The Washington Duke Inn was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, and we travel a lot and have stayed in some high-end places. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel building is beautiful. Even though there are gorgeous antiques and lots of wood provided in the public areas, everything seems bright and clean. Such attention to detail: While waiting for entry to the restaurant, the staff was spray cleaning the menu covers. The restaurant was elegant and food delicious. The room was well decorated and amenity-filled, with robes and turn-down service complete with chocolates and a card providing a weather report and time of sunset/sunrise. Two new bottles of water a day. One thing that impressed me was the hallways. Most hotels with rooms off the hallways have a depressing edge, but these hallways were well-lighted and the carpet so colorful and in such great shape that walking the hall was a delight. Service so accommodating. Even the pool area was gorgeous. I want to thank the management and staff of this hotel for provided a truly wonderful guest experience and setting the bar so high.

Great stay for my husband and I - and his father over Duke's winter graduation weekend. It's a lovely hotel, ample parking, really nice dining options and in a great location. We enjoyed a nitecap at the Bull Durham bar (great espresso martini) and had a nice breakfast in the hotel dining room. My father in law loved the indoor pool. We would happily stay there again!

We’ve been enjoying the WD for 25 years and have never had a single disappointment. Special occasion? An upgrade given. Food, and especially the morning buffet? DELICIOUS! Fine dining, for certain. Staff……….courteous and attentive. Cleanliness never an issue there. Visit……you won’t be disappointed!

Here for a wedding but extended through Thanksgiving. Hotel is very clean. Rooms are quite spacious. Beds are very comfortable. A few update needed, some bathroom fixture is coming off the mall, broken window fixtures, but overall high value. Connecting rooms for a family of 5 with no issues, appreciated that. In room dining was convenient, on time and tasted great.

Google
Nice 4 star hotel but the building and decor are a bit dated. The rooms weren't bad but the property needs a face lift. The gym had enough to get a good workout in but did not have a lot of machines. The property is on the Duke campus so the whole area is very nice and it's walkable to a few restaurants. There is a golf course on the property as well.

Google
The location was cozy and fancy the design and layout where warm and inviting. I enjoyed that they replenished the waters and prepared the room for sleep when I returned in the evening. Check in was so fast and easy and the concierge was helpful in notifying us about there shuttle service because we where heading to a wedding at the chapel and was too cold to walk.

Google
Wonderful overnight experience with my husband. Relaxed in hot tub, drinks in the Bull Durham, and dinner with friends. Enjoyed spacious suite, comfortable bed, and relaxing vibe of the Inn! Access to beautiful walking trail, golf, delicious food, beautiful outdoor patio/grounds, and very hospitable staff.

Google
This hotel is amazing. The proximity to campus can't be beat and it has a great atmosphere. We ordered room service and ate at the restaurant while staying there. Everything was delicious. Also, it is very allergy friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the in-room coffee maker was next level!

Helen X.

Yelp
Stayed at the hotel and it had a lovely southern charm to it. The room was very spacious, decor was beautiful, and everything was very clean. I would absolutely recommend anyone travelling through the area to stay here. The Bull Durham bar was also fabulous! I arrived late night, so only part of the menu was available. The weeknight was surprisingly very busy, but the service and atmosphere were great. Ordered the flatbread and it was a generous portion.

Yelp
One of the nicer 4-star options in Durham, and if you want to stay on campus, this is your place. Very old school, but well-kept. Staff friendly. Golf course, great bar with awesome food, a nicer restaurant (which we haven't tried yet). They also do an afternoon tea that we plan to try at some point. Parking is free! (ikr?) Prices can vary depending on what's happening. They have convention facilities as well. Note: if you know you're going to be staying frequently, check out their member program. We spent a recent Saturday night and our room was clean and comfortable. We made the mistake of not putting out the do not disturb, and housekeeping knocked for turn down service which we didn't need, then knocked again fairly early Sunday morning. They were vacuuming early around us as well. We definitely weren't going to sleep in.

Yelp
Very very nice hotel if you like old fashioned and old world places. Staff are very very nice. On site golf, bar and restaurant. Ample lighting. Room photos coming one of these days =.

Yelp
This was the second time that we went, and the first time since they renovated. It is classically beautiful and the food was delicious. I definitely will go back. My friends had us sit at their favorite table, and it was quiet and spacious. The staff was attentive. Good choices of food, including a variety of food at different price points.

