Just stopped in. Didn't know anything about the. The breakfast was delicious!! The bacon cooked perfectly and the home fries, were different!! Seemed to be deep fried. Not greasy but crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. So good I didn't put ketchup on them, like always do. And the eggs were scrambled and very cheesy. I will definitely go back.

The hype is real. Quality dogs, impressive variety of toppings/styles, and options for everyone including smashburgers and chicken sandwiches. Don’t sleep on the breakfast menu, as well. Quiet for lunch on a Wednesday but friendly folks and some great draft beer options!

Full Bar, expresso, Custom House coffee & Tractor Juice; a full Tree o' Martinis, not just 3, for your party's reveling boost. Warm accents of The Copper Club, a speakeasy vibe, hiding above the street-level hub-bub. Hand-smashed homefries, Wally's style, full-size, flavor & crisp; why doesn't everyone make them like this? Destination-quality pancakes, thick, but airy; generously covered in blue & straw-berries. The holiday special Lobster under luscious Eggs Benedict; 'nuf said, who knew? Just look at the pic! Awesome staff, with ATTITUDE!, to make this your comeback-to place, for fun, drink, and/or food. Worth the drive from Montana, to see our Kat, and the dogs. March '25 Update: Tried 3 different weiner options and the onion rings. Oh my! All good; real good! Worth the trip to see Kat again and try the dogs, on the way home to Montana.

I rarely give 5 stars but this place truly deserves it. The hot dogs were great. Wally's and Rhody. The dark espresso martini was great. They have good Wally's swag too. The server was nice. Service is fast. It was clean inside. Parking is a pain in a butt, but that's Newport for you. I will definitely come back.

My wife and I stopped here while roading tripping New England in the fall. I grabbed a cocktail and she had a beer. I ordered the Wally dog and the Jammin, and she has the watermelon salad. The food was quick and very good. The staff was friendly and the other patrons were as well. I highly recommend stopping in for a dog. Easy 5*

Saw their Weiner Wagon rolling around town and scoped out their storefront. We ended up here two days in a row so we could try lots of dogs and because it was just plain yummy. Everything was flavorful and all the combos worked surprisingly well on a hot dog. They also have an awesome martini menu, but we didn’t get any unfortunately. Staff was all friendly and attentive.

Amazing gem hidden on Thames Street. Delicious and varied selection of hot dogs and foods, friendly staff, accommodating bartender, and even some fun shirts for sale. Worth multiple visits!

This is a great place! Service was great. 8 happened to notice a martini decorated little tree at someone's table while we were waiting for our take out order. It was so good looking! Great experience for anyone looking for good food in Newport.

A place that specializes in hot dogs and espresso martinis?!! Yes please!!! The Rhody hotdog is very tasty. Their smash burgers are popular too so I tried their chopped cheese and it was very tender and flavorful. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty too. Really delicious martinis. Mine was peanut butter cup flavored and I loved it. My boyfriend loved his salted caramel one too. Really cool ambiance and decor. It's a great place to hang out. Excellent, fast, and friendly service. Two levels so plenty of seating. Full bar upstairs. I would like to come back because their whole menu looks great. They even have a breakfast menu.

Would give zero starts if I could for service. Cannot speak of the food as we were not able to try it. Were added to the waitlist and told it would be approximately 35 mins and we would receive a text when availability for our party of three was ready. Confirmed the number with the hostess and left. After 40 minutes with still no text we walked back to the restaurant. Hostess did not remember us but claimed she had texted and she had held our table for 10 mins and then given it away. She offered to add us to the hour long wait list again and offered no apology. Awful customer service. Don't waste your time going there since Newport offers many other great restaurant options!

