"The owner used to be a milkfish farmer and is extremely picky when he shops for milkfish. Customers come here for the freshest milkfish, shipped from Qigu daily in the small hours. As the name suggests, the signature is his milkfish skin with 0.3 mm of flesh attached, served either in a soup made with onion, fish, chicken and pork bones, or dressed in braised minced pork sauce. His Tainan-style congee and braised pork rice are also popular." - Michelin Inspector
Really amazing food that is not expensive. The milkfish soup and side dishes of veggies so yummy. Orders are placed by giving the checked paper menu to the cashier at the entrance, then you proceed to wait at your table. Payment is made when the food is delivered, which is very quickly done. Washroom was surprisingly clean for this place with so many customers.

It is a very big shop for selling fish skin soup. It is big, which means it is really worth visiting.
The price is local, the quality is fresh and good.
I had another small dish as fried fish intestines, which is chewy and rear to find.

A great Taiwanese local restaurant especially milky fish dishes. There is no aircon so it can be hot during day time. The prices are very good so it is kind of a budget restaurant and the seating is quite crowded. There is also a long queue for takeaway options. The porridge shop is also very popular and great for a quick bite! In addition, there are plenty of other Taiwanese dishes you can enjoy but it may take a bit longer to cook. Cash seems to be preferred and I am not sure whether you can pay by credit card / debit card, so please check.

I ordered 魚皮粥 and it was so tasty. Even though the meat is with fish skin, it's very soft and tasty. The soup is also tasty so you will surely enjoy eating rice in it as well.

Fish skin is delicious and fresh. Soup.. drink to the last drop. Oh not forgetting the oyster porridge super generous on the oyster. It's worth the trip.

Non pretentious and extremely popular eatery for fish.
Came half an hour before closing and it was still packed with locals.
Had the fried fish with soup and rice, fish balls, stir-fry cabbage and oyster soup on rice. Simple food but great taste.

It was a very 'fishy' meal in a small restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu wasn't extensive but the place definitely knew how to cook fish. The fishballs were amazing! I wish they didn't run out of cabbage or braised tofu though, would have loved to try those. There's a bus stop right outside the restaurant that goes to the city and this place is a 20-30 minute walk from the Tree House or Fort.

Fantastic place. The food was as delicious as the various travel guides claimed it to be. Very popular among the locals but larger on the inside than I expected so getting seated wasn't an issue. The staff were super friendly and helpful and I followed their advice on food choice and ended up with fishskin soup, fried fish belly and abowl of rice. Fantastic!
