I'm rating the customer service experience I had today at Walmart. Jeff was very helpful and knowledgeable about what I needed for a mobile phone! He even suggested the perfect cell phone case/ protector for me. He made things super easy and efficient for me. Thanks! And, the price was great.

It's a walmart but not a super walmart. Limited grocery items and no fruit and vegetables fresh food or delicatessen. Staff are usually friendly and helpful, and the pharmacy is an awesome experience, the staff here are second to none.Theyre polite, kind and even funny on occasions hehe. Unlike most of the big chain locations this is a very friendly walmart. The staff are all very nice.

Covered all of my American department store consumption needs! Picked up loads of bags of 'candy' to take home to the family 😅

Usually when I go to Walmart each year in Newport, I get great deals and get my shopping cart filled up for less than $150. However my last visit we got only five or six items and paid $70. We were very underwhelmed by what we purchased the people there the people working there and the disorderliness of the entire store. I expected much more from our visit.

The store was extremely clean. Well stocked for the size. The staff was not helpful though. My family and I went in, spent about $200. We wanted a beach chair that was not on the sales floor. They were in the warehouse section of the floor. We went through 3 employees, none of which were willing to help. The most useless and rudest was Gabriel. The store manager Patrick did make it right and solved it very easily.

When I got there, the ambulance was there for someone... Then inside, as I was checking out, a fight almost broke out between a customer and one of the employees. The cashier was laughing it off nervously. "Never a dull moment", she said. Very disturbing.

it's an okay store. so it's smaller than the usual Walmarts along with their Market section! if you need something quick and you know what you want it's great for that. if you want to experience a full fledged Walmart with large grocery section, and other well stocked areas then this is not the place

A typical Walmart experience is the norm here. What is that? Employees trained to be guard dogs instead of assisting customers. Locked merchandise with employees who can unlock said items staffed in non locked merchandise areas as far away as possible. Rows of empty registers while a line snakes back to customer service and into product aisles. Employees standing at the door doing the bare minimum as the self service line balloons. That said, it's one of the better Walmarts in the state.

One of the few big box stores on Aquickneck Island. This Walmart is not far from the exit that is at the end of the road that you take after taking the Newport Bridge. I went to get some soft drinks for a get together and they had a large selection of them...mostly populated by the Coca Cola and Pepsi brand products, but they also had their generic Great Value label and some smaller ones. Easy and convenient.

Okay hear me out! This Walmart is giving me very much '90s/early 2000s vibes before Walmart started carrying groceries. This is probably the strangest Walmart I've ever patronized, and I'm not quite sure why it is set up the way it is, to be honest (I think it stays alive because there's an actual grocery store a few doors down). It's odd - like parts of it are what you might see in any other Walmart (outdoors/bikes for example), but it's almost more heavy on the clothing side and less so on the household goods and groceries side. It's like an abbreviated version of a standard Walmart. They have a much smaller selection than a regular Walmart, and there is zero produce. The reefer/freezer section is one aisle (frozen on one side, refrigerated on the other). The service seems fine (I used self-checkout both times I went, so can't say for sure), but just know that if you're expecting a regular Walmart, that's not what you're going to find here.

I was walking out with 5 milk after checking it out at the service desk, when I was walking by the lunatic receipt checker, he did not bat an eye or anything but the moment I walked out of the main door. He was screaming and coming to check my receipt outside the store. Hire better workers Walmart. Jesus Christ.

I was very unimpressed with this Walmart. I visited during my 30th birthday celebration looking for some snacks and drinks. The outside was sketchy. I'd feel uncomfortable going here alone at night. There were no Halloween decorations out in late September and was bummed about not finding anything to decorate my place with. The snacks area was dimly lit and a lot of items were out of stock. We decided to make it a quick trip and leave (we mentioned that we should have just gone to Stop and Shop instead). I would not visit here again.

