Good neighborhood joint serving classic Japanese food and also tacos. A fusion that may seem questionable, however, it does the job right and is more of a 2-in-1 shop instead of fusion. The chicken teriyaki had very tender chicken and nicely flavored vegetable hiding underneath over a bed of brown rice. It was good! The chicken curry tasted like a classic curry with perfectly fried panko chicken. I kinda wish it had some vegetables with it, however. This isn’t a place to go out of your way for, but great for locals in the neighborhood wanting a quick bite or a place to have some sake on a Thursday night. I will be coming back to this place on the occasion of having a long day at work and not really wanting to cook. Good food!

Stopped by while walking down Tompkins Ave in search of good breakfast and coffee. I was surprised to see their breakfast tacos on the menu. Let me tell you they did NOT disappoint. Added avocado. They’re a good size I was full with one. The variety of homemade salsas (verde was my fav) I would literally buy if they bottled, they were the icing on the cake! We will be returning.

Absolutely incredible flavor and honestly this was some of the best cooked salmon I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast

Partner and I went this weekend and it was some of the most delicious tacos we have ever had. We really recommend the salmon and fried chicken tacos! We had our dog with us so the outside seating was a giant plus :) partner said the atmosphere inside was amazing and that he’d really like to go back! We ordered it to go and they thought ahead and separated the taco filling from the tortilla to prevent them from getting soggy- so genius. Thank you!

Really great place. Nachos had good cheese and the green salsa is the best salsa in any place in NY. The curry was authentic and homey. Chicken was amazing. Definitely a place worth traveling to, definitely worth trying a few things

An interesting fusion kitchen, a mix of Mexican, Japanese, Indian... I love all these cuisines so good news for me. We ordered food for pick-up and it in fact was ready for when it was promised. Everything is nicely packed mostly in compostable boxes. All dishes tasted very good (the taco wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was decent) and the portions are generous. Highly recommended.

Love this place!! My daughter and I ate here on a weekend stay in Bed-Stuy. I had delicious tacos and she had a Japanese curry bowl. Have you ever had a yam taco? Go to Warude to get one. The chicken mole was excellent too. My daughter said the curry bowl was the best thing she has ever eaten.

I've been coming here since they opened. It's one of my favorite local spots to go grab lunch & people watch. I love their tacos. Their bowls and their Japanese curry is SO good (to me) :)

I was highly disappointed by this place...marketed as an Asian fusion restaurant it was a big let down. Service was also not friendly. This was not my first time here either. I tried the rice bowl and it was so dry and lacked flavor. I was hoping my next time would be better but...the ramen broth lacked flavor and was extremely watery. Additionally, the $6 tofu add on was slimey and unseasoned. The overall flavor was disappointing but also just a let down. Would not recommend.

My friend brought me here after we played tennis and I was so glad he did. I almost got the ramen but ended up getting the Warude Curry. Wow it was delicious. A generous amount of chicken/fish/shrimp in a delicious but mild curry sauce with rice and veggies. I need to go back and try the ramen and tacos. We sat outside on the sidewalk which was nice since it's a quiet street. Prices were pretty reasonable too.

I always enjoy coming back here when I'm in the neighborhood. Their food is always consistent, you know what you're getting. You can never go wrong with their tacos, they're just that good! We got the fried chicken, grilled shrimp, fried cod fish, and grilled salmon. They were all equally delicious, fresh, and you can taste the quality ingredients they fill with each taco. I love their Matcha Beer, it's refreshing and flavorful. It compliments the tacos nicely. This spot is always steadily busy, you can usually grab a table if you wait long enough. They're always playing great music, the vibe is chill but fun, and the staff are always friendly. This is a great local taco spot with awesome tacos, be sure to check them out when you're in the area.

Warude is my go-to lunch spot in the hood, my favorite is the fried chicken taco (my only critique is they need to work on their tortilla making ) but their fish taco, ramen and veggie dumplings are also stellar. If I'm being healthy I get the chicken teriyaki or salmon bowl with brown rice and kale salad. The Teriyaki sauce is not too heavy handed, and less sweet than most which is perfect for me. Great for people watching and checking out the Thompkins scene - though at lunch rush might be hard to secure a table!

