Walmart

I always like to see what other WM's sell that's different from my hometown WM. This store (in Dec) had a great selection of ski wear!

Taos is one of the most extraordinary places I have ever seen. The mountains glow at sunset, and every building seems shaped by the same earth beneath your feet. Almost every home, café, and market honors that heritage through adobe tones and rounded edges that blend naturally with the desert light. That is why this Walmart feels so wrong for the landscape. It looks like it was dropped from another state and stripped of the spirit that makes Taos sacred. Instead of blending with the land, it stands out like a beige box that could be anywhere. Corporate design should never override local culture. When you visit Taos, you feel its heartbeat everywhere else you go — the art, the food, the people, the land. This store ignores that completely. I hope one day they rebuild or redesign it to reflect the beauty and respect this place deserves. Taos deserves architecture that honors its story, not erases it.

These five stars go to Gilbert. Gilbert is the hardest working person at the Taos Walmart. Every day we see him toting baskets by the droves. Not once have we seen him standing around on his phone or smoking cigarettes. When offered a compliment and monetary gratitude towards his hard work and positive attitude, he respectfully declined due to store policy. Hats off to you kid, keep up the good work.

Employees at this Walmart are buying all the One Piece cards for scalping purposes when there is supposed to be a limit of 5 packs per customer. Corporate needs to look at the numbers and cameras to see which employees are subverting the 5 per customer limit set by corporate so that they can be fired. These employees are essentially stealing customers from Walmart. Customers that would likely also be buying other things when they come in for trading cards. Corporate set this 5 per customer limit because of employees just like these that were making back door deals with scalpers which was damaging to not only Walmart's image but also to Walmart's bottom dollar. Management needs to do better and handle it so corporate doesn't have to.

Tacos Walmart was very good for last minute Christmas shopping. Found some very good buys, minimal wait to check out, parking was good. Checkout person was friendly and courteous. Good experience.

It was already a subpar Walmart before the recent restructuring, and now it's impossible to even shop at, theres not even enough space for me to fit through isle's anymore as they've shoved 3 times the amount of stock they actually have space for on to the floor, it's now a claustrophobic nightmare with no organization where you feel like a rat in a maze surrounded by warehouse walls and nothing cost what's listed as like other have said they're just price gouging and not even hiding it. Don't waste any time here unless you're a fan of hedge mazes with product placement and rude management

I love the Taos Walmart! Better selection of merchandise and my favorite thing was the thicker, stronger bags they put your purchases in! It's a little thing but an impressive improvement over typical Walmart bags.

So disappointing this is the only store in Taos that carries certain items. This store is an eternal disaster. It's been under construction forever, they're always out of everything I need, the parking lot is a disaster and full of trash. There is no produce section like others have said, in fact, there is no fresh food whatsoever. On three occasions now, I've bought other groceries and found them all to be stale (granola, crackers, chips, chocolate chips for baking). Not to mention Walmarts new tactic of "handling tarrifs" which involves removing all of the perforated price tags so they can fluctuate prices on everything. It's absolute price gouging for starters, but overall extremely annoying because almost nothing in the store has accurate price signs, so you can never tell how much anything costs. I despise this place.

*DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH* I mean... it's Walmart after all. Basics are there as usual. The people working there are doing their best. Please be kind to them (and to each other) Come with patience and plenty of time, seems there are fewer employees than usual and things are sometimes all gone or in places you wouldn't think to look. Walmart... it is what it is :/

The Walmarts where we live in Florida are shiny, clean and well stocked and more importanly orderly. This was a shocker. Dirty and chaotic. No fresh food, it was like Grocery Outlet after Armaggedon. Some one from Arkansas Head Office needs to get down here and sort it out. The locals deserve better.

Rude and grossly ignorant. Story: in line behind a 70 something guy trying to pay for some tequila when the check out person asks for ID. He doesn't have one on him but his friend does. Check out lady says she can't sell to him because "he did not bring it to the counter". Then she calls the manager (Myron) who supports her decision. I'm just a bystander but I ask why and Myron rudely states, "it's our liquor license", OK. Still dumbfounded, the guy (who is right there and in front of us) is told if he wants to buy it he has to go to the back of the line which is now at least five people deep. As Myron the manager is leaving he says "you're welcome to shop elsewhere"! Yes manager man I am aware I can shop elsewhere and I will. Geez!

