Google
Huge walmart with an assortment of stuff. The employees are really helpful and kind, and theres so many cute things you wouldnt find in a walmart by long island or jersey.

Google
The Auto Care Center was excellent, and everything was convenient and quick. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this auto care center.

Jessica Krogman

Google
The condition of this parking lot is honestly embarrassing for Walmart. I don’t know how anyone even shops here given the size of the potholes. This is disgusting. It looks like a war zone.

Colleen Keifer

Google
Sorry to have to say this but the customer service, especially at the Auto Center is atrocious. I ordered 4 tires and only 2 arrived. I spent HOURS on hold just to be told they don’t know what to do! Karen said she would call me back and didn’t. I tried to call the manager to complain but no one ever answered the front desk. I called multiple times and it rang for over 10 minutes! I am truly disgusted!!

Gabrielle

Google
The employees were scarce. They expect you to pay for bags and paper at that, we just put everything back in the cart and used some target bags we had in the car. The parking lot has potholes big enough to swallow your car and is overall a terrible lot

Momma Tiger

Google
Parking lot is still as crappy as it was, produce shelves are almost always empty of certain foods, not all Walmarts, but the one in Ithaca is ridiculous with the parking lot. It's scary to drive through it or you may end up without a wheel.

Vanessa Doucette

Google
The Ithaca Walmart is clean, well stocked, and there is usually one real person cashier for checkout. Self-checkout and the drive-up are faster and convenient if you are in a hurry. The most helpful department is the electronics crew (The five stars is for them). Con: Parking lot potholes.

Javier Gonzalez

Google
This is one of the cleanest wall Marts I’ve been too. All the shelves were stocked, there was actually an employee who came up to me and asked me if I found everything that I needed which was the first ever for me in a Walmart. Never thought I would say this but I would definitely recommend this Walmart.

Yelp
I've visited this Walmart a few times, usually for home necessities (read: apartment life essentials), and each time it's been an adventure. It seems like your typical Walmart, but picture it a little messier and a bit more picked over - thanks to the flood of college students grabbing every dorm and apartment necessity. The staff here are generally helpful, which is a major win. Need to locate that elusive kitchen gadget or bathroom necessity? They're on it and always seem to know exactly where things are hiding in this semi-chaotic labyrinth. Now, my last visit was surprisingly fruitful. Despite the usual out-of-stock items caused by all the back-to-school madness, I managed to find pretty much everything I was looking for. So, while it's not perfect, it gets the job done with a little patience and some luck!

Yelp
A big Walmart that was out of stock of bikes bigger than 18" (literally empty.. guy in the back said check back on the truck delivery tonight). They do have most groceries instock, plenty of paper towels and tissues and some cleaning supplies. People are generally masked but still see people without periodically. Prices are low, though. And they have a large pick up area for orders online.

Yelp
This mega store is like a 99 cents store, you go in to buy one thing and come out with a shopping cart full of stuff. My first aisle to run to is the toy section to find those Hot Wheels and Matchbox collectibles that are difficult to locate in California. I could spend hours here looking through all the aisles for great deals.

Yelp
Shoutout to the young mechanic at the Auto Center who checked out my tire & rim after I hit a curb, and gave me free advice about whether some lights on the dashboard of my Subaru were related. Very polite & respectful and helpful, thank you!

Yelp
Worst Walmart ever. Saw employee yell at a old woman. Not sure what name is but her hair was long and had blue or green in it. Not sure where they hire their employees but probably same place they get their carts. Going to target

Yelp
I love Walmarts! I came here to grab some food because I was hungry, and it's like any Walmart. It was clean, there was a lot of variety, and all the isles are clearly labeled. I ended up grabbing some cherry tomatoes and bread, and they were tasty. There's self checkout too if you like doing that!

