Pharmacy!!!! As a retired practitioner of 40+ years, I have never experienced such a lack of patient care. Wen the Pharmacist is a disgrace to his profession. Four trips and 4 lines to wait in I made to the this pharmacy for my daughters amoxicillin. They only had 4 pills, and said to come back the next day after 3pm for the remaining pills. Next day, told come back at 4pm, havent opened the deliveries yet. 4pm told come back tomorrow after 10am, did not arrive. Came back on Sat at 11, pharmacy is closed and locked up, Pharmacist inside but wont answer the door, and will not accept phone calls. Manager attempts to talk to Pharmacist twice to come out and address all of us waiting, but refuses to do so, continues to hide from view. Told to try another Walgreens in town to pick up, but other Walgreens would not fill it since the order was already started and opened at Burnside! 4 trips, 4 lines, 3 hours of wasted time! WORST PATIENT CARE PHARMACY!!!

Heather W.

Yelp
Worst pharmacy in Portland! Crappy hours (used to always close randomly, now closed weekends. Who needs the convenience of getting medicine on the weekends, right), and inefficient as all get out. Constantly waiting for my prescriptions because it takes them ages to fill it and they have to order things in but dawdle about it. Currently about to be out of medicine until Monday thanks to them.

Yelp
I was prescribed two medications that combined, can cause a "rare but serious condition," but received no information from the pharmacist about this risk during the consult. (The ER also gave me no warning, but I usually count more on pharmacists for their specialized insights about pharmaceuticals). I only learned about it because I am one of the rare people who views medication guides before using prescriptions, and there was enough there for me to research further. They also misspelled my name even though I was already in their system, and they had viewed my insurance card that shows the correct spelling. That doesn't give me a lot of confidence in their attention to detail about the more-important parts of their jobs. The only reason they have two stars instead of one is because of the friendliness of the employee managing intakes.

Yelp
I was trying to get some Clariton OTC but found the pharmacy closed with a sign directing me to to a pharmacy down the road. Throw in a disorganized store, easily confused clerk and toothpaste boxes that had already been opened and I'm sure I'll pass on stopping here the next time I need anything.

Cathy E.

Yelp
I use this pharmacy and another Walgreens I. Idaho since I spend time both places. The Walgreens on Bunside always has a line. There are always four or More people working and rarely more than one person at the register. There were six people ahead of me and theee people waiting plus me for drugs we were told were ready but were not. Last time I was here they insisted they didn't have the drug in stock even though I pointed out it would be in n the fridge. They claimed to have checked it. I showed them my text saying it was ready. Finally they " found it ". It's like this every time. Also there are drug addicts in the parking lot tripping Out and one time there was one inside at the entrance dancing the whole time I was in the store. The people are surely and clearly don't care about their job or customer service. The Walgreens in Eagle, Idaho is the opposite. It is friendly, efficient and helpsful and doesn't make mistakes. They fill drugs fast and with rare exception always have what I need in stock when others don't. It has to be local management. And the kind of people who live in Portland these days.

Yelp
Could not get over how clean and organized this store is! Let's face it, it's in the heart of the city and typically that doesn't equate to clean! Usually I go to Walgreens on NE Weidler since it's near my gym. The Weidler store has a homeless camp lining the front wall and you have to make your way past many beggars when entering. The store is always in a disarray. Now that I discovered this West Burnside location, it is now my preferred Walgreens! Found several items that I've never seen in the other store. The makeup area was spotless. What? Yep, you heard it here. Cashiers were all super helpful. Needed some photos printed and they took care of it instantly, didn't have to wait even a minute. Exchange an item, no hassle. The cashier even helped me update my address and phone number in their system. It was a pleasant experience all around.

Yelp
It is Teacher Appreciation week at my 6yo school. Decided Walgreens would have a good card selection as well as gift cards. I was not disappointed. Found a really unique card in the "Curbside Pick Up"? selection of the cards. Found a Target goft card with ease and bought a Game Stop card for an upcoming birthday as well. The clerk was so nice and explained Oregon's new bag law to me since I was out of the country:-)
google avatar

Cinna B.

