Wonderful across the board! Today, we picked up sea scallops that are gorgeous and 2 weeks ago, we picked up a supremely fresh whole red snapper that roasted up beautifully. High recommendation here!

This was our first time at Ward's ☺️ They have a wonderful selection of all types of seafood, salads, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!!!

I’ve been going to Ward’s for over two decades. They have both raw and prepared foods. Going to try and upload my photos again - if you don’t see them just know they have a huge fish and shrimp selection. Also king crab claws and lobster tank when in season. You have the option to pick out your seafood and request them to cook it. You can also order from their menu (sorry forgot to take photo of their menu). If they’re busy, take a ticket by the door and the staff will help by calling out numbers in order. Their food is so fresh and delicious. I get their fish dip, blackened salmon and blackened chicken skewers regularly. They also have shelves of sauces and a small produce area with herbs and lemons/limes. If needed, ask for a small bag of ice with your purchase (they usually ask anyway). If you haven’t been, go in as their staff is super friendly and their seafood selection is great!

What an awesome surprise stumbling on Ward’s! I’ve been coming to Largo my whole life and never realized it was there. The fresh fish market is top shelf but the prepared foods are outstanding as well. Highly recommend the blackened amberjack, crab cakes and smoked fish spread but even the basic fish and chips is delicious. Cannot wait to go back! (Forgot to take photos of the other food but this is the fish spread)

I am new to the area and I have to admit the selection of fresh fish is awesome. One would have thought they would know how to cook it. I ordered a grouper filet and was very specific about not overcooking it, more to medium rare. I have been to cooking school and fish is something I do...I was pressed for time and thought it would be easier to do take out. When I told them to undercook it, since fish continues to cook anyway when pulled off, they looked at me like I was nuts and said he would communicate that to the cook. Well, the filet came out over cooked just like I was afraid it would, and for grouper which isn't cheap that was irritating to say the least. I will be back to buy fresh next time, but will not waste my money on take out.

Small place, 40min away from me. Called and they answered my questions before driving there. The place is clean, very well organized and the staff are extremely attentive. Was given time to browse and when I looked up they were there to help. I bought 2# of PEI mussels. These were not prepackaged like other places. These were hand picked, no dead ones at all. Asked about the sweetest shrimp and bought a pound of them. Great selection of seasonings to purchase. Girl at the register asked if I wanted ice for the mussels, and double bagged the order. Out of the 2# I bought I lost 4. Great tasting, plump quality mussels. The shrimp were amazing also. I will definitely drive the distance soon for more seafood. It is my go to seafood shop now!

I bought one pound of crawfish and this was all I got...most of it was all heads and no body.

Good place for fresh seafood although it is not inexpensive. The service is very good and the people behind the counter are helpful. I bought fresh cod last week and was informed that the cod delivery was every Thursday so, good information for the next trip. I was disappointed after purchasing frozen crab. It had not been properly handled (possibly not even by Ward's) before being frozen. I won't buy it again. But their fresh seafood is better than any grocery store, for sure.

Best seafood selection in the area! I love the fact that one of the staff members stays with you for your entire order. They always have a huge selection of different sizes and types of shrimp. And almost every type of Grouper available in the area. And a huge variety of pre-made salads, dips, crab cakes and lots of other super yummy side dishes.

LOVE the staff here. My goodness, so attentive and happy to answer questions. Didn't try to rush, and gave excellent advice. I'm traveling home tomorrow, so I'm taking some seafood with me, and they gave great advice. Also ordered a pound of steamed royal reds. Bag of shrimp for dinner for us! What a great way to end a trip. Thank you, Ward's!

Great smoked shrimp spread! Excellent conch fritters and coconut shrimp! Seafood lasagna was good. I look forward to trying more of their deli offerings as well as their fresh cooked menu.

This fish market is a hidden gem in the area. I was able to find sushi grade tuna to make poke bowls from home- this was difficult for me to find as grocery stores nearby do not have sushi grade fish. The service was quick and attentive. Will be returning to try other cuts of fresh fish.

Best place to buy seafood near Clearwater! Bought some shrimp to cook on the grill and it was really fresh and easy to peel and clean. Very affordable and much cheaper than eating out every night

Ward's seafood is an incredible find in Largo, FL. If you're looking for fresh seafood or cooked, you can find it all at Ward's! We recently stopped at Ward's to pick up fried fish and chips. They have portion sizes for big eaters as well as small. The best deal is the Captain's Fish & Chips special. It comes with two meals comprising four fillets of Alaskan pollock served with french fries, lemon, tartar sauce, and coke slaw for $13.95. We then drove 15 minutes before eating, and it was delicious! Previously, we ordered grilled grouper sandwiches, and they were excellent as well! Ward's is everything a fresh seafood shop should be: It's packed with all types of seafood and cheerful people. Cases of seafood line the length of the shop. Though it's a couple miles up from the beach, it looks like it belongs on the docks.