This is NOT your average wiener joint. Their theme of weenies and martinis is absolutely on point. They excel at both of these things. But, fear not, this is not allllllll they do. Have a hankering for a burger? Wanna be healthy and get a salad? More of a chicken person? They've got you covered. Most excitingly for this reviewer, I can, as a Celiac sufferer (not a word, I know, but it is now! Ha!), I can actually enjoy a hot dog. Whatever wizardry goes into making these rolls, I genuinely cannot tell a difference. The service was quick and friendly. Do yourself a favor and get an espresso martini (or two!).

It was my first time here and I loved it! The vibes were high and the staff was very friendly. It was busy but we got a table quickly and the food came out so quick. I loved the jammin hot dog and the big mac hot dog and both were AMAZING! The burger sauce was top tier. We were too full to drink our whole martini but it was delicious. 10/10 recommend.

I really enjoyed the laid back vibes of Wally's! The staff were very friendly and even let us order a nonalcoholic drink (ice tea) into the dog bowl! The wieners were delicious and among my favorites were the elote dog and the Wally dog! Definitely will be coming back to try some other items.

We've been hearing about Wally's since they opened. While I'm not a big burger or dog girl, my partner is & has been bugging to give it a try. So, with the summer crowds now thinned & parking available, we stopped by for lunch. We couldn't resist ordering the $4 Hamm's Lager 16 oz can, if just for the fun of it! How can you go wrong? My opinion was that it tasted like something my Dad would drink ( not such a good thing ). He, on the other hand, found it ok & refreshing, saying "I've had worse". For food, he couldn't decide between a burger or dog & went for something of a combo - the Dirty Dog with chopped cheese. The topping was a bit chunkier than I've seen before & it was a well seasoned, ample sandwich. I went with the Chicken & Cheese - kinda their interpretation of Chicken & Waffles. The waffle base was a familiar food service Belgian waffle product I've seen before. Not that this is a bad thing - they are decent. The chicken was tasty - crunchy & well seasoned strips with a perfect balance of hot honey drizzle. The mac & cheese component I found to be a bit bland. Could definitely have been much cheesier. The sandwiches are served ala carte, so we added on a side of Crab Fries. Originally from the mid-Atlantic, these were a taste of home for me & we're just right. The service is friendly & efficient, the decor is fun & warm. A cracked window on a beautiful fall day brought in pleasant sea breezes. There's a fun cocktail menu that we did not get to explore & we've heard word that there's a cool speakeasy upstairs as well too. For a hot dog joint, prices add up quick - it's not a cheap lunch to be sure. But, then again, it is Newport...

The spot is quaint. Takeout was a breeze. The hot dog doesn't seem to have natural casing since there were no snap in the bite. It's a pork and beef blend. The bread not toasted. Made it kind of basic. The burger was $9 and not worth it... look around for another burger joint to try. This is cute but basic.

No parking. Small dining area. Staff very good. Great food. Bathrooms need updating.

One of the coolest and best dining experience I had while in Newport. Right in the middle of old town Newport, great location, and great food and drinks. If you love espresso martinis you HAVE to try this place. The PB&J martini, White Chocolate Raspberry martini were both great. They also have hot chocolate cocktails which were amazing. The Dirty Dog was excellent, crumbled burger meat and beer cheese, so good! The bartender was incredible, really great drinks and was super helpful with her suggestions on food and which martini to get. Inside has a cool 50's diner vibe. They have an upstairs too with more seating.

It was so good, we went here twice in 2 days!!! The French fries and homemade ranch are super good. There's a ton of varieties of yummy hot dogs. The burgers are so good, although it might be worth adding the second patty since they are smash burgers. The chicken on the sandwiches is super tender and without any "weird" bits. Staff was friendly and service was quick. The buffalo sauce for the Barkin Buffalo chicken sandwich was great and not too hot. Seating can be a little cramped, but they make it work. The menu is big and they have tons of options, and good specials each day too. Given that it is downtown Newport, parking can be a little tough. The value was really good too. Our dinner (and lunch the next day!) for 2 was right around $30, which is super good nowadays. And that's with tip and tax! Definitely don't miss out on this place, and it's funny name.