This place needs a makeover. I needed to get a couple of things to make my life easier on travel. You know the standard: water, soda, small snacks, and toiletries. Well this Walmart is behind the hotel (I know you read my Homewood Suites review) I'm staying at. I came here for convince because I would have driven right by it with how old this place looks. It's not a Super Walmart but it doesn't need to in this area. It appears to be one of the smaller Walmart's I've ever been too and even through the selection is small on things like cloths and household goods it's enough to get you going. There's no place to put a gas station and speaking of no; there's no produce section or McDonald's inside. That's a first for me, just like the Walmart music playing over the PA system is from them. No joke you can actually hear them say "This is you local Walmart Radio Station". What there's a DJ in the music section flipping tracks? Now I have to listen at all the Walmart's to find out if this is only a Middletown original. Now this place needs a makeover badly. Floor needs replacement but not near the checkout stands because that would remove the price stickers they neatly put on the floor. Roof tiles need redone and since they sell paint, they could use some touch ups. Overall three stars. My suggestion get what you want and leave. Now excuse me, I'm trying to catch that tune over the PA. Wait is that the theme to Brady Bunch?!?!?! M

Compared to other Walmarts in under an hour radius this one is pretty small and outdated. They have a very limited grocery selection with no produce. Aisles are cramped together, and things are not organized as well as other Walmarts. Service is usually friendly at the registers and they often have what I need. Just could use a major renovation!

A few years back, someone tried to set a fire in this store. I kind of get why every time I am in this store. The staff through out the store are very rude, but give Cindi, who works at the service desk, a prize. She is absolutely horrible and demeans customers. This store is extremely dated and dirty. I only go to this store to pick things up for work. Otherwise I refuse to shop here.

This is a Walmart. Meaning, it's large enough to get lost in, and yet they don't seem to have anything you'd actually want to buy. Also, the customer service is abysmal, and no one knows whether or not they stock essentials like slip 'n' slides (they don't, because they switch the novelty items over to Halloween in early September). That said, they did have a sweet "Minions" piñata that made our friend's birthday/life.

I tried to call their customer service desk to ask a question and I waited on the phone with them for 11:00 minutes and they just didn't pick up. I tried calling a few times throughout the day and my calls were never answered. The selection isn't the best for this Walmart either when it comes to cleanliness nor customer service.

Probably the worst Walmart I've been to in a while. That being said, it is a Walmart so if your looking for a large selection of reasonably priced stuff it is what it is. This is not a super Walmart so groceries and food are limited at best. The lighting is awful, and the store is dated and not so clean. There is a dunkin donuts inside the store, but there are 8 other dunkin donuts in newport/Middletown so I probably wouldn't go here if you were looking for donuts. On the plus side there's a stop and shop in the plaza so you can buy Walmart stuff and then get groceries without going multiple places if you'd like.

I LOVE WALMART!! Why isn't there a Walmart in New York City! Whenever I am in town. Walmart pit stop is a must to stock up on necessities! This would have been a five star kind of review but 1) I have to say it is annoying that their shelves are not always fully restock. It is always the Neutrogena face washes and make up removers are constantly OUT OF STOCK. 2) & to be honest some of their employees are not so nice with their hardcore staring. I get it maybe you guys don't see a lot of Asian people besides walking into a Chinese food restaurant but don't stare so hard and then decide to roll your eyes afterwards. Not nice!

Dirty. Cluttered. Small. Probably the most poorly managed Wal-Mart location I have ever seen in over three decades of shopping with this franchise. Customer service person (I believe her name was Cindy) was absolutely rude. Not sure why Wal-Mart, who usually sets pretty high standards for customer service and cleanliness, hasn't dealt with this location yet. A quick scan of their yelp reviews paints a pretty accurate picture of the dismal shape this store is in.

Walmarts are all the same. You need one in every area . The best prices and they have everything from clothes to hardware to toys,etc. it's a great go to store and now there is super Walmart which has s grocery store . What more could you ask for. Lower prices with a great selection . It's not my favorite place to deal with only because it's always so busy. Cleaning products are the best savings just a little after thought.:)

This is a small Walmart located right outside the base on a small island. There are a lot of cash registers open at any given time. It is decent to pick up odds and ends, but I would recommend buying groceries elsewhere. It's a decent place to look for things like curtain rails, step ladders, and random shelving. The only real experience where I needed the staff is when I purchased a shelving system that lacked the pieces to finish building it. The staff was nice enough to accept the return since I couldn't canabalize another shelving package since it was the only one they had. It isn't anything special, if you are coming to a Walmart looking for a Tiffany's experience, enjoy the crack you are smoking...

Got here @7:50pm to literally just grab shampoo & they turned me away because they close @8p & "there were too many people already".... Ok no, you at least should stay open until the last minute...

This is one of the worst Walmart's I have ever shopped at! The layout of the store makes no sense at all! It's difficult to find anything you are looking for. The lines are always long and take forever to cash out. I only shop here when I'm at TJ Maxx and don't want to stop at another location.

