"Ulla Winbladh was originally built as a steam bakery for the 1897 Stockholm World Fair and is set in charming parkland beside the Skansen open-air museum. Sit on the terrace or in the older, more characterful part of the building. Typical Swedish dishes include the likes of fish roe and sweet and sour herring." - Michelin Inspector

We had dinner at Wärdshuset Ulla Winbladh and were truly impressed by the beautiful, serene location and the well-maintained gardens—both indoor and outdoor. The setting is peaceful and elegant, and cleanliness throughout was outstanding. However, the dining experience fell well short of expectations. With the exception of the head waiter who welcomed us warmly, the entire service staff appeared exhausted and disengaged—no smiles, no warmth, even when tipped. This was consistent across tables, not just ours. The food, unfortunately, was very disappointing. The bread was cold, hard, and clearly not fresh. The butter was so firm it crumbled. I ordered the poached cod dish—what arrived was a bland, thawed-tasting fillet with no sauce, just a sprinkle of salt and a single dill sprig. It was served over bland, clearly frozen nano-sized shrimp and crumbled egg bits, accompanied by a side of plain boiled potatoes—which, ironically, were the best part of the dish. My friend ordered the herring and found it barely edible. With only nine main dishes on the menu, we expected focus and quality. Sadly, what we received was far below standard for a restaurant of this reputation and price point. A beautiful venue—worth a walk around—but not worth dining at unless major changes are made to food quality and staff engagement.

Beautiful restaurant, makes you feel at home. I loved the traditional swedish food on menu. Great location to catch up with friends. Only hope I get to go during summer.

A beautiful restaurant near to the Vasa Museum serving authentic Swedish Cuisine. Food is excellent and I highly recommend the Veal Liver, it's very delicious and the portion is large, not easy to find this dish in other restaurants in Sweden. Service is attentive and friendly and the outdoor seating has a very good atmosphere. A must try whenever you're in Stockholm.

Beautiful restaurant with classic Swedish fare. Great service and ambiance. We had toast Skagen as appetizer and it was very good - almost on the dry side. For main course we had meat balls and they were a bit underwhelming - quite hard and dry. Not what we expected. We also had the Biff Rydberg which was magnificent. Perfectly cooked with a really tasty mustard cream. Overall well worth a visit and a great representation of the best of Swedish food tradition.

Beautiful restaurant in a perfect location on Djurgården. Lovely ambiance, excellent food, attentive service, and a terrace with wonderful park views. A great place to experience Stockholm at its best.

Our hotel recommended this place for some good Swedish food and it didn’t disappoint! The old-timey room was charming and the food was delicious including the crawfish and the cod. Of the many meatballs we tried on this trip, these were my favorite. The only disappointing dish was the roe because the toast was oddly very bitter. The service was rather slow but charming by our Elvis Costello look alike waiter.

Bland ! Very limited menue that never change ! Terrible thin steaks with lots of fat and gristle ! I can buy 2 kilo gristle meat for the price of this plate ! The coloured uggly stone plates that was different than everyone's white classic plates?! The steaks looked different followed by nothing than cheap fries , no vegetable, just some burned salad leaf and a few tomatoes !!!! The fish was better but the so called Rydberg left everyone who had it hungry! 5 small pieces is all you get. As mentioned so limites and simply boring for 2025.. eating out should be an experience and definitely not just filling up your stomach. Cut the story short we all went for pizza afterwards.

While the food was amazing, we waited over an hour for our orders. I much prefer the indoor seating to outdoor, even though it was sunny and breezy. The indoor atmosphere feels much more homey.
