"Wash Park, as locals call it, is the Mile High City’s pint-sized answer to New York’s Central Park. Long and skinny, the park has multiple trail options for joggers and bikers, a croquet court, and a large playground for the kids. West of the playground, a beautifully tended flower garden lined with winding paths is one of the most calming spots in the city. On weekends, the park’s grassy areas fill up with volleyball nets and camping chairs. Alternatively, take a pedal boat out on Smith Lake or just sit down on a park bench with a good book. You’ll be able to look up and take in the mountains to the west." - MATADOR_NETWORK

This is a nice park in the downtown. It has a play area for kids. Has musical fountain. Beautiful views of Cincinnati music hall. It’s a big park, perfect for kids. Nice walking path all around. Lot of greenery as well.

Derek

Google
Washington Park is a lot of fun. They have something for almost everyone. If you want a drink, there is a walk-up bar. If you want some food, they have food trucks parked along the outside of the park. If you want to read a book, you can sit alongside (and even inside) the gazebo. There are water features to cook down your dog on a hot day. Maybe most importantly, the bathrooms are clean and functional. Great spot for everyone in the community and the Connector runs right by and has a stop that lets you off right at the heart of it all. Cool spot.

Drew Hinners

Google
Wonderful urban Park with a vibrant history. The surrounding shops (including Findlay market) and restaurants make it super easy to have a picnic here. The dog park is also top notch with an amazing water feature running through it for the dogs to play and cool off in. The outdoor bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. An outdoor jungle gym and splash pad round out the offerings. With a little something for everyone, Washington Park is a real gem.

Google
This park is awesome. So much to do on the playground for all ages. There’s a castle with slides and hiding places, large astroturf wobble board-like structures, a sandbox, and so much more. The vibes are good — friendly parents and kids, very diverse families and very clean!

Peter Schmidt

Google
Very nice and clean park with a fun little playground. The gardeners were changing the flowers for the season and the old flowers were available for residents to take home for their own gardens, which was nice.

Skye Mer

Google
It's soooo beautiful and when the winter comes and they put the lights up it's just amazing. I also enjoy the party deck in the park and the events that goes on as well.

Nathanael Amoyaw Asamoah

Google
Washington park in winter did not have the same shine as it would have in summer like most parks. However it was very relaxing and I had a good time with the family at the place. The kids enjoyed it and it is a good place to hang out with family. Walking around the park served up some of it's interesting history on the tiny facts plaques they had positioned around the place. Most of the attractions and stalls were closed but I hope to visit it in the summer.

Aaron Lecciones

Google
Easy place to park within proximity to the Cincinnati Music Hall and with access to the trams that go to the riverside. The restrooms are tucked away in the children’s part of the park. It’s an open field with shade at the corners and benches throughout. Fortunately, it was well maintained and did not have any encampments which is typical in other cities. Safe and scenic.

Leah S.

Yelp
Love the Nutcracker story coming to life in Washington Park for the winter season. It's totally interactive and really well done. The weather has been just nice enough to make this a really nice destination for the whole family.

John B.

Yelp
It's okay place if you live in the area parking is kind of hard to get but if you live in the area you can walk to it and there's a lot to do there

Scott N.

Yelp
I inadvertently checked into Washington Park Apartments, but that won't keep me from reviewing this beautiful downtown Cincinnati park. Washington Park is right on the Connector line, which makes it convenient to get to. It's also in close proximity to Music Hall, Memorial Hall, plenty of restaurants as well as the Vine Street OTR district. A parking garage below Washington Park (yes you can park under the Park) puts all these things in easy reach. Events are scheduled at the park year round. Add to all of these positives the beauty of the park itself. It's a shining beacon that helps draw people downtown. Love it!

Hank G.

Yelp
Washington Park isn't anything to write home about as parks go. That said, it's still a welcome green area inside the Cincinnati's urban expanse. For the most part, the park is clean and well kept; there are even park benches to sit on scattered throughout. There's a free parking lot for use by visitors; the entrance is on the street that the Music Hall is located on. The commuter train also makes a stop here.

Billy B.

Yelp
A wonderful public space with nice walking pads, a big splash pad for the kids to play in, a industrial playground, music, and bar venue, and a dog park.

