I really wanted to give this 4 & half but cant do that.
This place is a little gem, its free to get in & run by volunteers so did'nt mind spending a little money in the gift shop or cafe.
I found this museum on instagram ages ago & so glad i finally came. My daughter who is nearly nine loved it & i enjoyed it as well. It has tube carrages that you can go in & an old fire engine & other random, but interesting items. Then there is the pump house, a beautiful victorian building with the work pump inside.
Why not five stars? Just two small things, would be nice if the cafe had a better menu & one of the older train carrages was'nt open, bit dissapointed. But lovely way to spend a couple of hours, staff were friendly. Would i come again? Proberbly not, but that dos'nt mean i wont recommend it. I think its important for these places to stay open, especially for the kiddies. So go and have a look, i dont think you'll be dissapointed.
