In-Depth Review of the Warren Street Hotel in New York City - AFAR

"The hotel’s single restaurant shifts from a cozy breakfast nook to an atmospheric evening bar and dining room, featuring a glass-divided orangery with backlit ceramic pots and a globally influenced menu with British inflections. Standout dishes mentioned include expertly prepared fish—grilled halibut with morels in beurre blanc and a crispy-yet-tender Ora King salmon—and a refreshing guava sorbet with coconut crumble and passion fruit coulis; food is served on Tall Trees bone china created for Spode. The dining room is convivial and unhurried, and the all-day space is also used for informal afternoon meetups over ginger tea made with freshly chopped ginger." - Jennifer Flowers

"Set in a Kit Kemp–designed dining room with a sun-drenched orangerie, the Warren Street Hotel Bar & Restaurant carries on New York’s great hotel-restaurant tradition with refreshingly classic, attentive service and elevated takes on classic American, British, and French fare. The menu pairs a traditional wine selection with STELLAR cocktails, and almost the entire menu is available for room service to your room or the newly opened rooftop terrace. Don’t miss their British afternoon tea—tea sandwiches (including perfect coronation chicken), petite pastries, and scones with clotted cream & jam—that feel absolutely to die for." - Coolstuff Team

Absolutely gorgeous, detail-oriented, colorful, and vibrantly modern design with an extraordinary eye for the tiniest, charming details. I stayed in NYC for three nights, and each morning, I had breakfast at Firmdale Hotels—the Warren Street, the Crosby, and the Whitby. I am at a loss for words to describe the breathtaking, soul-stirring designs and the exquisite, elegant tea sets. The out-of-this-world, warm, and genuinely attentive service, paired with delicious, thoughtfully curated food options, made each visit unforgettable. It is an absolute must-try. All three properties are divine, with nothing repetitive or stale—each that radiates its own unique, captivating soul. These are dreamy, inspiring breakfast sanctuaries where I left feeling uplifted, motivated, and deeply inspired. Deep inside, I felt a renewed optimism for a kind, peaceful world and a lingering, cheerful hope for the future. Grateful!

Absolutely marvelous! The interior design of this place was well thought through - quirky yet elegant, campy posh. They were only serving brunch when we came at 3:30pm but I really wanted the tuna tartare and they delightfully accommodated my request. And it was delicious!! Fish was fresh and firm that blended with softness of the avocado base. It had just enough acid and spice too. The rice crackers served as a great vessel for every mouthful. And don’t me get started on the toffee pudding! Not too sweet but still decadent. My friend had the chocolate eclair and he loved it. Cocktails were really good too. I had the Slice of Paradise which was refreshingly citrusy. Service was smooth with very attentive staff. Everything was just excellent. We’ll be back for afternoon tea and Sunday roast!

Such a cute and colorful space - with ample room! Warehouse space with a cozy feel. Sliders and guac were fantastic and I had an excellent french press coffee. Highly recommend it!! Service was attentive but not overbearing. Give it a try!

Very cozy and impressive decor. Very well-trained and polite waitstaff. To celebrate Valentine's Day, we went there with a reservation for afternoon tea. A great suggestion for this special occasion. I ordered lemongrass tea and this tower of appetizers. It serves two people well. I loved it. Fair prices. I recommend it. 🧡

I went to eat brunch here with my friends and it was wonderful service, great food and beautiful ambience (plates were so pretty) This restaurant supports my son’s school PS150 during Taste of Tribeca and I’m happy to have dined there! Going back soon 💕

Google
Jen at the bar was incredible. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the drink menu and she recommended a "garden of eden" cocktail that she created that tastes like a magic potion. We ordered apps and sides and everything was incredible, especially the baba ganoush and the mac and cheese. We finished off with an amaretto sour that was made with love and it was so good. Thank you Jen! You made our night. We'll definitely be back.

Google
This review is specifically for the bar. They make the most amazing cocktails (most notably their fantastic espresso martini) and everyone is so incredibly kind. Also recommend trying their Sunday roast- it’s delicious!

Google
We were trying to find a brunch spot and came to this. Food was absolutely delicious, alittle on the pricy side but worth it. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they did not have the chocolate chip but were able to accommodate us. Our server Aerilynn was wonderful and pleasant, she gave us a tour of the hotel which we weren’t expecting. Seeing the hotel and the art and her explaining the history behind it, we definitely plan on coming back and staying as guests.

Yelp
Beautiful cocktail bar. Drinks were well crafted. Our bartender, Spencer, was wonderful. We will be back.

Yelp
Had dinner here recently and I'll start by saying the space is stunning. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the china is beautiful, and the live music was absolutely incredible -- truly the highlight of the night. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. While the staff was friendly, they weren't very helpful in guiding us through the menu, and several of the dishes we wanted were unavailable, which was disappointing. I ended up ordering the chicken -- it was good, but nothing memorable. Overall, it wasn't the best dining experience. I'd definitely consider coming back for the music and drinks, but probably not for the food.