Yelp
Stopped in here for some drinks and snacks. Walgreens had plenty of supplies to keep us fueled for a long hike at Mission Trails park. -Our clerk was very pride and friendly. -The store was clean and nicely organized. -There was plenty of parking

Nicholas Y.

Yelp
I will certainly avoid this pharmacy, not only for the long lines and the lack of text message communication (after they'd said they'll let me know when a prescription was ready, which was ready, but was never communicated). They also said they'd accept a price from GoodRx, then when I tried to pick it up and pay for it, they said their system wouldn't take code and tried to sell it to me for 3 times the price. When I said that was more expensive than I've ever paid, the person at the window told me their price was as cheap as anywhere else, which clearly wasn't true. I walked down the block to Fred Meyer and got it for less than half the price they said. Overall, I don't recommended them if you're trying to save money with GoodRx, because they're clearly not going to actually give you the price listed, and I didn't really find any other particularly redeeming qualities about this pharmacy, so I will never go back there.

Yelp
This walgreens is okay with stock compared to others and i have had very pleasant interactions with the store staff. I will have to say though, some of the pharmacy workers need to work on their customer service skills. I have had amazing interactions inquiring about pills most of the time but recently the woman I spoke too was very short, interrupted me constantly, and refused to help me with inventory questions. Many pills are in shortage, that must be frustrating for the techs, but as frustrated as you are by the constant asking- some of us are suffering because we don't have life saving medication that we need to function. I hope that this person I speak of can understand and realize that patience and compassion is necessary in this industry, and that patients deserve respect.

Yelp
This is my go-to for prescriptions and other medical necessities but recently I have found out that the Fred Meyer close by offers cheaper prices on my regular medications .Although my prescriptions are always ready on time but sometimes the pharmacy hours have been inconvenient . I have also had a lot of photos printed here and they do a good job of it .The pick-ups are fast generally a couple hours and sooner if you pay more. Other goods and especially cosmetics are expensive if you compare to other shops nearby and so I generally don`t like to buy them from here . The staff is friendly and the store is well stocked and clean .

Silas O.

Yelp
I'd give this location a 3.5-4 stars depending on the day. My review is solely for the pharmacy, which has a mixed level of quality when it comes to staff and customer service. I think the pharmacists do a good job getting things done on time, but the pharmacy technicians/ front desk folks could use some extra training in delivering excellent customer service. Parking is plentiful.

Eve A.

Yelp
Do not send your prescriptions here if you can avoid it. You'll constantly be waiting 30-60 minutes in line.

Shellie H.

Yelp
I am happy with their cosmetics department, they have always been very helpful. What has kept me away from shopping at this location is the manager. This person is rude, has no connection with the customers.
google avatar

Mila T.

Yelp
Older Caucasian man with dark features wearing an intense mask, working 12/09/21 was extremely rude to me when I asked to see 3 items that were locked to choose which ones I wanted to buy. He began to argue back and forth with a nasty attitude toward me that they were identical which they were not and had a bigot-like demeanor towards me. I'm leaving feeling uncomfortable and my mood ruined. I will avoid this location in hopes of never coming into contact with him again.

Yelp
Saw a shoplifter get arrested. She was getting emotional and the police took her away.

Yelp
Okay, I normally wouldn't break down and start reviewing convenience stores, but this one is close to my heart. It's MY Walgreens, the one I go to weekly, for anything under the sun. So much so, that the manager knows me by name. First off, I love all Walgreens! Where else can you get groceries, makeup, toiletries, cheap clothes, a flu shot, your photos printed, a shower curtain, an as seen on tv Simply Fit board, a hair removal kit, or a giant squirt gun for your kid? You get the point. I bet you would be shocked by all the strange but handy things they are hiding up and down those isles. A lot of people are complaining about the riff raff that this store attracts and it can be a little dodgy sometimes. What can you expect being right off Burnside. I have noticed that recently they hired a security guard which is nice. I never feel unsafe, and I go there really late at night sometimes. The staff is friendly and my prescriptions are usually filled fast enough. I will agree though, that some of the pharmacy assistants can be really mean! Thank you Burnside Walgreens for taking care of me!
google avatar

Lux W.

