Wang’s Broth delivers a deeply satisfying and honest bowl of beef noodle soup. The beef was tender and well-portioned, and the noodles had good structure and bite. There is nothing flashy here, and that’s precisely the appeal. The space is simple and functional, service is efficient, and the focus remains squarely on the food. This is comfort cooking done with confidence and consistency. I would happily return and recommend this to anyone wanting to understand why Taipei takes its beef noodles seriously.

Affordable, fast, and delicious. No line on a weekday at 10:30am, and seating was plentiful. The braised pork rice (滷肉飯) is delicious here — definitely one of my favorites. The flavor is on point and the pork has the right amount of meat and fat. I preferred the mushroom + pork version, though it’s more expensive (85 NTD). You can easily fill up for less than $10 USD here and enjoy a variety of dishes, and it’s hard to order wrong. Very deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. I’m definitely returning the next time I’m in Taipei.

The signature "Black Gold" Minced Pork Rice is amazing—rich, savory, and the glaze has a great texture. I also highly recommend the 清湯瓜仔肉; the broth is surprisingly clear and naturally sweet, which balances the richness of the rice perfectly. Don’t skip the Braised Duck Egg—it’s much more fragrant than a regular egg and a must-order side. Fast service and a clean spot in Wanhua. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited alone on a Sunday morning, arriving slightly before opening. There was a short queue. You order by choosing from the menu first, then finding a table and paying at the front before the food is served. The food came very quickly. Since I was alone, I ordered just a few dishes. • Stewed pork rice with mushroom: Very flavorful, with thick and tender pork belly, though a bit rich if eaten in large portions. • Sweet potato leaves: looked simply but surprisingly delicious — highly recommended. • Braised duck egg: Average taste and a bit too salty.

Visited here on 5th Jan during my Taiwan trip. The braised pork rice and stewed pork rice are highly recommended. Very scrumptious and flavourful. There is no queue when we were there. But I heard this shop is very famous among the local and tourist. Their staffs are very friendly and service was extremely fast.

Must-Order Dishes: • Stewed Pork Rice with Mushroom (香菇魯肉飯): The braised pork here is glossy and dark. The flavor is perfectly balanced—savory with a hint of sweetness, enriched by the earthy aroma of shiitake mushrooms. The pork practically melts in your mouth when eaten with their hot steamed rice. • Stewed Pork Rice (控肉飯): For those who love thick cuts, you must order the braised pork belly. The slabs are thick, the skin is delightfully chewy, and the meat is tender without being greasy at all.

We were in the neighborhood when we chose to have lunch here. Food: 5/5 we ordered the pork and mushroom rice, tofu and pork stew with mushrooms. All were tasty. A good place to experience Taiwanese rice. Service: 4/5 - service was okay. The routine is you grab a copy of the menu, check off what you want, go find a table and mark your table’s number on the paper, lineup, and pay. Atmosphere: 4/5 place is clean but limited seating. Avoid coming here during busy times like lunch. The place isn’t big enough to seat more than 3 people.

Wang’s Broth is a must-visit in Taipei! The braised pork rice is hands down one of the best I’ve had — rich, fragrant, and perfectly balanced without being overly oily. The pork meat soup is equally impressive, with tender meat and a comforting, flavourful broth that feels like a true local classic. Simple dishes done exceptionally well. If you want authentic Taiwanese comfort food, this place should be on your list.

No trip to Taiwan is complete without eating braised pork rice and Wang's Broth is a great place to start. They're a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, located inside Huaxi Street Night Market. Although it's called a night market, the strip of massage parlors and food stands were all open in the day time. This is an extremely cheap eat...such a good value for the amount of food you're getting. Don't be deterred by the long lines. It actually moved pretty fast and we snagged a spot very quickly. If you have a large group and you don't care about sitting together, break up into smaller groups to get serviced faster. You might have to sit next to strangers though. While you're waiting in line, you can start filling out the paper menu, which has both English and Chinese. Once you get a table, bring that menu to the front with your table number and pay first. Food comes out so quick! We ordered the Braised Pork Rice, Shredded Bamboo Shoots, and Sweet Potato Leaves to share. I wish there was a bit more meat for the pork rice but wow, the flavor was so good. Slightly sweet, super savory...and lots of small chunks of pork belly. The veggies were also good too. Overall, delicious meal and worth coming back again. Next time I'll need to try their soups and the slab of pork belly.

Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant serving up one of the most iconic dishes from Taiwan! We had to give it a try, and when we arrived there was a long line. However it moved fairly quick - due to the fast turnovers of tables and people knowing what they want! You fill out a paper form noting what you want, and once you pay the food comes out almost immediately! We got the Braised Pork Rice, Steamed Minced Pork with Pickles in Broth, and a Braised Duck Egg. The soup was nice and warming, and the duck egg was just OK. I also wish the Braised Pork Rice had more meat portion-wise, but also it felt like I was getting fat more than anything. If we weren't going to more food spots I would've also wanted to try some of their vegetable dishes! It was definitely delicious, but I was hoping for more considering the line and title.

My first meal after arriving in Taipei! I can't begin to describe how delicious this meal was. Lu rou fan is such a Taiwanese classic and this was lived up to the hype! Place was bustling when I visited. The place has a sizeable interior with seating inside and outside. Menu is pretty straightforward. There's a paper where you mark what you want and proceed to the counter to pay. Got the braised pork and mushroom served with rice (signature dish). It was braised to perfection, with deep flavor. Also got some tofu, egg, cabbage, bamboo shoots, and stir fried veggies. Meal was so comforting and delicious, would definitely come back again when I'm in Taiwan!

It's delicious. Not only is the pork scrumptious, but the side dishes are delicious as well. We ordered both types of meat with mushrooms, tofu, cabbage, yam leaves, bamboo, duck eggs and fish soup. The fish soup was very refreshing and cut the grease from all the meat dishes. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Grab a table first, then go up with your order and pay. Food comes out so fast you'll barely have time to sit down. It's fast paced here so no dilly dallying!

Wang's Broth is in the middle of an enclosed street flanked by food vendors. It's self-seated, just grab a table (you can also sit outside the restaurant) and menu, which are in English. Make sure to put your table number on your menu after you fill out your order too, then give it to the cashier up front (you pay first). Bathrooms located in the back. Obviously, the stewed and braised pork dishes are the stars of the show, so don't leave without trying them. However, the tofu and the chicken are also very good. One small complaint is that the pork is very thick, unctuous, and well-seasoned, so you'll definitely need lots of rice, as well as something cold to wash it down with. Prices aren't the best, but still worth that Michelin star taste. Portions are quite small (one person can eat two of the small sizes), so order lots of food!

It's a 10 minute walk from Long Shan temple Taipei and across from the Night market. Long line by noon but it moves quickly for 7 people. We waited for about 20 minutes but in the meantime we figured out what we wanted and put it on the white order slip (for eat-in) They have consistently received Michelin Bib Gourmand recognitions. Everything is cooked in the open kitchen and they put together the order when we paid. We ordered braised pork with mushroom rice bowl, clear fish soup, and mackerel. It was as good as comfort food goes. The fish soup was the best. It was fresh seafood sweetness with ginger. Smooth the soul after a long trip. My husband said the mackerel was good, it was cooked in teriyaki sauce. The braised pork was a topping on the rice and the flavor blended really well. I didn't give 5 stars because they rushed the kids and the waiter took away the food even before they were finished. Inside is like fast food restaurant set-up and it's clean.

They're a popular restaurant that sells braised pork rice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If you're dining in, grab a menu, find a place to sit, and mark down the items you want. Then you go to the front to pay and they'll bring you your food. I ordered the Braised Pork Rice and they have small bits of braised pork, so it's not a lot. The braised duck egg, braised cabbage, and stewed pork were all really good as well. The sauce was perfect and perfect to mix with rice. And best of all, it was cheap! Just walking around some market. Got seated pretty quick. Food came out fast. But when we left. The line is already forming. When you come in take a menu and pencil and start looking at what options you want to order. The tables are first come and first serve basis.

Saw so many posts about this Michelin-recommended spot (since 2019) for its braised pork rice with a savory-sweet, gelatinous sauce--we had to try it. We made a special stop from the metro and went during off-hours around 4 pm, so there was no line. We ordered two bowls and they were incredibly savory and delicious. Best part? Only 40 TWD for a small bowl (about $1.28 USD). When you arrive, there are English instructions: grab the white menu, find a table, write down your order, take it to the counter to pay, and they'll bring your food to you. Fast, simple, and so worth it. I'll definitely be back.

