I moved to the area about a year ago. Walmart isn't my "go to" but it's a nice option if you need groceries, plus (something in electronics, hardware, outdoor, etc). Overall it's been a pleasant experience to shop here. Most employees are nice and approachable, I have enjoyed my interactions in the self-checkout, which I generally use.
My last two trips have been an exception, though, because of the lady I have interacted with in the self checkout. While I'm not in this Walmart often enough to know who everyone is, I'm pretty sure she showed up in the last month or two, she's older, always scowling, and has no filter.
Today she grumped at me for advancing to the pay screen before she checked my ID for an alcohol purchase, and the other time she openly accused me of trying to shoplift in front of several other customers when I didn't realize something didn't scan properly before bagging it.
I've worked customer service enough to know someone will chew her up and spit her out for acting like that, and that's not my energy. But after two experiences I can't stay quiet. Customer service matters. You can't treat people like that.
