Google
Food and service was great! 4 stars on service only because using the restroom was a little confusing -- knowing how to get there (shared hallway bathroom situation) and then getting locked out from re-entering (and seeing multiple patrons suffer the same destiny after telling the employees about it). Atmosphere rating at 3 because I prefer a dimmer, cozier ambience and it's fluorescent bright in there. Overall, highly recommend. I'll be back to try more dishes! Love the wall art, too!

Google
More so a 3.5 star rating. It is good sushi but as mentioned before it is not the best of the best. Still great though and a good spot to have a quick sushi lunch/dinner. Recommend the Specialty Rolls. Sushi Donuts we’re good but feels inefficient in terms of eating it. I’m sure you have to eat it like a hand roll but would be nice to use chopsticks rather than use my hands. The only thing I don’t recommend is the seared salmon. It felt like it wasn’t seared and more so cooked all the way through. Either way, nice lunch/dinner spot for a decent meal.

Google
Wonderful gem of a sushi spot. Greeted kindly, friendly service. I had their Omega 3 Poke bowl and it was amazing! Very fresh, with a unique spiced topping I wouldn't be able to replicate at home. Fair price and prompt service. I highly recommend; can't wait to come back.

Google
For soup, we got the miso soup and for sushi, we got the temptation sushi roll and red dragon sushi roll. This was an Uber eats order. Service was quick and packed on time. The rolls were delicious and the miso soup felt so good to have in rainy weather…..The shrimp tempura inside the sushi was crispy😍Their sushi rolls are a must try!!!

Joy

Google
Ordered take out, it is so good! I was excited for the rice burger cause I haven’t seen that in a while! And it did not disappoint 😍 My personal favorite is the treasure island roll, the seared salmon sushi donut is so good too!! 🤤 I’m ready for food coma

Google
I'm in Saint Vincent's hospital and just had an urge for sushi in this place has good reviews. My experience has exceeded expectations and the food was excellent and the service is superb. I ordered through Uber eats. This place will get my business again

Jameson Williams

Google
I am not sure I would return, sadly. The kombuchas in the cooler had all expired. The high-touch surfaces like glass and door handles were all pretty dirty, the place could use a deep clean overall. The sushi burrito was kind of weird, it had like a fish paste inside. That said I wish all the best to the business!!

Google
My first time to this place and I thought it was amazing. The roll was really good. They also have sushi burritos and even offer sushi donuts but I wasn't hungry enough to try it all this time. I'll have to go back.

Yelp
I tried this food cart in Oak Tree Station food truck pod. I ordered ahead and picked up my lunch. It was ready and waiting when I arrived. The man who served me was super friendly. I liked him a lot. I looked at the website and had decided on the spicy garlic tofu poke. Unfortunately when I called to order he said they didn't have it and only had the ginger tofu version, so I went with that. It was a lot of food and filled me up. In fact, wasn't hungry for dinner because I was still full. I think between the tofu and edamame, there was plenty of protein. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the sauce that came on everything was just to acidic for me. It was too sour & vinegar heavy. But that's my personal taste. You might like it.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Small little casual or takeout spot Food: Did the job. I'm a fan of Spicy Tuna Rolls so I don't get too exotic but maybe next time I'll branch out Price: Very reasonable prices. Love that they are close to my apartment. Service: Standard Parking: Small parking lot in front of or plenty of street parking
google avatar

Maya A.

Yelp
Ambiance - the location is at a street corner with plenty of parking, right across from a food truck lot. I went on a Wednesday at around 4:30pm and the restaurant was very quiet, comfortable, with mellow music and friendly staff. The lighting and temperature was comfortable. The place appears very clean! Food - I ordered a variety of food, as pictured, and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The food came out quickly and all at the same time. The price was so reasonable for everything. Their sushi donuts and sushi burritos seem to be a specialty. The donut was amazing! I will definitely plan on coming here again!

Yelp
We ordered for delivery and the sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. It was a lot of food and we were happy with the taste. Not the fanciest place in Portland but solid for delivery.
google avatar

Kiley Corrina V.