After a full day of exploring Taipei, we ended our night with a stroll through Huaxi Street Night Market. This certainly isn't the most famous street food option in Taipei when you have options like Raohe and Shilin, but Huaxi has its own charm and appeal. One of those is Wang's Broth. The shop is located near the northern end of the night market (conveniently close to the other two Michelin recognized restaurants in the area). We had arrived around evening time. There were plenty of people coming in and out of the shop. Thankfully, there were still seating options if you look close enough. We grabbed the menu ordering sheet outside and found a seat. My dad filled out our order. He went to the counter, paid, and before he came back, part of order had already arrived. That's how fast they were. The rest of our order also arrived at our table promptly. The braised pork rice was truly mouth-watering. This was our first order of lu rou fan on the trip. Although we didn't have a comparison to go off of, this definitely set the bar high. The pork melts in your mouth. The sauce that's used to braise goes hand-in-hand with the rice. Match made in heaven. Before you know it, everything is gone. I wish there was more in a single order. Howeer, for a little over $2 USD, it's reasonable to just order more (which is what we did). As a side, we also got the tofu and egg. Both are braised in the same broth as the pork. Hence, both have the same delicious flavor. We had to dedicate a bowl of rice solely because of how good these were. Another side we got were the shredded bamboo shoots - nice and crunchy. Other dishes we got include the sweet potato leaves. These had a subtle ginger flavor that cut through the richness of everything else. The next two were surprising highlights to our dinner. The fish soup itself was good with a not so intense savoriness. Though what really brought it out was the wasabi that came with it. The pairing of the fish from the soup with the wasabi was phenomenal. Then the other hidden gem was the 'boiled chicken'. It might not sound the most appetizing but it's really reminiscent of white cut chicken with ginger scallion sauce that you'd find in Cantonese cuisine. The chicken was smooth with a bouncy skin. The sauce was a perfect compliment. Overall, I found this place to be 100% worth a visit.

First stop in our travel to Japan and we're in Taiwan for an hour layover. Heading to our terminal, we found a food court that had a variety of offers from noodles, Xiaolong bao, and rice meals. We stopped by wang's broth and hot coffee at a nearby store as well. Ordering here is a breeze since there are self check out POS systems along the corridor facing the restaurants. Just be weary as there are plenty of travelers looking to eat here too. Seats are limited because of that. Thankfully, we were able to share a table with others to dine in. We ordered the braised pork rice with soup and tea, and my gf ordered the same thing but with fish soup. It was the perfect thing to wolf down after a long flight and felt like home cooked meals my dad or mom would make. For the price too, it's very reasonable. Definitely stop by if you're transferring to different flights and have time to chow down!

The best Lu Rou Fan I had in Taiwan! Was excited to try this Michelin Bib Gourmand place, and glad to say it didn't disappoint. The flavor, texture, and consistency of the pork sauce is very good quality, better than the ones I tried at other Night Markets. The cabbage also has a nice seasoning and flavor to it. For $2 USD total, our meal was very worth it. You order by checking off items on a sheet of paper, and the service was very quick. It's located in the Huaxi Street Night Market, but they also have an interior seating area. Would recommend anyone looking for Lu Rou Fan in Taipei to come here.

