We were lucky enough to stay here as part of our tour and decided to have dinner here. From the moment we were shown to our table, our server Asher was there to make sure we had everything we needed. We had the fondue experience and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Asher was attentive without being obtrusive and super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chatting to him.

We had a fantastic dinner here while we were staying at the hotel. Two of us did the three course dinner while our son got the pork chop. My wife and I each had the filet. We started off with the cheese fondue, which was delicious. It came with bread as well as vegetables and pickles to dip in the cheese. I really liked the vegetables more than the bread. The filets were perfectly cooked and were so good. For dessert, we got the chocolate fondue with many different morsels to smother with chocolate. Some might complain about the portions being small, but we thought they were absolutely perfect. Everything tasted so good, and we left very satisfied without that overly full feeling. I did splurge and ordered the premium wine pairing, and I have to say it was perfect for my palate. I have been under whelmed with wine pairing in the past, but not here. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful and provided a great experience. The only thing that is a deficit is the cost, so viewing this as a special treat helps!

Google
Really nice and straightforward restaurant in the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. There’s one room with amazing views of the lake, and another room with no views, so request (if you can) the room with the view. Additionally, there’s a full wine rack w/a ladder that’s very cute and actually gets used. We split the raclette (which was a “deconstructed” version of a traditional raclette) and split the tenderloin. Both were excellent. We’d definitely eat here again, but you also can’t go wrong with the other hotel restaurants

Everything about the Walliser Stube was amazing! The fondue and steak were incredible and the views are lovely. Staff were extremely kind and friendly, especially our waiter Asher. Will absolutely look forward to coming back someday!

We came for my birthday dinner, it was a Friday evening and the place was not so busy. We were greeted pleasantly and escorted to our table. I really enjoyed the food, we ordered á la carte as the set menu seemed a bit too much food for us. We started with the charcuterie board, followed by the steak and the trout, both were very tasty! I loved the mash potatoes and the creamy foam over the asparagus. The trout was so fresh, that was a big hit as well. Sommelier and server were friendly, the only mishap of the evening was that the server was pouring big glasses of wine, not really a way to enjoy a vintage wine. Sommelier brought new glasses and a decanter, our server apologized many times, but overall his services was great. Although we said we didn’t want dessert as neither one of us eats sweets, it was very kind of them bringing a small platter with a happy birthday note, we did indulge in them and I was very happy we did.

Google
The service and atmosphere are great. The food is mediocre because the one vegan option is vegan schnitzel and it is lacking in flavour. They need to drastically work on the vegan options because there is a lot of potential. They could offer vegan butter for the breads, and vegan cheese and chocolate fondues. They can offer a salad option. They can use innovative vegan sausages for the main. There are many exciting ways to make German food vegan and they should use the opportunity!! All that said, the service was really amazing!

We recently dined at this restaurant to sample their "Chateau Winter Experience" three-course menu, and it was a delightful culinary adventure from start to finish. Starting with the appetizer, the traditional cheese fondue was a first for us, and it perfectly met our expectations, served with an assortment of fresh veggies and bread for dipping. For our mains, the Alberta beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, while the schnitzel was satisfyingly crispy, perfectly complemented by a savory mushroom sauce. The baked Louise dessert was a delightful conclusion to our meal. However, what truly set our experience apart was the exceptional service; the staff were attentive, bringing a flower for our anniversary, and our server Asher was remarkably knowledgeable, expertly guiding us through the menu. Overall, the visit was an outstanding dining experience that we highly recommend. Thank you Asher and all the staff at Walliser Stube!

Google
Hands down, one of the best meals throughout the week in Banff Canadian Rockie Mountains. We chose Walliser Stube to celebrate my partner's 45th birthday, and I am glad that we did. We ordered the 3 course Château experience that includes a traditional käse fondue where we added Black Truffle + classic wine pairings. It was amazingly flavorful and delicious yet so simple and easy to put together, what's not to love. Nick, our waiter was superb and knowledgeable of Mountains trails. I highly recommend you try it out!