Victoria N.

Yelp
We came here for my boyfriend's family's annual Christmas party. And I had a good time. Shoutout to Sebastian for taking good care of us. He was hard-working and was great throughout the night. The food was alright but they made great cocktails. I had the grilled salmon and it was nothing to write home about. But the burgers appeared to be a favorite by most in the group. The room was clean, cozy, and very classy looking. The bed was comfy but the comforter was so heavy so I felt smothered under it.

Earl S.

Yelp
I had a great stay for the Social Mission Alliance conference. The mattress on one of the beds in my room could be replaced and I do love the open parking they have and not just valet. The hotel is also very much a museum as well as a hotel, golf club, and conference center. The room service is great as well. I had a very pleasant experience. The decor of the hotel is one of the Gilded Age.

Kevin M.

Yelp
I stayed one night on a business trip. I was thoroughly impressed! The staff was friendly and accommodating. I ate at the restaurant right next to the lobby. Impressive. The service was great and the food was tasty. They also made a very good Old Fashioned! As you can imagine, the room and property was impeccable. I'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Spent a night here as a little staycation just to check the place out. Definitely not a Duke fan, but I kept an open mind. I got one of the regular rooms with a golf course view. (You have a choice of golf or front view; the day I stayed, there was no price difference. Therefore, I would recommend the golf view; the front view would be mostly parking lot.) The room was comfortable. It felt larger than its advertised 300 square feet and had plenty of space. The bathroom was a good size with a large shower. The rooms also have empty mini-fridges so you can store your own stuff there. The decor is definitely old-school; they are going for that classic ivory tower, clubby vibe and they've hit it. The service was good throughout. It wasn't terribly busy on a summer weekend, so there was no wait for anything. I don't know how it would be during the school year when there was an event attracting a full house. I had brunch at the Fairview (a very nice quesadilla with turkey sausage) and then drinks and dinner at the Bull Durham lounge. Splurged on the NY Strip there; I ordered medium-rare and it was just a little underdone for me, but still well-seasoned and a very nice cut. There's a very nice walking trail that loops around the golf course. It's quite a long hike, so you can definitely get your walking in, but the trail is well-marked and goes through some beautiful wooded areas and gives nice views of the rolling hills of the course. There's also a huge parking area in the front, so no worries about finding a space for your vehicle. My only real disappointment was the indoor pool. I trekked down there only to be confronted with a sign on the door saying "Pool Closed" with no further information.

Carol C.

Yelp
Wonderful food, exceptional staff. We ate outdoors and it was very picturesque. Staff was attentive and accommodating to our accessibility needs. Parking was easy as was accessing the hotel and dining. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
In 2010 I would have given WaDuke 4 stars but in a post pandemic 2022 world it's down to 3 stars... The WaDuke is a revered in Durham and by Dukies. For years, it was for good reason as the WaDuke was the best hotel around, with attentive staff, and very good restaurants. I've stayed several dozen nights over the years and think of the WaDuke with nostalgia. Sadly, it's showing it's age. The furniture is comfortable but doesn't seem like it's changed in 20+ years -- like your grandmothers house. Over the last few years, I've had rooms with a broken shower knob, stained robe, burned out bulbs, etc. These things happen in the hotel business and always get fixed promptly -- people are very nice about it but it never happened "back in the day." Try to get a golf course view -- your alternative is probably a parking lot view. I tend to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant (see my separate review) and I'm rarely disappointed. The food is good and occasionally even very good. The small store has those needed essentials you might have forgotten. When it's not opened, ask the front desk and they'll open it for you. Marcus, the hotel manager (?), is very attentive and focuses on solving problems and helping guests. WaDuke will still be my go-to hotel when I'm in Durham. I just want them to kick it up a notch.

Yelp
Southern breakfast at The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. Beautiful dish. Eggs were a really odd texture.

Linda S.

Yelp
Classic as always but service a little disappointing. No one at front desk for quite awhile then placed at s table vs. banquet when clearly available & we had a reservation. Not offered a black napkin, traditional with a black dress. No linen in the dining room on a Friday evening. The pianist was very lovely as usual!! The Brussel sprouts were a large quantity & tasty. Nice salmon & short rib rigatoni but clearly menu & some of the surroundings need updating. It's classic southern dining but could still update menu & improve service. Had to ask for bread & to go cartons. A tad disappointed.

