Where to Enjoy a Glass of Chardonnay This Summer in Boston | Eater

"Not all harbor views are created equal, and this one is a standout. With a spacious, airy structure and an accompanying outdoor pavilion overlooking the two rivers, Warren’s Harborview is a breezy spot to sip chardonnay while watching boats float past Wareham’s verdant salt marshes. Don’t skip the lively brunch buffet on Sundays, which features carved-to-order prime rib, an ice sculpture adorned with shrimp cocktail, and a smorgasbord of pastries and desserts." - Molly McDonough

We came down on a Saturday afternoon by boat and got seated right away as a group of 5. Shannon was the best with great menu recommendations and a fun and energetic attitude. We had mussels and calamari and just about one of every drink on the menu (with Shannon’s perfect recommendations you can’t go wrong but we highly recommended and the waterfront rum runner and the sea urchin).

Awesome clam chowder! The Sesame Tuna Salad was also very good. The woodwork in this place is gorgeous. Service was great and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a look. It’s been open since January 2025.

We had a wonderful dinner at Warren’s Harbor View! Our server, Shannon, was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to make our evening special. We were dining with my young niece (under two years old), and Shannon treated her like a princess. Even though mac and cheese wasn’t on the menu, Shannon and the chef made some from scratch just for her—and she loved it! Made her night which made ours relaxing! The food overall was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The location right on the water is gorgeous, with beautiful views both inside and outside. The only drawback was that the live band playing indoors made the dining room a bit loud, given the high ceilings. Still, it didn’t overshadow how much we enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend Warren’s Harbor View for families—great food, wonderful atmosphere, and truly exceptional service.

Just an average place. Don't know if we would return or not. I had the prime rib and it was the most unusual prime rib I've ever had. It was sliced very thin and I like it rare and half of it was rare but that half was very very fatty and then the other half was very well done and I really don't like well done so did not eat that part at all and really had to cut around the fat on the rare part so didn't get much prime rib. The eggs benedict wasn't that great either. I'm not sure what type of protein was under the egg but it was fatty and the Egg itself was not well cooked, the white was a little too runny for my taste. The shrimp cocktail was good. There were seven of us and three of us ordered cocktails. The waitress didn't seem to know that much about the cocktail selection. When we asked her if the bartender could make certain types of drinks she didn't know but she came back a bit later and said yes he could, upon receiving our drinks it was clear that he could not. I got a bloody Mary and there was absolutely no alcohol in it. I could not taste any alcohol whatsoever. The other two drinks that we ordered did not taste anything like what they were supposed to taste like so obviously the bartender really didn't know how to make the drinks and besides that neither one of those drinks had any alcohol in them. The place does have a beautiful atmosphere and it was clean.

FOOD: 4/5- normal sized portions with great balanced flavor. Presentation could be a little better. SERVICE: 5/5 pleasant staff with a great attitude. ATMOSPHERE: great view with a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Ordered the stuffed haddock which was delicious with a balanced sauce. The potatoes were lacking in inspiration. My dinner partner ordered the seafood risotto which was delicious and smelled amazing. The sauce was a little bland but the seafood pulled it through. Expect tempered flavors that respect the seafood. Menu also contains steak and chicken options. Their appetizer options are lacking in inspiration and choice. If I had to rate them they would be a 5/10. Hope they read this and come up with more appy options.

Today was my first time here with my friend Deb, for her early birthday lunch. We had a delicious Fish sandwich with coleslaw on it. She had sweet potato fries and I had regular fries. Food was excellent. I then surprised Deb with Creme brulee for dessert. Kaylee was our waitress, she was fabulous. We also met the owner Danny. Very nice man. He gave us some history of the property. They serve Acushnet Creamery Ice Cream here. Good to know. I will definitely come here again.

Shaanon was a fabulous waitress! Drinks came quickly and the food was delicious. I had the best brownie ever from the dessert table. Highly recommend the brunch! I have also heard great things about dinner. I will be back!