Yelp
The service was amazingly pleasant. Our waitress Kira was fantastic. Great conversation and attentiveness. The maître d' frequented the table with knowledge of the mountains seen from the huge bay windows of the restaurant. MUST HAVE - Wiener Schnitzel. I've been to many places around the world and tried the schnitzel. This is my favorite one so far. The breading to meat ratio was divine. The mushroom sauce paired with it, elevated an already fantastic dish into an experience.

Yelp
It was a long day of travel delays from Chicago, but we finally make it to Lake Louise. I was thrilled we had booked our first dinner at the hotel because I was hungry and exhausted. I was also thrilled there was fondue on the menu because I'm a huge fondue fan. My husband...not so much a fondue fan, but was happy to indulge with me. We decided the three course prix fixe was the way to go since I wanted the fondue and it made sense with the pricing of the menu. Our lovely waiter also encouraged us to add the wine pairing. It seemed like a great idea until i couldn't even finish half the first glass of wine. I'm not much of a drinker these days! We started with the signature cheese fondue. I've yet to have a fondue I don't love (especially when cheese is involved) and this was no exception. That had plenty of yummy bread and veggies (and even pickles and potatoes) to dip in the cheese. I could have been done with dinner after this, but we still had 2 courses to go. For my main course I had the snapper, which was very good. My husband was also very happy with his wiener schnitzel. Both were very filling and between that, the cheese and all the wine I didn't know how we could make room for dessert. We opted for the baked alaska for dessert (over chocolate fondue) and it was one of the better baked alaskas I've had. So delicious! The service was a little slow, but I think they meant for it to be slow between courses. We were exhausted so would have preferred to to move a little faster. Our waiter, however, was fantastic. He's been there 22 years and was so helpful with what to order, but also gave us some really great hiking tips and other info about Lake Louise. This was the only meal we had at the hotel beyond our complimentary breakfast. I typically try to eat outside of hotels when we travel, but this was perfect for a travel day and very good too.

Yelp
Since we were staying here, my boyfriend wanted to try the fondue experience. Since it was the ending of autumn, we weren't sure how busy it was going to be so we made reservations. Luckily, we eat early so there wasn't much of wait. We were seated upstairs next to the dumbwaiter. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. We knew what we were getting already because he wanted the fondue experience, which is the Chateau Experience set menu. The cheese fondue was alright, it was a bit too rich for us. It was very interesting dipping certain vegetable in cheese. The entrees were the rockstar of the meal. We both opted for the Alberta Filet Mignon and it was definitely the right choice. It practically melted in our mouths and pairing with yummy Butterly mash. Aside from the entree, chocolate dessert fondue was a hit! My boyfriend ate majority of it as I'm not a big fan of chocolate. I had a few things and the cream puffs was really good with the warm chocolate. Overall it was a good experience, but once is enough.

Yelp
Located in the Fairmont Chateau, great views of lake Louise. They have different options including a coursed meal with wine pairings, we ended up getting the gem salad, Wiener schnitzel and chocolate fondue for dessert! It was plenty of food for 2 people and enjoyed our view of the lake!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely not worth the price, and not all all consistent with the fine dining experience it purports to offer. We had a reservation yet were seated upstairs facing a wall. The restaurant was not busy. Service was extraordinary slow and inconsistent. When you are paying $100 per person or more you should not have to ask for water refills three or four times. We also ordered other drinks but were never offered refills or asked if we wanted another. The fondue was ok, quite small for the price, and our main course filet mignons were cold. We did have kids with us and maybe that's why they treated us like second class citizens. While the ambiance of the hotel was somewhat nice, nothing else matched. Definitely advise giving this restaurant a miss. For the price we paid, it felt like a ripoff.