Yelp
I'm amazed about three things: 1) The Ithaca store does not stock Wheaties cereal. 2) The store removed all of the bicycle racks that I and other cyclists used. 3) Walmart charges 5 cents for the worst paper bags in North America. The bags are guaranteed to tear in half and the bottom to fall out if you carry a normal bag of groceries. The paper bags are made in Mexico out of exceptionally weak paper. Who decided to buy these bags? Who decided to get rid of bicycle racks? Who decided to not stock Wheaties? Way to go Walmart Manager/Corporate Office! BTW, I do like the people working there.

Miranda I.

Yelp
This is the worse Walmart ever I bought produce the other day and most of it is no good I have to go somewhere else to get my produce

Yelp
Waltons have lost the feeling. Customer service? What's that? Avoid at all cost. A man In front returning apples he didn't like a taste of. 25 minutes. Enough time to plant a seed, grow apples, pick them, buy them, taste them. Sad place.

Yelp
Despite Walmart saying that everyone has to wear masks several employees were not wearing masks while working. When I asked to see a manager I was told they were on a break.
google avatar

Yelp
It's s normal Walmart, but take some knitting 'cuz you're gonna wait. For real. I think that is why the Subway is there... 35 people in line and 2 registers open with all the self-check-outs full. Nope. Same goes for the service desk. The order pick up for gorceries was great, though. Bathrooms and dressing rooms could use more regular attention.

Yelp
There is never anyone In the makeup area or the jewelry counter if your gonna make it so difficult for anyone to Purchase Stuff then it may as well get stolen cuz your not making any money Off it

Yelp
The store was a mess. We tried to find a fuel can and the worker tried to tell me that the blue kerosene can was a gas can. Grrrr. We found most of what I was looking for. We used the big self checkout and was watched like a thrift! I know they have a lot of theft but I won't be back. I was wringing up all my items. Then at the door they had to scan almost all of the items I bought!! WTH! Very rude. They didn't scan the person in front of me.

Yelp
Customer service is the absolute pits; ranging from indifferent to rude. Always an exceedingly long wait at check out, regardless of the day or time; never enough lanes open. Shelves are consistently half empty and/or in disarray. Screaming kids throughout the store (I completely understand how they feel). Target seems like heaven in comparison. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

Yelp
Employee Mareland was one of the most helpful and courteous People that I have encountered in a large department store, I had been seeking a particular gift for my 16 year old daughter and was in a complete dilemma as the only one available on-line or in a store was in Ithaca. I called, the employee confirmed that the item was in stock and without complaint when requested to grab one and hold for me did so. She was very pleasant, professional and gregarious when I met with her. I was so impressed with her demeanor and kindness that I offered to purchase one of these items for her for the Christmas. She declined and when I told her that I would commend her she accepted this offer. So in keeping with my promise this is a positive review of the Ithaca store, Mareland in particular but also the other three or four employees encountered. Thank You ~

Yelp
This is the best place for tires just buy at Walmart and $10 for lifetime balance. Only $3.00 for valve stem and free mounting.

Yelp
This morning I walked into a model Walmart, a store on which Walmart's mission statement must have been built. THE store that makes shopping at Walmart a guilty pleasure. I was greeted by a man who took his job seriously. I then walked around a well-lit spacious floor plan where very little seemed out of place, searching for my items with ease because that's how organized everything was. That which I could not find was easily located by knowledgeable staffers without haste, most likely so they could get back to restocking the shelves (And it was castor oil, people. Castor. Oil. Go to your cr*ppy Walmart, ask someone where that is, and tell me what they say. Really? They have it. Okay, Alright. Go back and ask for %100 tea tree oil then.). The cashier was pleasant and just as professional as her co-workers with whom I had interacted earlier. And I just loved seeing that cashier use an optional stool so she could rest her feet while she worked. Then I woke up! No, just kidding. I left the store feeling....beyond torn and conflicted about my politics and pretty much everything that comprises my identity as K.C. 'Nough said. It was just my first visit, but man. Castor oil AND tea tree oil (They also had NutriBullet products. No way.). You nailed it, Walmart. Kudos.