Yelp
The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and my waiter was super nice! He explained everything really well and was very attentive during my meal. Could not have asked for a better environment or interaction. However, the quality of the afternoon tea wasn't my favorite. The sandwiches had very thin layers of the filling which left more to be desired. The gingerbread cookie was the star of the whole meal, it was really well baked and flavorful! I think the food as a bit of improving to do but the service and ambiance was 10/10

Yelp
Nice cute and intimate spot, not far away from the subway station. Came here to catch up with friends for an afternoon tea however after seeing the menu, we changed our minds and went for the a la carte menu as there weren't many vegetarian options. I ordered the cacio e peppe - it was nice but it came out gloopy and dry. My friends loved the chai tea but I didn't try it. Service was great, our waiter was very accommodating and friendly.

Yelp
I recently visited Warren Street Bar & Restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. Unfortunately the experience was underwhelming at best. We had reservations and upon arrival, there was a line to get into the restaurant and a host was no where to be found. We waited about five minutes without being acknowledged before walking over to the bar to see if someone could help seat the people waiting. It was so unorganized that another couple just left. Not a great start even though the restaurant was not very busy. We were seated and ordered a round of cocktails to start and the tricolor salad and the grilled octopus. The portions were very small relative to the price. The octopus was cooked well and the best part of the meal. Our group of 4 had the burger, duck, chicken, and swordfish entrees and decided to share the Mac n cheese, seasonal green salad and spinach sides. The consistent theme across our group was that the food was just okay. My swordfish was bland and overcooked. Even the burger was disappointing. The sides were also small and barely shareable. The salad was the largest side but it tasted like a bagged salad kit. There were no adds that gave it a seasonal taste. Between the food and the service, I will not be returning here as there are definitely better options elsewhere.

Yelp
This afternoon tea was okay. Far from the best or worst. The price ($75pp) is extremely reasonable for what you get--similar experiences in a more northern Manhattan locale will double the cost immediately. The decor is wonderfully weird, warm, and eclectic . The teaware is kitschy and the tea itself fairly good, though you won't find any adventurous signature blends on the menu. Things get a bit rocky once the tower gets involved. The sandwiches are, frankly, horrible. To regard them as dry and lifeless would be staggering praise. The scones were passable, perhaps approaching the general proximity of "good," but ours were absolutely burnt to a crisp. The sweets were definitely lovely to look at. Good visual variety and pleasing on the eyes. Although they were mostly well executed, they were incredibly oversweet. Half of them were slathered in a well of icing about an inch thick. Your teeth will tingle when you're through with all that. The service was hands-off but attentive, and everyone was pleasant. For the price it's all right. A nice date spot and instagrammable as all flipping heck. But you're not going here for the food, so don't expect much.

Yelp
Fun and whimsical hotel and restaurant with lots of curated art and design, yet food isn't great yet. The best thing was the fries, it was addictive! Pomme Pave was fine but Four Horseman does it right so this was disappointing. Burger was whatever with no flavor and McDonald presentation. Pork & Morel Terrine was very porky cannot tell if there's morel. Mac n Cheese tasted like Duane Reade store bought packet. Halibut was fishy to the max that was quite u pleasent. UHM... ...

Yelp
The ambiance is a winner. Whoever decorated deserves an award. Beautiful. We came for breakfast on a Saturday and it was perfectly quiet. We sat in the back room. The sun shines so beautifully from the roof. I had the bacon egg and cheese and it was yummy. I loved the tea, both the taste and presentation. Service was great. Everyone was so nice and attentive.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning spot, with outstanding food and great service! Came across this spot on Instagram and I can't say enough great things. It's a huge space - with both the restaurant and the private room in the back that has these beautiful sunroof windows allowing lots of light inside. The restaurant almost looks like something out of a story bookAll three of us were wow'd. We ordered a few starters from their happy hour menu, everything was spectacular (highly recommend the zucchini blossoms and the deviled eggs (delightful!)

Yelp
The decor and ambience is really nice. Very on brand with Whitby hotels. I was there for lunch because a friend of mine was staying there. We ordered the tuna tartare and the burrata salad. Tuna tartare had no flavor and it was just large chunks of tuna- more like poke. Burrata salad was really fresh and good. The service there is a little off. We had multiple people checking on us but it was almost overkill. One person would come by to ask if we were ok and then 2 minutes later someone else came by to ask if everything was good. I appreciate the over attentiveness but it was a bit unnecessary. The food was just mediocre compared to the prices. Wish the food was better since I live a block away!

Yelp
Brightly decorated, trendy restaurant in the Warren Street Hotel (which itself has a striking blue exterior). We started with the Foie Gras Terrine which was a little on the firm side but not bad. For the entrees we had the Long Island Duck which was solid and the Spaghetti Vongole which we thought was too salty but it was graciously redone. For dessert the Chocolate Mousse was nicely presented and terrific.