Yelp
Always delicious! I like to it in the bar because it's a bit quieter (weird right) haha. The service is always great, we get checked in on quite a lot, and if you sit in the bar you'll never get low on your drinks!

Yelp
This used to be my go to. So many vegetarian options. Yesterday the sushi rice had not been seasoned properly or at all, leaving the sushi tasting flat. It's also irritating to see the tip options come up starting at 20%. So in buying $23 in sushi I'm going to tip $4.60? I don't think so. And that was the lower end of what was programmed. Big turn off.
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
Altogether, this was pretty great sushi! We ordered two rolls, a sushi burrito to split, and edamame for dinner and it ended up being a little too much food. It was so much food for the price point! The rolls were delicious, but I realized I would've liked the Las Vegas roll better if it didn't have cream cheese. The fried outside is so good and the size of each piece is unbelievable. The interior is informal and has cool art on the wall. They've got a lot of options for sake and some non-alcoholic bottled drinks. The size and variety of the menu alone I would say makes this worth trying. There are even lots of vegetarian options. I'll be back, especially because my previous go-to sushi place has been less and less food that's becoming increasingly expensive.

Yelp
I usually get the ocean bowl as my go to meal but today I wanted to try the flaming hot cheeto sushi burrito... If you like spicy, hot cheetos and sushi- this is the one for you. In my own opinion I love anything spicy and hot cheetos so this was tasty for me. I love how crunchy it is and how with one half you can feel full! I would definitely order again Service is great and there's outdoor seating if you like eating outside

Yelp
My husband and I were out exploring and I was craving one thing and he was craving another. Fortunately, Wasabi Sushi had both! We also didn't want to wait too long for our food because we were starving. At Wasabi Sushi, you walk in, order at the counter, find an empty table, and your butt barely even touches the seat and then you find that your food is already there! LOL! Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit, but that's what it felt like for me. We definitely appreciated the fast service. It was a chilly day, so I really wanted some ramen and he hasn't had sushi for some time and needed his sushi fix. We ordered a TONKOTSU RAMEN for me and a SPIDER B-RITTO for him. We also shared a RED DRAGON ROLL. The tonkotsu ramen was good, no complaints. I added a lot of spice since I personally like my ramen fiery hot. I actually enjoyed the red dragon roll more and wish I didn't have to share it. It was all too filling, so we had enough leftovers to bring home and enjoy at a later time. We found an empty table by the window. It wasn't too packed when we were there on a Sunday. We especially loved the vibes inside! Colorful murals filled the walls of the restaurant, made for some pretty epic lunchtime views.

Yelp
I was influenced to try Wasabi Sushi. I saw a Reel of theirs on Instagram and wanted to try their trendy sushi donuts. I ended up calling in and ordering wayyyy too much for a takeout order. I got two sushi burritos, two sushi donuts, one sushi burger, and a sushi roll. For two people. Pickup was quick - about 20 minutes. Their takeout boxes are cleverly branded and quite sturdy. Costs were on the pricier side, but it's sushi and it's trendy so that makes sense. Everything tasted good. If anything, I wish items like the hot cheeto sushi burrito had even more flavor. I would probably skip the burger next time as the rice bun fell apart very easily. But I would re-order the burrito and donut for novelty - perhaps with an out of town visitor looking for quirky Portland food!

Yelp
Wassap! One of my favorite things about Wasabi Sushi is that is is whoppingly fast. Whizzing fast like the flash. I live nearby this place and so I love when I have a quick desire for a sushi roll. In this way, I appreciate the quick turn around from ordering to when the fish lands in your mouth. Solid establishment, yet not the most amazing taste of fish. In the opposite day of Charles Dickens, it was not the best, but it's not the worst. I enjoy this place over the past year.

Jake C.

Yelp
Wasabi advertise hours on Saturday open until 10pm. I went there with a party of 5 at 8:50 and was refused to be seated. The host stated they will not seat party prior to 1 hour to closing and offered to go order. I even let her know we were generous tippers and was still refused. This is a warning that Wasabi hours of operation is misleading and false. fortunately we went to Mio Sushi open until 12Am great food and fantastic service!