I made an online order that was supposed to be here the next day, I paid extra for shipping, then I got an email that it would be a day later, I was fine with that as it would still be here in time, now it's not supposed to be here until Nov 11 and they won't cancel my order or give me back my money all they will do is update me, I got 3 emails about this order, one from USPS, one from UPS and one from Fedex, they can't even tell me who's delivering it! I hate Walmart and am finished with them!!!!

They had what I wanted however it was not in the appropriate section so the DVD I got was in the 7.99 section but it was 14. Then when I went to checkout none of the register displays were working so I couldn't see anything as it was being rang up. I had to verify everything after I got my receipt. Just wasn't my best experience in this Walmart.

Took a drive to Taos since my mom hadn't been in ages and after lunch stopped here for a few things she needed. I have to say it is way calmer than the Espanola store. We found everything she needed and the employees were super nice but the store is just very outdated. I think the floors are the worst (in terms of being outdated) so if they just revamped them it would make the biggest difference.

I had a prescription called into the pharmacy. I checked on that evening and they said it was being ordered. I waited over 10 days and went in to check on it. It "was still on order". So I asked to speak to the pharmacy manager and store manager. The pharmacist on duty couldn't take time to talk to me and the store manager on duty came down and talked to the pharmacy assistant before talking to me. I overheard him telling her that that they were not going to order the stuff to fill my prescription simply because they would have to place too large of an order for the items. She approached me and started going on about something being delayed. I explained to what I overheard and she replied that there was a problem with my prescriber. I asked how she could claim that and if she seen the real problem. She kept going back to it was all on my provider who they had not even bothered to notify that there was a problem with my prescription in the first place. This doesn't just prove the pharmacy has dangerous policies based on profit over customer safety, when they tried to place the blame on my provider who they hadn't even bothered to notify about the company, they proved that the company and it's management has no integrity.

DO NOT go to this Walmart. Homeless people living in broken down cars in the parking lot, people begging for money in the parking lot. Actually knocking on your car windows wanting money from you. Drug deals happening in the parking lot. Some employees looked like they were stoned. There is no security anywhere to be seen. It is not safe here. STAY AWAY for your own safety !!!!!

Old, outdated. Nothing is where you think it would be lol! Panhandlers line the front doors to catch you going in or out. And a woman was shadowing my daughter looking for a way to get her hand in her purse. She bolted after we let her know we were on to her

Omg. This Walmart is terrible! Go to United. I'm from out of town and they don't even sell meat.

Our time at this Walmart was a good experience. The people were friendly and the store was maintained well, consideration for cleanliness is available at the store. It is not the biggest Walmart, but it does have the things that you would need on a travel trip or relocation. My bf and I were able to have a enjoyable trip while visiting the area. Good music played by town folk. The blues at Walmart can be enjoyable if excepted. Very friendly area.

Where's the minus stars? This toilet is dirtier then a 300 year old outhouse. The pharmacy is a complete joke. The employees think they're military. Never going back there!!!

I am sorry if their is misplaced words. I. Can't. See Sue. Phone is a bit smaller than me phone, but please have patience I am trying. We got salsa and potato chip (lays potataoes) then we went back. I ojust kid recomend staying in the earth ships of Taos. Small town not like our last vacation in Miami. Very cool and exciting and environment friendly. The earth ships. Not Miami. Or Walmart. It is bad for environmental to have big parking lots but we have to. Thank you for your service tonight.

I went in reluctantly to buy three items. They had all the east-west isles (front to back of the store) marked "one way" alternating from east to west every other isle. But the north-south isles were marked "keep your social distancing of 6 feet" and you could go either way. I soon figured out that because of all the one-way isles, I was walking by a lot more people as we navigated the two-way isles to get where we needed to be on the one-way isles- which were usually empty anyway. This one-way business was clearly self-defeating. I finally got what I needed, and went to the registers and they had one long line for all registers, including the express register (10 items or less). So I had three items and had to get in the line with everyone regardless of how many items they had, and the 20 or so in that line were all jammed up against each other- zero social distancing. Had they kept the 6' rule the line would have gone out into the garden center. Oh, and there were two regular registers open and the one express. I dropped all my items on a shelf nearby and walked out.