Christy C.

Yelp
Beautiful downtown park with free community events all the time. They have something going on every day of the week during the summer, from Jazz on Monday at The Porch, their bar with plenty of covered seating, to Workout on the Green on Wednesdays. Follow them on social media to keep up or just come out for a stroll!

Dianna B.

Yelp
Wow, this park is GORGEOUS. It was the final stop before a beer tasting on our walking tour of Over the Rhine. We learned about the bodies buried there and the headstones that remain. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous, the stage is central and stunning. I'm from Florida and quite jealous of what a city asset this is.

John B.

Yelp
A splendid inner city park which is highly manicured and has a lot to offer. There is a garage beneath (though I wouldn't count on it if you haven't reserved a space), and the streetcar also goes by in both directions. The spectacular looking music hall is across the street, and many eateries are nearby. There are pregame parties for the soccer team, which is a terrible team but nonetheless somehow attracts spirited fans. Music and other events are frequent, but there are also plenty of benches, open green space, and playgrounds. I find it hard to spend a day in Cincinnati without at least passing through.

Sarah E.

Yelp
What a great place to enjoy your day off! Sit and enjoy the weather; bring your kids to play in the water fountains; enjoy one of their many festivals or concerts; watch a movie after dark; grab a drink at the concession stand; reserve space for a wedding or party. Plus they have public bathrooms! Would return

Steve A.

Yelp
Washington Park is one of the bigger parks in Cincinnati. It's just north of downtown. Located in Over The Rhine. Close to Findlay Market. There's often something happening like a festival or a parade. It's not the prettiest in the city. It's still a lot better than it was several years ago. This place used to be overrun with homeless and it wasn't somewhere to bring a family and feel safe. Now it's much safer to wander around. There's all kinds of festivals throughout the year. City Flea is a monthly market. There's also lots to do in the areas around the park. It's close to Findlay Market. There's many restaurants and shops. It's pretty easy to find. It has a parking garage under it. There's also street level parking.

Kathy V.

Yelp
This is a great park right in the middle of the Over the Rhine/Findlay Market area of Cincinnati. I have walked past or through it during every single visit to the city. It sits across the street from the music halls and one of the many theaters in town. The parks hosts monthly markets and hosted a large-scale interactive installation as part of Blink. There are relatively clean restrooms, and a bar in the park, as well as a playground and some places to sit and relax. A great addition to a great part of town!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Whenever there's an event here, I must go. Christmas with Santa, City Flea, Earth Day, Asian Fest. The list goes on and on. This park does a great job attracting vendors and the community. It is always a good time. When there's no events, it's still a wonderful park to add to the rotation. You can grab a drink on the SouthWest Porch (typically $6 drinks), bring your dog to the dog park, push your little one on the swings at the playground, cool off at the fountains or just have a good old fashioned picnic in the grass. It is always well kept and full of our diverse community. The whole family loves it.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Small-ish but beautiful. Also, there's a BAR in the park. We were big fans of that, haha

Sara W.

Yelp
Washington Park is the best! First of all, it is BEAUTIFUL and clean. There is a water park area for kids, a dog park, and plenty of space green space to lay out. One of my favorite things to do is grab lunch downtown and then a beverage at the pavilion. They serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. On the weekends and most week days you can count on Washington Park to have some community event going on-from workout classes, to city flea market, and FC pregame celebrations. So glad we have such an amazing space in the city!

Mesy D.

Yelp
My partner in crime sister from another mother and I attended bourbon and cigar event this summer. We didn't know what to expect. We were so happy that we made it down. We did many tasting and three of the demonstrations and pairings. There were too many samples, we could not even finish our punch card. We were in good company because we saw many people with tastings left on their card. The cost was well worth it. We also received a few gifts to take home The last event was the cigar and bourbon pairing. Oh man I felt like a grown woman. I thoroughly enjoyed this event. My only issue, there should have been more food booths to soak up a little of that bourbon.

Heather L.