Yelp
Meh just average ok sushi. Service was friendly. It's been about 10 years since I have been here and my husband about 4 years. We came here randomly one night craving sushi while shopping in the area but left feeling a little let down and remembered why it had been so long since we had been back. It's just mediocre at best. We did try a few different rolls and an appetizer which was all filler.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
I don't know if I would come back to eat here. I called in and ordered 2 rolls, a caterpillar roll (eel + avocado + eel sauce) and their pivot special roll (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, raw salmon on top) and both were really just.. whatever.. the caterpillar was much better than the pivot, which was really fishy and didn't have any other flavors than that. Not to mention a bone I bit into from a piece of salmon which was really irritating, like learn to clean the properly PLEASE. Back to the caterpillar roll though, it tasted good from the eel sauce but inside the actual roll, there was little to no actual eel. Like such an incredibly small amount. It was $15 for each roll, so $30 plus a $5 tip. I wasn't expecting top grade fish and taste but I was thinking it would've been better than what I got.

Yelp
We had been to the Wasabi Sushi food cart in Happy Valley before and liked the food we got from there. So when it came time to pick a restaurant for our date night before a show, we were excited to try their brick and mortar location. My wife has some very strict dietary restrictions at the moment, so going out to eat can be challenging. We were unable to find anything on the menu that she could have but I asked the employee behind the counter if they were able to make something custom for us. To my surprise, he said they made everything fresh and were happy to make a custom roll for us. My wife was able to get something to eat and I enjoyed the roll I had. Most importantly, we got GREAT service.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
Forgot to take pics :( but will definitely be back! The rolls are great sized and great pricing! We got a few rolls and a chicken Karaage bowl which comes with rice, really good portion too.

Yelp
I was craving sushi and chose this place on a food delivery app because of their decent prices and wide range of options. I honestly wasn't expecting the food to be great because I've had my fair share of less-than-mediocre sushi in Portland, but I was pretty satisfied with my meal. I tend to look for items that have tuna rather than salmon, which can sometimes be hard to find in the northwest. Wasabi Sushi had more than enough options for me to pick from. I ordered the Cart Lab Sushi B-Ritto, Caterpillar Sushi Roll, Red Dragon Sushi Roll and a Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll. I was happily surprised with the size of the sushi burrito because I thought it'd be smaller for $11. My favorite dish out of these was definitely the Red Dragon which came with spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and spicy eel sauce. I'm still on the hunt for my favorite sushi spot in Portland, but I wouldn't be opposed to ordering from Wasabi Sushi again.
google avatar

Chase M.

Yelp
what a fun cart now. Granted the rolls are just priced out for me in this market these days and I get it. Everything's going up but it takes me a few rolls to get full and no way I'm spending 50 bucks on sushi rolls now my other half is always complaining about all of her dietary constraints, therefore it's often nice to find a place that she enjoys. It also fits the bill and this place had some bowls and they definitely filled ya up... we went for the seafood salad and the omega-3 bowl and I'll tell you the omega-3 bowl had so much food in it and it definitely could've been shared. We had a lot of fun coming to the newer cart pod and being able to divide and conquer, and each get something we found enjoyable. The fish and all the ingredients were very fresh which might be hard to believe being that we went there on Saturday though I'm sure not a lot of places are waking up early to go to the fishmarket. Definitely come in and support these businesses so this establishment sticks around because historical troutdale was getting a little stuffy

Yelp
I tried the Tuna Poke Bowl, Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll and California Roll. Tuna Poke Bowl: The container wasn't really filled, more half full. The fish wasn't marinated from what I could tell or it was very light, the poke bowl had a slight kick of spice which was a nice added addition. The cucumber and avocado and Masago added to the bowl, wish there was a sauce that helped mixed everything together better. For $11, I would hope the Poke Bowl is filled with toppings, as other shops who make Poke Bowls cost around the same and gives more. Spicy Tuna Roll & Spicy Salmon Roll: The fish was fresh and delicious, rice was cooked nicely. California Roll: a classic, the rice was soft and there was a good amount of imitation crab to rice to avocado and cucumber ratio. Overall, this place is decent. The fish quality is good and the sushi rolls are a decent price. They have many other unique options such as a sushi donut, sushi burger, sushi burrito which looks very pretty.