Ward's Seafood Market is a friendly and welcoming place where the staff is very helpful in answering questions. During our visit, we picked up shrimp, grouper, and halibut for several meals this week. We also tried their amazing octopus salad, which was a delightful addition to our purchase.

Has a lock on door and only after vetting do they allow you to come in. Strangest place ever !

Disappointed in the food, but the selection of seafood was excellent. I ordered the crab cakes dinner plate and it was 90% flavorless filler material (assumed bread crumbs) and $17.95 is lot to pay for a plate of bread crumbs! The side of coleslaw was fresh but equally lacking as was the tartar sauce. And the rice was ok but, as with everything else in here, it lacked flavor. Friendly and helpful staff but that won't make up for the below average food.

I have stopped by for takeout several times for their blackened mahi sandwich. I have never had a better mahi sandwich anywhere. Highly recommend this place for great food, fresh seafood and always friendly service.

The display case is an incredible amount of different fresh fish . We chose to have our fish cooked into a fish dinner and it was just marvelous the best piece of fish I've had in Florida stay up for very helpful and friendly.

I bought 2 dozen little neck clams and when I went to cook them the next day 20 were dead. In the trash. It's a typical fish market atmosphere, older building. Most of the staff very helpful except for the woman who assisted me. I was very disappointed as I drove from St. Pete to get some fresh clams. Turns out the ones I purchased at Publix were great.

Another trip to Sarasota and first place we went. Great dinner as always. Was joined this trip with my wife and daughter. We all had great meals and still a cool cozy little piece of heaven. Stopped in before we left to get a cooler of fresh fish to take home with us.

They got a great selection of fish/seafood. They also have frozen ones, and seasonings for your needs! The staff are nice, some can give you a weird vibe. But mostly nice. They also have already made food, too. Lots of parking space. They have fresh local fishes like grouper and snapper.

This place has the freshest seafood. We purchase their fresh seafood to prepare at home. But, we get an order prepared by them (whatever fresh seafood you select) to share on the way home. The hush puppies are perfect and the seafood cooked to perfection.

Great place to get fresh sea food. The pre-made foods are have too much junk/crap ingredients in them, so I pass.

Best seafood in town! We love their fish and chips special. Their fish spread and shrimp are also top quality and taste and they're the only place to get fresh live Maine lobsters.

Exactly what you expect from dice good quality fish and chips. Nice and crispy fish and fries, and fish is not bland either:) I'm pretty sure they use fish caught that day or the day prior. Fresh for sure though

I have been going to Wards Seafood for many years and the seafood is always fresh and delicious. Wards also cooks fresh seafood meals at their location that is equally delicious. I highly recommend Wards.

Just came here to say that their fish and chips are the best in town. Truly excellent. Lightly breaded (battered? I don't know. That's how light it was. Also, now I'm questioning if I'm certain of the difference. To the dictionary!! ‍). I'm pretty much off carbs and deep fry stuff these days, but if I'm going to fall of that wagon, I'll be making sure I park it in front of Ward's first.

Never have I gotten take out and the fries were still crispy and delicious when I got home. Mind you I had a 35minute drive. The fish was crispy outside and the fish tasted fresh and was flaky. I also picked up some clams, a crab cake that I can cook at home and some snapper. The fish is definitely fresh. Stop by and try for yourself!

I go to Wards at least once a week for some variety of fresh fish. On my way to the register I always have to pass by the prepared food case and each time I always eye the crab cakes. Well this past week I gave in and purchased two for my husband and me. We were not disappointed--they were DELICIOUS!!!!

This is my go to seafood market! It's family owned and the prices are pretty good. Seafood is never cheap but it's worth it. The prices are comparable to Whole Foods. They have such a great selection of fresh and local seafood, you can find anything here even live lobsters and smoked salmon. They also offer seafood salads and other deli like side dishes. The shrimp tortellini pasta is really good! I haven't tried their cafe yet but they have a little area where you can get hot food like fish and chips or salmon, etc. Take out is also offered. They have their own parking lot and service is usually good and quick.

Bought a dozen oysters and half of them were bad. I am a long time customer but the current service is below average, specially since I drove all the way from st Pete. This place used to be great.

We have been here every time my husband and I visit Clearwater. Needless to say, it's the freshest seafood market around! There is a vast selection and the staff is extremely helpful. So, for tonight we decided on Grouper. We were unsure of what the difference between the 3 Grouper selections they had were and our service lady was quite helpful with her explanations of each. Tonight we ended up with Scamp Grouper, which according to the clerk is the filet mignon of Grouper. The other choices were Black then Red. Scamp and black swim in deeper waters is sweeter and a larger fish. Red grouper is a smaller fish that swims in shallower waters. It just depends on your taste. We also purchased 2 crab cakes (uncooked). Might, I mention that if you do purchase uncooked fish, or prepared fish, they have cooking instructions printed out on a stand on the counter for you to take home. Most instructions have 3 different ways to cook or reheat your fish, whether that be baked , pan seared or broiled. Microwave instructions for precooked items. I must say after several years of vacationing here regularly, we always (almost daily) come here for freshest fish to either to grill, bake , broil, or pan sear. Their prices are competitive and they have many additional seasonings, sauces that you may need. They also have a great order/ pickup area for fried fish / menu items with a couple tables to sit and enjoy. Ward's Seafood is a must in the Clearwater area! Keep up the great work!