Yelp
Nice little park oasis in the heart of the big city. While it isn't the safest or nicest park in Cincy, the special events, which are often free, are the draw for me. I recently came for Tuesday night free yoga in the park. Being an experienced yogi I was impressed with the great flow of the class outside on such a large scale! It was a great, relaxing workout, and wasn't overly crowded. Nearby people were waking dogs, riding bikes, and kids were playing in the fountains. There is parking underneath, which I've never used. I usually look for meter parking or walk from a friend's apartment. Check out their events page for more upcoming free stuff such as movies in the park!

Jayla S.

Yelp
Very fun for the kids ... in the summer there's free water sprouts and the play ground is nice plus there's always grownup activity too like the bar and different events

Autumn M.

Yelp
Beautiful clean and safe park. We went at dusk and felt very safe, there was a cop on the premises. The park has a quaint bar as well. Nice splash pad and park for kid as well.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Washington Park is such a key place to the OTR community. Pre COVID-19 it was such a great place to go for events and activities, but they still have so much to offer. The park is always beautifully landscaped. It is the perfect destination for a picnic with plenty of green space and shade. The sprayground has reopened with limited capacity and someone monitoring how many people are using it, as well as rotating people in. The dog park is a really nice, well kept space. I do not have a dog, but if I did I would definitely use this. The Porch is still open and selling a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. According to their Facebook page they are also having food trucks come on site. When you need a bit of green in middle of the city this is the place to come!

Tyler M.

Yelp
In the time of social distancing, I'm grateful for places that you can safely walk and enjoy the scenery. Washington Park is beautiful, has lots of space, and is a great epicenter to the normally-bustling Over-The-Rhine neighborhood. While there are no events during social distancing, normally the lawn has something going on from Yoga to the City Flea (market). If you're visiting from out of town, definitely don't miss a chance to grab a drink at the deck. The deck has beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks and light snacks available for purchase. It's also (normally) a great place to bring takeout food for a picnic. So while we may not be able to use the park in its full glory until social distancing ends... go for a walk, enjoy the surroundings, and find peace in the fact that, as Cincinnatians, we'll get through this together and enjoy this park in its entirety once this is all over!

Candi B.

Yelp
Living in northern Kentucky, I don't always venture downtown but when I do, Washington Park is usually involved. Whether it be to partake in a park event, take my nieces and nephews to play in the water fountains or using the parking garage below the park, the location is great and the park itself is beautiful. No matter how many times I go, I love to take in the view of Music Hall. You can easily get to plenty of restaurants and bakeries from the park. There is a playground and dog park as well as the previously mentioned water fountains kids can play in. A wonderful addition to Cincinnati.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Love this Park! It is located in Downtown Cincinnati, in the heart of OTR. The park is beautiful, well maintained and always has something going on. Don't let the size trick you, as yes it is small, however it is located in a downtown environment. The park has beautiful greenery, kid zones, dog zones and occasional events on the weeknights and weekends. Our family always takes a visit here when they are in town. It is a great public space to have fun, and ensure everyone is included.

Suzanne B.

Yelp
This place is a gem in the middle of the city! I passed through recently while visiting Cincinnati. On a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon, a friend and I made our way here to get a reprieve from the heat. Not only was the greenspace wonderfully refreshing after being in the concrete jungle, but the park itself had so much to offer. Dog park, splash fountains, playground, and a tent offering beverages to help beat the heat. There was some music playing, the sound of laughter and conversation filled the air, and the din of traffic felt a world away as we sat and enjoyed the wonderful ambiance. Find your way here on your next trip to Cincinnati, and I think you'll be glad that you did!

Georgia O.

Yelp
Beautiful park that I love to go to when I get the chance. I've watched a baseball game on the lawn with the big screen, done yoga, Zumba, and HIIT on the big lawn, gathered for a social Justice march, taken my nephew to the fun water fountains in the summer and the eclectic playground (sand boxes, musical elements, entertaining obstacles). There's always something going on and even if it's a quieter day, it's such a pleasant park to walk through, sit on the grass or benches or by the beautiful bed of flowers, and relax in.

Jenni H.

Yelp
WOW!! The upgrades are A-MAZING. You couldn't get near this park when I was a child. It's beautiful and perfect for everyone in the community. The dog park and the playground are great. I love the refreshment area and the prices aren't bad at all. Very reasonable. What an asset to this community. Good job, Cincy!

Marcus D.