Yelp
Booked our anniversary dinner months in advance and was excited to have a nice meal while staying at the Château. We were seated pretty close to the window so that was nice. Our server seemed very knowledgeable and professional. Our fondue was $60 CAD a person I think or more. Probably one of the worse meals I've had in a long time. Our sides and meat that we received were tiny portions and consisted mainly of bread and sprouts. We only got a few pieces of shrimp and each piece was cut in half to make it seem like more food. We got two tiny potatoes that were pre cooked and soggy. We did sub the red meat for the bison so maybe bison cost more. I'm giving the experience 3 stars because we did have fun and enjoyed the view. The server was great but yikes the food was terrible. We spent big $$$ on this meal.

Shannon C.

Yelp
We did the 3 course tasting menu with the Sommelier wine pairings. We have eaten at fine restaurants around the world and this was right up there with any of them. We started with the cheese fondue which was fun and very good. It was served with a variety of vegetables, pickles and breads. The entrees were the star. We had the filet mignon and the Wiener schnitzel, both with fois gras. They were both amazing but the Wiener schnitzel was out of this world, just melted in your mouth. Dessert was a baked Alaska which was torched table side. Very good. The wine pairings complemented the meal but we thought the sommelier would come out to give history, tasting notes which did not happen. Our waiter just told us what they were so that was the only disappointment of the night. Not sure that was worth $125/person for 3 glasses of wine.

Yelp
Fondue very nice. Appreciate the bread assortments. Seafood bouillabaisse little salty.

Yelp
So good. Lovely cheese fondue. Recommend it very highly. They also have a recipe for cheese fondue and i took it home. Very nice service and ambiance!

Yelp
Amazing meal at wallister stube! Antoine was amazing. The fondue was very worth it. Get the Lake Louise dessert! The cherry inside was great.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday evening around 6pm in April (non peak szn) and they do not take reservations unless you are staying at the Fairmont. There were plenty of tables and we got seated by one of the large windows facing the mountain (we were lucky and also it was quiet in general). I could imagine this place gets quite a bit busier during peak szn. Definitely get the Prix fix menu if you're coming with 2 people and want to eat their cheese fondue. I saw a table order the meat fondue and it looked ok, but definitely not as good as the cheese fondue that came with the fixed menu. And the cheese fondue "main" didn't seem like a worthwhile endeavour. For 2 with the fixed menu, you share one pot of fondue and it is more than enough! The fondue cheese base is the same regardless of which option you choose, and the only diff is the garnish... So if you choose the truffle one, you're paying a few more bucks for some truffle shavings. The server was really nice and gave us a few extra pretzel rolls as she recommended we dip it in the cheese. She was spot on. Dipping the chunky pretzel rolls in the cheese was decadent heaven! After finishing the fondue, wife and I were already quite full! The tenderloin steak that was served afterwards was perfectly cooked to our liking and very well flavoured. The nice part was they also give a large bowl of vegetables to share. A very nice touch to keep things a little healthier! Lastly, we got the chocolate fondue for dessert (1 to share between 2 pple). We got the dark chocolate as we figured what you dip will already be sweet. We were spot on. They gave a few small cakes, some strawberries, and my wife's fav, a few pieces of homemade marshmallows. Overall, everything was lots of fun, delicious, and enjoyable! I think the fixed menu was about $95 per person, but I felt it was worth it given how much food you get and what a nice experience it is. Cheers.

Yelp
The staff is nice and friendly. The food was ok. They are popular for cheese fondue, maybe we should have tried that instead

Yelp
BUT PATRONS BEWARE We gave this 5*'s because we hadthe view, and everything was great! However this iconic hotel is about the view and this restaurant only has a handful of tables with any view! The rest have no windows! For us Awesome! The lady behind the bar (who I might add does not normally work in that bar) was wonderful and made great cocktails! Amazing view from our table! Both the main and dessert fondues were awesome!

Yelp
Went there for a family member birthday, restaurant did nothing for that person. This restaurant is overrated and overpriced. We will not go back.

Yelp
More of a 3.5 stars meal but I'll round up for the location and view. We did the three course meal. The fondue is very good but the upcharge for lobster (four tiny bite sized pieces ONLY in that pot) is not worth the extra $10 per person. The foley mignon was prepared perfectly. The potato side it came with was not good. Service was ok - our water wasn't refilled regularly and our waitress forgot which dessert we were supposed to have. We *should have gotten the chocolate fondue for dessert (maybe our waitress was sending us a message?!) instead of the apple fritters. The apple fritters were terrible - stale, rock hard, and the ice cream it came with tasted like it was in the freezer for months.