Yelp
The Pharmacy here is an incompetent nightmare. If you disagree with them or ask a question, they punish you by telling you it'll be hours and hours before you can pick up the simplest of scripts (assuming they can be bothered to read the instructions from the doctor or your insurance information correctly). I would rather walk across the river to fill a script in duct tape shoes on a hot day than deal with these rude, unreasonable asshats again.

Yelp
Well stocked location and usually you can find some deals. Great place for last minute christmas shopping as well. i asked the pharmacist for over the counter medicine advice. He was very helpful in pointing me to allergy medicines
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
The staff here are always kind and helpful, the store is clean and organized, and I love the great sales. However I'm writing this review to acknowledge just how above and beyond amazing the manager Amanda is. I needed to get mecklizine 25 mg for severe vertigo, I couldn't leave the house alone and after a delivery accidentally brought the wrong product she was kind enough to drop the right product off. Above and beyond!! This is my favorite Walgreens!!
google avatar

sadija m.

Yelp
I seriously think this store just needs to shut its doors. What an awful experience! The store is dirty and has the most yucky in and out the doors. Oh and don't forget that everyone has a service animal coming through too. The staff is very inexperienced and lack of knowledge. Will never go back even for convenience. Long story short: ran in out of convenience and came across a shopper with a dog ( not on a leash ) that lunged and bit me. No help from anyone in the store and was left with a bill of almost $ 400.00 and a scar that will last a lifetime. Shame on Walgreens and the staff!! Total BS!!!
google avatar

Jasmine A.

Yelp
Had to be in Portland for a work trip and stopped by this Walgreens. I found everything that I was looking for and the cashier with the curly hair that rang me up was super friendly (:
google avatar

Cynthia G.

Yelp
It's me, I'm odd. I love going to these places and checking out all the stuff. The "As Seen on TV" or the card isle. I could and often spend hours just wandering around. I would like to thank the staff for never acting like I'm sketchy or a shoplifter. I never have an issue finding help and the app makes filling prescriptions a breeze!
google avatar

Barbara J.

Yelp
If I could give this place minus stars I would. Condescending pharmacist. Awful tech. I work on the front lines myself and I will go the extra mile for a colleague. They could care less. Worst experience. Worst customer service. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else
google avatar

Yelp
A short ditty for my Walgreens: Why I Hate You: -You close at 10pm. Do you expect me to only be sick between the hours of 8am-10pm? -I have to wear pants. Do you expect me to wear PANTS when I'm sick? (or ever, for that matter?) Why I Love You: Cold & Flu Medications Cold Medications Cold Prevention/Immunity Cold Rubs & Vaporizer Liquids Cough Drops & Lozenges Cough Suppressants & Expectorants Echinacea Nasal Sprays, Drops, & Washes Sore Throat Relief Sugar Free Cough & Cold Care Vitamin C Lozenges Zinc Lozenges You're mine. So close, so convenient, such great parking. the end. (...of my Walgreen's review, hopefully not of me...)

Yelp
What? Reviewing a Walgreens? I had to because...they just RAPED my photos. Seriously, not only were my prints harshly cropped (NOTE: I got 4x6's...my camera shoots in the 2x3 aspect ratio...for you right-brained folks out there that means EXACTLY THE SAME)...but the highlights were BLOWN OUTTA THE WATER. Seriously, my pictures look noticeably degraded (watch this space and I will post a picture-of-a-picture-and-an-original-picture). All sorts of detail was simply cranked out to white. Every shot is waaaay over-exposed (for non camera geeks out there: bright as FUCK). I have NO IDEA what's going on here. Never again. Why 2 stars? The guy at the counter was nice and complimented me on my photos. They also sell beer.
google avatar

Kirstin B.