I have ordered delivery and gone in person. I've had the chicken mole taco, fried cod taco, guacamole and chips, miso salmon, and fried chicken curry bowl here. The tacos weren't bad, they don't skimp on the filling size, but they also require a substantial amount of salsa on top to made it less bland. The fried fish really needed spice. The guacamole was fresh and delicious but I wasn't a fan of the chips they used, they were too thick for my taste and so it felt very overwhelming vs just being a vehicle for the guacamole. The miso salmon is great, tender inside but crispy on the outside, just the way I like it. The fried chicken curry was so yummy, I think it will be hard to deviate from it in the future. They have really big portion sizes and the food seems quality, so I will definitely be back again. The dine in experience is like you're in a takeout garage. You order at a counter and wait for them to call your number. They have two tables inside and then several more outside. No table service and no frills.

This place is sooo unique and I've been meaning to check it out each time I've passed by. It's a mix of Japanese and Mexican food with bowls and tacos. I thought the tacos were a little pricey but they were really good. Took maybe 5-10 min for my grilled shrimp taco to be ready. There's a bit of seating inside but it's a pretty casual vibe overall. Would be a good idea for a quick bite with friends.

This became my go-to matcha latte spot in Bedstuy because it's good quality and under $5. You can watch them whisk the matcha right after you order! Also the staff here have all been kind. I've tried their food before but honestly have just been coming for the bevs.

I spontaneously came into town and needed food. It was flavorful and delicious and cozy.

I've had this place a few times before and usually I get the curry bowl (would recommend, 5/5). Today I thought I'd try something new and go with the Japanese plate instead. The miso soup was quite interesting, I enjoyed how many ingredients they put into it! It was comprised of more than just miso paste and tofu, there was some kelp and mushroom in there. The salted Japanese pickles were too salty for my liking so that was a miss. For the protein, I did the +$2 upcharge and got the salted grilled mackerel. It was absolutely delicious. I was worried it wouldn't be enough food for me so I also ordered a side order of panko fried shrimp. I really love how clean the food here tastes, it's not overly fatty or greasy, and it's simple food made with quality ingredients. Like I said before, I usually get their curry bowls, and you really can't go wrong with any of their panko fried proteins (shrimp, fish, chicken). For those looking for a healthier alternative, I would recommend their teriyaki chicken bowl. The service is fast and friendly, and there are casual seating options both inside and outside. The tables are small, however, so I'm not sure this place would be ideal for larger parties (greater than 4). The prices aren't super cheap but for the quality of the ingredients they use, I feel like you are getting good value. The price of a chipotle burrito with guac in the city is comparable and that can't compare to the quality and flavor Warude provides in their dishes.

I have had their tacos and gyoza a couple times now and I think it's a fun spot to combine both food genres! They could work on adding more flavor to the tacos and making tortillas that can hold their own with all the filling instead of falling apart. Also pretty expensive compared to other spots in BK

In Bed Stuy looking for a place to grab breakfast? Look no further than Warude! I spent a month in Bed Stuy, and this was right around the corner from where I was staying. What I really liked apart from the food is the general vibe of the place. Instead of being an enclosed place like most restaurants are, Warude is open at the front. It feels really homey, kind of like you're pulling into someone's driveway and hanging out. Of course, the food was delicious too. The breakfast tacos are generous in size and very hearty. The nachos left a little something to be desired but are still good to share.

Food: 4.5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Experience: 4/5 This joint is in what looks like a former garage. There are not too many seats; there are tables that spill out into the sidewalk area - very lax and no frills place. There's a decently sized menu with a variety of options, and prices looked ok. I ordered the basic curry with chicken, which took mere minutes to come out. The chicken was crispy but not oily, and the curry was pretty thick. The rice was also well cooked.