Caren S.

Yelp
We had so much fun at the "bar" the other night. Great vibes all around, the music, and hand crafted cocktails made by Ethan were great. He is so knowledgable about each cocktail he created and is fun to chit-chat with. Excited to come back during the summer to a whole new list of cocktails.

Yelp
We came here on the last night of our honeymoon in banff and everything was amazing!! Service was lovely and the food was to die for. I wish we would have saved room for dessert!

Yelp
We came here with a party of 4 after a long hike. The views of Lake Louise were stunning from all seats in the restaurant. The restaurant had a really intimate vibe, as it was pretty small and enclosed. We ordered the Aspen Ridge Beef Tenderloin, Classic Vienna Pork Schnitzel, a kid's meal steak, and the Black Truffle cheese fondue appetizer. While the cheese fondue was delicious, I don't think it was worth the price of 48 CAD, as it only came with pieces of bread, and a very small plate of vegetables to dip. Our mains took a while to arrive, around an hour after we sat down. I definitely thought the stars of the night were the main courses. The Schnitzel was perfectly crispy and really savory. The Beef Tenderloin has a great flavor, and the sides (potatoes purée and veggies) were delicious and really made the dish. The kid's meal steak was a really generous portion for only 14 CAD. By the time our mains came, we were already pretty full from the fondue, so if I were to come back, I'd probably skip on the fondue. Overall, a really nice and relaxing dining experience with great views!

Yelp
We were visiting Canada to ski in February and wanted a traditional Swiss meal. We had heard Asher was a remarkable and extremely knowledgeable waiter and we lucked out to come in for our reservation at the very moment that was Asher's turn up. We loved the dining experience because we followed Asher's suggestions in food and drink. Yum for all of it ...especially the ambiance.
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Save your money. Worst dining experience in Lake Louise and at the Fairmont. The food was lousy and we waited a long time to get it. The only good point of the experience was my glass of Super Tuscan. Otherwise - not good.
google avatar

Brandon Z.

Yelp
This was one of our favourite meals on the trip. Service was amazing. Asher our waiter was excellent. Pretzel bread with whipped butter (save some to dip in the fondue). We got the half fondue and it was plenty for two people to share. The schnitzel was super crispy and huge. Halibut was cooked with a nice crust but a little small on the sides. The chocolate fondue for dessert was amazing and the home made marshmallows was my favourite part. It was expensive but worth the experience and the view of the lake.

