Google
Great place to slip a sailboat if you have one. Otherwise, you can rent one, take lessons, picnic, or just enjoy the view of the monuments or the planes land at Reagan Airport. The restaurant is closed. This place is jammed early for Ju4 fireworks.

The Marian truly stands out as a hidden gem, boasting a breathtaking view of the majestic Potomac River and an atmosphere that exudes tranquility. Its serene ambiance instantly puts you at ease. What sets this place apart is the unique opportunity it provides to witness the graceful landing and taking off of planes from the nearby DCA airport, adding a touch of excitement to the experience.

Near Reagan Airport. So you get to see planes arrive & depart. Also visible is a view of D.C., Capitol building and Washington Monument. Nice place to get a shot of nature and relax. I arrived by bicycle. But, parking is free for non- boaters. Boat shop & bathrooms are open.

I have been a member of Washington Sailing Marina now for almost two years and it is a great spot to store your boat/kayak. The people are very friendly and personable and happy to help. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and in a great location in the DC area. The kayak storage prices are reasonable.

A beautiful marina and lots of beautiful boats and yachts right next to the Indigo landing restaurant. We caught a big catfish here. Haven’t been to the restaurant since the pandemic. Their food was pretty good when I visited. Need to visit again.

Google
Great place to spend an afternoon by the water. Food and drinks available or bring your own for a picnic.

Santiago G.

Google
Great place to hang out and see the planes and have a cook out. And chill.

Eric M.

Google
Boat rentals, lessons, and tours are available here. It's also a great location for plane spotting from DCA. Not much motorboating going on here, mostly just sailboats and kayaking. Check out their website for lessons and rentals.

Yelp
This a nice marina run by the park service. They accommodate both sail boats and motorboats. They have a small shop & a seasonal restaurant with a deck. It's a nice place to sit by the water and watch the planes land at DCA.

Yelp
Rented a Hobie cat last year and this year. No problem getting a boat last minute on a weekend. Friendly staff. Well maintained equipment. Life jackets. Easy online booking and waiver process. Wind can be inconsistent and shifty on the Potomac.

Reid D.

Yelp
On a weekend we had no trouble getting boats (a Sunfish and two kayaks) and maneuvering around the lagoon alongside. The more adventurous may want to head down river and watch the planes buzzing overhead. A great new addition is Catboat Pizza Bar, for casual outdoor fare on the deck.

Yelp
I would not trust this Washington selling marina as a safe and reliable. Their instructor Amy, nearly ran my creme colored Schwinn bike and me over with her White pickup truck. Don't take their lessons if you're young; She only made retribution with Buzz bakery cupcakes. Horrible experience in MAY '21.

Yelp
Had a fun paddle boarding lesson last Sunday. It was the first time paddle boarding for the the two of us and within 5 minutes we were standing on the board and paddling. We crossed the small protected bay and checked out a bald eagle searching for brunch along the mud flat at low tide. Instructor was knowledgable and personable. A terrific Sunday morning.

Yelp
This is a low review. I still tipped more than 20%, but only, because they were young and it was hot when I returned. However, these two are workers had nothing but disdain for this slightly older lady, who was not kayaking for her first time (had the waterproof gear and my own equipment). I heard about their challenges and how kayaking was beneath their sailing. And how they were left to work outside when the other guy... a hardworking coworker--their words... had to go to the ER for a bronchial infection and they felt let down. Lessons learned for these young persons: Engage if engaged...my experience was they couldn't be bothered. Disdain and judgement are never cool. And the pier boards that aren't secured aren't okay. Splinters, on the good/bad scale, are ALWAYS BAD. This place is only ok and only because of convenience.

Yelp
The new Daingerfield Island Bar and Grill is a fun place to go and enjoy a good crab cake or quesadilla by the waterfront. Gary does a nice job putting together the food and cooking it just right. Good luck to the team there.

Yelp
Beautiful and peaceful park alongside the potomac on the route from DC to Alexandria. Beautiful views of the river, sailboats floating around, and airplanes landing into Reagan. Seems a really nice spot, complete with a burger and beer cafe (with a big patio overlooking the water), a nice lawn for relaxing, and a kayak rental house. Super peaceful and romantic spot for a date or activity, and of course if you have a sailboat this seems to be a no brainer spot in the metro DC area. Lots of parking and no fee entrance. Will be back a lot!

Yelp
The marina is great, but don't bother with the cafe. We ordered chips and guacamole. The chips were stale, I'm talking bendable here. We asked for fresh chip and it took them 1/2 hour to deliver. How hard can chips and guacamole be?

Yelp
My children had a fun week at sailing camp. The owner, however, promised that we would only be charged for the days my children attended due to all the rain we've been having in July. Sadly, the owner forgot her promise -- even though it was in plain English in an email -- and would not refund us. The program seemed solid but the communication with the parents was disorganized. For example, I signed my 7-year old up in February only to be told on the second day of classes that he had to be 8-years old to be in the camp to begin with. I really wanted to like this program for a long time but the way I was treated makes the whole experience disappointing.