If you are in Bed-Stuy please check this place out. It is so good. One day we had delicious breakfast tacos- the chicken mole and their spicy spiced latte (iced) was amazing! The next day I had ramen with salmon and it was perfect. I also tried their tumeric matcha! Could have been hotter, but the flavor was really good. My husband had a chicken curry but was kind of bummed because it was the same mole sauce from the tacos. So a little redundant! But the chicken was good! Everyone there is super nice. The bathroom was super clean & they give customers a code to get in. It's order at the counter & small space with partial indoor/outdoor sidewalk seating. They have such an eclectic fusion menu and next time I'm back in NYC I'm definitely going to Brooklyn just to have Warude.

I will start by saying the service is great and the people who took my order were very kind and informative. The ambiance is also pleasant with the openness of the restaurant and seating that goes into the street I really liked that. However the food was pretty disappointing. My friend got the Cod curry and the cod was probably the best thing they make. It's cooked to be crispy however the food was very mediocre. I got the salmon taco, shrimp taco, chicken and cod. They were all underwhelming as well. It didn't taste flavorful at all plus the hot sauce was not hot in my opinion.

Stopped in here late Saturday afternoon (Oct. 21) and was left underwhelmed. I ordered the Basic Breakfast Taco and the name was spot-on. Yes, the name says it all so it's quite foolish to have high expectations. But to be quite frank, basic might be an understatement. Salt and pepper would have made this "basic" and this taco didn't have either. Hot sauce was the taco's saving grace.

Bomb outdoor spot! I was hanging out for the Sunday Tompkins Block Party and got hungry so we went to Warude per a friend's recommendation. Between the three of us, we tried the sweet yam, fried cod fish, fried chicken, and grilled shrimp tacos and we loved them all! Full of flavor and perfect taco portions. We also tried some of the sake which was tasty!

The tacos, were good the ambiance is very chill the service is just right. These pop up shops in the bedstuy community are making things great as far as convenient and fun spots to eat at or to grab a quick bite if you're on the go or on the run. This is a casual place to dine in or out. It's my 1st time trying this place but if I want something quick to eat and hit the road I'll try this place again. I definitely enjoyed the chicken mole taco whew what a good bite. Warude has interestingly Japanese and Mexican cuisine.

The BEST FOOD ever, along with excellent service and good vibes! I love this place and the food was delicious. Yuichi, the owner is just the best. He makes you feel like you have found your home! I highly recommend Warude and its chill atmosphere.

I saw this place many times on UberEats but sometimes it is too far to justify trying it. But after getting my hair done nearby and I didn't have lunch so I was up for anything. I am mad at myself for not eating here before since it is a fusion of some of my favorite cuisines, Japanese and Mexican with Jamaican ital inspiration. I was in the mood for something filling so I got the bowl with organic brown rice, salmon miso, kale salad with the add ons of avocado and a soft boiled egg. I wanted to try the crispy chicken skin taco but they ran out so I got the cod one instead. It was tasty and filling especially the miso salmon itself (which you can order on its own). Definitely something I will add to my roster They quickly took my order at the counter which was nice. I came at the right time (1 pm Wednesday) since right after many people came to order. My order came out quick (they do a receipt number system where they call out your order number). They had funky (complimentary) seating indoors and outdoors and since they offer drinks from coffee to wine and sake, this would be a great hangout spot or a casual date. One thing to note is that they have specials posted near the cash register that you can miss if you don't look for them (plus if you order online). This place is worth a visit

Really vibrant shop with good music and most importantly delicious food! Lunch rush was busy here but didn't really have to wait too long to grab a table and order without calling ahead. Be warned though as they might run out of items you want to try so just keep that in mind if you're coming to try something specific. I ended up ordering one fried cod fish and one fried chicken taco and both were delicious! Nice portion sizes and perfectly crisp protein to hold the toppings. I felt full without the meal feeling too heavy so if you're hungry why not go for three! I like that they also have some options if you prefer to go vegetarian or vegan without having to sacrifice taste.

