The experience and the staff was very nice, but I didn't get to purchase anything because I'm not from the U.S and I don't walk around with my passport. I had my ID and I thought it was to verify age but they don't take ID from outside the states. That was disappointing

It was a funny store I know about this store. One of my friends asked me for help to find an expensive wine that she accidently finished a bottle by herself and that bottle of wine was her ex-boyfriend wine and she need to buy back for him. We were searching around, actually it was me, lol. I found the expensive one she wants at this place and back then was only $39.99. I told my lovely friend and she was able to cover up and her ex didn't know show was replaced it. Sine she was a drinker expert, she told me I must try this wine one day. So today I have a chance I went to store but about 2 years later the price went up to $42.99 which is I don't mind. I got 2 anyway since it was a good wine and it guarantee by 2 heavy drinker.

The establishment maintains a comprehensive inventory. The personnel are exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and provide amiable service. Furthermore, the pricing is competitive, and complimentary gift-wrapping services are offered for bottles.

Google
While this store has a great selection their practices have rubbed me the wrong way. On multiple occasions I’ve signed up for in stock text alerts for a hard to find tequila only to be told they’re out of stock when I go looking to purchase. It’s obvious at this point they are holding the bottles back for whom they choose and not allowing people to walk in and buy or even order online (they’ll just cancel it). I can understand taking care of a good customer every now and then but pretending you’re out of stock every time is poor form.

This place has better prices than Astor Wine! It is smaller bit still has good selection! Has more of mama and papa store. Highly recommended 👌 👍

On April 16, 2023 I walked into this Warehouse wine & Spirits store has lots of selections of wine, liquor, beer, sake. This place is huge & well organized. The staff are very friendly and will help with any questions. Would recommend to buy from here. Be well and stay safe. Cheers

They still have a broad selection but 1. No longer carry the label I used to buy there; 2. No longer seem to have a clearance section.

Yelp
Terrific assortment of wines and spirits for whatever you're in the mood for. Walking in I didn't know what to expect--though unsurprisingly as with most wine and liquor stores it's a large space with rows and shelves full of bottles. Each section and aisle is labeled by region and type of alcohol. This spot isn't as fancy as Astor's down the street though I'm good with that--they still have plenty of descriptions for a wine novice like me to browse around and find something I like. Many affordable options as well. Service when I've dropped by a couple times has been friendly though I heard it can be hit or miss.

Yelp
Went here because Astor Wines was opening later, My Usual Liquor Store...was CARDED for proof of Identity here.....lol.. NEVER happens at Astor... The guy helping me couldn't have been nicer, tho the checkout person, not so much...lol... maybe I'll come back, tho The Astor Employees know me and are more friendly... not hard to do or be.. Makes ALL the difference...

Yelp
Randomly stopped in after going to the NYU Bookstore across the street. Walking in, it's a bit crowded, but only because they have a great selection and variety. I found a bottle I've been looking for and was thrilled to grab it up. The staff were kind and helpful and I appreciated their smiles. They were quick to assist and we're good for a quick chat. If I had more time, I'd have explored the store a bit more. Whether looking for something specific or wanting to find something new, I think this is a great spot for all of the above.

Yelp
5 star for items 1-star for check out person I am on a cane one handed kind of and she would not bag my rather expensive 4 items and walk away from the counter until I requested a bag. Yecks! It's getting to be more and more not kind to shop for anything at retail stores. I use to work retail and I'm always surprised by the number of personal phone calls made when people are working supposedly

Yelp
They have a decent selection. But the the staff is hardly ever friendly and scanning customers' IDs is super suspect and weird. Avoid.

Yelp
Overall all right budget liquor store. Selection is pretty much standard run of the mill popular items. Centrally and conveniently located.

Ms. T.