My crew had been given the night off, not to mention it was the bosses treat. I have been coming to Newport since 2011 almost every summer and I have never been here. This place is worth every penny. They were able to seat 8 of us upstairs. This place has a lot of atmosphere and it almost seems like everyone in there cannot wait to sink their teeth into one of Wally's... um dogs. I decided to share a burger and a dog as well as some garlic fries with one of my crew members , since I didn't want to miss out on anything. This place is so worth it, I recommend you try it at least once and I almost bet you will be back for more. Did I almost forget to mention they have a great variety of espresso martini's... I went with the peanut butter cup. I can't wait to come back.

Really good dogs!!! Wish our first experience wasn't takeout but we weren't able to eat inside and really wanted to try this spot. I LOVED the Chicago dog and my husband's favorite was the Elote. The weiners are perfect and had a great snap. The fries we ordered had a disappointing presentation and looked like someone just tossed everything in a takeout box. Nothing like the pictures we saw here and online when eating in... posting these to show how they come when you order online. But they were tasty and still crispy when we got home a few minutes away. Full transparency: I did reach out to the restaurant via DM and they offered to remake our fries or give us a refund. I declined because the food was very good and didn't feel right getting the refund, but wanted to let the team know regardless for future customers.

Espresso martinis at the bar are the best here! I know that's kind of odd for a hot dog specialty space, but it was delicious! The atmosphere was really nice and casual, not a whole lot of pressure to order a lot. The bartender was nice and helped explain the menu. We ended up choosing the "light" espresso martini, which was indeed "light." I think coffee lovers might enjoy the dark espresso martini better. Interior of restaurant is pretty casual.

Wieners: Wally, Classic, BBQ Bacon Cheddar and Chili Cheese. Yummy all around but the dogs tasted a littttttle healthy, almost like they were turkey or the low fat variety. The sauce and bacon crumbles really saved the day. My favorite was the BBQ Bacon Cheddar closely followed by the Wally. While the PB Cup espresso martini was delicious, i couldn't taste a hint of nut. This made me sad because it was the item I looked forward to enjoying most. The seating upstairs was cute. The darkness was a complete contrast to the bright airiness of the first floor and also more effectively cooled - a pleasant surprise for a sweaty, post-museum-stroll-me.

Took a trip to Newport just to check this place out! All the staff is super friendly! We got the giant espresso martini, you can choose between light and dark. They also have other great cocktail choices. Also tried the Pb&j espresso martini which was also good! Their food is also really good! Try the Wally sauce! The food was good size portions and will fill you up. Don't be fooled when you walk in they have more seating upstairs. Bar area is small but they're great about moving to the bar once there's room.

Best espresso martinis in all of Newport!! Also great smash burgers & hot dogs!! Great, fast service too. Will definitely be back

Cute place on the main drag! Server was super kind and accommodated our group of 4 when there was only a 2 person table available at first, really appreciated that. We got the roasted veg dog, the Rhody dog, and one more I can't remember the name of but it was like a cheeseburger kind of - they were all amazing. The Rhody was exceptional. Fries were hot and crispy.

There's very few things in life that I love more than I love a hot dog so this place is everything and more to me. My friends and I went here as a pregame to our night out and had a bit of a different experience than we normally do- I think it was senior day/night (unsure) but there were so many people there that it kind of made everything a little delayed and there were lots of different waitstaff coming up to us not knowing if we had been served or not. Regardless though they tried their best to get us what we needed despite the fact that there was an unusual amount of people there. Anyways- I ordered the "Classic" hot dog and my friend got the "Wally". 10/10. Amazing. Love it. They give you a very generous amount of toppings on the hotdogs and I could honestly eat 10 of them they're so good. We also got white tea shots and highnoons. Everything was super good even though it was incredibly busy I don't feel like the quality changed at all.