I am a wife, full time employee and a mother of 5 who recently moved to the area. To say that Wal Mart has always been my go to is an understatement. However, after my last trip to this location, I will never return. I respect the rules of social distancing and limiting the number of people in the store, but if you are going to have a line outside with over a hundred people, you need to have security! My husband and I were verbally attacked for not moving fast enough. I swear I thought the very irate man was going to push me out of line. He started yelling obscenities at me because I was not moving fast enough in the line. The line was not moving but some how because I was a white woman, I was holding up the line. He literally yelled at me, " move your white privileged ass or I will move it for you bitch". I was so caught off guard I thought it was a mistake that he was speaking to me! Then he got in my face and continued to be aggressive with his foul language and I was sincerely scared he was going to hurt me . My husband tried to intervene, but I was scared he might be hurt by this out of control man, so I took my husbands hand and urged him to leave with me, and we left. I was so shaken by this I couldn't drive. I feel Wal Mart should add security to the outside of the stores so customers can feel safe. I will never return to this store and that makes me very sad.

Congratulations! This has been selected as "THE WORST WALMART IN THE WORLD " Filthy, bare shelves, no help and no service. I've been in here twice and walked out both times without purchasing anything.

If you need to change you car batteries that are within the 36 month replacement period be prepared. When you take them in, they don't swap them out any more without testing them. Ok, fine. But I have two batteries in my truck always replace both at the same time. What they do is take your batteries and tell you it'll be 15 minutes to test each one. Again, OK. I hung around for a 45 minutes, got a call saying they failed the test, now we have to charge them and retest, we'll call you in 1-2 hours. 3 hours later I called to follow up, and got nothing but attitude from the customer service rep, telling me how she was the only one there....... etc. Frankly I didn't care, I needed my batteries so I could leave town in the morning. She finally went to go look at the machine, and it told her the battery was bad, and I could come and get one battery. I asked about the second, and she said it has to charge and be re-tested, this is at 9pm and they close customer service at 10. Apparently they can only do one battery at a time. I show up at 9:45 to check in everything, and nothing has changed, I can have one battery, the other is still charging...... they bring up one old and one new battery, the old one shows 2.26 volts! It was $25 and change to get a new "warranty" battery. Look at your receipt, they charge you a core charge, and take your old battery!! They won't give me the second new battery until the test is done. Talking to Martin is like talking to a rock, sorry man. Tried to explain that I still had four months left on a 36 month warranty. He end up telling me that he can do simple math, so I asked why I was being charged for the exchange. He just glares at you and won't answer. I paid the bail money for my first "warranty" battery and go home to install it. Martin assured me that the other battery was being tested and will be ready when customer service opens at 7am. I get there at 7am and nobody can find the battery, and the night before they only logged me in for one battery. I tell them that I have a receipt for them with serial numbers and would like to go look my self. About 30 minutes they come to the front with my lost battery. They tell me that it was not on the charger and needs to be charged to be tested and they will get back to me. . I politely remind them of what happened last night and told them that both batteries go in the same truck, so if one is toast, the other will be too. They agreed and extorted another $25 and change from me for the second "warranty" battery. Other than this crappy experience and constant lack of checkers, it's your typical small town Walmart.

Run down with poor selection. We have more red and green chile at our San Diego Walmart. Other than basics I would avoid. It's too bad as could be a great spot for a good quality store.

Seems the staff is hung over today. It isn't professional to complain and treat a customer rudely if YOU clocked in late. I asked if we should move into another line and got a gruff response. Maybe shower before work if you can next time.

I haven't been through taos in a few years but this place is creepier than ever. This Walmart is horrible.. the people from here are just plain weird.. I came in to buy a few things for our trip back to Albuquerque and I felt like was on another planet. It's hard to explain , but I couldn't wait to get out of this place. Staff here was like a bunch of zombies.. no one seemed to want to help customers, nothing! This place is a true hell hole on earth.this explains why so many people are miserable there.