Yelp
The guy on the floor giving information about different drinks, was excellent. The woman by the register that claimed to be a manager (looked like Roseanne, from when the show first came on), wasn't helpful AT ALL. I was so upset, and this has been one of my stops when I'm in the neighborhood, for YEARS. NEVER have I EVER had to SHOW ID!!! Expired or not, it still verified age--which again, shouldn't have to be done, as it was NEVER done here, before. RIDICULOUS!!!! In a Dumocratic Chitty like this, there are few things that bring law-abiding, tax paying citizens JOY. We are robbed everywhere we turn, penalized for paying, and now this. PATHETIC, is the word of the day. I LOVE this place, but to be told "NO", for being an ADULT, who wants what they want?!?! I guess I have to line up by the bus, and wait for them to give me a fresh ID, while I wait for mine in the mail. Oops. My mistake. $.05 for bags, while thieves leave with theirs full of free things, and now ID'd in one of my favorite stores, and areas. High class (low grade) horsest. I am happy/not happy to see that I'm not the only one upset by this change, that she claimed started in January (then showed a paper with no date on it). I was really feeling singled out. This isn't right, and I'm sure they like being in business--so it has to STOP. The laws don't apply to anyone but the productive consumer, and it SUCKS. *Make no mistake, I'm getting what I went for, but 'they' lose the $. Cash, so it couldn't even be traced--but as other reviews noted, ZERO common sense applied.

Yelp
Stopped in just to see what they had and it's a pretty vast selection. I've recently been introduced to Malfy Gin Blood Orange and was having a challenging time finding. Low and behold they had it here. The cashier was also very pleasant, and we chatted about the Lemon Gin of the same brand. If in the area again I'll swing into pickup other items that I keep on hand.

Yelp
With home delivery and all these days from almost any liquor store I want...coming here is no longer the thrill it used to be. Used to seem like it was the BEST prices in town on everything... now...maybe on some wider selections of wines...but liquor....ehhhh...not so much. They also don't have a wide range of smaller sizes, so you either get 1 Liter size, or a pint. Probably good if you're looking for an odd "skull bottle" or a gift for someone, but otherwise... seems to be fading with the times.
google avatar

Vanna V.

Yelp
Huge selection.. they have everything. Came here looking for specific liquors I couldn't find at any store by me. They had it!

Rohit P.

Yelp
I just bought a bottle of wine there and they wanted to see my ID. That is legitimate although not always necessary. But then the cashier scanned my driver's license. I have no idea what happens to this scan but it is an invasion of privacy. If you value your privacy, do NOT buy here!

Yelp
The distillery we wanted to visit was unexpectedly closed when we came to visit but we noticed that up the street was a liquor store so we decided to come in to see if they had the product we wanted to get. Luckily, they did! I was actually quite surprised at the sheer selection of items in this store. We have HUGE liquor emporiums in Vegas and I have shopped at liquor stores in NYC when I was younger so the variety in here was quite shocking. I will say that organization may be a bit wonky... An area marked RYE may not have the rye you are looking for but you turn around to WHISKEY and there it is. The pricing was pretty fair imo as well. I was actually expecting to pay more for the bottle I wanted at the distillery. Customer service was pretty top notch as well. We got asked if we needed help and the person ringing us up was nice and very helpful.

Philip A.

Yelp
Since new management moved in, every transaction requires not that they see state ID but that they register all of the details on the ID in their system. This is a huge invasion of privacy designed to collect information to which they have no right. It is an outrageous policy.

Yelp
Had to order drinks for 50 with a limited budget for a centenarian's birthday in December when they're super busy and I needed delivery at a specific time. Boy, was I sweating it. I called and was on hold for a long time, then asked to call back at a less busy time. But Denise at Warehouse came through on all counts! Delivery man arrived as promised and I was able to get two cases within budget. Will definitely return.

Mel B.

Yelp
I have been shopping here for decades. Today they asked for ID. I gave them my NYCID which they don't accept. Driver License or Passport neither of which I carry around on quick errands. They refused to allow purchase. Let me be clear - no one is ever going to mistake me for an under-50 ever again much less under 21. At some point, common sense has to prevail. But it didn't. They've lost a customer.

thomas O.

