Yelp
So, so good! Great wait staff and great food. Terrific evening. The desserts (and coffee!) were great too! Looking forward to our next trip to PEI and Water Prince Corner Shop! The lobster and mussels were great. So worth the wait! Make sure to get a reservation!

Yelp
I was in the area and wanted a lobster roll, so hit up my Yelp app and found Water Prince Corner Shop so off we went. We sat outside at the picnic tables and ordered my lobster roll, but for the side I traded for a side salad. The side salad was fresh and so dang good. The lobster roll was one of the best I have had. The lobster was so fresh tasting. The bun toasted and buttered up nicely. This was just what I was craving! Service was great and everyone was friendly. If in the area go give them a try!

Yelp
Water Prince came highly recommended on Yelp and TripAdvisor. We had a table outside and arrived early. By the time we had finished our lunch, there was a wait for a table. This place is your quintessential Prince Edward Island lunch spot. The building is over 200 years old and it was just a lovely little place. Our waitress could not have been more helpful. She shared some insights on the building, the area and on the menu. We opted to split the lobster roll, which was market price. We also split the mussels. The mussels were absolutely phenomenal. The white wine sauce/broth was exceptional. We also really enjoyed the lobster roll, which was served with a delicious potato salad. We had local beers called Beach Chair lager, and they were great. It was really a great experience. We would highly recommend stopping in for some delicious seafood.

Yelp
This lobster joint is on the corner, right when you leave the cruise port. Wow! So close to get to what is quite possibly the best lobster place in town. Everything was generously served, and the quality of the seafood was so fresh! Fresh mussels, fresh lobster, cooked for you on the spot, seafood chowder, and my very first lobster roll. Have to admit, it was my first one, but oh my gosh, what a sandwich! The service was homey and warm, just the nicest people working there! I'd give you recommendations, but I would just recommend everything! Order whatever you want you won't be sorry.

Yelp
The lobster dinner was one of the best we've had on the island. We have had our share of lobster dinners as we are seafood people and so we know great lobster when we find it. The restaurant is not fancy and the waiters are not top end but the food is fantastic. Highly recommend if you're looking for a lobster dinner in Charlottetown.

Yelp
Lobster roll did not disappoint. Tons of lobster meat with little filler. In my top two of favorites in Charlottetown while in town visiting. My husband is not a seafood fan. He had the burger and said it was really good as well. Our server was a delight.

Yelp
A small place, so make reservations. The food is excellent with great service. Had the chowder and lobster, all good!

Yelp
This is a cruise ship destination with lots of touristy shops in the area. We were looking for a good and local seafood meal and were steered here. Yes, we were sitting with lots of other tourists but the place was cozy, the service was friendly and the seafood was delicious. We had lobster rolls that were plentiful and a great value as well as mussels- a huge portion and delicious. If you're there with a cruise ship, get there early or expect to wait.

Yelp
Sure it's a proverbial tourist trap. And sure, you feel a little foolish falling for that. And sure, if you're lucky enough to grab an outside-on-the-sidewalk-table, people (more tourists) marching by will slow, stop and stare at whatever is on your table so be ready for the jealous scrutiny! It really is a tiny hole in the wall that serves big food! Seafood platters, burgers, kid's menu, and beer, wine & cocktails all come out of somewhere magical, back of the house. Go early if you can, otherwise you're outside standing in line waiting for that lobster roll you promised yourself! Have some fried clams too. After all you waited in line long enough so make it worthwhile, you deserve it!

Yelp
My wife has an egg allergy and can't eat mayo. She told the hostess and the server and both said no problem. Orders lobster roll and mayo is on the bun under lobster. She had some bites before noticing. Hostess is walking by and hears us and grabs the plate and says I guess the kitchen messed up, walks away no apology, nothing, couldn't give a rats ass. Waitress was very kind and apologized many times and said she had noted the allergy to kitchen. We both had lobster rolls which were ok but nothing special. We pulled out her epipen but she was ok, just a bot sick.