So I run into Walmart for a quick something, which takes FOREVER to find since the signage is wrong, and employees are scarce, and the lines are long. Do they take classes is now to avoid customers? "Look down, walk briskly, cover your name tag, do NOT make eye contact, and for pete's sake, don't say: can I help you find something?" Also, I dislike being solicited in parking lots. Buy tamales from the back of your van? I don't think so! Do I want to buy a watch? Uh, no thanks. Where is security? They're not in the parking lot and they're not in the watch section, that's for sure.

Walmart SUCKS!!!!! but sometimes you can't beat the prices... It's always a zoo, with the employees acting as happy to be there as animals in a real zoo. Obviously you can't buy everything locally (local, hand-made electronics anyone?) but with the ease of shopping online, you should have very few reasons to be at Walmart.

This review is for online order pickup. Two people helped me... Martin and a young girl whose name I didn't catch. I was picking up a bulky computer case and they took it out of the box for me and disposed of the packaging. Plus... they were friendly and good humored, offering advice on travel around Taos.

I would rate this Walmart a 0 if I could. Nobody could even find a key to the fitting room. And they wouldn't try. They all looked like they just crawled out of bed . Worst Walmart I have ever been to.

First of all, Fuck Walmart. This Walmart takes the cake. The employees think so too. A couple suggestions. Have people who work there, there. When they do come out from "outback" maybe bring out all the merchandise and put it on the shelf. You know, there are shopping carts. Do you work here? No, says the lady who just took off her uniform. Wait for the dude whose department is this. He has this one and this one and this one but not this one. Do you want to go to Walgreens? They have a photo department. Walgreens has a photo department? Fuck yeah!

Came into Walmart at 1:58 pm, grabbed a couple small things, went up to the Electronics Department, was helped by a nice male employee who put headphones behind the counter for me. Went back to counter at 2:10 to pay for small things and headphones and waited for an employee to show up for 21 minutes. Employee came up and said they'd find someone to help me. Finally, the extremely senile Department Manager (Elma?) (Elsa?) came up with another customer, who then asked the DM if I was first in line, to which she rudely responded with "no" without even looking at me. Then after that transaction the DM asked the people that were at this point three groups behind me if they needed anything. When the DM finally asked if I was "only" buying the small things, I pointed to the headphones, and she seemed inconvenienced by the whole thing. This Walmart needs to account for its rude and unhelpful employees, especially a DEPARTMENT MANAGER. I would never come back here if this was my first time coming here. Shout out to the nicer employees who were helpful.

Do not buy anything over $25 because it cannot be returned without a receipt. I purchased a coat and pants that did not end up fitting the way I needed them to when I tried them with the rest of my ski clothes. They would not give me store credit and originally told me that I could not even exchange sizes. They relented and said I could exchange sizes but they did not have my size in stock of the exact same styles and colors. So I am stuck with ~$90 worth of clothing that I can't wear. I am not sure how this policy benefits WalMart. They could have resold the items and with this policy, they have also lost a customer. I have spent a thousands of dollars at this Walmart over this past year. That stops now because as a consumer, I am out the money and still don't have proper clothing to wear. I will have to spend more money and figure out what to do with clothes that don't fit. So whether shopping for yourself or for gifts, do not rely on the standard consumer protections you are used to enjoying. Go to the other stores in town or use Amazon and have the goods delivered directly to your door.

Residents of Taos......I'm a visitor from Palm Desert Ca. Recently I had a medical problem I needed help with. Stopped in to your Walmart and the Pharmacy dept and spoke with CRESTINA CORDOVA, wow what a tremendous help she was. She went above and beyond customer service with helping me. I just want to say how GREAT it was to see what a Professional and well run dept as CRESTINA's Pharmacy is. All her staff where PROFESSIONAL and extremely helpful. She is definitely someone to look up to and speaks highly of the profession she represents....Thanks again CRESTINA your the BEST.... Steve Ledbetter....

They are space cadets. Twice I've had the little black censor thing not removed from baby items and ended up cutting a hole in a blanket because I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. They also have road kids outside the entrance a lot and they'll likely pester you aggressively for cash. Dude, I have a baby with me, I really don't need that crap.