Yelp
A great place to chill out. Atmosphere is nice. Nice bands an concerts during the week . I've been going to Washington park my entire life and it's always been a nice place to go. Buts it's actually gotten even nicer. It's in the city close to all bus lines. Close to all downtown an good eateries.

Brenton C.

Yelp
Great time when they have booths up especially for kids. This was a fantastic day and the vendors were out here until 4

Aj L.

Yelp
Perfect casual park always something going on during the weekend. Love the dog bark and the bar for some drinks.

John B.

Yelp
According to the app, I've checked in over 30 times. I should probably write a review. Being an almost lifelong resident of Cincinnati, I can recall what Washington Park was like in the 80s and 90s, and frankly it was awful. It is great to witness the transformation that has taken place and how quickly the community (and I'm not only talking about hipsters and wealthy downtown retirees) has taken to using the park year round. I recommend subscribing to their email events list on their site: https://washingtonpark.org/ From music, movies, to Shakespeare plays, there is usually something fun for all ages and interests. The garage underneath the park is a little smaller than I expected, so keep this in mind if you are planning on attending an event. I have seen "Garage Full" signs often. There is street and lot parking in the area so budget in five or 10 minutes in case parking spots are lacking. Yes, there are homeless people that take naps in the grassy areas, and occasionally asking for money. The drop in center used to be across the street where the Shakespeare theater is now, but there is no need to be alarmed or dissuaded from coming to the park. It's an awesome public space that I hope will continue to be a unifying force for downtown Cincinnati.

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Ah, Washington Park. I cannot wait till it's consistently warm out so I can enjoy you again. I want to sit and enjoy the nice weather while drinking a beer from your patio. I want to take my roommates's pupper down to play with her doggo friends. I want to watch 80s movies under the stars on your meticulously kept lawn. I want to attend your 8am yoga- WAIT. I was caught up in the moment. I do not yoga. And I do not 8am. Preferences aside, Washington Park is beautiful and an important asset to the constantly growing OTR district. It holds festivals and different events during the summer that cater to all types of interest. Considering what this park and the surrounding Over the Rhine area used to be, WP is the perfect representation of the growth of the area. There is something so incredibly calming about walking through the park with a scoop of Graeter's or a coffee from Collective Espresso. I've experienced all types of organized happenings here; I'm still trying to figure out how to be a part of that Monday night kickball game. The only downside to Washington Park is that it's just as cold as everything else in the winter. That's not the park's fault though; what are you going to do about the Queen City and her weather related mood swings? I cannot wait for the flowers to bloom so I can once again enjoy one of my favorite spots in the city.

Jamie W.

Yelp
Did you know that there are still people buried in Washington Park? They were supposed to be relocated to other graveyards however a few were and most were left behind. There are tombstones but that is not where the people are buried. They are in a grassy area near the older trees in the park. Parking is available on-site. Enter on the street where Music Hall is. A local walking tour took us through part of the park. There happened to be a movie being shown outdoors. It was a chilly night. So, seeing so many in attendance at the movie meant that it was a popular activity. The commuter rail stops by the park. You can park at the park, hop on the train, and grab a meal on the route. Then when you are done, swing back past the park to top off your evening.

Elyse F.

Yelp
Washing Park has so much to offer. An oasis surrounded by a concrete jungle. Various festivals are held here throughout the year. A list of upcoming events may be found on their website. There is a playground for children to play on. Playground is packed on the weekends. At a lot of newer parks, the playgrounds are completely in the sun. I like that Washington Park has shady areas. Lots of space for picnics. Parking is available underneath the park. Rates vary based on what is going on at the time. Do not pay before you were ready to leave. I made the mistake of doing so hours before I was ready to go, and had to pay a second time when I put my ticket in the machine to leave. I have also pulled in when the sign has one price printed for the day, then a different price is being charged when I leave. This happened the last time I was there. The people paying ahead of me said the same thing. Parking can be packed when events are happening at Music Hall, located across the street.

Luke P.

Yelp
Washington Park is an almost perfect example of urban recreational space. They often have events with beer and food trucks. Features: --Well-manicured flower beds --Large enough to spread the crowd out --Interesting, artistically-designed play areas for the kids including water spouts --Stage for concerts and small festivals --Cared-for bathrooms (minus the missing men's stall door) --Fenced in dog park --Seating area with tables --Green space --Large underground parking lot

Andrew B.