Ive been going to Wards for years. If you want the best freshest Florida seafood this is a a great place. I'm having medium Florida pink shrimp for dinner tonight. After baying fresh shrimp, you will NEVER go back to frozen. Their shrimp are meaty and delicious. Ill be buying stone crabs soon. They're expensive but worth a one a year treat.

I kindly asked that they be steamed and ready for pickup between 3:30 -4PM on Friday, Xmas Eve. I had to leave my credit card info to reserve these and was sure to REPEAT AND REPEAT SEVERAL TIMES that my husband would pick them up around 3:30 and I expected them to be HOT! Fast Forward to 2PM today - Xmas Eve. I receive a phone call from Ms. Cameron from Ward's. She informs me that the Lobsters are COLD and were ready for pickup at 8AM THIS MORNING!! First of all, who picks up a hot lobster at 8AM in the morning and I didn't even know they were open that early. I would not have gotten out of bed at 7AM to go pick up 2 lobsters to the tune of $150.00 to eat that evening! That makes no sense at all. Seeing that my husband was already at Ward's he paid the $150.00 and she gave me instructions to 'warm them up in the oven". Well, we decided at 4:30 to just eat them cold. Now the lobsters were dripping black, watery bile. And, when we pulled the tails off waiting for the Tamale Delicacy awaiting us - it was pure dark, forest green and it smelled!. The meat was so watery and soggy that I just knew they cooked these lobsters 24 hours or more ago and had them in the fridge. Disgusting shells that actually bent between our fingers. Seriously? Are not lobster shells supposedly hard and to be cracked with a mallet or nut cracker? They were disgusting; and, after eating one claw each of soggy meat, they are now in the fridge. Guess i will make lobster salad or something with them. I had phoned at 1PM to make sure the order was ready and another gentleman answered and said "There is a cooking staff that takes care of the orders - I just answer the phone!" He couldn't look to see if my lobsters were ready for steaming? I wouldn't be surprised if these lobsters were not put in a large freezer in the back. I am from Rhode Island and used to scuba dive and catch lobsters in traps - I know what a good lobster should look, feel and taste like. Do yourself a favor, go to Red Lobster and order 2 for yourself and skip this dive. They are deceitful and dishonest. She said I specifically asked for 8AM pickup- OMG!!! Merry Christmas, Ms. Cameron, you sure spoiled our's

My favorite spot to plot and plan for our next delicious seafood adventure!! Whether is Scottish salmon, crab claws, gulf shrimp, oysters or sea bass this is my happy place!! Get some honey smoked salmon to start.

We purchased $200 worth of stone crab and lobster tail. Didn't notice during cooking, however, the lobster reeked of ammonia. We paid $80 for those tails. Hopefully they will honor our purchase and give us our money back.

Get there early to beat the rush. Top notch staff and quality product! They will take the time to clean your choice should it not meet your standards. Highly recommend for wide variety of fresh seafood

This is a great place to get seafood! Everyone is greeted when they walk in the door. The help they provide is excellent. We had access to a grill when visiting and they recommended what was fresh and good to put on the grill. They were spot on with their recommendation. The fish was excellent when cooked. We also picked up a few crab cakes, wow! Those were really good. To the point we'd consider ordering them and having Ward's ship them to us back home. They do have a small area where you can order prepared foods and a seating area. The selection of seafood overall is impressive. They also have a few shelves with some very basic grocery needs and seasonings. I didn't find the prices all that bad. Sure, you can probably get fish cheaper at the supermarket, but it's not going to be as fresh. Overall, a very positive experience.

What a fantastic seafood market! They have everything one could hope for, including prepared foods and a kitchen. And, the staff was very friendly. We bought shrimp (which they peeled and deveined) and some Scottish smoked salmon. Both were excellent. Whenever I'm in the area, I'll be back here to pick up some fresh fish.

Amazing selection of fresh seafood and great side dishes too. Staff was really friendly and helpful. If you're not adverse to spending a few minutes over a skillet with some butter and old bay you can have a lot better meal than you'll find anywhere else. Would highly recommend this place.

Good fresh seafood. Great prices. Lunch ready in 10-20 minutes fresh and delicious. We had the mahi-mahi one grilled one blacked. Both very tasty. Good coleslaw and hush puppies. Definitely recommended.

They are so much drinking the covid Kool-Aid! Everybody's messed up they look at you funny when you don't walk in with a mask I asked the lady where the tables and chairs went she said the owner took them away when the pandemic first started he hasn't decided if he's going to bring them back I just spent $24 on lunch and I'm sitting in my car waiting for my food so I can eat it in my car give me a freaking break!
