10 MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Singapore with MICHELIN Guide Restaurants

"Previously an artful project rather than a conventional hotel, Wanderlust was born from a historic Art Deco structure in vibrant Little India, serving as a creative platform for a select group of avant-garde boutique-hotel designers. Now, having evolved into a mature phase, Wanderlust's identity has embraced a modernist aesthetic, striking a balance between sleekness and sophistication without venturing into the realm of audacity. Among its collection of 29 units, the majority feature well-appointed kitchens, complemented by a convenient on-site laundrette for guests' use. The lofts extend over two levels, while even the more compact accommodations boast ingenious storage solutions that maximise their limited space. Modern luxuries, including rainfall showers, smart TVs, and Bluetooth sound systems, are thoughtfully integrated as standard features." - Mikka Wee

"Another of attorney-turned-hotelier Loh Lik Peng’s boutique properties (along with the New Majestic), Wanderlust is perhaps the quirkiest hotel in Singapore , taking guests on a fanciful journey that befits its name. The building opened in the 1920s as the Hong Wen Chinese School and later served as a settlement where Indian immigrants reared livestock. Its unchanged sober white facade with black shutters gives little hint of the outré interiors. Each of the four floors was fashioned by a different Singaporean design agency, resulting in various themes. In the lobby, an industrial-glam aesthetic manifests itself in an old-fashioned collapsible metal gate repainted in gold, a Frank Gehry-designed sofa, and seats made from recycled road signs by Australian Trent Jansen. Rooms on the "Creature Comforts" floor include Typewriter, where giant lettered arms reach out and up from a sofa with keyboard letters on the upholstery, while lanterns cast shadows of monsters along the corridors."

Great hotel for a fair price. Small but very clean and cozy rooms. Super friendly staff, interesting and walkable neighborhood. Very quiet. Washer and dryer free of charge, water fountain, tea and coffee as much as you want and free of charge. Great service for the price! For us a perfect stay!

I’ve stayed there twice. Tried their loft and also their premium room. Love how they designed the room to optimize the space. Comfortable and fitted with all the basic utilities. Post pandemic, the rooms are looking a little more tired but that’s understandable as previously, I stayed when they first opened. What was memorable was their friendly, personable and warm staff at the reception. The location was good, accessible to MRT, walking distance to supermarkets, Little India and Chinatown.

The hotel is in a lively, well-connected area, just a short walk from the MET station - perfect for exploring other neighbourhoods and getting to or from the airport. The bathroom is compact but spotless, with a surprisingly spacious shower. Housekeeping is done daily, and one towel per person is provided each day. There is no real lobby, as the entrance area is occupied by a restaurant. The room is quite small, and the only real drawback is the window, which faces the hotel’s interior (view of the elevator) and cannot be opened, so there’s no way to let in fresh air.

A compact, clean, affordable, convenient hotel in the heart of Little India and across from a MRT station. The room was good for a solo traveller like me. What I liked was how focused they are on reducing waste such as refillable water bottles (sparkling and still options), some toiletries on request, and a pantry near the lifts. There’s a free laundry for guests as well! I didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant but it looked very popular. There’s lots of good fun places to eat nearby. This hotel ticked all the boxes for me.

It was a short but comfortable stay. Wanderlust by The Unlimited Collection is a very good option for both long and short stays. As far as I remember it took Grab driver around 30 minutes to get to hotel from Changi airport. Both check-in and check-out were quick. Premier Studio room was very small, but clean and modern. My stay in Singapore was less than 24 hours so I didn’t care that much about a room size. Double bed was quite comfy. If one doesn’t mind walking. Distance to Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay from the hotel is approx 2-3 miles. Please take into the account - there is lot’s of construction works taking place in the city so getting to above places of interest on foot may take longer than usual. |I don’t mind staying at Wanderlust again should I visit Singapore in the future.

Interesting little hotel in a cool area. Wouldn’t say for an extended time, but great for a night or 2. Shower/toilet was encased in glass right next to the bed so that could be awkward.

We stayed here for 2 nights and the hotel didn't disappoint us (booked 1 room for 2 adults and 1 toddler). The room vibe are comfortable, the toilet aren't that cramped (its uber clean!!! Couldn't ask for more) and the bed are soft. There is also washing machine with dryer facility which is a plus point for travelling with toddler, also there is pantry for refilling drinking water as well as microwave/ oven to use. There are also plenty of restaurant nearby that are worthy to try. Overall we had a good experience staying here, also the receptionist are really kind if we need anything.

I would give it 3.5 stars, but since Google doesn’t have .5 stars, 4 it is. I have stayed in a few Ascott hotels and - this is for the management of Ascott to read - there is ALWAYS something which you ‘cut budget’ on. The stuff that other hotels will give you without question but with Ascott it’s either a plain ‘No’ or a real pain to ask. In this hotel it’s an extra pillow, and face towels. They basically don’t have extra pillows. Surprising! Ok that was the bad, the good is the rooms are nice; location is very good. A very short 3 mins walk to the jalan Besar MRT. A longer 5-7 mins walk to the Rochor MRT. Room is comfortable, kitchenette is well equipped. The toiletries are very nice smelling. Room is small, but the layout is quite unique. This is a treasure in the area: especially with most other hotels there are pay-by-the-hour. Sooooo many eateries around the area, from Malay, dimsum, mamak style, Chinese - all very good and some are known to have superbly good food. Will I stay in this hotel again? YES. But I will bring my own extra pillow and face towels. You should too!