Yelp
I come to this location at least once per month and 9 times out of 10, I'm greeted warmly by the employees. I'm pretty easy to please and not the type of person to make a big deal over small mistakes, so I'm making my review 4/5 stars. Also, I wanted to make mention that despite several negative reviews of the pharmacy here (although the majority of them seem to be at least 2+ years old...), I've had a very different experience (i.e. a much better one). Here's to hoping that doesn't change!
google avatar

Mimi B.

Yelp
Slow and rude pharmacy staff, particularly a lady with long blonde hair who sat on hold and was able to talk to her coworkers but could not acknowledge me standing there or even smile. With one customer in addition to myself and three people behind the counter, it took 20 minutes to get my prescription, which was all ready and everything. There is way too much competition to treat customers this way. Will fill my prescription elsewhere in the future.

Suzie W.

Yelp
I needed to buy a $425 VISA gift card. The checker Thelma rang it up for $400 instead. She then suggested that I buy a $25 gift card to go with it to make up for her mistake. Which would basically look like a throw away next to the other gift card. Management was completely incompetent and said there was no way to correct their mistake once the card was activated. I'm never coming here again and will move all my prescriptions to a different location from now on. Beware! Idiots running the store and complete incompetence running amok.
google avatar

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Absolutely no help. The pharmacists don't seem to want to fill any prescriptions. Don't bother going here.
google avatar

Page S.

Yelp
This is my local Walgreens. I'm used to having one in walking distance and they've all been their own kind of weirdo hell. This one is clean and the employees don't seem like they hate their lives. The frozen food selection is not the worst if you are a person that sometimes buys food from drugstores. Bonus points for decent sales on alcohol. I use the pharmacy an awful lot (in general) but have only visited this Walgreens' pharmacy once. There were about seven people in line and two employees on the register. I was in and out within fifteen minutes. That's a reasonable amount of time for me - it may not be for you.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
Stopped in to look for a glass case while on vacation on 9/16/16 . They did not carry a case large enough for my glasses. An employee named Victor, who was busy when I asked him to help me. Victor tried EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND something that would protect my glasses. Victor even went to the back of the store where merchandise is kept before it is put out on the shelves to try to find something to protect my glasses. Victor was efficient kind, patient, and professional. Victor's ONLY GOAL WAS TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Because of employees like Victor, I am a loyal customer of Walgreens.

Yelp
Giant, good smelling candles are a decent deal at 3 for $24.00. I love they way they will fill my flat with fragrance when I burn them. There is always something on sale in cosmetics and you can find deals on brands like L'Oréal, Revlon and such. I never remember to bring in coupons but that has never been a problem, as they always seem to have an extra behind the register in the cosmetics department. I can't remember getting anything other than fast, friendly and efficient service. I perused some of the other aisles such as the wine (go to Trader Joe's), for hair product, (I prefer Trade Secret) and the Pharmacy, it is a toss up between buying at Walgreens or what was on sale at Fred Meyer. But for fragrant candles, Walgreens is my preference.
google avatar

F C.

Yelp
Avoid this Walgreens. Rude ladies working in the photo area. Ask questions and they don't listen. They make you feel like you're bothering them. No thanks. Doesn't make me want to use Walgreens anymore. This store needs better customer service representatives please.