Yelp
1. Understaffed, poorly trained, overworked, underpaid employees. 2. I've never seen so many unmanned registers and long lines. Generally speaking I avoid Wal*Mart. They do nothing for the local economy, they treat their workers poorly and pay them worse, and they built this one on what was once a really nice and pristine wetland. But let's get to the meat and potatoes. When you go to a store you expect some form of service, some knowledge of products, reasonable prices, and at the very least, an adherence to company policy for returns and exchanges. In my experience: The employees can't find anything any more easily than I can. There is no knowledge of the products, and as for company policy... Here's my story. I was headed to Washington D.C. for a rally and march on the Capitol. My cell died on the way down and, since I use "Straight Talk" (essentially the Wal*Mart cell division) I needed to get a new phone and get my info transferred. At a different Wal*Mart, the guy at the electronics department was very helpful, but he obviously didn't know what he was doing (or the communication between store and Straight Talk wasn't working out). I bought a new phone and headset, asked that they transfer my old number to the new phone, etc. He called it in, gave them the old/new phone info, let them know the problem, and said "24 hours, it should be up and working". He also, kindly, threw away the plastic packaging for me. It didn't work for the entire weekend. I lost out on meeting my nearly 70 year old mom and other friends who were trying to connect with me in D.C., and a horrible accident in PA had us locked on a highway for 12 hours, and I couldn't call anyone to tell them why I was very late and let them know I was OK. Over the next week I called customer service at Straight Talk probably five or six times trying to sort out the problem. The phone simply didn't work and they told me to return it to my Wal*mart. So I went to the Ithaca Wal*Mart customer service. I had to bike 10 miles to get there (no car) through snow and muck. I'm sure I didn't look super pretty, but I was immediately met with hostility. The teenager at the service desk initially refused to return the phone, even as I had picked out another one for exchange, and had all the packaging and my receipts (except for the plastic the previous employee threw out). After much prodding, she finally called over a "manager", who, after some serious grumbling, said something like "well, maybe it's possible" and 2 seconds later, had the phone returned...BUT they refused to return the earpiece I had bought with the phone, which wouldn't work with the new phone I had picked out (the only choice on the shelf), even as I had selected the same brand/cost/earpiece to replace the other one. We had a disagreement about that. A woman with no receipt and no packaging was allowed to return her item for store credit right next to me. I asked how that was possible and they had no explanation. I left pissed off and biked my 10 miles home pretty angry. I still have the earpiece which is useless and the phone I bought there is a horrible piece of junk that wasn't worth the money, but at least it gets a signal! I will never shop there again and will suggest to everyone I meet to avoid the place like the plague. The only reason why I use Straight Talk is because it's inexpensive and allows me to donate more money to causes I like. You get what you pay for...unless you buy at Wal*mart. Then you get a lot less and more of a hassle.