Yelp
This place is literally as it sounds, it's like the Walmart of NYC liquor stores. Like that it has a very large selection of wines and liquors displayed in their cardboard cases at bargain prices when compared to other liquor stores in the City. If you're buying in bulk or just picking up a few items you won't find better pricing!

Art G.

Yelp
Stupid service when an 82 year old s denied service for not carrrying a passport or a drivers license WHAT THE HELL IS MY NYC ID FOR?!!8

Yamila M.

Yelp
Amazing spot to shop when I'm in town! Team is great and they have a HUGE assortment.

Alan G.

Yelp
A diversified selection of wines and attentive service. There was a mistake made in their delivery to me but they made good and did the right thing.

Steve W.

Yelp
I have been buying here for over 20 years, in which I lost most of my hair and what was left has grayed, including my beard, since I'm now in my 60's. Though I hadn't been in a while I was just carded. I didn't have my ID so I couldn't complete my purchase. They even carded the guy in front of me who must have been at least 80 and he, too, was a longtime customer. Something must've gone down there because they have posted a sign that everyone is now carded. This is not uncommon beyond Jersey going south or west, but this is first for me anywhere in NYC. I don't blame the clerk as he was only doing his job, but common sense no longer applies here. So long, Warehouse.

Yelp
I thought my original review was good. But, for the first time in some years, I visited Warehouse Wines. Today they no longer even have the selection they once did. The big island of odd-lot liquor is gone, replaced with vodka-seltzer cans and beer. What once was true, now no longer is -really, at all. I once enjoyed buying spirits and wine at Warehouse. UI went there regularly for more than twenty years. Walking into Warehouse was an experience unlike any other liquor store. Virtually every price was lower than any other good liquor store -even a good one. But as much as the great bargains were a draw, they were combined with an odd-lot inventory that changed over and brought ever-new high tier and unusual offerings. It was like Easter egg hunting for booze! Now I've discovered that I can find better prices on sale liquor at my local on the Upper East Side: right now they are selling Maker's Mark bourbon 1.75L for $54.99 -better than the last sale price at Warehouse that I saw. And this is true of most of most of what I drink. Some time ago, I went and wrote this: I went back there again today, for what must be much more than my hundredth-plus time. No luck. I mean it: Zilch. Well, OK, I found one bottle of Tangueray's 'Old Tom' gin for $19.95. Ever heard the phrase 'the exception that proves the rule' ? **   Well the new rule is: Warehouse is just like everywhere else. I suspect the Costcos and other giant stores with cheap liquors that have invaded the greater NYC area have just eaten into Warehouse's market.  And it seems the store was sold recently to new owners with different purposes. Their prices are now online -so compare with other stores locally (you can use "wine searcher" for liquor, too), and you will se they are higher than many others in NYC. In the past I would recommend this place to real connoisseurs of liquor and wine, and to top bartenders seeking out their own supply, or even as a traveling bar when called in for catered events (try finding creme de violette for Aviations!). I recall when one English bartender I knew found a bottle of high-tier Mackay's scotch whisky, and couldn't believe it. Then later he found a bottle of 'Something Special' -which was a vatted malt scotch whisky only made on occasion from special parcels of scotch. He just bought me back drink after drink for recommending the place. I once found a case of Signatory Mortlach for $20 a bottle (well, I mean I felt compelled to buy a full case.)  They were the last liquor store in the city to have the old Eagle Rare short bottle of bourbon at 101 proof -the good stuff. And both a friend and I enjoy good port -especially tawny ports. Warehouse had always had a great odd-lot selection of 10 and 20 year old tawnys at half the price of other liquor stores. Now you cannot even find a selection of 10 year old twany's (while there, they had one, Warre's Otima.) No Australian port. There were always some shortcomings at Warehouse; and most of it was wine. It's a big store with all kinds of offerings. The selection of wine was indiscriminate -much of it sheer 'plonk' as the British say. And you could not (and should not then or now) rely on the staff. Most are lucky to know the difference between shiraz and syrah, or why wine called 'chardonnay' in France is likely to be inferior. Also, I think they are told what to 'sell' for turnover -but I can't prove that.  Still, the point is that the wine varies so much -if only for the number of bad years- that 'caveat emptor' was never truer in the Forum. Again, though, back in the day if you went in with time on your hands, and a decent knowledge of wine, you could walk out with excellent bottles at half the price found in another store. That has not been true for some time at Warehouse: you get what you pay for, and they count the pennies. Blame Winesearcher. I don't know... it's a shame and not much fun. With all that said, however, it is still one of the better liquor stores in the entire city. You won't Save an arm there; or find many interesting 'treasures.' But you can restock your bar from the biggest selection around. They have more rums, gins, tequilas than most stores.  And, like most, they deliver free if you buy over a certain amount. * BTW that expression does not mean what modern users usually think: 'prove' has an older meaning of 'test' -so the origin of the expression meant that an exception tested a (proposed) rule... and it failed. So, originally, the expression meant the opposite of how we use it to