Yelp
We were able to book a dinner during our stay at Chateau Lake Louise. The interior of this restaurant is much darker and Old Europe kind of ambience. The room we were seated in didn't have a better view of the lake compared to Fairview restaurant (your best view would be seated right at the window). But there was a huge wine wall that's was definitely impressive. Service was excellent and hospitable. We didn't pay too much attention to the menu because we were already set on ordering the fondue set (chateau experience) that most of the reviews mention. In fact, the four other tables in the same room as us had ordered the same. The children's menu is exactly the same as the Fairview restaurant too. Now for the chateau experience, it was good, but yes, like another reviewer here, for $89 per person (minimum of 2 to order this menu option), it was slightly underwhelming, but we did it for the experience. You can definitely taste the mushroom in the fondue. There was a lot of bread and I think the pretzel buns were actually fresher & tastier. I get that the sour apples and pickles were to cut the heaviness of the cheese, but I was hoping for a little more than that. The main course was lovely, although we both had to order the same type of doneness for the meat since we had to share the platter (my husband prefers more undercooked while I prefer more well done). Dessert was great, my kids loved sharing the chocolate fondue with us rather than eating a cookie with candy from their kid menu. All in all, I would come back to eat here again, but maybe to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Hands down, no question asked, my favorite place in Canada so far. Came in without a reservation and they sat us in the bar area. Service was timely and attentive regardless that the bartender was filing in as our waitperson - he was unfailingly professional and quite funny. More importantly, his recommendation were spot on!!! If I could give this place 11 out of 10 stars - I'd give it 12! (I threw in the extra for the fantastic service - attentive, humorous, and just flat out awesome.) Started off with the French onion soup and two kinds of non-salty sausages topped with sauerkraut and artichoke hearts for appetizers. Then, because I was starving following an unplanned 9 mile hike, ordered the tenderloin beef with mash potatoes and seasoned veggies AND pork schnitzel with roasted potatoes and summer salad. Okay, okay: one was for mom but it was Korean style - split the plates! Now, there is steak and there is S.T.E.A.K. This one was the latter. I thought it odd that they didn't ask how I wanted the meat. Came to find out it's because they don't care how you like it - it's their recipe, their meat, and their reputation so you'll have it the way they want you to have it! And I'm thankful for it because I wouldn't have thought to ask for whatever level of cooked that was. It didn't have an "look at me - I'm your protein of the day" smell. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the marinade...a firecracker could have gone off beside me and I would have kept enjoying the meal without a blink. Not only was it the best steak I've ever had but the schnitzel was crunchy and light on the outside and tender on the inside. The red glob is a fruit jam. Was a bit surprised that they'd accompany the schnitzel with jam but now I get it - it's like leg of lamb with mint jelly. Won't have it again with the jam (though I'm sure they don't call it jam). What's amazing is that all of this was less expensive than a sushi meal that I get in HI. That's right! I'm eating more while I'm here for the next couple of days.

Yelp
We ate dinner at Walliser Stube for our anniversary during our stay at the Fairmont. We made a reservation (which they recommended) and even on a Thursday the restaurant was pretty full. The drinks were good, the food was delicious and the service was great! Plenty of dipping options for the fondue and they offered to bring more if we needed it. We told them we were celebrating our anniversary and they brought us a complimentary dessert. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Gosh I am really torn on this one. Our entrees were actually very good. Our server was great. The fondue...very heavy and definitely not sufficient quantity of dippers (such as the veggies, whatever). The chocolate fondue was good, but we just felt it needed better/fresher dippers. The whipped cream we ordered on the side seemed like it had set in the fridge pre-scooped for quite some time. Overall, a good solid choice though.
google avatar

Dane W.

Yelp
We made reservation for our anniversary and were very excited for fondue. We arrived early and our hostess very kindly seated us right away. We ordered the chateau experience, a three course meal with a wine pairing. The fondue and the wine pairings were awesome. The meat was good. The final dessert chocolate was cold because our waiter couldn't seem to find the time to light the candle. Speaking of the waiter... he was the worst I've ever had. The service is the reason for this 3 star review. We went all out with the prix fix menu and wine pairing and we were literally treated like teenagers who split one Caesar salad and ordered water. 30-40 minutes would pass after we finished a course with no one to take a plate, fill a water or bring the next course. This happened after every course. To cap it all off, at the end Mr. Absentee had the gall to bring our check with the dessert so he could rush us out. If he needed the table perhaps don't ignore us for several 40 minute stretches. All in all the food is great, the view is top notch, and the service is the absolute worst.
google avatar

D C.

Yelp
This restaurant is at the Fairmont at Lake Louise. Service. Excellent. Fondue If you like fondue, they do a great fondue here. We had the black truffle fondue with all the fixings. If you ran out of certain fixings, they would provide more. 3 Jumbo Shrimp For $9, let's just say I won't be ordering that next time. Bone In Veal Chop Probably one of the best veal chops I have ever had. So tender and flavorful. Yummy ! I would definitely order this one again.
google avatar

Yiqiu W.

Yelp
For the price of entree fondue (82 dollar), we are expecting something better than just five slices of ham and two broccoli/four carrots/a few green beans and some other miscellaneous things like peppers, pickled onions, onions. The dipping food is cheap. And somehow our fondue came so late that everyone else arrived after us already got their fondue before us. The restaurant is located in the famous Fairmont, but the food they provide at least from our experience doesn't deserve to the title.
google avatar

Roberta T.