I'm a frequent eater in Bed Stuy. I found myself wanting tacos, while my cousin wanted ramen. He takes me to Warude. The aesthetic is a bit chaotic, but it works for this establishment. The seating was adequate, the meals quickly prepared and full of flavor. I ordered 3 tacos (Fried fish, fried chicken, and shrimp), chicken ramen, and cold unfiltered Sake. Smashed all of it. The chicken taco was my favorite bite, but the ramen was a close contender. I'm a tonkatsu ramen Stan, but the lack of pork on the menu meant nothing when I was scarfing down delicious tacos and noodles. Will definitely come back when I'm in the 'Stuy.

I came to this place because I was waiting for my Yelp event to start. First to start this place definitely caught my eye because it was big and had both outdoor and indoor seating. Also it has decorative walls. When I walked inside it was a Mexican curry fusion place. I ordered the fried chicken taco. I really enjoyed this taco but it was interesting. When I ordered the taco it did not have a tortilla. When I went to eat it; I told the person she checked and then they gave me a tortilla. So in my mind it would have been best if they gave me a new taco and asked me if I wanted to keep the tortilla less taco. But nonetheless I received my tortilla and it was very good. I would definitely come back and try other items from their menu. Also in their defense it was very busy and you can see they were operating at their peak time. I do recommend this place, things happen.

Sunday brunch Tacos done right! Along with a bottle of Saratoga Sparkling water to hydrate in this heat wave of a situation we ordered: Shrimp Tacos: Freshly cooked shrimp with a couple of veggies. Nothing too fancy or unique. It required the addition of a lot of sauces on the side to enhance the flavor so probably not the most enjoyable on its own. 5/10 Fried Cod Taco: Crispy interiors of the fried cod went well with the soft exterior of the taco shell. Good on flavor and good on texture. 8.5/10 Chicken Mole Taco: The chicken was cooked perfectly and flavorful to the best degree. The mole flavor was present and jazzed up this taco wonderfully which could otherwise be ordinary which it wasn't at all. 10/10 Chicken Mole Breakfast Taco: shaped and wrapped as a burrito and absolutely delicious. The chicken mole flavor was prominent as you'd like for it with a boost of some egg and cheese inside a soft taco exterior. This was delicious and a half. 10/10

I got their "Warude Ramen with grilled chicken" and was pretty underwhelmed with my order. It consisted of low quality cuts of meat, some corn, sprouts, broth and noodles. This amounted to a 20$ bowl of mostly flavorless, bland soup...an overpriced and totally forgettable meal. The serving size was decent and the staff were friendly.

Warude is a gem in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. During the pandemic, I ordered from here, a few times, and it was tasty. Recently, I got to experience the greatness, in person. I loved the shrimp tacos, the teriyaki chicken and shrimp and zucchini bowls, and the breakfast tacos. The outdoor dining is a vibe. Nice way to people watch and take Tompkins Ave. all in. Can't wait to go again. It was a perfect stop to get lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

Have you ever woken up and wanted both Japanese and Mexican food but you couldn't figure out how to swing it? Well Warude has you covered! Tacos and tostadas live harmoniously with ramen and curry on their menu. This is a lively and popular neighborhood spot, and they've continued to thrive by expanding their outdoor dining capacity during COVID. I really enjoyed my basic curry with fried shrimp. Delicious curry, big shrimp, and a very generous portion. We also had the tuna sashimi tostada appetizer special and that really wowed me. I'm not usually tuna person, but they really knocked the flavors out with this dish. Alongside lunch we ordered a sparkling nigori sake, which I'd never tried before. The bubbles really add a refreshing element to the drink. Previously I tried a couple of their tacos. I'll have to make another trip before I settle on my thoughts there, but they're pretty solid. On a future trip I look forward to seeing what the ramen is like, but I have seen that people order it often so I'm sure it's also good.