Yelp
I love warehouse wines. Probably one of my favorite stores for wine and hard alcohol in the city. Incredible selection, unbeatable prices, and friendly and helpful staff. There are always a bizarre number of employees working - like the other day I was one of a small handful of customers in the store and the employees outnumbered us 3 to 1. They also play some bizarre music. But ultimately there is no better selection of wine for the price. I think it's organized *pretty* well but I still have trouble finding what I'm looking for when it's something specific and I usually need to ask for help. It's a better store for browsing and trying something new in my opinion. I was in there the other day looking for 19 crimes (I know I'm not fancy) and had to ask someone where it was. More than anything it's a testament to how big the store is though. Anyway great prices and great wine. A little utilitarian but it's on par with Trader Joe's wine in terms of prices and better in terms of selection.

Joe K.

Yelp
I shopped here regularly for years. Recently they instituted a policy of scanning your state issued ID for every purchase. I am 68 years old and look it. I don't need them tracking my every purchase. I shop at Astor now.

Craig C.

Yelp
WW&S, is now my go to spot, I walk out of my way from the WV to shop here, it is a positive/happy shopping experience, very rare in NYC!! They incredibly knowledgeable with all wines, they are very accommodating with the price point your budget allows, generous with spending as much time with you as necessary. I am confident every time I go in that they will give me the best recommendations! the staff could not be more friendly, and smiling!!!

Louis H.

Yelp
Times change. Just went in to Warehouse (May 2023), there was no staff to assist, the place was dead. Seems it was sold sometime last year to something called Go Puff or Puff Daddy or something like that, all the helpful people who formerly worked there are gone (and not replaced), prices are no longer any better than at Astor. No reason to return.

Miao C.

Yelp
Extremely bad experience. They trick people with wrong label only different by one word, which has a much lower price. I always read the price label, but still get tricked. And they BLAME YOU! Yes!!!!!! that what they do!!! They BLAME you not reading it carefully enough! Do not buy from this store! I said that they should correct the label and they get sooooooo angry and would NOT even let me go home unless I admit that it is my fault that I did not read the label carefully.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
I was recently reminded of the Warehouse and went to visit them. As a Reisling fan, they don't have many choices, but their spirits collection is great! So many choices all in one location. In these COVID times, they are limiting the number of people in the store and have indicators in the aisle for one-way traffic.

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Great selection ......large store Reasonable prices Opens early ......convenient location Will return

Paula L.

Yelp
There are two salespersons who are excellent. The manager this evening May 9 was very obnoxious. A stock person left a box on the floor of the aisle next to the section where they sell half bottles. I walked closer to the display in order to see the items in the back row. I tripped on the box and voiced my displeasure. The manager told me it was my fault. Who expects random boxes to be in an aisle? Who expects the manager to yell at a customer? The lack of respect for customers has me motivated to walk to Astor. It is always neat and clean. You're rolling now - got any more to add? Post Review

Yelp
Warehouse is, on average, the best bang for your buck. It's a not-so-hidden gem for your local alcoholic. I've gotten into whiskey pretty recently, and have been doing tasting of different types. From a lot of the different shops I've been to, I've worked out that most spirits in this place is 10% (give or take) less expensive than most other liquor stores. For example, they sell Templeton here for 33, where it's 36 at any of the other liquors stores I've seen in the city. The liquor/spirit selection here is pretty good, too. They do have a wine selection, but it's no where near as good as the one at Astor's (esp for those amazing organic/bio wines). I drop by whenever I'm in the area, and also if I want to get a ton of stuff for a big party. I'd recommend you do the same, too :)
google avatar

Rixie F.