Yelp
Delicious cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. Ok, it is pricey, but it's worth it. The fondue comes in individual sizes, but we ordered 2 different cheese fondue + 1 chocolate fondue and they were enough for 4 people. The staff were amazing. Very polite and friendly. There restaurant itself is very elegant and cozy. It is a must try restaurant around Lake Louise.

Philip S.

Yelp
While Walliser Stube is pricey, the quality of the food and service justifies the price. Asher (with help from Rex) was our waiter, and he set the tone for the extremely high level of restaurant excellence from the moment we arrived. Their three course customizable menu is the way to go, but be forewarned ... get there hungry! The servings aren't overly large, but generous - and rich - and filling (especially the fondues).
google avatar

Kitty C.

Yelp
We went after sunset, so this is only based on the food. We had the chateau experience..comes with cheese fondue, tenderloin steak, and chocolate fondue. I know it's a hotel restaurant so the price reflects that, but at least make more effort on the quality. It was very disappointing given everything else in the hotel we experienced were top notch
google avatar

Caron C.

Yelp
Get reservations in advance especially if you're not staying in the hotel because they prioritize hotel guests. We came for the fondue set course and it was pretty solid. You have the option of choosing the type of cheese and chocolate fondue and we decided on the truffle cheese fondue with the dark chocolate fondue. They both tasted exactly how you'd expect them to taste.. The truffle in the cheese wasn't that strong but the fondue pairings were great. The cheese fondue came with a lot of bread and a decent amount of veggies and green apple slices which I loved, while the chocolate fondue had a good mix of only mildly sweet fruit and banana bread (which I thought was really good paired with the chocolate). The steak we got for the entrée was done exactly the way we requested it, though the portion was a little small. I'm not 100% sold on their claim that they have the best cheese and chocolate fondue outside of Switzerland but it was pretty good.

Yelp
How can you go wrong when you look outside and the wonderful view of Lake Louise. And inside wow. Beautiful wood work, well spaced , amazing atmosphere. The food was incredible. Cheese fondu, well portioned and tasty entrees. We had the tenderloin and the schnitzel. Our waiter was great. Surprised my wife with birthday cake and an impromptu happy birthday song from friends. Wonderful night
google avatar

Yelp
By far, the best restaurant in the Fairmont Lake Louise. The ambiance is wonderful old world charm Great views of the lake and on tonight's snowy evening, all the more romantic. Excellent service and attentive staff. The dinner for two was amazing. Perfect portion of fondue followed by a perfectly prepared beef chateaubriand. The chocolate fondue dessert with quality port and schnapps rounded out the night and relaxed us for a great night sleep after a great day of skiing.

Chasing W.

Yelp
The beef tenderloin was sublime. This restaurant came highly recommended and it was on point. Excellent service and food. Will mark this as a return spot when in the area.

Wendy W.

Yelp
Amazing food in general, except for the fondu. We ordered the fondu and it's way too salty for our like, we had to give it back and ordered other dishes. I had the best schnitzel in my life, crunchy and juicy in the same time! The drinks are really nice too! Service is great! The pace is slow, so plan for a 2 hour + dinner.
google avatar

Janey M.

Yelp
We were seated promptly - with a view of the server's prep area and the parking lot. We asked if there were any other tables and told no. Within 10 minutes, half the place was empty. We would have gladly waited for a better table. Our server, Erika, was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately, not the best. At a fine dining establishment, we expected better. The flame went out on our cheese fondue twice before we finally had to flag her down to have the whole thing reheated in the kitchen, as it was cold. We overheard her tell another table about the fondue dippers, including apples. We did not get apples and stopped to tell her so. She said there should have been some, but maybe not on the appetizer portion. It was our entree. All $82 of it. Absolutely no recompense for anything. As a restaurant in the Fairmont, it should absolutely do better.