Yelp
I love the WaDuke. It is so close and practical to go walk to Duke's campus. The staff is always super friendly and helpful (from the Vista breakfast restaurant), to the room service. It's always 10/10 service. Everyone in the hotel is willing to help you. The Washington Duke Inn is so pleasant it makes the rest of your trip very easy. It's always a relaxing time for me to come back to Durham, stay here and just know my experience will be pleasant. The rooms are clean, the golf course is nice. It's my favorite place!

Brianna B.

Yelp
I often eat at the bar/restaurant, and I have come to fully expect poor service. Staff members are consistently standing around, forgetting the sugar for my tea that I asked for 3x or bringing out my wings without the ranch that I specifically ordered. Latest visit I ordered a salad and sat waiting for almost an hour. It's quite ridiculous considering the beauty of the venue and the high prices. I literally just expect what I've ordered and within the hour. Insane.

Carpe Diem J.

Yelp
We have stayed here twice. Beautiful hotel. Nice sized rooms. As other reviewers have recommended, try to get a golf course view room as opposed to a parking lot view. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is very expensive. The rooms, restaurant, bar...all very pricey. That is our only "negative" for this hotel!

Valerie M.

Yelp
Beautiful inn and grounds. Very good customer service. Rooms are large and comfortable, with great AC (very important for NC summers). Bathrooms are also generously sized. Large TV with lots of choices. The Inn has a little bit of an older feel about it, so if you are looking for modern, this isn't it! Hotel bar is good, but food options feel limited and uninspired. This could be improved. One major negative is the indoor pool which is not usable at all during warm months (its like walking into a sauna, and the pool is like bathwater). They should really consider an outdoor pool option. Self-parking is an A+ option for a hotel to have, and valet is also an option for a reasonable fee.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Had a great work luncheon here. Even though it was a little overcast and chilly that afternoon the staff members made sure we had hot tea and even brought out complimentary blankets to keep our legs warm. We started off with a soup or salad option and even a vegan option was mentioned but not on the menu which was thoughtful since some in our party were vegan. I ordered the tomato and white bean soup which was a bit over salted but was still very good. The bread they brought out was phenomenal it was so light but so good! I even took a piece home for my husband to try. I ordered the BLT and they let me sub white for wheat and took off the Mayo and added mustard. I had a fruit bowl on the side. The salmon salad was another option and I tried it and it was delicious! I ordered the cheesecake and that was truly amazing and I love cheesecake. The other desserts were good as well. Overall a wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back for future visits.

Fara P.

Yelp
Fantastic venue! We hosted a major event in March, and they ensured our room was perfectly set up with everything we needed. Everyone had an amazing time! We'll definitely host more events there. Exceptional customer service! Thank you for the awesome experience!

Jenny D.

Yelp
Hand-stuffed blue cheese olives in my martini. Full stop. OMG delicious!! Great appetizers. Cool vibe indoors as a clubby club and outdoors with a gorgeous view. Go here! You won't be sorry!

Ellen E.

Yelp
Great place to stay on Duke property. A little pricy. They have a free shuttle to take hotel guests around the campus. Rooms are decorated nicely and have good amenities. Breakfast buffet offers a lot of variety. I found the bar food average.

Chloe C.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Duke parent weekend. What an awesome property! SO COMFORTABLE. Room has a kettle, which I love and appreciate!!!! Charming, awesome front desk team. We were granted an early check in, so I could take video call. And, when our return flight was delayed, we were able to pay for 1/2 a day and stay in the room until we needed to leave for the airport. Adored the fabulous 3 mile loop "Al Buehler" hiking trail right outside. We had a gorgeous view of the golf course and watched a deer family walk across the lawn as dawn was coming up. Easy walk across the street to Duke. 10 minute drive to to downtown Durham. We can't wait to stay here next time I come to Duke.

Hyunny L.

Yelp
The hotel room is comfortable, not so clean but not too bad either. Just corners were not cleaned well and a couple of used tissues with some blood stain were shoved back in the tissue box. The restaurant on the first floor has nice view to the golf course, and sitting outside was very relaxing. I had shrimp and grits. Shrimps were good and the food was just ok, not so tasty tho. Found a bug in the grits. I was too hungry and ate all except the bug. I would have been more disappointed if I had to pay for the hotel but it was paid by my job.

