I only had 72 hours to eat my way through Portland, this trip. Walter French's was on the top of my list for lunch spots to try, and I am so glad I made the trip (even in the rain)!
Located in a super cute food truck court with a nice seating area (gas fire table and canopy for the cold rainy days). The staff were super engaging and gave excellent suggestions! The sandwiches were both original and delicious!
I had the Gobbler, a sandwich with a Thanksgiving nod, Turkey, bacon, Cheddar, cranberry sauce, on a sesame hoagie. Easily one of my new favorite sandwiches. All of the ingredients were so fresh and melded perfectly together. Will be trying to recreate this with leftover Thanksgiving turkey and cranberry sauce!
Not one to miss anything, I also tried the Big Dom, salami, capicola, ham, provolone with cherry pepper relish, red wine vinaigrette. Messy and delicious! Again incredibly fresh ingredients, fantastic flavor.
Everything was made fresh to order. I am adding this to my list of "must have" repeat spots for my next visit out!