Yelp
Washington Park is just awesome overall. Right smack dab in the middle of OTR. It's nice to have a calm place to chill in between battling all the craziness of the OTR area at night. They have the city flea during the warmer months during the year. That flea is awesome (see earlier review). They decorate the park up beautifully for Christmas too. Walking through and underneath all the lights they installed is seriously magical. So yes, a very nice and serene park setting surrounded by the crazy busyness of OTR. Pretty cool.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Love! Love! Love this park. It has everything you could want. When you enter the park you immediately feel part of a little community sharing this beautiful green space. There was a kickball game in the middle of the park and some onlookers enjoyed watching the game on one of the many benches available, scattered around the park. Just past the kickball game were kids and some playful adults running through the fountains that shoot up in the air periodically. Lots of giggling and a fun atmosphere. The feeling of fun turned festive as we entered an area with a gazebo where musicians were playing folk music. Eli's BBQ was serving up some yummy eats and Mt. Caramel is set up selling beer. There were couples and families having picnics in the grass while and artist (easel, canvas and all) painted scenes from the park. There was even a woman walking on stilts chatting with people who walked by. Finally, I also notices a pretty awesome play area for kids that includes a castle-like structure. I was very impressed with Washington Park and will return. This place will be even more accessible when the streetcar in finished. It's picturesque and Cincinnati should be very proud of this beautiful park's ability to gather so many together.

Tara K.

Yelp
I feel so lucky this park exists in my city. Here are some reasons why: 1) My dog is from the suburbs and prefers walking in grass. And aside from the grass, there's a pretty great fenced-in area just for dogs. 2) In the summer especially, there is ALWAYS something going on. Movies, yoga, craft fairs, food festivals, live music, pilates, and on and on and on. 3) It's beautifully lit and directly above a parking garage. (Take note if you're driving here.) 5) So. Much. Green space. 6) It's well maintained. 7) It's next to Music Hall, which is one of the most gorgeous buildings in the city. 8) Grab an ice cream (from the Graeter's) or a popsicle (from Streetpop) and go for a walk around the park. Do it just once on a warm summer night and you'll be hooked. 9) There's a streetcar stop on the edge of the park! I love the park just as much when I'm taking my dog for a walk on the quiet nights as I do when it's bustling with people because of a festival or great weather day. It's just a great space to interact with.

Tim M.

Yelp
Washington Park is a gem for families in OTR and downtown Cincinnati. I love the dancing Fountains the children can play in on a hot day. Adults can enjoy this too. There is a super fun playground with a castle and a little concrete stream that loops around which I just recently discovered. The parents can sit on the surrounding wall while the children play. The stage on the north end of the park is great for concerts with an excellent sound system. I love the old fashion gazebo in the center of the park and the trees that shade the south end of the park. With the outdoor bar area, tables and food trucks a lot of family friendly events are held here. There is moderately priced and convenient parking in the under ground garage and on the surrounding streets. I hope you come and enjoy Washington Park on a regular basis.#yelpcincinnati

Yelp
I love how they have redone this beautiful park! It's truly a gem in the city. Whether you go down for City Flea, Lumenocity, Opera in the Park, Friday Flow, yoga, kickball or just to play in the water with your kids - it's a beauty! With the magnificent Music Hall in the background you Are sure to enjoy an afternoon or evening at Washington Park. Also, the best part is the Peking garage that is right below. It makes it very convenient for anything going on in that area. It's never more than $5 either! Grab lunch and Make this a go-to for place to visit in Cincy! You won't be disappointed!

Teresa T.

Yelp
This was my first time at Washington park. Very nice of ark and o loved the live music!! I will definitely go back for some more live music in the park or other events!