Yelp
This store is it!!! You won't find anything else in the area like this, reasonable prices and the staff is very helpful. I was visiting from LA and this place had everything I needed to make my birthday celebration even better and get it poppin! I wanted to buy the whole store!

Anthony C.

Yelp
Great store, great prices but man does it need renovations. Place would be amazing if it was brand new and clean
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite stores in Manhattan-- you can't beat their prices or selection. Have been shopping at this place for years and lugging the bottles back uptown. I recently learned that they now deliver to the Upper West side for a $10 feee, which is definitely, 100% worth it.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
They're open & doing business during the pandemic as safely & efficiently as possible. Major props and MAJOR gratitude to them. They say they can usually fulfill phone orders within 2 hours, online orders within 3. Via online, I lucked out with being able to pick up within 1 hour and go grocery shopping in the meantime. Def a lot of people figuring out the ordering curve outside the store, and people waiting for their pickup orders. Tremendous thanks again for your hard work. Stay well, stay healthy.

Yelp
I was looking around for a place to order a couple of cases of wine from for a gallery event in SoHo. It is so much easier to do stuff like this in New York because everyone delivers. Yes! I remembered Warehouse Wines from spotting it a couple of times when going to the Public Theater very nearby, and thinking I should check it out sometime. Well, I still haven't been in there, but shopped around on their website, had a couple questions, called for advice and got a SUPER helpful person, completed my transaction on the website, easy peasy. I will definitely order from them again...exceptional value (came to $260 for 2 cases of wine, including tax, delivery, etc) Thanks Warehouse Wine & Spirits!
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Warehouse is a super cool choice when you're in the area, because the store has a huge selection of wines in particular, and offers alcohol at a huge price range. The thing they really specialize in here is wine: the store is primarily laid out by dividing the various wines by country, region, type, etc. So for example, if you really like Californian wines, you'll be able to easily find what you're looking for. For bargain hunters, they put a bunch of clearance wines right at the front of the store when you walk in, so you don't have to work too hard to find wines to get you drunk. As for other items... well they have all your typical kinds of spirits, including vodka, whiskey, rum etc etc. All of them are offered at pretty good prices. I haven't seen a store yet in manhattan that can compete with this place in terms of pricing. In addition, they go the extra mile here and also lay things out by price, so if you're looking to do some shopping in a specific price range, life is made quite easy for you. I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Cheap booze on a moment's notice and in abundant quantity? Sign me up. Great for all occasions, Warehouse Wine & Spirits offers a wide variety of liquor and wine at prices friendly for all budgets. You don't even need to be a nearby NYU student to appreciate what this place offers that many other liquor joints don't. The rising cost of living / working / being in Manhattan means there should be more places like this. Warehouse reminds me a bit of BevMo, except without being a chain and the no nonsense interior means there is less focus on the ambiance and more on the booze (as it should be!). This is a local store through and through. The associates in the store are nice and won't judge you if you're on the search for two buck chuck or dollar wine. They're also super efficient - if you explain the kind of evening / drink taste you're searching for, they're more than helpful in helping you locate the perfect bottle.

Yelp
I'd like to be able to recommend more of the small wine & liquor stores in NYC, but the prices can often be crazy. There is also very limited selection at a lot of the small stores in the city -- for example, not being able to find a 1.75L bottle of a common brand, and having to buy two smaller bottles if you want to stock up. By contrast, Warehouse has the best prices and selection, and the staff has been friendly every time. I've gotten the common stuff here, but I've also seen some nice unusual items that might be harder to find at smaller places -- such as Luxardo, ESP Smoked Gin, and Creme de Violette. I am happy to travel a little further to get a good deal at Warehouse.