Yelp
We came here recently for dinner on our first night in Banff. This place is definitely on the pricey side as it is located in the fairmont chateau right next to lake Louise, but it was a fun and memorable dinner :) I don't think I've ever really had fondue before, only the dessert kind at melting pot once. So this dinner experience was so much fun and worth the splurge. My boyfriend and I ordered a cheese fondue (the one with garlic and morel mushrooms), this cheesy swiss noodle dish called kasespatzel, prawn cocktail, and the chocolate fondue with toblerone chocolate. I forgot how much the dinner was, but for the two of us, it cost more than $100. If you don't mind having meat, I'd recommend ordering these individual dishes a la carte instead of getting the chateau experience ($88/person) because our meal was super filling/satisfying without having to spend as much. The highlights of the meal were definitely the fondues. The cheese fondue was full of flavor and came with lots of small veggies that went perfectly with the savory cheese! I especially liked their small pickles (and typically I don't like pickles) and their onions. I would skip the cocktail shrimp. It only came with like two or three prawns which was quite disappointing... The noodles were good but heavy especially just having eaten the Swiss fondue. The dessert fondue was so good! Definitely recommend the toblerone ... Our waitress said she thinks it's too sweet but it actually wasn't (unless they accidentally gave us the dark chocolate lol)... The fruit was so sweet!! I loved the pineapples and strawberries, and banana bread! Overall it was a super fun experience!! We actually tried another place in Banff that also had fondues, but we liked this one more! Sure it's expensive, but you gotta splurge a little if on vacation:) the service was also great, and if you're lucky, you can get a nice view of lake Louise. Minus one star cuz of the price and the cocktail shrimp, but I still recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Expectations were not high for a traditional Swiss German fondue restaurant My views of fondue changed - thought only bread was to be used--instead we ordered vegetables and garlic infused with the cheese--this restaurant set an entirely new Fondue standard Trout is full fleshed and robust a strong competitor of salmon We hope to sit in the Lakeview room but we had reservations 15 minutes after they started serving thus the 8 tables were occupied --for some inexplicable reason they divided a perfectly lovely large Lakeview room with a imposing wall blocking off the natural goodness of Lake Louise for the rest of the diners

Yelp
Props for having lots of GF options -- including bread for the fondue! That was an exciting discovery. The quality of the food was really not up to the quality of the location and the high price. Definitely a compromise. The view is top notch. The food is just not properly executed -- shortcuts like canned olives, pickled ingredients from the jar, stuff like that. Not the end of the world, but a bit confusing in a time when such shortcuts are frowned upon in gourmet circles. The fish was a little salty. The implication from the menu that certain dishes are authentically Swiss; um, we have been to Switzerland and these are adaptations. We weren't impressed by our food, though aspects of each dish we ordered were good. For a dining establishment that presents itself as high end, the service should be crisp and professional. Our server was nice and well meaning but didn't seem thoroughly trained in a polished delivery. Overall, our impression was that the hotel isn't prioritizing the details of a high-end experience, coasting instead on the view and the constant stream of one-time customers.

Yelp
Food was terrific. Karley and Ashley on the front and who later served us were the sweetest and probably the best service we had at the Fairmont. What an asset. Thanks again.

Yelp
This was an amazing, romantic restaurant to come to while staying at the Chateau Lake Louise. When you walk in the restaurant is a little narrow and opens up to a back area. We were seated beside a window overlooking the lake, which was awesome! Our server was fantastic too; he was very knowledgeable on the various wines they offered and on the food they served. We oped for the full fondue dinner($95/person - go big or go home, right?) The food was phenomenal. I'm used to the heavier cheese dish at the Melting Pot however this one (we opted for the traditional) was nice and light - a great starter fondue. The meat fondue was amazing and the toblerone chocolate fondue - omg. I wish there were more! I'm not sure if it was because we were overly chatty but we had all the restaurant staff come chit chat with us over the course of the meal. Lots of fun, jokes and what not. We even made friends with another table and were talking with them over their fondue options vs ours. Overall it was a fantastic date night/meal and I'm sure we'll be making reservations once again next time we are in Lake Louise. I'd recommend making reservations too!