Dry, flavorless, and undressed salad. Need I say more ? I'll start with the positive. The food was packaged well, with the curry separate from the chicken so it wouldn't be soggy. However the chicken on its own was beyond dry, almost like cardboard with zero seasoning. The salmon miso was also dry and over cooked. The side salad was not dressed and had no dressing included. It was simply chopped kale. I also ordered the teriyaki chicken, which had a brush of sauce and mound of rice. The best thing I ate was the curry sauce but even that was very sweet. Not what I expected at all. I picked this place off the pictures and reviews online and sadly it did not live up to my expectations.

A cool place serving Asian fusion eats. I love finding neighborhood restaurants like this one and I didn't have to travel far cuz it was within walking distance from where we stayed. Ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice and kale salad side and shared a tuna sashimi tostada. Food was fresh and tasty. The tostada came with a generous portion of tuna, it was delicious! Others in my party enjoyed a variety of tacos/nachos. Definitely will be back if visiting again!

Japanese and Mexican food on one menu? Why not! And when it's this good, no one's gonna question why you can get a salmon miso bowl and a chicken mole taco at the same restaurant. Anyone gatekeeping authenticity should look no further than Warude's own website, which explains that the origin of the fish taco began when Japanese fisherman in Mexico put fish tempura in tortillas. It stands to reason that anything that tastes good can be put into a tortilla to make a delicious taco, hence their menu which features tacos with unique ingredients like sweet yam and crispy chicken skin. I love that they underscore that in a global world, all food is fusion, and the way they combine Japanese and Mexican ingredients is a well executed fusion I can get behind. Everything I ordered was fantastic, from the grilled shrimp taco to the fried cod fish taco and the tortilla soup. Even the simple side of rice and beans was enjoyable, made even better by their really fantastic hot sauce. It enhanced the flavor of everything I doused it on, which was everything. Both tacos were hefty enough to feel okay about paying $5.95 per taco for, and flavorful enough to consider ordering another one or three. My partner was really impressed with their crispy chicken skin taco and fried chicken taco, both fillings you don't normally see paired with tortillas but worked very well together. I'd love to return for one of their Japanese curry bowls and definitely the chips with cod fish and horseradish dip. This is very much a popular neighborhood spot, so the handful of sidewalk tables they set up outside will often be full. The tables turnover quickly though so a table will likely vacate by the time you order, pay at the register, and wait for them to call your ticket number. The owner is also a musician who plays Afro-Caribbean, African and Japanese drums. On his website he writes about how much touring around the world has influenced his outlook on food culture, the environment, and music which all sound kind of random but once you understand the through line it makes dining at Warude all the more enjoyable.

I'm usually a skeptic when it comes to a restaurant that does wildly different menus Japanese and Tacos ? And then you add in the fact that the chef wanted to incorporate "ITAL" Rastafarian food philosophy into the menu and I start feeling like too much is going on. Lunch: I decided to go with the Crispy Skin Taco and the Warude Taco which was topped with grilled chicken. Taco was amazing. Ramen was ok. It really comes down to preference. It was bright and the grilled chicken had an amazing grilled flavor which I prefer paired with rice vs. soup. Next time i'll have the bowl instead.

I had been eyeing this place for a very long time with its bright awnings and cute little tables outside. So I decided to treat myself to lunch with friends to day. Though ordering process is very simple, walk up to the window in order then take a seat in wait. When your order is ready they call you or they may even bring it to your table. The quality of the food is very good. Everything tastes fresh and healthy. The prices are a little steep for the portions but you know businesses have been struggling (suck it up buttercup, we need good takeout). I ordered the fish taco, the chicken taco (so tasty), and the organic Brown rice and beans. I also had the matcha latte which was very good (ceremonial grade) whisked right in front of you. They have multiple milk options which was a plus for me. I would definitely have it again.

The employees were very nice! Lots of options and tons of tacos! I got 4 basic breakfast tacos little did i know they were HUGE. keep that in mind when you order! It took about 30 minutes...... which is fine but it's very hot outside. The tacos are super good! They also have tons of drink options, beer, matcha, coffee ,ginger turmeric latte. The tacos were super good. Would love to come back in the winter to try their ramen!