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Washington Park is a cute park with lots of room for everyone. They have a water sprinkling system for kids and tons of grass area for picnics, family time, date day/afternoon, doing work, just relaxing, and more. They also have areas to sit and have tables if you want to sit and work. It's a space for everybody with enough room so people aren't on top of one another. I went for a picnic shoot with Tiff D. The food was provided by Goose & Elder, a restaurant located in Findlay Market and owned by Jose Salazar. They have picnic food options available that are so perfect and fitting for a nice summer day at the park. I had never been to Washington Park before the day of the shoot. I was so amazed at how big the park was. I've drove past it a few times but never really paid attention. It is a clean park and well taken care of. The day we went the weather was perfect and it was not crowded. I heard on the weekends it gets pretty crowded. Overall, I loved the vibe and atmosphere of Washington Park. I will for sure be back with the hubs and kids for a family picnic at the park.

Jessi C.

Yelp
One of my favorite parks in the city for many, many reasons: 1. Location. This park is a great starting point for any days spent wandering the shops, restaurants, and bars in OTR. Also parking under Washington Park is around $5 and safer than street parking. 2. Events! Washington Park always has something going on on the weekends. There's always a different festival, movie showing, concert, or craft fair going on. Lumenocity, City Flea, and Midpoint Music Festival are a few of my favorites, but there are so many things going on here all the time! 3. Love the dog park! It's small, but they have a nice water fountain for the dogs, and the people that bring their pets here take good care of it. 4. Concession stand and free public restrooms. They serve local craft beers, wine, and cocktails on the weekends! This park is very well taken care of, safe, and great for families. Love all of the investments they have put into this park, it is definitely paying off!

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Washington Park...I love you so much! In the past, I hadnt spent a lot of time at the park but it's such a great way to get outside and get some fresh air especially while in a pandemic. A few friends and I met in a social distancing circle and spent hours eating and chatting. I am so thankful for how well the park has been kept up, the many events that are held (hopefully coming back soon) and how there's something for everyone there. Oh and the flowers are stunning. I enjoy visiting right at the start of spring to see all of the beautiful tulips and other flowers there. Thank you so much for bringing and maintaining this wonderful park to Cincinnati. If you haven't been, take a walk or drive there and enjoy it's bliss

Kristina S.

Yelp
Gorgeous park surrounded by art and beautiful buildings. The park is very well kept and they have the Porch which sells beer. There's plenty of park benches and areas for kids to play.

Lainie L.

Yelp
There are so many great events in Washington Park during the summer! I've come to the Summer Cinema several times as well as the Workout on the Green. I particularly like the Summer Cinema line-up this year. The park is always very clean and well-kept. It's a great asset to our city!

Glenn C.

Yelp
Right by music hall and OTR main strip. Nice to see people outside. Saturday early morning Yoga class had over 50 people. Today there was a free arts class for kids and free popcorn and sno cones. Inexpensive parking garage and nice restrooms. Craft beers and pop for sale on weekends. Often there are markets here. Findlay market nearby.

Simone W.

Yelp
One of my favorite parks. Great scenery and many things to do. I highly recommend visiting this park!

Katie H.

Yelp
This park is great for all ages! There's a little man-made stream of water that my ten month old loves to play in. There's also a jungle jim and a bigger water play area that's great for older kids. If you're over twenty-one you'd probably enjoy the bar, the concerts and other events that go on here. My personal favorite is the Cincinnati Flea. I believe it happens once a month. It draws quite a crowd, so parking is usually more expensive and harder to find. But there a tons of local artists selling jewelry, clothing and decor. There are also food trucks so you can grab some grub!

Hannah J.

Yelp
Me & my dog LOVE this park, i love the location, it's great to spend some time in the park & then take a walk across the street and grab a bite to eat. The park is always well kept, and looks beautiful at night with the new lights stringing over the patio. They recently added tables and a bar on the patio with corn hole, chess, etc. They host fun events for example yoga on the lawn, flea markets, and much more. We come down here often, and absolutely love it. Definitely a place to check out if you have children (playground), dogs (dog park) or simply just want to take a walk in the park.

Ivet V.

Yelp
City flea that is all! Awesome local vendors that have variety of things to sell from jewelry to baked goods! ... Also great place to take your pups to play in the fenced in dog park! During city flea they sell ice cream for your lovely dogs! I bought my dog a banana peanut butter ice cream which she loved. Besides city flea the park offers free yoga classes during the week and also movie night in the lawn! Of course best of all you have a great view of the Cincinnati music hall! Which they have an awesome show called lumenocity that is held there every year. Very worth seeing