Lesley L.

Yelp
I've never stayed overnight here, but have eaten numerous meals at the Fairview Dining Room and the Bull Durham Bar, always excellent. My last visit was last week, not to eat or sleep, but for Covid testing. Convenient location for Duke surveillance testing.

Julie T.

Yelp
Love love staying here. Lovely rooms - get a golf course view. Super clean, comfortable beds. Great staff throughout. Love to sit in the patio to just relax, have a drink or lunch. Wait staff is great. Our son graduated from the UNC MBA program and is now moving from the area. This has been our favorite place to stay while visiting. Hope to have an excuse to return !!

Linda G.

Yelp
I had an amazing time celebrating my 58th birthday here. The service was impressive and our food was delicious. The golf course is kept in top shape and the Inn was very regal. I will remember this birthday being the best day and night.

Vivian C.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here. The restaurant does amazing shrimp and grits. It is also family friendly, with a pool. The little ones can also wander around the massive complex indoor, which is wonderful during the winter.

Anjan T.

Yelp
My 4 month old son fell due to this defective crib and hurt his head and the management did not care. They did not even apologize. It was 1230 am. They do not care that their negligence hurt a child!!

Mookie W.

Yelp
Broken iron asked for a new one that was duck taped together? Worst part - the water inside it was brown sludge and ruined my shirt. The faucet in my room is leaking and absolutely hate when the only coffee they leave is DECAF. The tub hardly drains - totally grossed me out to stand in in this thing - Not happy!!!!

Andrea H.

Yelp
Very traditional restaurant and bar, loved it! If you are looking for an old world, New England type restaurant and bar this is the place. It's the kind of traditional place you take your parents/grandparents when they are in town to visit. The restaurant had a nice selection of choices. I had the pork chop (see pic) and he had the steak and the portions were large. It came with a side item so you didn't have the spend another $7 on a potato. We each had a cocktail that was strong and tasted good. The server was attentive and gave us this tiny steak piece with a tiny fork complimentary. Will be back!

Sweta S.

Yelp
This is a review of the dinner. I shared the Angus steak with mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts with my mother. The food was decadent, and steak was humongous. The medium rare steak was brimming over with juices from the meat and tasted heavenly. If you have a special occasion or plan on meeting some friends for drinks after work, this place is superb for both purposes! They have a section that requires no reservations and another that does. Keep in mind, the food is a bit pricey when deciding to come here.

Heather H.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Absolutely stunning. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. My room was very clean. I really liked being on the golf course. It is centrally located in the Duke area.. I wasn't a big fan of the restaurant but overall it was a great experience.

Matthew M.

Yelp
I wish I could leave no stars. The room was filthy and it seemed worse after housekeeping cleaned. We became horrendously I'll after being served cold & questionably prepared food at the reception catered by the hotel. It was a simple dish of filet, sea bass and mashed potatoes. The interior of my filet was grey and cold, my wife's bloody and cold. We checked out early in the morning after the reception with little sleep. Nobody was on staff to check us out at that hour and I was unable to question the bill which was significantly higher than it should have been because they didn't give me the group rate as a guest of the wedding. I had to choose between staying to get answers about my bill or making it to the airport on time. Needless to say, I flew home. When I was able to speak to staff at four o'clock that evening about my bill, I was told that I wasn't given the group rate and they could do nothing to remediate the issue. This was quite an expensive hotel, and I'm sure it affords pleanty of people fantastic experiences. However, mine was horrendous. They offer the facade of prestige and luxury with little substance. Further, they tarnished a once in a lifetime experience for a couple getting married with careless service and poor management. I was a guest at a wedding party. I didn't feel free to complain as vigorously as I would have, out of difference and respect for the bride's family whom, in addition to being genuinely kind people, expended a great deal of capital creating an experience for their daughter and son-in-law. That being said, neither myself, my family, nor my associates will ever stay here again. I would suggest that potential guest be objective and not buy into the name hype. Unless ofcourse, keeping up appearances is something you aspire to. A better, more authentic experience can be had elsewhere. Regards, Matthew David Mongan, esq.