My husband and I just tried this restaurant today and we absolutely loved it. The wooden design is phenomenal and it blew us away. We loved how open it was as well and the fact that it had outdoor seating, too. The few pieces of artwork that I saw were amazing. It could definitely use more! I really liked the mermaid and bird themes. My husband ordered Warren's Four Corners and I ordered Danny's Fish and Chips. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal and didn't leave any leftovers! My meal was hands down, the best fish and chip I've ever had. It was lightly cooked, not oozing in oil, and the fish was so fresh! Even the tartar sauce and coleslaw were delicious. When it comes to the food, I absolutely cannot wait until we can try it again! However, the service definitely needs work. When we first walked in, we could see open seating outside and the vast majority of the inside was empty, especially by the windows. We asked the server if we could sit outside and he stated it was all reserved. So my husband asked if we could sit by the windows inside, and he stated that they were also reserved. Well, we sat for over an hour and not a single person came to sit by the 6+ tables next to the windows. That was extremely disappointing. Our waitress also didn't walk up to us for about 15 minutes. We were starting to get confused because there seemed to be an abundance of staff running around and it wasn't busy at all. She was polite, but so rushed it almost seemed like she didn't want to be there and was purposely hiding in the back to keep away from customers. She also would be gone for long periods of time in between the usual server checkups, so we got worried when it came time to pay. It wouldn't be the first time we had to track down another server to pay our check because ours disappeared. We were also never given the basket of breads or chips everyone else had. I understand everyone has bad days, so I'm willing to give the service another chance. If we get two bad visits though... my five stars will shrink to one. Your experience might differ. It's worth a try here for the food itself.

Yelp
I had the most wonderful experience at a party attended by 24 people at Warren's yesterday. I came early to help decorate the private dining room (with waterviews) for the party. The staff couldn't have been more helpful to us, making sure the room was arranged just the way we wanted. Service throughout the party was phenomenal. For dinner everyone ordered off the menu. I had the Sesame Tuna Salad. Delicious! My husband and sister ordered the Baked Haddock, also delicious. Not sure what everyone else ordered but I heard lots of compliments about the food.Thank you Warren's Harborview for making yesterday such a special day!!

Yelp
Our quite large group (12 adults) had a wonderful lunch at Warren's Harborview midday Thursday. This being Apres Golf ; we were thirsty and very hungry! Our waiter Jamie was attentive, quick and charming to say the least! All drinks came out large and fast. The cocktail drink menu was an absolute pleasure and hit the mark. (However it would be nice to have seen "specials of the day " with a creative local flair at special pricing... I can highly recommend the mouth watering chicken tenders - I chose plain with delicious side sauces (I was brought three to try!) also raw bar oysters ice cold and mouth watering - delicious New England clam chowder will surely please and great sandwiches & more! The Haddock sandwich came with cheese and coleslaw on top...maybe a bit too over the top for a traditional New England seaside town. That said every dish was delicious and mostly generous portions ! Check it out the location is fabulous and the bar is a wonderful spot too! For indoor and outdoor as well you will love Mr. Warrens Harborside!

Yelp
Late evening party of 5 with reservations that they had problems finding. After seating it took a substantial amount of time for the waitstaff to arrive. Drink and appetizer orders placed but was informed that they wouldn't do split checks for our party - on a Toast system! Food was average - had better at local seafood shacks. Wine drink order was wrong. Waitstaff had to be reminded multiple times that they had forgotten parts of our orders. Definitely not a favorite and would be hard pressed to return.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and has a great water view. The bar makes a good mixed drink. Service was less than okay. William, our waiter, didn't write anything down and got the order wrong. Never came back to see if our meals were okay or if we wanted another drink. Meanwhile he was out in the deck chatting it up with a customer who must be a 'regular'. We were there in the afternoon with only a handful of patrons. The food was okay. The turkey roll up had almost zero cranberry mayo so it was dry it was put into a panini grill so it was even dryer. Then William came to the table to ask us to give him a 5 star review so he could win a contest that gives him better shift choices. Really William? You don't have a clue.