Yelp
Lovely space with whimsical decor. Great interior design for photos. Food (afternoon tea) was mediocre, at best. Finger sandwiches were gummy/dry and the desserts lacked flavor--they were just sweet. Scones were ok--the only aspect that made them good were that they were served warm. Servers were pleasant but inattentive.

Yelp
Service was good, and the interior was absolutely stunning. We (party of four) went for the afternoon tea ($75pp). Unfortunately, the only okay items on the tower were the scones. The tea was also good. It was very cute, but the sandwiches were soggy and tasted like they've been sitting in a fridge for more than a day, the desserts were also soggy and just really subpar for the price of the tea set. The scones were warm but so so dense and the clotted cream and jam were just alright as well. I did love the vibes of the place and just resorted to saying we paid for the experience, but I really believe that for the price point at LEAST the sandwiches ( cucumber/cream cheese, salmon cream cheese, and chicken) should've been made fresh. Servers were amazing and kind though!

Yelp
Afternoon tea experience: Very mixed feelings with my experience. The waiters were extremely nice, and the orangery was beautiful, but unfortunately was not up to par. They sat my party down in a table, with already laid out place setting for 3 people. So it was evident they were expected my party. Only 30 minutes in, I had realized that there was no table cloth. Very peculiar and that we were the only ones in the entire restaurant without one and a miniature plant. Yes it seems petty but if you are paying $75 per person for afternoon tea, before tip, ALL customers should be seated in the same manner. Additionally the scones were not up to par, they were burnt and my friend noted that one may have had too much baking soda. Additionally the teapots were small, much smaller than Whitby Hotel. This restaurant has so much potential, again the waiter was extremely nice but it needs to get its management in order. Maybe they need more staff and/or better organization. I am hesitant to go again, I much preferred the Whitby Hotel.

Yelp
Inside the new Warren Street Hotel, the Warren Street Bar & Restaurant is a great addition to Tribeca. Much like the Crosby Street Bar (both in Firmdale Hotels), it is great for a meal or cocktails or both. The food and service are excellent. Also it is a beautiful space with unique art.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the high-tea. The interior was so gorgeous & I loved the character and the aesthetics. the servers were also so kind and very attentive -- we were there on a thursday at 3pm so not many other patrons were in the vicinity. some things that could have made this a better experience is 1: to not use the thin-pour teapots for flower chamomile tea & instead to use a french press or a teapot where the spout filters just the liquid & not tea flowers. i was unable to pour the tea out & the waitress kindly got me some toothpicks to pick the tea leaves away to get a pour; most definitely not a high tea experience you'd expect. The tower of food they brought out was very nice -- favorite was the chicken curry sandwich. I wished the cucumber and the salmon had some seasoning (ie: some black pepper on the cucumber sandwich & some fresh dill on the salmon would have been nice additions for flavor).

Yelp
First time visiting, I sat at the bar and had an amazing evening. Warren Street is stunning, and I love the art deco style of the bar. The bartenders are fantastic and truly know how to craft a great cocktail. Thursday live jazz nights are definitely the highlight!

Yelp
We came to try this new spot in the neighborhood out and loved it! The staff was kind and attentive to my dietary restrictions, and the food was delicious. I got the pisco sour and diver scallops and loved both. Will be back to try other things on the menu. The interior is also beautifully decorated.

Yelp
The ambiance and service are 5 stars. The wait staff are very attentive and sweet. Unfortunately, the food simply doesn't live up to everything else, especially the prices. The pancakes were probably some of the worst I've had. Absolutely soaked in butter and flavorless (apart from the butter). I felt quite ill after eating them and only ate about 1/4. The eggs were fine but truly not worth the price. Coffee was good though. I really wanted to give more stars but the food really brings it down.

Kaila P.

Yelp
Had such a great time with my family for our afternoon tea visit! We had some delicious starters to share, with a bottle of Rudi Pichler carefully selected by the amazing staff for us. It was a great time in the space, as it's filled with tons of color and detail. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
I went to Warren Street for a late night dinner not expecting too much from a hotel restaurant, but I was very wrong! The ambiance is eclectic and perfect for the gallery ridden streets of tribeca, it felt like dining in a museum of cozy artwork. The food was incredible, there were many reimaginings of classic dishes, but I think the burger was by far my favorite of the night! The service was just as good as everything else, kind, friendly, and attentive! Whether you're a tribecca local, or from out of town, Warren Street is definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Everything was great at this place. Food, service, ambience. Friendly helpful staff and quick with the drink and food orders.

Yelp
$1 for ice.....please raise your price Johnny Walker $2 and not charge for the ice ....but the rumor is the ice surcharge is to fund the art within the hotel and restaurant

Yelp

Yelp
Lovely space with below average food. If you have a Burger on the menu it better be really good - not overdone. If you serve high quality fries they cant be over powered by salt - they are. Needs to work the kinks out before a return visit.