Do you like shopping in messy stores? Do you like being yelled at by cashiers? Do you like said cashiers being so close to your face that their spit is flying in your mouth? If so, SHOP AT THIS WAL-MART! However, I do not think anyone on Yelp! is a lunatic so they probably won't like those things. This Wal-Mart is small, unorganized, fully staffed but no one is ever around to help you, and the customer service is horrendous. Even if all you need is a tube of toothpaste, please do yourself a favor and pay the extra 50 cents at Stop n' Shop.

Ah, NOW I know why they're widely regarded as "evil" ... There's no Rice Vinegar! Bastards! They hate Asians! I saw it for myself, in aisle 12. (Though not really aisle 12 - it just rhymes with 'self', you see). Also, get this: cat food. We've got my baby on the 'Elegant Medleys' and while yes I do agree that perhaps choosing 'elegant' food for your cat does indeed mandate a punishable pricetag... .76 per can still beats the local grocer at .89. BUT! Get this: McQuades would NEVER try and dupe you into buying a 12-pack for $9.48. Yeah, I whipped out my calculator, and ya know what .76 x 12 = $9.12. DON'T TRUST EM.

Very rude customer service at the return department. Had bought a Jeep suitcase from here for $80 with lifetime warranty that was the sticker on the bag. Approached the manufacturer as it cracked in the middle no email back or call back. Their web site says go to the retailer which in this case is Walmart firm no says can't do anything (Please get in touch with manufacturer). You guys being so big can't toss customers like this. Why don't you approach as you have the rights and details of the company. Otherwise don't mis market bags with lifetime warranty for $80. I did call Walmart head quarter after about waiting for 10 minutes on the phone got a person listen to my query and end of the conversation said call the store manager. P.S Staff in the store was very nice but did not have access to solve the issue. Called the Newport Store manager was very rough on the phone.

Honestly the worst store I've ever shopped. Staff in the the store itself were fantastic and knowledgeable. Shelves were more or less empty (after Xmas but I can't imagine that there was a huge gift giving of throw rugs). I walked around for almost an hour as nothing was in the place it should have been. When I finally went to cash out, 9 lights were on with no cashiers. There were several standing around in a corner, none paying any attention. One cashier was standing at a register, light off, not paying any attention. I asked her if she was open and she blankly stared at me. I asked her again and she mumbled something. I said I'm asking because your light is off and she rolled her hours.

I wish there was a way to give this particular Walmart Zero stars. Its not even worthy of the one that I just gave it, but since I want to write this review, this is what it gets. I shop here when desperate. Otherwise I go to a Walmart in a neighboring town which is actually clean and the employees have personalities. I had to run to this Walmart today, The only thing I can say is that they had everything on my list. Other than that the store was dirty. there was a fire here a little over a month ago and I would have thought that they'd clean a little better after the fire, but no. The store still has a slightly smoky smell to it, and I shopped fast because it was starting to make me sick. I went to the self checkout, so I could bag my items the way I wanted to and the attendant or whatever shes called gave me an attitude because I had over 15 items. I'm spending over $100 in the store. I'll go to whichever checkout I want to. end of story. I scanned and bagged everything in my cart, under the watchful eye of the Witch, like I'm going to steal a dollar bottle of bleach or something. paid with my debit card and got out of there into the fresh air. As I said before, they had everything I went in for, so the store is pretty well stocked, somewhat organized, but not clean at all. The cashiers are rude.. the only pleasant experience I've ever had is the rare occasion I've needed something at the pharmacy, or when I checkout in the garden section. The cashier that's usually there actually has a personality, which is a nice change. So for your own sanity, avoid this Walmart unless you're desperate or only need a few things, use the self checkout so you don't have to deal with the rude cashiers, you might just get the Witch that was there today. and beware, she'll count your items! Try the store in Swansea, or even Raynham,Ma theres no self checkout in Raynham, but the cashiers are friendly!

Answer the phones!!!!!!!!! The service desk employees are so miserable looking! You people who send money to your country, do it online, you hold up the line cuz it takes too long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lady Kay who works the desk always looks pissed off or you are bothering her!!!!!!? Also, to the people who have tons of stuff and not getting cigarettes go to another line or self checkout. To the Manager- make where you get cigs an express line so people who want just a pack of cigs aren't stuck behind the ones with a ton of stuff!!! Also, the employees dress so sloppy and dirty looking!!!