Yelp
Warren's has become our go to Friday night dinner spot. We have had great meals and service here each visit. We find seats at the bar usually and have met some great folks. Karen, Abby and Larry and the rest of the bar crew are excellent. My wife rates their Cosmos 10/10. I have tried several seafood dishes so far and the seared scallops over risotto is my fave. There are weekly specials for food and drinks. Can't wait to see what they do with the outdoor pavilion this summer. Looking forward to pulling up in the boat for drinks after a day on the water. I am told that Dan is obsessed with the reviews here, so Dan, please bring back the Lobster Crepe, it is one of the best things that I have ordered at any restaurant!! Congratulations to all on your success!!

Yelp
I really like this place. We have gone twice and both times the food was on point. The first time I got a salmon sales with peach and Gorgonzola. It was so delicious it has become my new favorite for the summer. The place is huge and the staff are friendly. Would def recommend

Yelp
Sat at good sized bar, bartenders were excellent. Good drinks, and attentive. For dinner had lobster tortellini topped with blackened shrimp and edamame. Was very good and fairly portioned. Oyster as an appetizer that were fresh and delicious. Special shout out to Lilly the hostess who was very sweet and friendly. My only complaint is is is very loud inside. It is a very large building and sound echos through pretty badly.

Susan K.

Yelp
The food at best was mediocre. The service is just horrific. I do not think it is the workers. They are untrained and have no clue what their responsibilities are. Don't know what to recommend or even how to carry drinks. Hostess had no clue how long of a wait and then seating us in the middle of the big banquet type room. This place needs an experienced restaurant manager or will not make it much longer.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Service is first class. All around great evening out. Trendy decor and nice views.

Yelp
We had a fabulous dinner. We ordered the general tso's chicken tenders and the French dip eggrolls. Both were delicious. We also had Cesar salads which were really good. For our main course we had the fish and chips, pasta, Warren's four corner's special and the miso salmon, all were fantastic. The strawberry shortcake shooters were delicious. The server was great. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went for late lunch with a party of 5. The place was almost empty when we arrived, but for some reason it took a very long time to bring drinks. We ordered several sandwiches as well as shrimp and mussels, all of which were average at best. One fish sandwich had a piece of cardboard in it (!!!), so the waitress took it back. We asked for utensils but the waitress forgot, so I stole several sets from a nearby table. They were real metal wrapped in a cloth napkin, whereas the one set she had given us were plastic wrapped in paper -- she took the metal silverware back when she noticed. Then, to add insult to injury, a band that was truly awful started playing very loudly at the outdoor bandstand. Before we left, the waitress did apologize for the lousy service and I do give her some credit for that, but all in all it was a bad experience.

A M.

Yelp
We had a very nice lunch experience at Warren's Harborview today. Entering the restaurant and looking at the beautiful architecture was only the beginning. We started with the fried calamari , which was obviously fresh, not chewy and accompanied by a nice marinara. We each ordered a salad, seared tuna, roasted pear and Warren's Cobb. There was an ample amount of tuna on the salad and the dressing was perfect. Roasted pears were sweet and also plentiful on the salad. the Cobb was equally as delicious. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. The pricing is reasonable and the service was good, as our waitress stopped back several times to check on our needs. Definitely a return trip for dinner. Can't wait.

Yelp
Really pretty building but lacks the homey feeling due to the open, empty space. Food was really good, but room temperature by the time we got it. No real veggie with the scallops either. Portions for all four meals were not abundant. The lobster linguine was good, but the lobster was chewy. Service was slow overall, but our waitress was pleasant. I asked another person at the front desk about my daughter's 18th birthday dessert to get the message to the waitress and surprise her, but the message never reached the waitress. Once I cued the waitress, she gathered other employees and they sang to her and gave her a torte with a candle. The desserts were delicious (if you're ok with cold crème brûlée). Ours was made by a pastry chef. The ice cream was good and it was only $3.