Terrible customer service, for the most part. There are a few good ones, but most employees seem like the happiness was sucked out of them.

The older female employee at the fabric department was too busy texting than attending to customers needs. I would expect that from a teenager moreso than an elderly woman, but some people never grow up. If she spent half as much time learning her department and what products are and if they carry them- she might actually be deserving of her paycheck. Small town retail store is hard up for quality employees so they take what they can get. Poor customer service in the fabric department.

Be careful buying gift cards here. I bought my daughter a $50 gift card and while checking out I became a little distracted by the person next to me that kept trying to make small talk. When my daughter went to use the card it had $0 balance.. I paid for a $50 card but I guess the checker must have a different card that received the balance. I was ripped off. Also, they're extremely keen on making sure everyone is following the many rules, but if you need help, somehow there's no one to help, you literally could wait an hour. I really hate this place now. I bought a dining table and right out of the box one of the tops of the padded chair was ripped, so I called customer service, since the line to get in was wrapped around the building, anyway I was on hold for an hour and a half and nobody ever answered. I eventually decided I already knew better than to buy anything from there and I can just cover the chair and just accept another loss. Hopefully I'll learn one day!

I am not from Taos but the service I received in the pharmacy was wonderful! They were courteous and truly wanted to help me in my dilemma! I can't praise them enough! Thanks!

This review is for the pharmacy. They told me they would fill a prescription by today and then not only did not do so, they even failed to order the medication, which they do not normally stock. Yet they told me yesterday that they HAD ordered it and it would be in today (I had given them the prescription two days ago). Luckily, the Savon pharmacy at Albertson's has it and can fill my prescription. Otherwise I would have to go through the weekend without it. I highly recommend Albertson's and encourage people to run far away from Walmart.

There is a shining star at this Wal-Mart. His name is Rocky. He went way out of his way to help. Even got online. We couldn't find it in the store so he even asked his manager!... We never did find it even though they said they had some but this guy totally went the extra mile and then some!!!

Prices here are pretty low here but the employees here don't seem very happy. Walmart doesn't treat its people very well, especially women. I try to buy as many groceries as possible at Walmart, Walgreen's, the Dollar Store and Costco when in Albuquerque in order to avoid the high priced and deceptive Smith's.

Bought a pot at this Walmart, the metal distorted when heated, it was clearly defective, but even though they had the identical item in stock, they would not exchange it without a receipt. Ripped off. In addition half the time you go there they will be out of stock on an item they normally carry. Amazon or local merchant are a much better choice.

Barely moved to this Town, about a week ago. And OF COURSE, I forget something. So thinking Hey! There's a walmart!!! I can go get it from there. Where I'm from the people aren't so rude and at least seem happy for there customers. Unlike here, the workers are rude, never seemed to be happy and the environment is disgusting. To add, I moved here because of my husband and his job. Not by choice! I can't wait to move out of here. All in general the people here are obnoxious and rude.

This has to be the worst Walmart in the world!! If you make it in the front door without getting stabbed you will find carts for stocking all over the aisles making it impossible to maneuver your cart around others to get to what you need. I spent a considerable time trying to get help in the bike department to no avail. Finally just grabbed the bike and rolled through Walmart to checkout. My visit was for business and I had 20 bottles of champagne. I asked for a box and of course they did not have one. Upon getting to the front cashier they asked for my employees drivers license even though I was purchasing with a business credit card. My employee is 30 and had even worked for the cashier 12 years earlier when she was 18. They refused to sell the champagne without her license. I asked for a manager and no manager cared enough to give customer service. I guess they lost another customer to amazon.

Taos' Wal-mart is notorious for being terrible. I have stood at the Sporting Goods counter for 20 minutes without seeing anyone, after walking over to another department to page someone to Sporting Goods. Another time, I was sent to buy 2 TVs, and could not find anyone to help me, so I ended up climbing a ladder and getting a TV down myself. Utterly ridiculous. Employees are decent, but obviously miserable, and it shows in their service. In an expensive area like Taos, working at Wal-mart is what you do when you have no other options. But, it's a Wal-mart, and it's the only store in town for certain things, so we all have to go there sometime.