I called asking if they carried a filter for a water bottle. "What kind of batteries does it take?" "That's an insane question. It's a water bottle." "I know it's a water bottle. What kind of batteries does it take?" "It doesn't take batteries. You put water in it and drink out of it." "Oh ok, hold on." She transfers me to electronics . . . At this point, I am wondering, am I the insane one or is there some kind of incredible electronic water holding device that I am not aware of? Well no, after being transferred to 3 more departments, 15 minutes later, I was speaking to someone in housewares. "I don't know what a Camel's Back is but we only have Brita." "Thanks." I was really just thankful I didn't waste my time by setting foot in this awful store.

This place is horrible, the worst Walmart in the whole world. The attitudes of the employees are poor, and they literally scold on you when u misused the self-checking out machine. The employee took the item out of my hands, and said I can't get it without giving me any help. My experience is horrible, the worst shopping experience in my life.

We can't really shop here. Our debit cards will not work in either the terminal or register. If it's an emergency we'll get cash from the atm first, but sucks paying that fee. Our cards work everywhere else without fail.

Your typical Walmart. This one is conveniently located outside of Naval Station Newport, so since the commissary is closed on Mondays, the Walmart works good. All of the workers I asked helped for were helpful.

Needed a cheap temporary phone to hold me over until my new iPhone arrived. Went to the phone section and was helped by a young man named Sam who could not have been more helpful. Sam spent a lot of time figuring out which phone would work best for my situation and even called Verizon for advice. Keep up the good work Sam!

The seltzer selection was poor. The face mask selection was even worse. But the smoothie selection was nonexistent. Very disappointed because I went to stop and shop afterwards and they had it all. Thanks Walmart.

This was the first time that I used the walmart pick up services. I arrived at the store and there is no one at the pick up desk. So I followed the printed instructions listed on the desk. The instructions stated to press the button for an attendant. I press the button and waited.....and waited....and waited for approximately 15 mins. The attendant arrived and took my tracking number and went to the back to retrieve the item. I waited for about 5 mins and the attendant returned without the item and looked back on the register for the tracking number again and goes back to the storage room. After about another couple of mins she returns with the item. There also are no parking spaces for pick up orders, as other Walmarts that I have visited.I understand that it is not feasible to have an attendant located at the pick up desk 24/7, but there needs to be a better system set up to notify an attendant upon a customer's arrival.

This is one of the crappiest Walmarts I have ever been to with horribly trained employees! The cashiers never know how to process my formula coupons from Enfamil. They wouldn't let my husband use one of the coupons because it was my name printed on it instead of his - that's just for tracking purposes. It's a coupon - anyone should be able to use it. They clearly don't understand this. Some cashiers would take it without his name on it and some wouldn't which makes no sense. I purchased mousse that had a defective nozzle and the manufacturer sent me a coupon that I could use for up to $6 to replace the product. I tried to use it today and it wouldn't scan so the cashier said she couldn't use it. I asked her to call over a CSM and she said the same thing. The coupon wasn't expired. It stated right on it that it was "valid on ONE product, up to $6.00." It said it was a Manufacturer Coupon on the top. They could have easily just manually entered the coupon since it wouldn't scan as it was obviously a legitimate coupon. I know it was only $3, but still! They had no explanation other than "we can't take it since it won't scan." Besides the lack of knowledgeable/well-trained cashiers, this store is one of the few remaining non-supercenters. Their selection is very limited and their customer service is abysmal.

I challenge anyone to go to the sporting goods section to find someone working there or even close by. Then when no one comes by, try find someone to help you that isn't irritated because they work there. You have to stalk them by the break room entrance to catch them waddling out. Never in. Sort of hide though; if they see you when they're walking towards you and the break room they will just turn around and scamper off. The ones going on an actual break will just ignore you. I try not to go here. Always disappointed. Not sure what demographic or knowledge they are using there to stock. It's not like other Walmarts. Just cheaper than usual junk there like a swap meet. Unless a ten pound most likely stale bag of candy bars is your thing.

This is the most unprofessional department store I've ever been to. Customer service is nonexistent. Workers at device desk are extremely rude. Cashiers are clueless. The only person who is at all polite is the short older man with dark hair and glasses that works electronics and sporting goods.

There is no other way to put this. The Newport Wal-Mart sucks! It's on the small side, messy, extremely loud.... the first word that comes to my mind to describe this location is trashy! I thought that all Wal-Marts were run like this until I visited a few Super Wal-Marts and Wal-Marts out of town and they are so much more pleasant to shop at. Even the horribly designed parking lot is a mess to drive around. If I can help it, I'd rather get my things elsewhere. Booooo!