Yelp
To say that the service was terrible would absolutely be an understatement that I can't even justify. When I looked up restaurants in Wareham this place came up and their menu looked amazing so I decided to pop in. The restaurant is big and has a nice interior. The salmon I had was good. That is all I positively have to say about this place. From start to finish the bar staff made me feel unwelcome and like my presence was a burden. I have never dealt with this level of disdain for a complete stranger in my life. I came into the restaurant I was greeted by the hostesses I asked to sit at the bar they directed me to it. The bar was relatively empty about 5 patrons outside of myself. At the time I sat there were 2 bartenders and 2 wait staff at the service bar. I waited a couple minutes thinking I would get acknowledged eventually. Matt the bartender never acknowledged me until I called to him and asked to be served. He walked past me before that to the two women seated at the end of the bar to ask them if they needed anything. It wasn't until he was walking back and I literally called to him that I got a drink menu. I then had to ask for a dinner menu. From then on I was treated like I was invisible at the bar. I genuinely feel like I could have gotten up and walked out. They probably would've continued their whispers in between refusing to even engage with me. Like me asking for anything was a problem. I watched a regular named Larry come in and get served immediately. I also watched a party sit next to me and get plenty of attentive service. I wasn't even aware that the other guy at the bar was a bartender until the party came in. I got my food and not once was I asked about anything. When I got my appetizer I had no utensils and I asked for them once again feeling like I was a burden. I had the nerve and audacity to unfortunately ask for another drink and was once again met with disdain and a sense of me being a burden. After I got my second drink I asked for a box and my check. I used to be a server I know exactly how annoying people can be. Considering that the piss poor service started the moment I sat down I definitely believe there is a huge staff issue. As a new restaurant it's bold to have bartenders who blatantly show how much they don't want to serve patrons especially during a recession when people are still coming out to support restaurants. There are so many other places in wareham and surrounding areas that have amazing service that nothing about going here would be justified. I had taken a break from reviewing restaurants and this terrible experience brought me out of retirement and motivated me to uplift restaurants that at bare minimum just make you feel welcomed in their establishment. This restaurant is 100 percent not one of those places. Good luck to anyone not a regular or with any melanin on getting decent service in this place.

Brittany J.

Yelp
This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had. Our appetizer didn't come with the dipping sauce, and wait staff was so obsolete that if we waited for someone to come by to ask for it, it would have gone cold. Both unhappy with our meals. My partner got the delmonico steak, and it came smothered in gravy, which the menu didn't state. Service was terribly slow- not the fault of our waiter (who we gave a cash tip too before paying the bill), but c'mon- don't seat so many people if you don't have the staff to care for it. Long story short- we were looking forward to date night at a new place, but will never be back.

Notso H.

Yelp
Been 3 times now. 2 regular evenings and once for brunch. Will never go back to brunch. Poor service, empty or cold food in some cases. Felt at risk for getting sick, First evening was within a month of them opening and a little rough, 2 nd time was dead of winter. Parking lot was full we parked a block away. Place was nearly empty. I thought it might be cold, the big room on the water? It was comfortable. It was probably our best time there, had specials off the drink and food menu and things were ok. It is pricey for Wareham. I really wouldn't say you get what you pay for. It might be a once a year treat for us? Not a regular go to.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
So...first of all - I like this place. But for the love of God- get rid of the elevator organ music!!!! It's AWFUL!!! The blackened shrimp appetizer is phenomenal. They have great Chardonnay by the glass, which is a plus (la crema)... Fish and chips were just ok but they have the homemade chips which I love...so I guess I give it a 7 out of 10... Get rid of that shitty music!!!

Marie H.

Yelp
Amazing spot...but very average food and amateur service. it's too bad, cuz Wareham needs good places.

Christina A.

Yelp
Amazing meal and gorgeous views. Such kind staff who really care. Our food was delicious and came promptly. Easy parking. 10/10 recommend.

C S.

Yelp
UNLOCK the handicap entrance. Everytime I've been there, this door is locked and I can't get in. The other day, the manager couldn't even find the key to unlock it.

H F.

