Returning to Warorot Market after 15 years, I was so glad to see it hasn't lost any of its charm. It’s easily the soul of Chiang Mai; vibrant, clean, and just a fantastic place to wander and soak in the local atmosphere without it feeling like a tourist trap. The layout is great for a long stroll. You’ve got all the dried fruit and local snacks on the ground floor, and as you head up, it transitions into endless rows of textiles and clothing. We even found a decent food court on the second floor, which is perfect for a quick break. Don’t miss the connecting building either; there’s so much more to explore once you cross over. The wifey absolutely loved it and is already wanting to come back again in a couple of days. It’s a must-visit if you want a real taste of the city.

I tried the mango and sticky rice, right behind Yenjai Coffee, the Thai iced tea and coffee at Yenjai Coffee and also the chicken rice from the chicken rice stall perpendicular to the row where Yenjai is. All were delicious! The mango and sticky rice in particular was so well balanced. The mango was ripened just nice, with a bit of firmness but also very sweet, tempered by the savoury taste of the coconut milk on rice that was cooked just right. Not easy to achieve all these elements. The Thai iced coffee and tea were good, the coffee in particular. Fragrant with the right balance between bitter and sweet and thick enough to give that caffeine fix. Nothing like traditional coffee! The chicken rice was super good value,no doubt, but it taste really good too. The chilli sauce was a nice accent to the chicken. Was glad we wandered in and came upstairs, despite the market downstairs which I thought lacked character.

Warorot Market is absolutely amazing—huge, lively, and packed with endless options. You can easily spend hours here exploring row after row of food stalls, fresh produce, dried goods, snacks, spices, and local specialties, all at very affordable prices. It feels like the heart of Chiang Mai, buzzing with locals and visitors alike. Beyond the food, the market has tons of clothing, fabrics, souvenirs, and everyday items, making it a one-stop spot for shopping. The variety is incredible, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is authentic and energetic. If you want to experience real local culture while eating well and shopping cheap, Warorot Market is a must-visit in Chiang Mai.

This is a classic and very traditional local market. It's the kind of place where you truly find everything. It's a large, multi-story market: the ground floor is focused on food, with lots of fresh fruit, dried goods, spices, and local foods. It's also a great place to buy traditional dried mangoes, usually at a better price than in tourist shops. On the upper floors, the variety continues with clothes, fabrics, and household items. It's a busy, sometimes chaotic place, but great for seeing local life. Almost everything is sold for cash only, so it's good to go prepared.

Surprisingly cool place. I’d read many negative reviews saying tourists get ripped off, but my husband and I didn’t get that impression at all. We bought chopsticks, a bamboo mat, slippers, tea, and some handmade pandan coconut candy. We also asked around to check whether other vendors charged more for unmarked items, but the prices were the same. There’s a food court as well, with all prices clearly set. There are also shops around the market where you can get handmade wooden items much cheaper than in other places.

You can find everything you want in this huge indoor markets from souvenir to fruits, vegetables, household wares and clothings. Even the perimeters of the markets have F&B, streets of clothings and jewellery shops. Easily 2 to 4 hours activities there.

I went there mainly for fabrics but I found more than what I was there for. It was during Chinese new year celebrations so the scenes could be different from normal daily routines. There are fabric stores, sewing supplies, ready-made clothes, snacks, food, dry food, dry fruits, small wooden products such as trays, bowls mugs spoons and utensils, basic household ceramics, enamelware and so on.