Yelp
There's a reason this store only has 1 and a half stars. Because it would be even lower if it was possible to give half a star or ZERO, due to the team of winners they have "working" there. My experience today. (Just today, I've had plenty of bad experiences here in the past) Attempting to make a purchase of a grill that is listed as $27.75, rollback from $49.95 but the Walmart store (surprise surprise) messed up the sku, so that rollback sticker was placed on the full price same grill, and the $27.75 rollback wasn't scanned in their system. Double mess-up. This is NOT the on-line price, it is the ACTUAL ROLLBACK SALE. Buying it for $27 on the app, and then picking it up 25 minutes later worked fine. My girlfriend buying the SAME grill at the Walmart near her scanned correctly at $27.75. Big surprise, right? The MAIN ISSUE for me comes from direct customer contact by Walmart employees, who are standing behind the CUSTOMER SERVICE counter. I brought the grill in question to them for help correcting the sku, but they insisted that was only the online price (lie) and that it's shipped by someone else other than Walmart (lie) , so she showed me on HER phone and told me "THIS IS THE WALMART WEBSITE" (lie) She was showing me the Walmart app. During this whole process, Tiffany has been cussing and being rude and referring to me as though I wasn't standing right there. Then she slammed the register and cussed me out, DIRECTLY in front of her manager, and several other CUSTOMERS and my Dad. At this point I have supervisors and regular associates pushing back at me, blatantly lying to me, and trying to make this as difficult as possible. Tiffany grabs my phone and starts poking at it, i then asked her to please not touch my phone, so she dropped it and cussed me out again. At this point ive had enough so I requested a supervisor, to which Tiffany jangled her lanyard at me and shouted I AM A SUPERVISOR. I then requested HER supervisor, who Tiffany got to first, so THIS supervisor is now treating me like crap. After expressing my frustration at them turning THIER problem into MY problem, the yellow sweatered supervisor's supervisor told me "IM JUST NOT GOING TO SELL IT TO YOU NOW"(lie) to which I replied "yea you can't do that" which she is fully aware she cannot do. I then got helped by a very helpful supervisor lady, Starlit, who was TRYING to help me the whole time and was polite, despite getting caught in the crossfire. Tiffany vegan getting "all up in everyone's business" and being very disruptive and disrespectful to myself, the person I was with, the supervisor Starlit, and all the customers waiting an unnecessarily long time behind me. All that needed to happen was a quick price override, which is Walmart protocol in these cases. After my purchase, I went to the parking lot because I was overcome with anxiety, my hands went numb, and sat there for 2 hours until I calmed down. I went in again to make another purchase, and I went to Scan&Go so I didn't have to deal with them again, and low-and-behold, there's Tiffany, steady talking crap to all the other employees with earpieces in. I then called the store 5 times to get assistance, while standing at the register and I watched with my own eyes managers look at me, and then walk away. FINALLY an assistant manager came(begrudgingly), but he just stood there for 2 minutes until I asked him if he was there to help me, and he became aggressive, dismissive, demeaning and was making false statements. I've already spoken to CORPORATE and given everyone's names and they informed me they would be sending someone to re-train the managers and provide disciplinary action. To do my part, I went ahead and bought a total of 4 at $27.75. I can be petty too guys. And Tiffany, my name is not "ThisMotherfukker" and I'm sorry that this is the only job you can get hired at. Thanks to everyone who did the right thing and HELPED me.

Yelp
Customer service is absolutely the worst. Standing in line - 20 items or less. There was a little elderly gentleman behind me with one item in his hands. The little guy looked to be around 84-ish so I told him he could go before me. The cashier had started ringing up my items and had scanned about 3 things when I told him to let the gentleman go first. The cashier gave me an indignant look and said, "but I already started ringing you up!" I inquired, "Can't you back out the items?" In my head I'm thinking, seriously dude!! My total so far was $2.60, how hard could it be to rescan 3 things!! The cashier reluctantly backed out the items but gave me a dirty look as if I cared. The cashier's attitude was deplorable. He was really upset that I let the elderly man go first. He acted like I asked him to pay for the little man's item!! Sad thing is Mr. Grinch-miser was not the first or ONLY rude employee I ran into while visiting the city. I'm from Cali and I know Californians have issues but in general bad customer service is not one of them. Nevertheless, the elderly gentleman was happy, thanked me warmly, and trotted his little cute self off and that's all that mattered!

Yelp
IF I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. the photo department at this location is by far the WORST customer service I have ever received in my life. The photo machines were very inconvenient, there was very few for the volume of the store, and they weren't working correctly. The staff behind the counter in the photo department were extremely slow, rude, and incompetent. I feel like This Walmart specifically hires inadequate, uneducated people. The woman with the red hair behind that counter offered to trim our photos, then walked away and took a phone call without giving back our photos or receipts. She was terrible. She should get a good talking to, if not demoted to cashier. She has no clue what being a personable, helpful, work oriented employee is. Just terrible. This place even smells. Corporate needs to do something about this location.

Charles J.

Yelp
Went to get oil change took over an hour longer than said plus they got oil on middle console, seat, and floor carpet and baseboard and they did not put air in tires like I asked and put a Milage sticker on the vehicle. Will not return.

Yelp
This is my favorite smaller version of WalMart. I can get in and out and find everything I need at a better price anywhere else. Its very easy to get my grocery shopping done here!! The cashiers are friendly and helpful.