Yelp
I originally wrote a not so great review after a bad experience however, Washington Duke Inn reached out and genuinely addresses my experience. I stayed a second time in November and I will say that my opinion has completely changed. If you're not from Raleigh and in town for business on the Duke campus, I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff are very polite. There are a couple different dining options which is helpful after a long day and/or not having a vehicle and reluctant to Uber out for meals. Since the nature of my trips to Raleigh are purely business related I'm usually too tired to venture out for dinner, especially since I usually have an early start at Duke Health. The complimentary shuttle to campus is very convenient as well!

Tim N Kel D.

Yelp
If you are headed it a basketball game at Cameron, this is a great spot. You can't ask for a more convenient location. It is nicely appointed and feels stately. As much as I want to race about it, our room didn't have hot water. They did move us to another room, which was appreciated but the new room had ants. We had ants in our bathroom bags and in our snacks. It was a little disappointing for the price point but again the convenience factor made it ok.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Upscale hotel on Duke University's golf course. The golf course is beautiful and challenging. The service at this hotel is top of the line, chocolates on the pillow and turn down serve. Take in the afternoon tea, so many choices of superb tea and the homemade scones are a must. The grounds are filled with nature trails perfect for hiking and running. Quick walk across the street to the historical Duke University. Only downfall is the old decor, time for a update.

Christine S.

Yelp
What impressed me most about this hotel was how immaculately it is kept and how you are treated. The room and its furniture were spotless. I've stayed in big brand luxury hotels and famous landmark hotels but even those places had stained linens and robes, dust, mucked walls, or chipped tile in the bathrooms. Our room did not have one imperfection! The sheets, towels, and bathrobes were clean and spotless, and everything else from the fixtures to the furniture was nick and spot free. If you head outside, the patio furniture scattered around the hotel for lounging is dust free! I had yet to stay at a hotel or resort where I didn't have to worry about dirt stains when sitting on lounge furniture! The same can be said for the common areas in the interior of the hotel: spotless. The staff are so friendly and always greet you with a warm and authentic smile. This is either that southern charm I've heard so much about or its just another reflection of how great an establishment this is. We stayed in a room with golf course views but you can't step two feet in this hotel without being awed by the beautiful grounds. It's a quiet, relaxing hotel that was the perfect place for us to stay to attend a wedding that was being held literally across the street at the Duke University Chapel. My husband and my only qualm, and it is a small one, with our stay were the pillows for the bed in the room. They were really small in width and length and we prefer horizontally long pillows to rest our heads on so it was a little tricky to get comfortable for our nights rest. Otherwise, we love this place and would stay here again. Great service, a bar and two restaurants on site, a gorgeous golf course (which my husband thoroughly enjoyed), and great accomodations make this a perfect choice if you're in town. I wouldn't consider anywhere else.

Yelp
Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is an upscale hotel in Durham that is located on Duke University's golf course. It's an old but elegant hotel and puts a major emphasis on service. It's a good location if you're wanting to stay at an upscale hotel right next to Duke University. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - The entire Durham area is beautiful. Streets are surrounded by tall trees and nature, and nestled on the south end of Duke University you'll find Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. There is plenty of parking in front, and the hotel backs up to the Duke University golf course. There is a sense of history at the Inn. It feels like it's been there for decades (I'm sure it has). But it doesn't feel old, it feels historical. 1 Star. Service - Excellent - what you would expect out of a nice hotel. The doors are maintained by doorman, plenty of bellhops, and when you check in they make sure they answer all your questions and ensure your visit is great. We were greeted multiple times from the staff, and it is pretty obvious they put an emphasis on making your stay a great experience. 1 Star. Facility - While I stated the hotel felt historical, our room was not out dated. In fact, we had a fantastic king room, with a large shower and bathroom. I think the room had been remodeled or updated, as it was more up to date than some of the other photos I saw online. Also, as a huge bonus, the outlets at the nightstands have built in USB ports. No need to plug in a charger, simply plug you phone's cable directly into the wall. While that piece of technology was great, the TV took up to 30 seconds to turn on. In fact, the remote even had a note taped to it to expect the TV to take a while. The rest of the hotel has some additional features like an indoor pool (didn't use it), restaurants (didn't eat), and nice sitting areas. Elevators are slow so have patience - although there are only 5 floors so you should be ok. 1 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Probably. It's a great hotel\Inn, but it comes at a premium. I'll have to weigh my options to determine if I want to pay. I'm not saying it's not worth it, it is. I'll just have to decide if every visit to Durham is worth it. 1/2 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Yelp
We had Thanksgiving this year at the Fairview Dining room. It was the most amazing meal we've ever had. From the champagne, 4 course meal, amazing desserts, and turkey, stuffing, cranberry sandwiches they gave us as a gift for later, it couldn't have been better. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
One of my favorite historic hotels! The rooms have so much character and I love the wooden 4 post bed. There's complimentary shuttle service to Duke and the restaurant here serves an amazing meal! I definitely would stay here again. It's beautiful and I love the architecture. The hotel is lovely and has plenty of intimate seating areas. The Fairview dining room is wonderful for dinner or afternoon tea. I have enjoyed both! I love this place and will be coming back. The dining room is so spectacular.