Yelp
The Water Prince Corner Shop is an old time institution filled with photos of famous patrons and always bustling with full tables. We booked ahead and was seated promptly, but our server was super busy and we waited for a while as she whipped around table to table. We finally got our orders in and spent most of the time taking in all the decor and photos that plasters every inch of the space. We shared some mussels and I had the fishcake with salad. If it had been our fish meal at PEI, we would have been more impressed but we found the food to be average after some spectacular meals around the island. Overall okay but not a must go.
google avatar

Sandee L.

Yelp
When in PEI, you have to have some of their infamous seafood...even when you're stuffing yourself like a sausage on a cruise ship! We had the seafood chowder (salty), malpeque oysters (fresh), PEI clams (very sandy), and lobster roll (small bits of lobster and not much flavor). All average. Honestly, you can skip this place and you won't be missing out.

Yelp
Place is famous. Lines out the door. Not sure why. The place has some nice charm with beautiful decorations. But they sell lobster by the pound and dont give you what you order. Ordered a 1 pound lobster was given 1.5 pound lobster and only found out when paying the bill. I hate bait and switch restaurants. I did however enjoy their local wine list. They had Matos Winery wines available which was great. I'm a fan of their chardonnay and they actually had it here. Mussels were good. I guess anything fresh always tastes good. But there are definitely better places to eat in charlottetown. I probably wouldn't ever come back bc it's just so so.

Yelp
The Water Prince Corner shop has great history and is a cute place. You need a reservation. But my experience was sure disappointing. Our server Charlie sure did not care and the service was bad. I ordered the 1/2 Lobster , mussels and fried scallops dinner with a salad. I had requested the salad before the main meal without onions. The salad came with onions and with the meal - no big deal. Just ticks me off when the server doesn't care !! The lobster was cold and was rubbery. The mussels were over cooked and was tasteless. The only positive thing on the platter was the fried scallops which were amazing. When I mentioned my concern to Charlie she just blew it off. My wife had the shrimps which were amazing. Sorry but when you are paying top dollar for a lobster dinner and the customer complains that the mussels were over cooked and that lobster was not good you should bring this to management attention. The services was below standard and your front line people have a bad attitude you need to fix this. This was our only disappointing meal on PEI!!

Yelp
Everyone recommended this place and we thought it was the place to go in Charlottetown, but we were wrong. It was barley ok. I ordered the fried oysters and those were the tiniest oysters I have ever seen. Baby oysters. No kidding, they were about the size of a quarter. I've eaten oysters around the world and have never seen such pathetic little things. Everything else was just normal. The chowder tasted like every other chowder I've ever had. Nothing stood out. I honestly do not get all the hoopla about this place. There are better restaurants in Charlottetown.

Yelp
Our food was good, portions were average good size. We have the lobster rolls, haddock fish filets and fried shrimp. Although the lobster rolls were priced a market I feel they were a little skimpy. Definitely not the best fried shrimp or lobster rolls but the lobster did taste fresh and we always like to support local family businesses and would eat here again. Would not get the fried shrimp again. Service was good staff pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is very small and cozy.

Yelp
Make reservations! But they did do a take away for me of their seafood chowder. It was good even though I didn't get to enjoy it until it was just warm, due to delays on my end not theirs.

Yelp
We were a party of 4. We walked the city and I had used Yelp to find a place for lobster rolls. This place is awesome. It's quirky. We started with mussels and raw oysters. They were amazing. Our lobster rolls were so good! We gobbled them up. The fries are hand cut and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the potato salad. Our server, Phil, was so funny! I loved his sense of humor and service was awesome!! I highly recommend here!!

Yelp
This was one of the restaurants recommended by the staff at our hotel. It's located at the intersection of Water Street and Prince Street. We walked in to find the restaurant completely filled with customers. It took a quick second for a server to acknowledge us, ask if we had a reservation (looks like we should've made one), and then show us to a recently vacated table. Upon looking around I saw that Water Prince Corner Shop was featured on You Gotta Eat Here! (a show on the Food Network) and everything that the other customers were dining on looked good. We decided to share the Water Prince Platter and a garden salad. The platter consisted of mussels, half a lobster, fried scallops and large scoop of potato salad. It was all so fresh and filling and completely satisfying.

Yelp
A really fresh corner seafood shop. Was highly recommended by friends. We ordered the seafood platter, The crab cluster Platter, and ofc a lobster roll. Everything was really fresh! Even the lobsters which were out of season at the time. My favorite however surprisingly was the scallops. SO JUICY. The lobster roll here seem really unique though, where the lobster by itself is basically not seasoned, which really let the lobster sing it's flavor. There is a small line of mayo, and ofc toasted buns.