Yelp
2 points because some of the staff are very nice. Otherwise, this particular Walgreen's is a deep, ragged void of unending incompetence and screaming torment. I am on several medications, and both of my dogs are on a few, too. So I'm there about once a week. Sometimes the website will tell me an Rx is ready and when I get there, it's not. Or it is but they can't find it. Sometimes the website will tell me it's not ready and after waiting until I run out and then calling, I find out it's been ready for days. There's been a handful of insurance nightmares made exponentially worse by this pharmacy in the past year. Once, they gave me the wrong dose of a Schedule II (very controlled) drug. They dispensed pills that were twice the milligrams of the actual Rx because they didn't have the dose my doctor prescribed, but they DID NOT TELL ME THAT. I DID NOT KNOW THEY HAD DOUBLED MY NARCOTIC PILLS UNTIL AFTER I SWALLOWED ONE. Almost every single time my doctors need to be contacted to renew an Rx, Walgreen's says they faxed the renewal request to whichever doc it was, but the doc never got it, and this happens with multiple doctors' offices. I have to request any Rx without refills at least 10 days to 2 weeks in advance of the refill date, which is absurd. Most recently, they billed my insurance for a full month's supply of one of my medications (about $700), which is 4 boxes of a hormone patch, but only dispensed 3 boxes to me, by accident. Not a partial fill, a counting error. The tech thought 3 equals 4. So I had to take time out of my day to make several calls to them and return to get the 4th box. I'm over it. I'm switching to Rite Aid.

Nicole D.

Yelp
Had a frustrating experience trying to pick up my prescription today. The woman at the counter asked for my prescription card which I do not have for my insurance. I tried to explain this but she was insistent and did not give me the chance to explain myself. After some back and forth, she continued to serve me and was pleasant. Upon picking up my prescription, the pharmacist, a man with long, dirty blonde hair, on the other hand, repeated the prescription directions verbatim as printed on the prescription-rather quickly-did not ask me if I had any questions about the meds, then continued the prescription card conversation. I was stunned by his decision to take on a conversation he was not involved in to begin with and one I did not ask to continue. This did nothing to resolve my experience but only exacerbated the frustration which he previously witnessed. I promptly responded saying "I don't want to talk about this anymore" upon which he said "have a nice day." That statement came across as a middle finger behind his back. It was pretty clear he did not want me to have a nice day, but was rather insistent on either defending his colleague or making a point to "teach me a lesson." Either way, his priorities as a pharmacist we're clearly misaligned and tainted with a superiority complex. Totally unnecessary of this man and worrisome for someone who should be focused on servicing people with meds rather than leading unwarranted conversations.

Curt C.

Yelp
I was just at this location about 10 minutes ago and was third party to professionalism I feel I must acknowledge. A homeless man was in there turning in cans (as is common in Portland) and on his way out the door the liquid mystery contents of his plastic bag poured all over the floor, I was mad for the employees but an employee named George never broke his smile, he was kind to this man, told him not to worry about it and proceeded to clean up the disgusting contents off the floor without breaking a stride. It is all to common on yelp to want to bitch about a bad experience but very rare to call out a great one. George, you are an unsung hero who kept your cool and showed kindness to someone less fortunate then yourself. Thank you for being awesome.

Yelp
When a half-dozen customers stand outside the pharmacy waiting for it to open during lunch and it's 2017, you know you have a problem. The manager had no words of wisdom to offer (other than sarcastic obvious corporate statements). Please staff your pharmacy all day or I won't be back. You can afford it.

Marla S.

Yelp
Jenn in cosmetics is amazing!! She's a gem, and a real gals gal.. talking product w/her is fun & sharing all the dupes for high end make-up we were able to share some good tips with each other!

Yelp
Oh Walgreens.........You're so convenient to my apartment and run great specials. The problem? The items I'm going in to buy are frequently gone, shelves bare. As with most of Burnside, there are some sketch people hanging around. Sometimes the cashiers at the front register are fairly inept. I've been overcharged a number of times, so this usually entails a lengthy wait for a manager to override the transaction. I usually check out in the cosmetic department. The ladies at that desk actually know what they're doing. I switched to the Fred Meyer pharmacy close to two years ago because I had so many problems with this one. On three separate occasions they tried to give me someone else's medication, and actually argued with me that they were correct. Huh, interesting, different middle name AND birth date. This is a mix up that could be REALLY dangerous if I hadn't have been paying attention. Also, even though my insurance uses them as a preferred provider, they charged more than my co-pay on several occasions. It took days to get a refill normally even after calling it in. The lines were outrageous. No fricking public bathroom either! I could go on and on, but it wears me out just thinking about it. On the plus side, it is convenient to get to, and they usually do have the basics for over the counter medicines. Oh, but they have Mountain Bars, nomnomnom, especially the peanut butter.

