So I finally realized that I needed glasses to drive if I ever wanted to live long enough to reap the rewards of senior discounts, early bird specials and AARP - not just yet mind you, but soon. I'm also kind of ornery and don't take kindly to millennials talking down to me because I'm their mom's age - we gave you rap and punk rock, show some respect! So I was a little wary about coming in here, what with their hipster website and all, but figured I could just make them cry if they were rude to me (key word: ornery) so I gave it a go.
This review is based on a culmination of several visits since it took a couple tries to get it right, mostly because of me, I'm a lens-wearing neophyte, so it took some teaks. I now realize that I'm an age-ist (not sure if that's a real word, it's like an age racist.) I had some not-quite-5-star review experiences with folks of all ages at WP, but in the end, my experiences with Michael and Rebecca made me a fan.
The first pair I got were all wrong, the frames were too small for my prescription. So I came back in and Rebecca immediately knew I needed different frames, so we picked some new frames and ordered them right away. Rebecca's closer to my age so this just reinforced my age-ism. I continued to struggle with my new glasses and WP has a satisfaction guarantee, so I came in again, but Rebecca wasn't there! I was crushed...
Enter Michael, I was wary...he was clearly too young to remember the Biggie/Tupac rivalry, let alone understand my myopia both figurative and literal. But dear reader I was wrong, oh so wrong.
Michael didn't just bend my frames and tell me to get used to them; he didn't just tell me that the lenses had to sit on my cheeks to avoid scraping my eyelashes, no my friends he did not! He ordered different lenses that adjusted where the focal points were! He extended my "warranty" to make sure I was happy! He offered to refund all my cash if I just wanted to sack the whole enchilada!
Ah Michael, you give me hope for the future of this great nation of ours, even if you don't remember when Sid killed Nancy (just google it)!