Yelp
I am only speaking regarding the sailboat rentals. I have a card from taking a sailing class that trained me on a Flying Scot. The guy at the front desk (long beard) would not let me rent a Flying Scot, because apparently my card for successfully completing Flying Scot school at the Marina down the road wasn't good enough evidence that I knew how to sail a Flying Scot. Ridiculous. He made me take a written test. The problem with this is it put the planned afternoon with my friends in jeopardy - I had no idea how hard the test would be, and the guy wouldn't tell me anything about it. I passed the test, but it was ridiculous to have me take it. I've rented 20 times from other places without getting so much flak. The people on the docks were very nice, so this criticism only applies to the bearded guy in the office. Also, at low tide the little channel from the docks to the main channel is insanely narrow. At low winds, it is very difficult to get out to the main channel, since it is often a headwind in the narrow channel, so you are likely to be stuck in the lagoon the entire rental time. I wont be returning.

Yelp
I was just going to write a nice note about this camp because of the experience I had a few weeks ago... but now, based on the review below, I'm glad I l did and now feel compelled to chime in re the extraordinary experience we had with this camp. The weather was calling for torrential storms and the director provided the campers/parents with a choice: to attend for the entire week or only come for the last 3 days and receive a refund for the first 2 days... we only had to click on a link in the email to respond. In my experience, this type of accommodation is unheard of! Once you pay, you go or not go but your money stays with the camp. We opted to not attend for the first 2 days and received a refund for those days. I can't say whether she will offer this accommodation for future rainy days, but you can be sure we will be back because of the great time my son had and exceptional service we received!!

Yelp
Complete with cafe, boat and bike rentals, the Washington Sailing Marina is a great place to check out. From the marina you can rent a bike and ride down the bike path paralleling the Potomac. The path goes pretty far and you can even go to the end of the runway at Reagan National Airport and watch the planes take off. I must say, the bikes are pretty crappy! So get there early in the day so you can have your pick of the lot.

Yelp
Clean, friendly and perfect location. Great place for the 4th of July and the annual Leukemia Cup race. Ron and KB keep the place humming all season long. Sailboat rentals are reasonably priced, and the marina self help facility is well appointed. Now if they could just get rid of the derelict boats that haven't moved in 6 years...

Yelp
Beautiful venue - watched Georgetown regatta yesterday - it was a beautiful location with tons of Parking and the perfect day ! A ten !

Yelp
I had a similar experience as the reviewer Tara - my daughter attended the sailing camp for 3 years straight and would like to go for more sessions than we have time for! I have had to call the camp on several occasions to arrange an unscheduled early pick up and the director was super responsive, friendly, and organized - orchestrated getting my child off the water, in dry clothes, bag and water bottle in hand, ready to go - never missed an appointment. I do not have any complaints about parent communication, or getting a refund - i absolutely love this camp and Washington Marina has done a great job of supporting one of the best camps in the DMV.

Yelp
I've had incredible service from the Marina- through a serious of unfortunate events related to weather, travel, and sickness, I've had to reschedule my sailing lessons several times. The staff at the Marina has been incredibly flexible and responsive. I cannot thank them enough for the excellent service and flexibility.

Yelp
Nice place to hangout and relax. Easy to ride your bike here Old people love to come drink beer here in the evening.

Yelp
I had a great experience with Washington Sailing Marina! I recently brought my boat here for a haul out to perform some maintenance. We had some unexpected issues come up with our project, and Jeff, the GM, and Christian, the service manager, really went out of their way to help get us back on track - ordering parts, giving us a ride to West Marine, and rearranging their schedule to give us the extra time we needed on the lift. And all with a reasonable price tag and a friendly attitude. By the way, the boat is a powerboat, which they now accept for service in addition to sailboats! If you're in the DC area I cannot recommend them highly enough for marine services.

Yelp
The mafia of the parks services refused to rent their paddle boards to my group because we were going to do yoga on them. I had to beg the manager to let us just go out and paddle which we ended up not doing because they ruined the day with this BS. What business is it of theirs what we do on these boards we PAY THEM to rent!? And before SUP yoga got popular and they started charging for SUP yoga classes, I'm sure they didn't give a care. Evidently the mafia of the park services dictates the waterways that we pay taxes to support.

Yelp
I have been a patron and slip holder at Washington Sailing Marina for the last several years and can confirm that WSM is a first-class operation. The marina itself is extremely well maintained and offers fantastic views of Washington, DC, and the monuments and the Capitol. Management and the staff are very friendly and capable and always more than willing to go the extra mile for patrons. As an owner of an older sailboat and a slip holder for several years, I particularly value WSM's highly-qualified marina and boatyard staff. It's a great place for an expert haul-out and repair, seasonal boat rentals, and sailing lessons for your kids. Definitely one of Washington's best-kept summer-fun secret locations.

Yelp
Hauled our 33' sailboat here and loaded on a trailer. Ron and his crew were awesome. Professional and competent, and helped us out with every detail. Facilities are nice (except the bathrooms) and convenient to DC.

Yelp
It was worst experience for me. I was there with family ( parents and kids). We all don't know swimming. They gave me boat which had open holes in the back and water starting coming inside boat. I called for help multiple times but nobody responded on time. They all were standing and waiting for me to bring boat back to corner.......... I was lucky that we are fine............
