Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka 1

We were really keen to try babu guling, and after some research we found out Ibu Oka is one of the well established place for the dish. There are a few Ibu Oka branches and we came to Ibu Oka 1. At around 11.30am the place didn’t have many diners but you could it’s clearly popular with the locals as there were lots waiting for takeaways and Grab food orders. We order a special set with extra skin/ kulit. We had no prior experience with babi guling but we liked what we had. Everything was flavoursome, crisp skin varied a bit in terms of crunchiness and wasn’t heavily seasoned. Overall, we enjoyed the set meal here and would recommend others to try. Just beware it’s cash-only place.

We visited on a rainy Sunday afternoon around 12:30. We were immediately seated and able to order. I got the special including soup and the waitress thoughtfully suggested a child special for my 7 year old. We both loved it! I only wish it were served hot as the only thing slightly warm was the soup. Everything was pretty good overall!

This is our 4th attempt at finding the best Babi Guling in Bali and we were not disappointed. The skin was crisp, although I wish there was enough to order an extra plate of skin. The portion of meat was the best I have seen. The pork was delicious and was not riddled with fat as at some other locations we tried. The sambal on the pork was excellent and the spicy sambal on the table was extra hot the way I like it. My girlfriend preferred the soup at this location, although it was not my favorite. Overall a 4 star rating because roasted pig in the Philippines is much better. As for Bali, this is the best to date.

I’ve dreamt of eating here for 12 years, and you know what? It was well worth the wait! Idk how there’s bad reviews, maybe they’ve gone back to quality but MY experiences were 🔥🔥 I had the Pisah special iced tea and braised chayote one day, and maaaan! That kulit crispy skin is peeerfect! You can taste the aroma of slow roasting over coffeewood, and it’s wafer thin crispiness is to die for! The sambal and the sosis were amazing too! Love the smoky spice on those sosis and the lawar on the side with that juuuuicy pork? 😮‍💨 Their iced tea and fresh coconut are perfect drinks to have to (2nd time I went, I had coconut, but they had fried skin instead, so warning: BE EARLY to get the roasted skin!) Great babi guling! Definitely worth a meal while in Ubud. No frills, but tasty. Get the Nasi Babi Guling Spesial - trio of meats, rice and veggies, and you will be happy!

At 18:25 no crispy skin, no balinese vegetables…, for this price in Bali it’s not fair, especially when the restorant is famous of the sucking pig and crispy skin. It is the same story, a restaurant became popular and the quality is not important anymore. Please, make true review! This was my 4th and last visit here… At the end they did not accept a Card in 2024!!! The only up, they send me away when I was shocked, so had not to pay…

Few Balinese recommended us to try sucking pigs in Bali. It’s pig in various forms. The pork was delicious. When we want to order more grilled or fried pork skin, no extra plates left. I believe that the spicy level has been adjusted lower to suit the foreigner’s tongue.

Terrible food. Worst Babi gulling since being in Bali. Lucky I even gave 1 star. Also the guy ripped me off, I had 1 coconut, 1 babiguling which he said was 75k. Not worth the time this place.