Yelp
安ーい、種類あるー、レイチドおじさん詳しいね。 I dont have any wine skill. But i can ask someone in this store Because old guy knows What should i buy it. Then i can get some wine perfectly! Thank you so much Rachid!

Yelp
I frequent this business, while they have a good selection and prices, they are def. not known for they're customer service. Although I have had my fair share of bad experiences here, today was notable. After spending $100+ on two bottles of whisky, I asked for a extra bag because I had a far walk - the cashier (elderly male, dark skin, salt pepper hair) angrily telling me that I should bring my own bag and that he'd need to charge me for the bag. After some back and forth regarding paying 10¢ for a bag after spending over $100, he was generous enough to basically throw one at me but continued mumble his displeasure underneath his breathe until I had walked out the door.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure that I can say nothing about this place that has not been already said. Awesome, awesome, AWESOME for the local guzzler and for your wallet, too. Not only do they have the best prices, they have drinks from different countries/regions where u just cannot get for reasonable prices locally. Highly highly recommmenddddddeifwwoehroiwhewoirhwoerh

Yelp
This is an excellent liquor and wine store. Excellent location, very wide variety of products and prices so low, you'd thing you were in Jersey. They have lots of wines and liquor gift sets. I appreciate that when I need to get gifts for people I don't really know. Everyone likes alcohol! Pro tip: this have free bags and ribbon for bottles of wine. Just ask.

Yelp
I would rate the warehouse a 6 if I could!!!!! I've been looking for the Grey Goose VX for months. Found it here for $64. I've purchased the brand in New Orleans, Louisiana for the same price but paid double $120 in Georgetown, Washington DC.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Excellent liquor store with awesome selection and great prices, even for NYC! I went out of my way to go here. It's worth it.
google avatar

Edmond C.

Yelp
This place has a wide selection at good prices. The people who work here also have a lot of product knowledge and can give good insight for the customer. However, my big beef is that there is no reward for being a steady customer over the years. Being a regular foot soldier customer matters not, especially during the Fall, when special collections and limited editions come out. One might as well just be sent to the website, which is not how this business thrives over the years, day in and day out. So despite being a regular customer, there is no relationship established to obtain the limited Fall releases at a reasonable or fair price. This cold treatment brings the rating down considerably and all customers need to take heed.
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
I like this store. Great selection of everything. So many things if you are looking for something different or special. The wine selection is stunning. Everything is categorized by country of origin and type.Every kind of wine in every price range. Huge selection of tequila and vodka. And the prices are good. Especially in Manhattan where there are so many stores with inflated prices. Every time i buy something i find out i saved a dollar or 2 comparing to even Brooklyn. Well whats not to like.

Yelp
This is HANDS DOWN the BEST liquor store in NYC. If having you a party, a pregame or just your average wine and spirits connoisseur, please come here! You won't regret it not one bit. Prices are out of this world cheap compared to all other NYC liquor stores, the selection is so vast that you can try something new each time, the sales folks are highly knowledge about their wines and liquors, and they have alcohol sales like more discount on top of discount. LOL I swear you must visit this place, be careful though, you gonna end up leaving with more than you expected. Prosecco, Tequila, vodka, rum are priced really well here. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
This place rejected my real ID as a fake. They had to consult 3 guys who were oBvIOUSly ID experts before finally coming to the wrong conclusion. One of them were also super rude when I tried to explain it wasn't fake. Total bullshit. Update in response to their response: I would have totally understood if you explained that I needed a US ID. But it was the fact that they tried to tell me that my ID was fake and was incredibly patronising in the process. Also, only truck drivers have IDs with green backgrounds and mine did have a red background. Even if I were to get a fake ID, don't you think I would have gotten an US one, instead of an obscure Caribbean one?