Yelp
First time enjoying dinner here. We went to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. Our server Shaannon was great and answered all our questions. We all enjoyed our meals, my pear salad was excellent , fish and chips perfect and the surf and turf was cooked great. Great espresso martini and we all enjoyed dessert, chocolate tort and raspberry sorbet! Look forward to sitting out on the deck soon.

Yelp
It looks even better in real life than in photos . High ceilings, probably a wall of 120 feet or so that's mostly windows, overlooking the river. There's nothing like this around, I don't think. It's a massive space that feels almost like a wooden ship inside. Windows way up top, too. I'd say the owner must have a very generous spirit, because it's grand and it's a gift to the community. Stuffed fish I had was really good, too.

Shannon C.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a whim as other places in the area were closed. Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful inside. Food did not disappoint. Great service!

Jan D.

Yelp
We decided to try Warren's Harborview for an early dinner. The first issue was encountering a steep set of stairs (or a wheelchair accessible 2 level ramp) for this restaurant which I didn't know was on the 2nd floor. I was shocked to find there was no elevator for handicapped people like myself, and was out of breath at the maitre d's station before I could talk to ask for a table. We ordered baked fish dinners - my husband's halibut & shrimp dinner was very good, but my baked stuffed haddock was not. It arrived slathered in lobster sauce that covered the entire plate, but the fish looked good. When I cut into the fish I realized it was a huge ball of stuffing with a very very thin slice of haddock wrapped around it. My vegetable sides were decent enough - but very unappealing sitting in all that lobster sauce. I was comped a dessert because, when asked, I told them of my dissatisfaction with the meal. The tiramisu was delicious - and our server Marita was lovely. I will give them some time to work out the kinks and try it again when an elevator is available (was told it's in the works), or if there's outside, lower level dining in warmer weather.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch was terrific' Great and varied selection of food. Breakfast includes and Omelet station, made to order, eggs benedict, pancakes. Moving on to lunch items, Prime rib freshly cut, stuffed sole, a shrimp tower. Muffins, pasties and other goodies. everything delicious. Great waterside tables. Will be back for Dinner! Kathy M

Dianne A.

Yelp
Food was cold portions small service awful. Very loud looks like a lunch room. Very disappointed. Tried 3 times never again.

Anndrea J.

Yelp
It was a mother's Day buffet. The service was terrible. We waited a good 15 minutes after being seated for our server to appear. We asked for a drinks menu. She brought us water. Then asked to take our drink order. She forgot the drinks menu. Finally Placed our drink order and went to the buffet table. No silverware at the table. Then had to go retrieve our own drinks from the bar. Had to ask for silverware. The food was great and plentiful. Desserts were just ok. Then the bill came. They charged us for 6 people instead of 4 @ $75 a person. Also Charged us for a drink that we never received. So overcharged us $160. The location is nice. Limited parking. Acoustics way too loud. Will not be rushing back. Staff need more training.

John B.

Yelp
This was our third visit to this new restaurant, a Sunday lunch buffet. The food selection was extensive including shrimp, prime rib, omelette, Spanish lasagna and chicken, with an awesome selection of fresh desserts. Everything was very tasty and the service staff attentive and friendly. We shall return.

Stephen S.

Yelp
My friend and I have been looking forward to visiting this establishment for a short time, so thought we would have lunch there during the Oyster Festival. Big mistake. I do not know when this restaurant opened but they are definitely not up to speed. I will say the chowder was very good. Entree was flavorless and we both left our meals mostly untouched. We both had fish that tasted metallic. Sides were cold. We were never questioned why we left our food. Our waitress was pleasant but not trained well. Service was never cleared from start to finish. For $95.00 for two for lunch I just expected a little bit more. Should have hit the food trucks.

Lynne V.

Yelp
Food was average to good but Because the restaurant is so big, by the time the food got to our table, it was lukewarm. My burger was delicious but potatoes were cold. That was the consensus of everyone I dined with... half their meals were warm and other half cold. Service: waitress was sweet yet did not take initiative to see that we needed 2set ups, condiments, more water,... we had to ask and wait for all of these things. Ambiance: it was a cold night but for a huge room, it was very comfortable and warm. The building is beautiful with its high ceilings and post and beam construction. I can only imagine the summer days here will be very inviting. So overall, there were a few inconsistencies but I will definitely give it another try.