I happened upon Warude on a Sunday night recently, during one of Tompkins Ave beautiful block parties. I was so impressed. After 10PM and the cooks at Warude were serving up tasty Asian Fusion and cold beers to the crowds in the most unhurried, cool as a fan fashion. I sat outside at one of their sidewalk tables, people watching for almost an hour, before and after my order. I decided on soft grilled shrimp tacos and an ice cold Japanese, rice based IPA. Almost perfect. Minus a star because the taco shell was a bit on the dried out, crumbly side-just a bit. Warude is still a great place though.

It's a cute place but I'm Japanese and have to say the foods are not very good, they don't really care. Their foods are very boring and stuff are unfriendly. It's cheap but I would rather pay more and go somewhere else to have nicer foods with care.

Love the vibe, the people and the food. A great neighborhood spot worth supporting. Indoor dining is limited, but if the weather is nice I would recommend taking a seat outside and enjoying the view. Highly recommend!

Dining in, or rather out, was heaven on Tompkins Avenue! The staff brought out a table and chairs for us, food was even better than when delivered, the spiced latte was a dream!

I am obsessed with the understated, simplistic charm and concept of this place! It is walking distance from home, and has a symphonic menu of food & beverages that speak to my Soul.

Warude is a very interesting take on Japanese Mexican fusion. All of the dishes I tried were delicious and very Instagram-worthy. The fried chicken taco and the guacamole were my favorites. There is a wait because they do a lot of takeout orders. So you will see dozens of orders go out before yours. The staff is working hard but it just takes a while. This is not fast food. Seating is very limited. So one person should order the food while the other negotiates with people who are almost done with their food. If you are alone, good luck.

What I didn't: *My tocos were good, not as tasty as west coast tacos and Mexican food is *Serving Japanese and Mexican is ambitious. Maybe too ambitious. One OR the other might be better The menu was pretty hefty due to serving Mexican and Japanese cuisine. Once I zeroed in on the tacos I was ready to give this place a try. I took one bite into the tacos and remembered that NY Mexican is pretty mediocre. West coast Mexican flood is much more flavorful. I would come back and try the Japanese offerings.

Hit or miss food. Warude is a fast casual restaurant with limited seating where you order at the counter. I tried the eggplant and okra bowl with roasted cabbage. My dish was served warm but was completely lacking in any flavor. It is possible that the cook forgot to put the sauce on. I tried the my wife's curry sauce as well and I thought the sauce was more interesting with a strong ginger flavor. Overall, I could be persuaded to return to Warude, but I would order something different.

This BedStuy staple packs a full flavor punch! Blending Japanese and Mexican cuisines together as one for a party in your mouth! The set up is casual with some outdoor dining available as well as pick up and delivery. The menu ranges from tacos to ramen. I opted for the Japanese plate with salted mackerel. It came with rice, miso soup, & Japanese pickles. All delicious and fresh! The salted mackerel was crispy yet moist and a pretty substantial size. My friend ordered the Warude curry which had fried fish and shrimp with brown curry and rice. Everything was hot and delicious! The menu switches up from time to time with added tacos and combinations. This place can get pretty busy throughout the day/night but we probably waited no longer than 12 minutes for the food which was great!

Only had the tortilla soup which was okay. A bit thick like tomato soup and it contained very little chicken. I do wish they added cheese, avocado and tortilla strips. That said, this omission didn't ruin it for me.... but the soup was JUST okay. That said, cute spot, a bit tight, and open late.

Not only is the food and the coffee here really good, they provide some of the best customer service I have received in any of these places in the Bed-Stuy area. The Hispanic girl that works at the cashier always greets with a smile and a pleasant positive attitude.. She deserves five stars alone just off of the amazing customer service she provides! They make you want to return and buy food because they provide amazing customer service! Half of these places don't even greet you and act like you're coming in to beg them for their mediocre food! Will define be returning for the scrumptious tacos! Thank you guys!

Great little outside joint in bed stuy! I love coming here for their tacos and grilled mackerel. Very chill vibe and the service is great. They have a sake canned beer that is very good as well. Expect to spend $40-45 for two for a casual evening snack with drinks.