Yelp
Wonderful little gem. Food was good. Good location and easy parking in the pay lot across the street.

Menischia D.

Yelp
I decided to order from this restaurant due to a long week at work and I really didn't want to go out. I ordered through Uber eats and they got my food to me piping hot and oh my goodness, it tastes so good. Just what I needed on this chilly day in Portland. Comfort food at its best!!!! I got the tuna and salmon sushi donut and the Tonkatsu Ramen.
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
I got the cali crunch roll treasure island roll and soft shelled crab, it was ALL delicious and fresh tasting!
google avatar

Pikmin R.

Yelp
Came for the flaming hot sushi donut bc why not?!? Got a couple other things too. All were really good! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Macklin M.

Yelp
Forgot 4 things for our order but charged us full price. You have to make sure that you put the correct items in the bag, it was over $60 of food and didn't receive half of it at least. The food was also way over cooked in every way, there are a ton of other options that serve the same food but with high quality.
google avatar

Travis T.

Yelp
I've only had Wasabi delivered, but I've liked every roll I've ordered (skip the blackened tuna bowl). My favorite is the Red Dragon roll. The Caterpillar is another one of my favorites. Wasabi is a great option for decently priced sushi. It's not in my top 5 sushi restaurants in Portland, but it gets the job done when you have a craving for some rolls and are on a budget.
google avatar

Ally F.

Yelp
I cycle between the Wasabi roll, the Spider roll, the Rainbow roll, and the Vegas roll, and they are all phenomenal. I'm more traditional with sushi, so I don't go for the burritos or donuts. If I'm feeling like something filling, the blackened tuna bowl is great. This is our go to sushi spot, and we frequent weekly for the quality and price. The staff is kind.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
My wife's a bit of a dreamer; always chasing rainbow rolls ... which we found at Wasabi Sushi. The service was fast while the team was friendly. Sadly, the rainbow roll wasn't the most glorious ... or really very tasty. In fact, if Skittles allow you to taste the rainbow, then this sushi roll with Salmon, Shrimp, and Tuna was the opposite of that. We also tried the Calamari Skewers which were surprisingly even less interesting to eat than the rainbow roll. Still, it was fun to eat squid on sticks. Maybe the reason the restaurant is named Wasabi Sushi is because you need lots of wasabi for zest to kick the tastebuds. My spouse and I may wish the world was all sushi and rainbow rolls, but don't chase Wasabi Sushi too hard unless it is convenient and you want something simply a-ok and fast from friendly people.
google avatar

Kristin A.

Yelp
Everything was great! We had the Kaz's chicken, red dragon roll, poke bowl, and flaming hot cheeto sushi doughnut. Looking forward to coming back to try more menu items!

Jen S.

Yelp
Fast, fresh food for great prices wonderful service. We go here very regularly and are never disappointed.

Ron M.

Yelp
The salmon on top was thinner than a grain of rice and some of it was off color, and even that thin you could taste the age of it. The other rolls werent bad. The price wasnt horrible but a bit high for what I got.
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
I originally went in for sushi but I saw that they had ramen and it was a perfect cold day for that. Not only was the person at the cash register sweet but their ramen was amazing. Don't be fooled by the small bowl, it's packed with all the goods and there are tons of noodles. Cute trendy area and you can sit inside or outside.
google avatar

Maddie T.

Yelp
SUSHI DONUTS OMG I was drooling over their online photos and they looked just as good in person! so yummy and fun to eat. will definitely order here again!
google avatar

Dina E.

Yelp
I ordered delivery - just an eel cucumber avocado roll and an ocean bowl (spicy tuna, salmon, crab salad, avocado, rice and a mayoesque sauce). The bowl was great - fresh and a nice sized portion. The eel roll was a bit sad...mostly skin and not much eel sauce, but fresh nonetheless. I would order again! Just not the eel roll.
google avatar

Terasa G.