Susan H.

Yelp
My friend and I went last night for dinner. I have been a number of times prior. Beautiful place and needed in Wareham. I have enjoyed their Sunday brunch very much whichincludes prime rib and is excellent. Last night we both had steaks. The delmonico and filet were excellent! Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Larry the bartender was pleasant and very helpful. He is very welcoming and on top of things. Looking forward to the new menu which rolls out on Monday, April 28th and sitting outside in nicer weather. Great addition to Wareham! Thanks Larry for a fun visit.

Mark D.

Yelp
We visited Warren's Harborview on Mother's Day and can't recall ever having a worse dining experience. We had their Sunday brunch several weeks ago and found it satisfactory and the $35/person price was fair. The buffet on Sunday was advertised as 10-3 and we wanted to try something off of their menu and assumed that was possible dining at 5 PM. We were seated near the musical talent and not sure if it was the acoustics or the speaker volume but we were unable to hold any sort of conversation. We ordered drinks and 15 minutes later our server returned to say they were out of coconut and could not fill our order. We re-ordered another drink and 10 minutes later they arrived. We asked for a menu and were informed the buffet was our only option for dining. It was obvious that much of this food was not fresh and many of the dishes were gone completely. Other than the prime rib I would rate the rest of the food subpar. The desserts however were excellent but when the bill came the price was $75/person for the same buffet they serve on any other Sunday for $35/person. Furthermore, the drinks they could not fill were still included on our check. I guess the strategy was to take advantage of families on Mother's Day and up the price by $40/person. When we asked reception on the way out why the huge price increase they said it was because of the lobster tails. This was not offered or mentioned by our server as as option. This place is beautiful on the inside and has great potential but between the lack of experienced servers, acoustical issues and price gouging we will not be back.

Lindsey F.

Yelp
great experience. Drinks were delish, food was good. Ashlyn was very polite and helpful!

Nina B.

Yelp
Been waiting for this place to open. They were massively overwhelmed on Saturday night. Waitress was lovely, but food took forever and came out wrong anyway. My salad arrived with my partners prime rib. Except he ordered the Delmonico. Back to the kitchen and half hour later his entree arrived. Blackened salmon was tasty, his steak was thin. Room is noisy. They need some sound dampening. It is cavernous. Perhaps we will visit again when the outside is open.

Brandon W.

Yelp
Sunday brunch buffet was very good. Very friendly staff and all the food was great. Looking forward to going and getting the regular menu in the near future. Very nice views of the water. Highly recommend!

Sue A.

Yelp
Our reservation was on Saturday evening. Restaurant was busy. Quite some time passed before someone approached our table. Yes, a new restaurant and I'm sure kinks are being worked out. But food was just ok. Nothing special. The wait to get our food however was 2.5 hours. Not server's fault (& she was lovely) as she apologized profusely and did tell us initially that kitchen was backed up. But it was a long long wait. Not sure I'd return.

Carl

Yelp
This is a brand new restaurant. They offer a buffet on Sundays for thirty five dollars. There is an omelet station, a roast beef station and servers serving You bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict . potatoes and several other items. There is a large display of shrimp right, as you enter the dining room. Coffee and alcoholic drinks are available for an additional cost. There is an assortment of desserts including some gluten free. Perhaps because this is a brand new restaurant. They are not quite up to snuff yet. The omelette station was a little slow but relatively tasty. The Roast beef was a nice rare to medium rare, but lacked enough seasoning. The potatoes were grilled small chunk potatoes but we're stone cold. The eggs benedict would have been very good, except that the English muffin was not even toasted. I tried three desserts. The lemon danish was outstanding! The gluten-free chocolate cake was not very tasty. I only ate two bites. Finally, I had a somewhat undercooked custard. Maritta, my server, was excellent.