So this review is not about the Walmart store itself, but about a product that I purchased at this particular Walmart. I am talking about my 42' Vizio Smart Tv! I couldn't find any other place to leave this comment like their website, so I'm leaving it here. Listen up people DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A VIZIO SMART TV! I bought the original tv in 2014, now I know it's been a while, but let me tell you about the unfortunate experience of dealing with them. So I purchased my tv from this Walmart in Newport and everything was fine until I got it home. First, the tv loves to freeze, for no reason at all. At first I thought it was my cable provider, so after numerous conversations with Cox, I figured it can't be my cable or internet connection, because my other devices work fine, it has to be the tv! The Smart feature doesn't work. Every time I would try to watch Netflix, the tv would freeze or just go black. So I kept calling Vizio, at this time I was still in my warranty so they shipped a "new" tv. Now I have had this replacement tv from about June 2014 to now, and it's a total piece of crap. Not to mention I only had the original tv for about 4 months before it had to be replaced! Currently, I can't watch Hulu or Netflix, without the tv freezing, cutting off on me and the remote not working. When the tv freezes, I literally have to unplug it in order for it turn off. Now I have called Vizio customer support over 7 times and every time they have me do some ridiculous process, like pressing all the buttons on the remote control twice (that really happened) or turning on and off the tv, but it fixes nothing! All they do is give me the run around. With my latest call I finally figured they had no real intention of helping me because I didn't buy the extended warranty. So they would have been content wasting my time knowing full well, they weren't going to really help. Now I am going to have to buy a new tv, when there should be nothing wrong with the one I have. I have been completely turned off by this entire experience and I will NEVER buy a Vizio product again!

I really wish that I could give this place zero stars. I went here to pick up some items to finish wrapping gifts. As I am approaching the cashier - there was no hi how are you, welcome to Walmart. Noooo she kept her conversation going with the next cashier over - in Spanish! How rude is that for customer service. I actually have chalked it up to that is how people on the island are. I am not from here and basically over the last 3 years have developed a bad taste for this state. This probably why I have done so much online shopping since living here. Stay classy RI!

If I could give Walmart negative stars I would. No one could resolve my situation in the store or thru the customer services telephone department. FYI, you cannot order something online and use a manufacturer coupon to pay for it. (The coupon was worth up to 55.00. Product costs 55.95 and I was paying the difference in cash) they kept telling me I could only use the coupon if I picked the item off the shelf and carried it to a register. They do NOT carry the product in the store, just online. Ugh. Target gets ALL my business and I will let everyone I know, of Walmarts ridiculous policy.

As with everything, there are good & bad reviews, not every customer is going to be happy. I personally like this Walmart, the staff (other than one woman in electronics who told me they didn't sell a product I knew they did & sent me on a wild goose chase for another that was only two shelves away from me) are great. I do a lot of online shopping & pick my items up at the store. The women who work in the pick up department know me now & the level of customer service I receive from them is & has always been exemplary, a big thank you to Tiffani, Kim & Laurel for always being so helpful & making sure my orders are brought to me & processed in a timely fashion. The only other Walmart I have been in was in SC, it was huge. I like the smaller one we have, if you are a regular customer the employee's get to know you & pleasantries are exchanged when you are there, I like the small town feel it has.

I didn't even know that these Walmart's still existed. Not a very good selection of anything. I'm used to Super Walmart's. Highly disappointing!

All I have to say is ANSWER THE PHONE! I thinks it is disgusting that when you call a store that it should not ring 15-25 times. As far as a store manager they told me there is not one. WHAT? They tell me there is dept. managers. The most screwed up customer service ever!!! Also, if you are going to have those computer gadgets that give you the PRICE - MAKE SURE THEY ALL WORK!

The associates are mostly friendly and try to be helpful. The issue is the shelves are always sparse with products. You CANNOT get milk, cream, eggs, or bread in here over the weekend..out of stock. Can't get items like Fruit of The Loom sweat pants/shorts..never restocked. Toothpaste/deodorant/pain meds...hardly ever instock. I don't know who's responsible for inventory, but it's a mess. Also, I went over to an associate in the health care aisle, who was completely annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another employee, asked her about an out of stock item, she pulled out her inventory gun and said yeah, we have the item in stock, but it's in the stock room and I'll never be able to find it. Fabulous. Go to the Walmart in North Kingston...WAY better.

This is the first Walmart and only one on the island. You def get the finest of people coming through here. I always come with a purpose and get out as soon as I possibly can!!! I hate Walmart and the people that seem to flock and hang out In one!!! That is really all I have to say about Walmart.