Yelp
This little place is So damn good! I've been coming here for years. Huge menu and Everything is Made to order with super fast, super friendly service.

Yelp
Great service, yummy presentable sushi. Love the Boston salmon roll so much! Definitely a returning customer.

Yelp
On our way to the Lucky Lab for pints and we saw Wasabi Sushi next door and decided we would prefer sushi for dinner. Full disclosure, I'm not a sushi fan, but the friend I was with is. I'm a huge fan of Bamboo Sushi and know their menu well, know what I love, what I crave. Here, I was a fish out of water, pun totally intended! The rolls were different combos and I'm super picky about raw fish. For example, not a fan of raw salmon and there is a lot of this on the menu. Love cooked crab, but don't like the immitation crab, which they had. Don't want cream cheese in my roll; lots of theirs had this. You get the picture! With lots and lots of help from the very sweet and patient young lady at the cash register, I went for the Spider Crunch Roll which gets its name from the real soft shell crab, deep fried, with some of the legs are sticking out of the roll. Combined with avocado, cucumber and crunchy lettuce, it was very good. My friend choose the Spicy Dragon which had spicy tuna, avocado and cucumber with a sweet eel sauce. She loved it. The rolls come in ten pieces so they were substantial. My only complaint is that they were not rolled tight enough. The pieces were two-bite slices rather than one-bite, and when you picked it up with the chopsticks, it fell apart making it difficult to eat that 2nd bite. Other than that, happy to have found this fairly new sushi place close to my home and in an area of SE Portland that I frequent.
google avatar

Melodie L.

Yelp
Looked on yelp for a sushi spot nearby and wasabi sushi came up. Ordered the sushi donut which I never had before. Literally a donut shaped rice ball with tuna avocado and salmon on top. Pretty to look at but pretty basic tasting. A drizzle of sauce on top would have been nice Dragon roll and cali crunchy were good / tasted how it was suppose to taste Seating is limited and it took a minute for the food Bc it was busy but overall ok
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
I've been riding my bike past this place for a few weeks now, not knowing it was a sushi joint... well, the mood struck for sushi, so my wife and I hopped onto Yelp to see what was close to us. Wasabi Sushi was one of the first entries, and we both thought "why not try it out?". We were not disappointed! Obviously, when it comes to sushi, freshness is of the utmost importance. The rolls we had at Wasabi were some of the freshest I've ever tasted! I mean, you can see it in the photo I posted. The fish just looks good! Each of the rolls we tried (Red Dragon, Hawaiian Dragon, and Wasabi) were incredible in their own right. Usually after sushi, I'll state which roll I liked the best. Not here. They were all equally good, but for different reasons! They've got a couple of non-traditional items on their menu that I'm going to have to try on the next visit. The sushi burrito, and sushi burgers (!). The people here are fantastic, and they know what they're doing... if you're in inner Southeast, and looking for sushi, definitely check this place out!
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
I've ordered from here a few times and loved it. It came quick, it was yummy, and everything was correct. Today it took a little longer which is fine, that didn't bother me too much. When the food came, we unpacked everything and saw they didn't provide chopsticks or soy sauce. So we had to eat the food with our hands and we couldn't use the wasabi to mix with the soy sauce. The miso soup I ordered was bland and looked different than the previous ones I've ordered. One of our sushi rolls was also cold which made it not very enjoyable! I don't think I'll order from here again sadly when there's other places out there.
google avatar

Kurt P.

Yelp
Ordered dinner from here last night and walked down to pick it up from Goat Blocks. It took them a little longer than estimated to complete the order, but no big deal. It was nice to be able to order directly through Yelp. Their menu is a little different - don't see sushi donuts and burgers very often! We had to try one of the donuts - it's just a roll in a donut shape. All of our dishes were wonderful, and we thought the prices were pretty reasonable. We had dinner for three for $40. Their rolls show 10 pcs/serving for most of them, but the pieces are quite small. Nonetheless, you get a lot of food for $9 for the premium rolls, and $5 for the everyday items. Unless you are a big sushi eater, one of these rolls will fill you up. The setting is just a "garage" door front alongside several other businesses on busy Madison. The road is a bit noisy if you eat there. Returned for the sushi burger. Great flavor but the "bun" made from rice kinda falls apart if you set it down.
google avatar

Caitlin J.