Yelp
Wandered into this establishment for lunch. Excellent!!! My husband got fresh oysters and PEI mussels and I got the lobster roll. It was excellent. Family owned .. lots of folks eating there (locals as well as tourists).. if you're ever in Charlottetown give this place a try! It's great!!

Lisa O.

Yelp
Server was helpful and super efficient. Food was really good. Very busy as we arrived when a cruise ship was docked. Would definitely go back again.

Yelp
So good we came back on our second night in Charlottetown. The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked; scallop dinner on the first night and scallop burger tonight. My husband had the halibut dinner and the haddock fish and chips; perfectly cooked fish each time and great sides. We managed to share a desert on our first visit, the strawberry rhubarb pie was delicious. WaterPrince had been highly recommended by friends, we knew it was likely to be busy so we made reservations. Happy to recommend.

Yelp
First of all, reservations are recommended. It's the size of a corner store, best guess is seating for about 27 jam packed. You can show up and wait, but hard to say how that will work out. This was probably my favorite overall restaurant while in Charlottetown area. The staff were fabulous, the room had prrsonality and the food was great. We went there for lobster rolls, and we were not disappointed. The rolls are not the typical bun, but closer to thick cut bread with an opening in the middle, and grilled. The filling is generous and delicious. Also had the chowder, excellent. No room for dessert but the had some tempting choices, including a great looking pie. Lots to look at with memorabilia everywhere you looked on the walls.

Yelp
Get the BOWL of chowder, not the cup. Yes, it's that good. Great, friendly service and delicious french fries.

Yelp
Sat outside and shared a table with other travelers. Friendly staff and delicious food - housemade fish cakes and lobster roll. I would recommend.
google avatar

Fred T.

Yelp
One of the best lobster rolls I've ever tasted. Very friendly and attentive staff too!

Yelp
Best little restaurant for lobster and lobster rolls. Typically a line outside but the wait is well worth it. We got the recommendation from a local.

Yelp
Friendly staff and service, however slow service when we went in, could be that it was a Sunday night and a full house. Food came out fast though. Definitely make a reservation, they do book up fast on weekends. Lobsters here certainly lived up to its name and reviewed. Fresh and tender, highly recommend their lobster roll and lobster dinner. I really liked the potato salad because it's mixed with devil's eggs. Lovely local spot and a must if you're visiting.

Yelp
Best fish and chips in Charlottetown!!! Service is always great too. One of our favourite places to go.

Yelp
PEI was a stop on our cruise, and we had mussels on our minds. The mussels were fresh and the portions were BIG! And look at that lobster roll! You can't beat it! We had a large party and they accommodated us quickly. If there's a wait, do it. You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
This Gem was not far from the seaport. Read much about it prior to arriving and I must say they did not disappoint. Lobster Roll was super buttery and tasty....wish it was warmed up a little more but it was fine. The star that rivaled it was the MUSSELS!!! Man they were good......fresh and........... D-lishious......stop in and have a taste.

June S.

Yelp
there on their last open weekend. Awesome as always. Fish to die for. My fav oysters deep fried. Not available but fish didn't disappoint Had haddock. Service great. Attentive and friendly.

Yelp
I was excited to stop in here but I think it was okay. Decent food, but I was a little disappointed in the fried oysters being so flat instead of plump.

Yelp
Classic Diner vibe with an out of this world food paired with extraordinary service! Very budget friendly and awesome for families. Indoor and outdoor patio on a corner 1 block away from the wharf!

Marissa K.

Yelp
Lobster roll was great-super fresh and simply dressed (mayo on the side). Shrimp with fresh vegetables were excellent. Baked potato was nice and hot. Potato salad also very good. Went at 5 pm and had to wait 10 min. Reservations recommended. I was reassured of my choice to eat here when two separate parties of locals were eating here also. Very casual atmosphere-nothing fancy-just very good food.

Barbara S.

