The Spots Of The Summer, Philly Edition - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Luxury spas? Sure. Shopping? Definitely. Pigeons the size of small dogs? In abundance. But a beer garden? That’s rare in Rittenhouse. Walnut Garden is a massive patio complete with oversized plants, picnic tables, and cocktails named things like Flying Melons and Munchkin Land. While we can’t speak for the nomenclature, we can tell you that it’s kid- and dog-friendly, has great snacks, and is perfect for a boozy afternoon in the sunshine." - alison kessler, candis mclean

The Best Christmas Bars In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"This outdoor beer garden near Rittenhouse Square opened in the summer of 2023, and they’re sticking around to be a refuge for people who are holiday shopping or waiting to get into Parc. The festive draw here is that there are a bunch of Christmas decorations. Rely on the heaters to warm you up, in case the s’mores hot chocolate with vodka isn’t enough." - candis mclean

Walnut Garden - Review - Rittenhouse - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"The name says it all, Walnut Garden is a spacious beer garden on Walnut Street near Rittenhouse Square. This seasonal pop-up has picnic tables, a designated space for lawn games, and several bars where you can order margaritas and serviceable smoked brisket cheesesteaks, smashburgers, and chorizo-kimchi hot dogs." - Candis R. So maybe I’m not the right demographic for this place but I came on a Saturday afternoon when visiting my daughter. Security was friendly and doing exactly what they were paid to be doing. The servers and staff were also working hard and keeping everyone happy. I am sure it is a very different vibe at night, but I thought it was really lovely and a great place to stop for a drink while shopping on a Saturday afternoon !

I had been to Walnut Garden a few times, but when my friend was getting engaged I knew this would be an awesome place for us friends and family to meet up afterwards at. I had done outreach to management from the website and they were so helpful in helping us coordinate a small area for us to gather and celebrate. Stephanie was so kind and communicative in helping us coordinate and day of Melissa was on top of everything. Would highly recommend checking out this beer garden before the season ends!

Such a really neat outdoor spot nestled in center city. Plenty of benches to sit down and have a drink-- the cocktails are great here. They also always have the eagles on tv so nice option for outdoor viewing of the game during that time of year.

Loved the view and atmosphere. Service was very good and so were the prices for the city. Didn’t try the food, but we will next time. We came right after the rain, and the crowd was very manageable.

The reply from the owner is completely false- We were not asked to leave! I gave a poor review for these reasons: 1. An employee shamed my husband for not going to the kitchen to pick up the food we ordered via QR code, saying that he was yelling his name at the kitchen, and that we should have went there and waited to hear our name. That is NOT what the instructions at the front say. 2. There wasn't running water in the bathroom "stall" I used, and the toilet would not flush. Disgusting. 3. They didn't replenish the wood chips recently, so our shoes were covered in mud after leaving. We were going to sit under the tent, but it was too loud to have a conversation. 4. Please stick to beer if you go here. Mixed drinks were disgustingly sweet, weak, and overpriced. Also don't bother getting food, it's just sodexo garbage.

PHILADELPHIA, PA: an oasis in the middle of the city, Walnut Garden serves up food and drinks in an urban garden. Nestled between 2 buildings, the beautiful outdoor space is full of picnic tables and a tented area, where leashed and friendly dogs are allowed to join you for some food and drinks. The food menu boasts sandwiches and salads and there is a full bar with specialty cocktails, canned beverages, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options. It started raining while we were there and were able to take cover comfortably under the tent that also had a TV with the Phillies game on. Open 7 days a week, check their website for current hours.

For sips: The drinks are kinda bad and the service was slow but the vibes were excellent. You gotta get there early if you expect to get more than one round as the line to the bar was excruciating. Nobody in line was paying attention as the bartenders tried their best to keep things moving, and all just to get a $5 beer (walnut garden lager) which is basically a bud light or a cocktail so sweet it basically gives you a hangover while you drink it. It's a cool spot but I'm not going back

What an amazing atmosphere! Attended a meetup group with local Philly people and the staff was amazing! Food is excellent too!
