The food is very mid. The Kouign Amman is criminally bad. The $10+ savory pastries are heated in a microwave, so served soggy. Coffee is good, but the house syrups are twice as sweet as needed. Turbinado as the default is nice, but sharing an open container with randos isn't the quaint flex the shop thinks it is.
Staff are generally nice, but the restaurant itself has inhospitable vibes. Inside seating is cramped, while outside seating is mostly low chairs with janky coffee tables that are very uncomfortable to eat on. According to the Free Press, they chose this on purpose to increase table turnover... so welcoming! Laptops are not allowed, which is whatever... but they have no signage on this policy anywhere in the store or on the website. People still do it, but staff selectively tells people to put them away. Something about watching a grown adult get admonished to put their things away with no forewarning is wildly off-putting, even as a bystander.
I'm giving two stars because the coffee is pretty good and the grounds of the business complex are very lovely. All in all, I'd say it's a solid place to grab a to-go coffee for a walk, but not a good place to eat or hang out.