Super E.

Yelp
Good prices, but. . . There are always only, like, 4 lines open plus the self checkout. The floors of this Walmart are DISGUSTING and the shelves, walls and everywhere else are not much better. All the products on the shelves are in disarray. Customer service is rude, can be moderately helpful though. Overall, not a great place.
google avatar

Sara N.

Yelp
It's Walmart. You get what you pay for. I would recommend NEVER calling for a price check. It took 4 tries to actually be transferred to a person. Then transferred to the CSM who put me on hold, 12minutes later, she still hadn't returned. I hung up and called again, customer service answered and said she would go look. In the 7minutes it took, another person hopped on the line to ask if I had called about chainsaws. In the end, it took 27minutes to get a price check on something the CSM thought they didn't even carry.

Yelp
The actual store is much like any other Walmart. It can look very untidy in the sports department. The major issue with this place is there are never enough checkouts open. They have 16000 checkouts but only choose to have 6 open all of the time. Also some of the cashiers are very very slow!

Patricia P.

Yelp
Oh boy, what a disaster. NOTHING on the store shelves. Out of EVERYTHING. This is not the fault of the people who stock the shelves, it is the fault of the store manager for not allowing overtime to stockers to fill the shelves. First no merchandise arriving by truck now merchandise arrives, piling up in warehouse (stockroom) and not enough employees or time allotted to stock the merchandise. Spoke with an employee who told me this was the problem. Apparently new manager at this store. Well, send her somewhere else to work. Get a manager in there that knows retail. Sad situation when I come into Ithaca to shop at Walmart and end up going to Tops and Wegmans for things Walmart does not have on the shelf. I contacted Corporate a while ago and they said they would follow up with the store. Surprise.....I have heard nothing and it is getting worse. Good job Walmart. Keep up the great work till the store closes for lack of customers.

Yelp
neat clean store. was here looking for halloween stuff and found everything easily

Joe R.

Yelp
Hate the long lines and slow cashiers! What a waste of space having 35 cashier lines and 3-4 open at one time. Could do a lot more business if they would hire 2 more people at minimum wage to operate the cash registers. Don't go here if you expect to get in and out quickly.

George S.

Yelp
Got screwed on a Walmart online order. Ordered arrows 3 dozens and received a email that my order was in, went to pick them up and they stated only 3 arrows for the stated price. Dawn the photo dept. manager then cancelled my order against my wishes and told me i would have to deal with Walmart. Com, because they were not part of Walmart ( Again, a crock of shit ) Contacted Walmart .Com and was told since my order was cancelled they could do nothing for me. Asst. Managers at the store Adam & Joe (that's what they told me) gave me more of a run around and both stated they had no telephone numbers of a district manager or corporate. One hell of away to run a business. george 6072070200

Brianne C.

Yelp
This store is the worst Wal-Mart I have EVER been too. Every time I go I can never find anything, because the organization is the worst. Then when you get to check-out there are only 2 people on registers, so you wait 30 min to check out. The service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. For example, I have been waiting in line for 15 min and a new cashier opens a register; then takes a customer that just walks up???!!!!! REALLY!!???

Rm G.

Yelp
I usually do my shopping at walmart--they are generally good but some of the cashiers are terribly racist! I will advise my friends who have obvious identity markers to be careful and expect rude treatment, and to go elsewhere if they want to spare themselves the headache.

Tom P.

Yelp
Sorry Ithaca, although rather new this is a poor Walmart. Poo service and prices are slightly higher. I am an AM shopper so that could be the service issue.

Dan L.

Yelp
I don't care if it has a union or not. That's not on my mind when I go shopping there. All I care about is quality and availability of products they're selling. And this store is like any other Walmart store - lots of good stuff at affordable prices for a limited income family. And it's nice and clean too, with friendly staff.

Steven B.

Yelp
Car was in the garage, oil change was paid for, but oil was not changed. Oil was dirty and smelly already 5 miles down the road. If you have the oil changed there you should watch them while they do it.
