Where to Find Indonesian Food in NYC

"This walk-down Hell’s Kitchen space painted an eye-searing shade of yellow is a real Indonesian warung — an urban snack shop, in this case, selling dishes whipped up on the spot from ramen-style dried noodles with a catalog of toppings. Coffee- and tea-based beverages are also available, as well as snacks featuring tofu and tempeh, fritters, and popcorn chicken. A jovial place!" - Robert Sietsema

Cute Indonesian ramen joint. Price is affordable and the staff was super nice. They also have yummy appetizers and desserts. My faves are the creamy cheesy corn, toast with chocolate sprinkles and cheese and the grilled banana. We got two types of noodles, fried and soup, equally delicious! They sell coffee and typical Indonesian iced drinks. Will go back again!

A chic Indonesian warkop joint. Great scrumptious comfort Indonesian meals with wide selections of Indomie toppings and Indonesian typical beverages! The champs were the corn fritter and fried banana with melted cheess and chocolate for dessert. Super friendly staff and quick service - like the authentic warkop in Indonesia, you can just like have a chit chat for hours here not only with your buddies, but new strangers. Keep up the good work :)

Tasty Indomie goreng, the famous Indonesian dry instant noodles, with various topping. We had it with sunny side up and corned beef. Nice cold Teh Botol, another famous Indonesian bottled tea brand. Worth visiting when you’re in the area. I hope they use halal meat/corned beef.

Cute place for nostalgia. We ordered fried noodle with corned beef, grilled toast, corn fritter, aren latte & soda gembira. I love the fried noodle but i was just okay nothing special. However, I love their corn fritter & aren latte.

We had the aren latte, kopi susu, indomie goreng, and indomie goreng bbq. All were delicious! The aren latte was a creamier coffee than the kopi susu, likely because of the coconut palm sugar used in the aren latte instead of the kopi susu. The indomie goreng bbq was slightly more flavorful than the non-bbq—I think there were some spices added to it. But there won’t be any bbq sauce or anything like that. We didn’t like the sausages we ordered with the indomie goreng, but the popcorn chicken and the fried eggs were great toppings. The food came out fast (maybe in 10mins), and the staff was friendly. The food is a bit heavy, so it’s not quite morning food. That might be why it was quiet in the morning. Later in the day, I walked by and saw it pretty busy though.

If you're Indonesian, this is a great place to find something familiar and close to home. If you're not Indonesian and haven't tried Indomie, prepare to get your mind blown!!! They make their Indomie similarly close to what you'll find in a traditional Indonesian warkop. I had the single soup Indomie with egg and cheese ($7), double fried Indomie with egg and corned beef ($12), and fried tofu ($7). Price was really pocket friendly for an NYC joint. I have never met more friendly & bubbly owners, they love chatting with customers so don't be afraid to start up a convo! Also, they won't judge you if you order a quadruple Indomie. Came for the food, stayed for the people.

Cheap eats with comfort. Jazzed up indomie noodles (instant noodles) with snacks and a good drink selection. Don't think there's a bathroom but there is a phone charging station if you have the recharge app, and shelves of goodies to buy and take home (got a sambal and sweet soy sauce for myself).

If you like Indonesian noodle, and happen to be in NYC, this is a good place to serve your taste. We visit on May 2022 and ate our fave noodle. Indomie goreng and kuah. The owner, staff and service is friendly and makes us feel like at home, at a warung ... Good luck Warkop NYC, hope we can visit you again on our next visit ...