Kaitlyn A.

Yelp
Love for a cocktail before dinner at the Bull Durham Bar! Also, amazing for any meal of the day at the Washington Duke Inn. We are executive members and the perks are totally worth it! Shout out to the best bartender Tim. Husband and I love to dress up and take part in fine dining, and this is our go too! You can also go to Duke game nights! Super fun. We also did Christmas Eve brunch here-what a delight.

Steph P.

Yelp
The only reason I give this a 2 star is because it's an 8 minute walk to Cameron stadium. First, the staff is rude! The servers in the Fairview dining room, the Bull Durham bar, all rude and unfriendly. They all seem inconvenienced and most of the time we had to ask 2 or 3 times if our food or drinks were on there way. (Waited 30 min for chips and dip). Room 560 - if you try to take a bath don't dare! The shower head drips regardless of if you're bathing or showering, non stop! Called about it, nothing done! For $400 plus a night you would think they would have fixed this at some point! Killed several earwigs crawling on the beds. Like I said, mediocre and convenient! But definitely not worth the price!!

Simal S.

Yelp
Washington Duke Inn is probably the fanciest restaurant in Durham. It is placed in Washington Duke Inn hotel and it has a very pretty decoration. The service is very good and fast. I have tried the Filet Mignon and it was cooked as a perfect medium. They have a variety of options for drinks too. However, I think the best thing to do is to go to WaDuke for tea time. As a tea maniac, I think that they have amazing options for tea and they bring a delicious patisserie plate with different cakes and cookies.

Tom R.

Yelp
Some hotels do it all correctly, the Washington Duke Inn is one of those establishments. From the valet service to the front desk, including guest services & the staff at the restaurant, all 5 star IMO. Our menu selections of Szechuan Wings, Chesapeake Lump Crabcakes, Joyce Farms Chicken Breast & a dessert of Lemon Cheesecake were all delicious! The room was well appointed & luxurious. The king bed was super comfortable. Well worth the cost.

Yelp
We held our wedding here last weekend and our guests stayed here. The WaDu did not disappoint - the service was lovely, the food delicious, and Diane's team coordinated our needs and set up like a well-oiled machine. We had our ceremony out on the terrace and this was followed by brunch outside in the same place. Thank you for making our big day special and providing us the gracious backdrop and event we were looking for.

Yelp
People are so kind. It's old world stately and stunning views of a golf course. Client service is great. Heating is great. Bar is fun to socialize, watch games, or work! The rooms and bathrooms have big down comforters and mahogany wood. You will love it. Thank you!

Yelp
Went To A Lecture Here and was impressed with the Staff and How Nice This Facility Is. Even the Bathrooms are Classy...Definitely would suggest it if you are looking for a Conference Space.

Yelp
Had brunch at the Fairview Dining room today. Excellent food and atmosphere! It's a Christmas tradition to indulge in a meal at WaDu and this morning didn't disappoint

Yelp
Great food and top-notch service at the Fairview Dining Room. I came here with a large group for restaurant week, and ordered a steak salad (note: for those on ketogenic or low-carb diets, this is a great option!). The steak was cooked perfectly, and the salad was delicious and topped with bacon bits.

Yelp
Mediocre all the way around. If you want fancy dining there's a lot of other places in downtown Durham now, and all over the area. Heavy tables need heavy iron foundations that aren't nice to put your foot on. Our appetizers were good but I think all the main courses were pretty uninteresting. My grouper entrée was absurdly salty. Like, beyond belief. Overall it is as one would imagine, a fancy restaurant for fools who can be tricked into thinking it's a fancy restaurant since it's next to a golf club. The Trump Set.