Yelp
We read mostly very good reviews online. The moment we walked in, we should have followed our instincts and walked out immediately. Apparently, the cooling system was not working well, so the door was open and we walked through a multitude of black flies. I ordered fried oysters with a baked potato, my dinner partner got fried fish and a baked potato. The oysters were fresh, but covered in an under-seasoned, tasteless dredge. How do you go wrong with a baked potato? By under-cooking it. It was served with a packaged 1/2 teaspoon portion of butter. When I stopped a server and asked for extra, she brought one more packet even though there were two of us. I had to ask for an additional packet for my dinner companion. This restaurant may have been good once, but they're now obviously running on their previous reputation. The place was dirty and worn and the service was terrible.

Mary K.

Yelp
Great hospitality by staff. Lobster roll was excellent. 1# lobster was somewhat dry and chewy

Lucy M.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The best lobster I've ever had - my lobster dinner came with delicious mussels cooked in wine. There was a bit of a wait but we'll worth it!

opinionated r.

Yelp
My favorite food on our cruise. Love the lobster roll. The lobster ruled with the seemingly simplicity of fabulous bread topped off generously with lobster. Fine potato salad. I don't want an italian pesto and mexican spice on a lobster roll. Let the deliciousness of plain lobster rule. And then the coconut pie. . . nearly $10. . . but the best. The ambiance adds to the experience. You even want to dive into your neighbors' dishes. . . what do mussels taste like? They were beautifully prepared. How can I get back there?!? A+

Yelp
Quaint dining establishment that is a short walk from the cruise pier. Get there early, it's small and fills up super quick on port day. Waitress was very friendly and seafood was excellent and fresh. Would love to visit again!

Matt D.

Yelp
Lovely seafood shop. Deliciously fresh crustaceans, we got the 1.5 lb lobster dinner with mussels, scallops, fish and chips, seafood chowder. The potatoes, of course, were excellent (get the fries or baked potato over the potato salad, it was a bit too egg-centric for my liking). Our server was attentive and did a fantastic job, apparently it was her first night! Strongly consider this small place when choosing a lobster joint.
google avatar

Ellie H.

Yelp
Ordered a lobster dinner for each, with mussels as appetizer to start with paired meshed potato/fries. One may also choose chowder to start. Honestly a bit pricey, since fresh lobster is around 11$/lb and I had 1lb lobster but the dinner cost 40+. Quality is good though, fresh meat with al dente texture. Paired well with butter for sure.

Lisa A.

Yelp
Were so glad we made the stop. Hubby loved his lobster roll, which was filled with huge pieces of lobster (no mayo)! I loved my fish cakes that came with a delicious green salad, the best I've had in Canada!

Yelp
Continuing our Lobster Roll gastronomic adventure, while cruising of course. For our second Roll we went with a jewelry store recommendation. We ate at WPCS - and it is really at the corner of Water and Prince in a renovated storefront. Short walk past downtown from the cruise ship terminal (up street and to the right of the main street from the terminal). This is a full service restaurant with waitresses. Taste - Lobster Roll made only one way, lightly dressed, they have other food too! PEI Mussels (very good but next table had nine unopened and they gave them a bigger batch to make up for it), Scallops, Whole Steamed Lobster ($40CAD for one pounder with chowder and steamed mussels). Whole Steamed is messy - need wipes. Ambiance - sit down restaurant with license plates from all over North America. Seats less than 60? Excellent service. You will need to wait or make a reservation. Price - one size roll, $19.95CAD. Less than five ounces of lobster. Still pricey, but, but, but you're on vacation.... Overall: Tops for ambiance, decent but not the best Lobster Roll, has other seafood. Excellent service - best sit-down seafood restaurant.

Tabitha L.

Yelp
We had great service, our orders came quick and we were all very happy with our meals; lobster roll, clams & chips, and fish sandwich.
google avatar

Shabbir S.

Yelp
We went there just after the hurricane Dorian crossed over PEI. Most part of Charlottetown and PEI was without electricity! Fortunately this place was open and having power. We found the food good and serving size decent. Service was good. The staffs are nice. It's a small place so seating is compact, but not cramped. Onsite parking are for 15 minutes only, thus you may need to drive a little to find nearby street parking.

Chet B.

Yelp
Very good food, small corner restaurant with more of a home cooked taste then a restaurant taste. Very good food, highly recommended.