Found out about this place on trolley tour in Newport. The driver said it was a place to get a hot dog and expresso martini, which I've been trying at most places that serve them on my trip. There are about 8 seats at the bar, with a large tv showing sports and 6-8 tables. I sat at the bar and ordered the golden milk expresso martini, classic hot dog, and onion rings. I noticed some items came with Wally sauce, so I asked my server about it. She gave me a small cup to dip my dog and rings in. Yummy!! The server was friendly, helpful, and checked in with me. I mentioned it was a trolley driver who pointed out the place and she was pleased to hear of the recommendation. Fun place!

This place came highly recommended from Tiktok and did not disappoint. We got the smash burger, kimchi wiener, and the Thames street fries. My personal favorite was the fries and are probably my favorite fries ever. The perfect amount of crunch mixed with great sauce. The kimchi wiener was a bit spicy so be warned. The smash burger is great but falls apart a bit. Overall, 10/10. Great food, great service, great vibe!

Wallys did not disappoint! Creative topping combinations make this place stand out. Perfect for a quick lunch with the family. We tried the big mac dog, bbq bacon chedder, and spicy kraut. The corndog bites were the perfect shareable app too!

Reasonable prices and cozy atmosphere! I tried the Kimchi Hotdog and it was a little spicy, but definitely one of the most creative hotdogs I have had! I'll have to recreate this next time I have a cookout (this weekend). It was $6.50 so I can't complain! Service was prompt as well!

Not what you'd expect, but this is the place for espresso martinis!! Absolutely some of the best we've had! Highly recommend the salted caramel espresso martini & the white mocha raspberry espresso martini. As you'd probably expect, the hot dogs were great as well. The restaurant is small, but cute & feels like an old diner with a fresh twist. The servers were busy, but friendly.

Stopped by Wally's Wieners for lunch during my trip to Newport. On a Friday afternoon it was pretty lively! I ordered a dark espresso martini and a Chicago hot dog but substituted for the vegan dog. The hot dog was great! My fiancé ordered wings with the Wally sauce which he thought was a little underwhelming. Food came out very fast and our servers are great. Would recommend to try this place!

Managed to catch breakfast here with colleagues. Very happy the owner was amenable to allowing a class here in their speak easy bar upstairs. The food was good and portioned perfectly. Even one of the guys who didn't plan to eat, saw the food and decided to order. The service was great. He was attentive, planned ahead with waters and coffee so we didn't have to keep asking, and was attentive without being disruptive to our group meeting. The vibe is perfect. The bar is designed like an upscale speakeasy of that time and it's quaint enough for dating. I had the 401 which was egg white, spinach omelet with a fruit cup. They use real eggs, the fruit was fresh and the feta was great but I wanted just a bit more. It was not goat feta. Which was fine by me. The cocktails looked great and everyone else was happy with their meals. Thanks for letting us occupy your space and for the great service!

Phenomenal service. We came in and were seated and drink order taken within minutes. The menu had something for everyone including my toddler. After we made up our minds to try the Rhody, BBQ bacon cheddar, plain, and Mac Daddy weiners with sides of onion rings, fries, and fried pickles we waited maybe 5 minutes for our order to come out. Everything was hot and made perfectly. The Carolina gold sauce is delicious and worth a try for sure! The fried pickles were the best side, a close second going to the onion rings. All the weiners were amazing and we all agreed we would order them again. It's a fun little place down on Thames St and it makes total sense why this place has such a great word of mouth recommendation from locals and tourists alike! Will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed this unique bar and restaurant in downtown Newport. Located on the popular Thames Street, there is street parking and parking lots available for hourly paid parking. The restaurant was busy on a weekend, so reservations are recommended. We sat upstairs and ordered the giant espresso martini (for two or more people to share per the menu), the popcorn chicken, and the BBQ fries. Everything was delicious, and the drink was amazing!