Located inside 華西街夜市, Wang's Broth has a simple but tasty menu, not surprised that it stayed on Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand List consistently. Known or their braised pork rice and steamed soup; the shop also serves side dishes like braised cabbage, bamboo shoots, tofu, stewed pork, and boiled chicken. The shop has gone through renovation for a modern open kitchen with some indoor seating with AC, but there are more outdoor tables to seat the diners. There's always a long line due to the popularity and various tourists, but it moves fairly quickly. Ordering there the first time may be daunting, but it's pretty straightforward: 1. Grab a order slip (white slip for dine-ins and yellow slip for take outs) 2. Stand in line to prepay 3. Wait and enjoy the food! TIP: To speed up ordering for party of 2+, have 1 person wait in line while the other person scout for an available table. Once the table is secured, then write the table number on the dine-in order slip to order. With a big team working, the staff constantly busts and cleans tables, so the turnaround time is pretty fast. At times, you may need to share table with others, which is quite common in Taiwan. I tried the following signature dish: * 滷肉飯 (Braised pork rice) NT$35 for small / NT$65 for large: the braised pork rice is very flavorful with tender meat/skin; it just melts in your mouth without feeling fatty. With the right balance of savory and sweetness, the braided pork rice is a homey and comforting food. * 清湯瓜仔肉 (Steamed minced pork with pickles in broth) NT$70: it's a little small bowl of soup for the price of NT$70, but the broth is light and refreshing, and meat is tender. Recommend to add white pepper to elevate the flavor. Total about US$3.30, it's a satisfying meal and cheap eat! Definitely recommend to try in the area, especially it's a short walk from 龍山寺 Long Shan Temple.

Great stop at C3 gate. No line. The food was delicious. We got number 1. And just what we needed after long flight.

Tip (how to order): Make sure you grab an ordering slip at the front. After you find a seat, write the table number on the slip, *then give the waitstaff your slip. Top notch, and highly deserving of Michelin guide. This is one of my top two spots for lu rou fan in Taipei. We got cabbage, braised tofu, and duck eggs as sides. All told, to feed 5 people, we needed no more than $30 USD. Crazy value. Waitstaff and the kitchen both are extremely efficient, and the restaurant is fairly modernized, very clean and has all the provisions an American diner would need. Here are a few tips for the dishes: * The most popular "classic" minced pork over rice is slightly salty. It's still very delicious, and the slightly salty is just me being picky. But if you're picky too, get the minced pork with mushroom specifically, which is a better balanced dish. * The braised tofu (large) comes with four pieces. I assume the small comes with two. Depending on how many people there are in your party, you can plan accordingly. * The braised duck egg is amazing. If you've only had chicken eggs before, you can imagine this is just a better flavored, larger version. You otherwise wouldn't be able to tell. I've been here countless times. Will be coming back again soon!

I'm not saying I was the first person there, but I definitely gave the staff "oh no, they're already here?" energy. Worth it. This place has had a Michelin star for six years running (?), and after one bite, I understood. The star isn't just for show, it's a GPS location and beacon for your tastebuds to follow. Ordering is as easy as breathing- or in this case, drooling. A table at the entrance is stacked with order slips in multiple languages. You tick what you want, no guesswork, no awkward pointing, no shame. The staff knows you're here to eat and not chat about your feelings. You hand over your sacred slip, and a few minutes later--bam! Food appears like magic. No fanfare. No speeches. Just pork, rice, and destiny. The menu is refreshingly simple: stewed pork or braised pork. Two dishes, one mission... to ruin all other meals for you. The stewed pork is a thick, luscious slice of pork belly, the kind that glistens under the light like it's posing for a food magazine centerfold. Fat, skin, meat; layered like a perfect porky tiramisu. It melted in my mouth in a way that made me reconsider all past life decisions. I would fight someone for another piece. Politely, but firmly, of course... Then there's the braised pork: minced pork belly in a slightly different sauce. Good, hearty, a little more casual. Honestly, the stewed pork was clearly the main event, and the braised pork felt like the attractive and emotionally available side character in a K-drama. Comforting. Reliable. There if you need it. Whereas the stewed pork is the emotionally unavailable character that you had for the one night stand that you yearn to come back to. To round it out, I added boiled cabbage for fiber (yes, I have goals) and a duck egg, because balance is about contrasting a rich pork belly with something vaguely healthy-looking. The portions are small-ish, which I loved because it meant I could shamelessly order two mains and pretend I was "sampling" rather than "spiraling." The best part... The price. A small portion of stewed pork ala cart is just 70 NTD. My whole meal: two rice bowls, side egg, and a side of cabbage came in under 200 NTD. That's less than $6 USD for a Michelin-star moment that made me whisper, "I'd marry this pig." I don't know what the Taiwanese equivalent of "mama mia!" is, but I'm pretty sure I shouted it. Wang's Broth, you glorious meat wizard--take my money, take my soul, take my arteries. Just never take away that pork.

A gem in Taipei. Go there early to avoid crowd. Honestly the food is great as breakfast, lunch or dinner.