Yelp
fuckin love this place. Nicest staff, yummiest food right in the heart of inner SE
google avatar

Poppy L.

Yelp
Love the paper takeout boxes. Tasty generous special rolls. Friendly staff. Fast service. Looking forward to exploring the menu more.
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
Nice, friendly and polite counter girl met me. I asked about vegetarian options that were rich and flavorful with a lot of veggies. I was cold and explained I didn't want a lot of noodles but more broth and veg because I normally shy away from lots of wheat. She said they could tailor my ramen because each order is made from scratch. Based on this, I ordered a soup (ramen) bowl. It came out with tons of bamboo and barely any spinach or seaweed and no onion. It had TONS of noodles which most people that eat wheat would appreciate but I asked for a tiny bit. I requested a bit more spinach and nori. Even after adding those, ginger and a bit of soy sauce the broth was so bland and flavorless I couldn't eat it. Literally tasted like nothing! Definitely NOT rich and flavorful!!! I would choose elsewhere for ramen!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun flavors and good price points, they could make seating more welcoming and cleaner.

Yelp
So far so good. I've eaten in once and ordered through Uber Eats probably at least 10 times in the last year. I have gotten the sushi burrito the one with the dusted with what looks like Panko crumbs and cabbage is amazing and the portion is enough to last well over two meals. Then I normally order their California rolls, very basically built but great price and so tasty! Pro tip: these don't have Philly cheese like some cali rolls do so just add some on at home if you like that. Each box comes with wasabi and ginger and they have chopsticks and soy packets thrown in normally. Text your driver to make sure to throw some in. A third roll I get is the Vegas roll- deep fried and spicy with jalapeño and cream cheese and salmon. I've also tried the avocado eel roll it's and interesting combo of flavors and very pretty. I realize eel might not be my thing but don't be afraid to try it. Last but not least they also have rice bowls with poke or chicken. I've gotten their orange and sesame chicken bowls and it comes with a ton of rice yum. In addition they have sushi donuts and burger !? Check out the website I can't really figure out what they are -- but no where else have I seen that. Ambiance is modern and chill with hard workers and a lot of people there for pickup. Parking is difficult for this location unless you get lucky with a spot, so park a few blocks away in the neighborhoods or if you are getting your car done at the mechanics around the corner that's an option too. Enjoy! Think I'll order me a bowl right now, actually :)
google avatar

Yelp
I've always wanted to try a sushi burrito & let me tell you what this place totally knocked it out of the park!! The miso was super fresh and delicious as well. They have full dishes of wasabi and ginger at each table so if u love ginger and wasabi so much u don't have to bug the server over and over & thE wasabi I is SPICY 10/10

Yelp
Amazing!! I went with my son (who loves sushi and tiktok) and everything was absolutely amazing. I was worried that I would be disappointed because they do have gimmicky food and I've seen a lot of places that waste all the potential on tiktok-y things but I was so blown away! We ordered a Philly roll, avocado dragon roll, and the seared salmon sushi donut. I've never had sweet potato in sushi but I'm vegetarian and wanted to try new things and was very happy with it! The sushi donut was a little confusing to eat but my son referred to it as "bussin" so that's the highest of compliments. For non-sushi, I ordered the ramen but asked for it to be made vegetarian and they were so happy to do it! It was absolutely incredible and I loved it so much I ordered another bowl to go!!!! So excited to eat it when I'm not so full after the delicious meal. For dessert we got vanilla mochi and the fried banana roll. We were so blown away by the entire meal and I was SHOCKED at how low the bill was. The best part though was how nice and friendly the staff was. They were SO sweet and truly amazing! Everyone was so lovely and we're so excited to come back strictly because of how well we were treated. Thank you so much!!