Yelp
The pharmacy is slow, disorganized and understaffed. Why go somewhere else when you can drop off your prescription here, get a text - "it's ready" - come in and learn that it's not ready, then wait 1 hour and only get your prescription filled when you start crying out of frustration. Pathetic. I would like to know why a 5-star rating from 2011 tops this list of comments on this pharmacy. Here's the scoop from 2014: this pharmacy is terrible. PS Yelp: Check out that 2011 review. It sounds like a commercial endorsement for Walgreens and Popchips. Although, I do agree - the gals in the beauty section are really nice and helpful.

Yelp
It's rare that I write a one star review, but the pharmacy at this location literally can't get much worse. I am excluding Natalie from this review, because she was helpful. Other than that, the service at this pharmacy is unbelievably terrible. Let me start off by saying that this pharmacy is SO slow. I've seen it take 20 minutes for them to find someone's prescription, and that isn't too far from the norm. But it gets worse. When I brought my new insurance card here, the pharmacy tech deleted all of my medication coupons from my account because she thought they were old insurance cards. Because of their poor training, I've literally had to jump through hoops multiple times to do something that should be virtually effortless. This was their mistake, yet I'm the only one dealing with it. Instead of making an effort to call my doctor to replace the cards, they told me to do it. When I couldn't get a replacement coupon, I was told to come back unless I wanted to pay full price, because their supervisor (who I spoke with a week earlier) was on medical leave. And now that I no longer have the coupons on file, I'm stuck going to this pharmacy for price adjustments every time. Unbelievable. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

Yelp
The hours are deceiving. Please staff your pharmacy during lunch, or change your hours to note that you are closed for half hour (or actually longer...) in the middle of the day! It's completely unacceptable to shut down daily mid-day without posting notice on your website.

Yelp
I think the service is good, maybe I came at late hour, not too many customers. I like their clean restroom! This drug store is at a good location!Products well organized in racks, easy to find!

Yelp
I LOVE THE PHARMACY! Simply amazing! I fill all of my meds here. Today they really went up & beyond, I have a special hard to find med that is regulated by law/insurance companies and I can only fill it once a month, They was a mix up with a mail in pharmacy which was blocking my scrip from being filled. Walgreens spent a good 10/15 minutes on the phone with that company overriding the error so that I could walk out of store with my meds and not have to pay the huge out of pocket expense or worse wait another month until it could be filled again. They are caring, patient super helpful and work very hard to make sure their customers are taken care, which I think is rare for such a high volume and often hectic store. Good people still exist! Also the ladies working the cosmetics department are rad and hook up coupons on sorts of random beauty needs, which is killer. Pop Chips are consistently on sale, another huge plus since I'm addicted to them. And also to the chick complaining about issues with her photos, lesson learned, don't take film to a pharmacy/drug store, especially when Fred Meyer is blocks away and there is a camera store on NW 23rd. For the neighborhood it's in, this Walgreens serves the plethora of needs very well.

Yelp
While not a huge fan, I did witness something pretty cool the other day. Last Tuesday actually. I was picking up a prescription for a tooth infection, good fun, and the dude at the drug pill counter could not fill a prescription for the gal in front of me because he was out. She was worried, it was for her kid, she wasn't sure if her insurance would cover going to another vendor of the almighty pill.. etc..etc..etc Anyhow, he took the time to call two other stores and check for availability, he found her what she needed at the second store and she was relieved. I thought he took a moment, went the extra mile. The kid was doing a solid.. kudos to him.

Yelp
Slowest staff I've ever experienced, from the register to the pharmacy. They're nice and helpful but so slow. I sat for 40 minutes waiting for two prescriptions, only to realize they had forgotten to call me to the counter when they were ready. So who knows how long I say there. The place is clean, well organized, and well stocked, but the service is slacking.