My first time here was for a private event in the upstairs bar. The space is very modern and cool. I really liked how there was a main room which was great for large groups but also a smaller side area that was smaller and better for quieter, casual conversations. The food was good. The event preordered a bunch of burgers, dogs, fries, Onion Ringzzz, and Fried Chicken. Everything was tasty but since it was buffet style, it did get a little cool by the time most people were eating. The staff was fun and helpful. The bar tender was super efficient and made great drinks. The wait staff was very attentive and went quickly to grab anything we thought of (extra sauce, utensils for scooping fries, etc). A hot dog place isn't your usual Newport fare but this place is worth a visit during that daylight for good food and after dark for some good vibes and great cocktails.

Wow from top to bottom the experience was fantastic. The service the food. I had a smash burger. The quality of the burger was like no other. Fresh jalapeños fresh roll like a martins potato roll but better. I can't say enough about this place. Don't pass it up. Open late

After taking some visiting family on a trolley mansion tour and doing a lot of walking we wanted food so we headed over to Thames St and decided to hit up Wally's Weiners for lunch. What an experience! So many hot dog choices you're bound to find something you want. Seating available downstairs and upstairs. Super friendly staff and the dogs were tasty!! Paid parking lot available nearby.

Super cool spot to hangout drink some espresso martinis. Fun vibes and real cool menu. Causal spot for a good drink and bite that won't break the bank.

Really fun place, dogs are fine, drinks are great but the combination of the vibe and friendly fun people make it well worth the trip, oh and if you like espresso martinis(I don't) they have a ton of different ones!

Great place for cheap eats in the area. They are open late with a nice selection of burgers and hotdogs that are delicious. Great service, might need to wait to get a seat. Just means good food and ambiance awaits.

We've been coming here for a few years in the summer. Always good burgers and drinks. I know it's a locals spot for sure but always enjoyed it. This year we had a bad experience with the staff.... Quite rude to my wife and friends after we told everyone in our group that Wallys was a great spot. Maybe it was a bad night for the ladies working but I don't see us going back after the way they treated us.

Ambiance/service: arrived around 9pm, the place was packed! Even so the staff immediately attended to me providing me with a menu and to let them know when I was ready to order. I ordered takeout, given the amount of people there. Friendly and welcoming staff!! Food: ordered a BBQ bacon wiener and the barkin buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were carefully packaged! The wiener was simple yet delicious, as was the sandwich. Both items were full of flavor and satisfying enough to warrant me to return to try other items! Highly recommend! Great place!

Loved loved loved this place! Of course we came across Wally's Weiners on Yelp and I couldn't wait to try! We had a night out in Newport and this is the BEST lunch for the next day. It felt like I was in a family members kitchen waiting for my food. My burger was so good - perfect size, toppings and burger and the crab fries were next level. Wish we could have stayed and tried a few cocktails. But the food made this a great lunch spot in Newport!

Stopped in for breakfast and was very impressed. We had walked by this location a few times during our Newport Weekend and decided to try breakfast here. They have extra seating upstairs so it was quick to get a table and order our food. Their home fries were amazing! Seasoned well and tasty! I had the breakfast BLT on Bolo Bread and the Wally's sauce really pulled it all together. Would recommend for a cheap and tasty breakfast in Newport!

Decent food in a pinch. Friendly staff and a spacious restaurant between the upstairs and downstairs. Strange vibe and unique seating layout. Eating upstairs had more room, but was more like a hodge podge of tables and chairs. Nothing matched between the booths, bar, and tables + chairs. Infrequent visits to the table from the waitress. Ordered the following: Buffalo fries - solid German Weiner - would get again, but nothing special Bacon Crispy Chicken with Ranch - pass. Both the bacon and chicken tasted burnt and was too crispy. Lowkey think I cut the roof of my mouth. Not enough ranch either. Good bun tho Probably would try something new next time

Really cool vibes inside this place. Cute merch, laid back decor. Staff was so so friendly, we sat at the bar and loved chatting with the bartender. The hot dogs were phenomenal, espresso martini was top notch and the friend pickles were yummy! You gotta stop here if you are in Newport!