Yelp
With a menu made of mainly of high-priced fondue, this is a place that needs to supplement the food with great service and atmosphere and for the most part delivers on that. We had a cheese fondue with porcini mushrooms and shrimp cocktail starter. The shrimp cocktail was very nice with a half dozen large, beautifully poached shrimp served over a mix of greens and smaller shrimp dressed in a cognac mayo. It was very good and a worthy of the near $20 price. The roasted garlic and porcini mushroom fondue was very rich with good flavour. It was served with some poached vegetable and a basket of bread. It was too much for one person, if sharing the $40 price is not outlandish. It was a nice dinner, with attentive service and nice surroundings with a view of the lake. Probably wouldn't visit again, but was glad to have the chance.

Yelp
If you're ever in Lake Louise/Banff you should definitely try to eat here! My family is a big fondue fan, so we decided to get both the cheese and meat fondues. We also wanted to try the raclette so we got one order of that too. All of it newly beat homemade fondue! The cheese was perfectly melted and had some spices and garlic mixed in. We ordered the meat fondue with beef and bison - both tasted amazing and were so tender! You almost didn't want to use the complimentary dipping sauces. We also ordered cocktails before dinner - I can't remember the name of the one I got exactly, but it had the word 'fizz' in is. It was really fresh and tasty, it had cucumber in it... Not really helpful. The restaurant is pretty cozy and has a view of Lake Louise. Since I was there during wintertime the view didn't really matter - it was just dark and icy outside! I can imagine the view being amazing in the summer. The waiters were really attentive and friendly too, which made the experience even better!

Yelp
The place is too fancy for me. Yet here we were, and we basked in the beauty of the lake in an essentially private room while gorging on a sweet array of fruits and chocolate fondue. Very nice treat! I honestly didn't pay attention to what else they had. End.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice dinner here with my husband while staying at the Fairmont for our babymoon. We had a fantastic view of the lake and we both had the fondue. (I had the traditional and he had the truffle.) Based on the portion size, we quickly realized we easily could have shared one pot, but instead we are too much and felt sick after. The fondue had excellent flavor and is probably tied for first place for the best fondue I've ever had. Oh, we started off with the onion soup which was also quite tasty, but I would probably skip the soup and go straight for the hot pot of bubbling cheese next time.

Yelp
On a bit of a lark, a group of friends and I went over to the Fairmont to check out Lake Louise and the hotel after taking a day off of skiing with hiking and hot springing. We wanted to check out one of the restaurants at the Fairmont, but they were all booked up (Family Day) when we got our act together. Tut the host and the bartender were kind enough to arrange for us to eat at the bar. And it was a glorious meal! Kai, was very attentive and was able to provide impeccable service while still making drinks for the rest of the restaurant as well. And everything we had was spot on. Normally there is a dish or drink that rates a smidge lower due to personal preference or what not - but everything we ate was amazing the cheese fondue, the sturgeon crudo, the chateaubriand, the salmon, and both chocolate fondues. Also with the fondues - it was unlimited refills on the dipping condiments. You had to roll me out of there. Kai also made some wonderful drinks and was able to make every kind of drink that my group wanted - sweet, sour, dry, wine recommendations, locally produced liquor. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I hope to come back again!

Yelp
After hiking 13 miles and conquering the Devil's Thumb we were looking forward to a relaxing dinner with some great cheese fondue, wine and a view. The wine and view were nice, but the fondue was disappointing to say the least. The cheese was fairly bland and overly creamy, and the portion was rather paltry. But the saddest part was that, despite ordering the $82 meat plate, the best accompaniment was the bread. The plate of dippers came with what seemed like mostly canned pickles and onions. There were two pieces of raw broccoli and the meat consisted of about 5 slices of salami and a little ham. We were planning to stay for chocolate fondue as well, but after that experience we chose to grab a brownie at the deli next door instead.

Yelp
Amazing! Great view! Great service! Great food! We stayed in Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel for 3 nights. This restaurant open from 17:30 to 21:30 only. I reserved a table for two in the early morning.
