This cute coffee hut is located in the perfect spot! At about 30 minutes from Bryce Canyon, Wanderlust is there to help you out through that last stretch! After 9 straight hours of driving, and hardly any espresso stops off Interstate 15, I was relieved when I saw this adorable little shop perched on the side of the road.
All I really wanted was a large Americano ($5.00), then I saw that they offered kolaches! For those who don't know, kolaches are a Czechoslovakian pastry that are particularly popular in Texas. Unfortunately they were out of sweet ones however I couldn't resist getting my hands on a Texan style (sweet bread, filled with cream cheese, jalapeño, egg and bacon, $4.00.). The dang thing was huge! And so delicious. The bread itself was the perfect amount of sweetness. There was plenty of egg and bacon stuffed into the pastry, and lots of creamy, heavenly cream cheese with just enough jalapeños for that POW! An absolutely great filler before a long hike through Bryce Canyon. I almost wish I got two because my wonderful husband wouldn't stop stealing bites! All he got was a 16 oz Peach Extreme smoothie made with whole mike ($5.00) which was so refreshing and wonderful. Super peachy, almost like Trolli peach rings were blended in! Very filling but not enough to make him keep away from my snack. Moral of the story is get your own and if you have a partner who never wants their own food do it anyway because worst case scenario you'll have TWO delicious pastries to yourself. :P
I wanted to stop by once more to pick up some sweet kolaches but we passed through Panguitch around 5:30am on our way home. I'm making it a mission to stop by during morning hours next time to try them. I definitely recommend you stop by on your way through this precious little community.
