Hidden Gem in Baltimore! On our drive back home from NYC, my wife and I stumbled across this amazing Asian restaurant in Baltimore—and wow, what a surprise! The standout dishes? The ribs and the potato dish—absolutely incredible. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor, and the potato dish was unlike anything we’ve had before—crispy, savory, and perfectly seasoned. Easily the best we’ve had in a long time. What really made the experience even better was our waiter. Super friendly, welcoming, and really informative about the menu. He gave great recommendations and helped us understand some of the more unique dishes. We weren’t planning to stop in Baltimore, but now we have a reason to come back. My wife and I will definitely be returning!

The Snapper was absolutely delightful along with all the other food. The Honeydew mint cooler is the perfect drink as well. Thanks to our servers Zizou we will definitely be back he was the best!

My second time here and they didn’t skip a beat! Dayana and Zezou were excellent servers and the chef visited our table and thanked us for our service. We will definitely come back and check out their Premium AYCE menu

I like the place enough to both periodically buy takeout and also introduce to my parents as a sit-down experience. My usual takeout order is xiao guo spicy pork noodles and they wrap it up well enough to survive the trip. The scallion pancakes are good too. But honestly, you can't go wrong with the rest of the menu. Absolutely get the sesame ball pastries for dessert, though. You'd be wrong not to do it. Also, the staff is extremely nice and I got a larger serving in my order around New Year.

Extremely disappointing meal. I have no idea how this small pot of rice noodles justifies an $18 price tag. The portion was minimal, the noodles were drenched in oil, and they had a slightly sour taste. Everything was served in one bowl—no separation at all. The potatoes were also soaked in oil, overly salty, and left a bitter aftertaste. Easily the worst Chinese restaurant experience I’ve had in Baltimore.

Here’s the short version: The food was wonderfully flavorful. A lot of cilantro and chili oil, so keep that in mind if you’re among the “tastes like soap” or anti-lipids crowd. Here’s the long version: We ordered 1) Soft Tofu Rice Noodles with pork 2) Roasted Pork Belly Ramen 3) Spicy Garlic Cucumber Salad 4) Sesame Balls 5) Yunnan Puer Hot Tea Pot 6) Xiao Long Bao 1) the soft tofu rice was delicious. Slightly sweet, faintly spicy, cilantro and chili oil heavy. If you’re like my wife, you’re fishing every morsel out of the broth and savoring the flavor. If you’re like me, you’re drinking the stuff by the end of the meal. The Tofu was soft (rather than the typical blocks of tofu) in an appetizing way, and it made for a good mixture/medley. 2) My ramen was also fantastic. I’m a fan of spicy, and I’m a fan of ramen. The noodles got pretty soft before I finished the soup, so keep that in mind if you have a texture sensitivity. I thought it was delicious, but if youre a save-the-best for last type and have a texture preference, you might have to tackle that part first. Same goes for the roasted pork. 3) Cucumber salad cut the flavors really well. It was a pleasant little palate cleanser. 4) Yes. Sweet, chewy but firm, excellent flavor profile. A lovely dessert pastry. We were scraping honey off of the plate. Ask me if I’m ashamed. (No) 5) We were warned that the tea would be sour. I guess? It tasted more like unsweetened green tea. Tasted wonderful to me, and sugar was an option to add. 6) I mean.. soup dumplings. They were perhaps somewhat small? I’d still say they were worth it flavor wise if you’re not doing a cost-value analysis (which I often am). Delightful food. Great presentation. Kind staff. 5/5 will eat again.

Had the ayce lunch again and it was delicious as always! My favorite dishes are the beef with tomato gravy and the dai spicy beef over rice. Zezou is excellent and makes you feel apart of the family :) Make sure you try the sesame balls too!

Yelp
This was probably in the top 3 best dining experiences I've had. The server was so kind, so generous, and funny too!! The food was not just good, it opens your eyes to new flavors. We just moved to the area tonight and this will be a happy memory for me. Thank you!!

Yelp
Right off the bat, I noticed that the service was poor. A couple who were sat down AFTER us had their order taken first, and they were served way before us. Our server also seemed unfamiliar with the menu and had us repeat our order multiple times, which slowed things down even more. On top of that, the salt shaker at our table was rusty...not a great look. We came for the AYCE lunch special ($25 per person). They also had a premium AYCE option for $45 that included mocktails, but we stuck with the regular lunch special for now. Service continued to be frustrating. 18% gratuity is automatically added for AYCE specials and it was very hard to get the waiter's attention. There were two servers working and the restaurant was not busy at all, yet it still took a long time for me to get a soda and just as long for a simple refill. They also have a 1.5 hour time limit per person for AYCE, though I'm not sure how strictly that's enforced. FOOD: Must try: Five Spiced Wings: Crispy and moist, but really lacking that signature five-spice flavor Asian Jerk Chicken: One of the stronger dishes. Well-seasoned with a nice char and a good kick. Pork Dumplings and Spicy Sour Sauce: A win. The sauce had great acidity and bright flavor. Dai Spicy Beef over Rice: The beef was definitely crispy and had a nice char that complemented the beef Pass: Beef with Tomato Gravy: The beef was tender and the sauce was sweet, which I did not like. Also, the rice was hard and dry. This was a pass for me. Spicy Pork Rice Noodles: I got spice level three. Not spicy at all, very flat, and lacking acidity. Garlic Stir Fry Bok Choy: Same char flavor as most of the other dishes, but the garlic flavor was lacking Bulgogi Beef Street Taco: I wouldn't really call it bulgogi. The beef had large fat chunks that made it unpleasant. Also, the TV was playing a weird background music with a beach house scene....it did not really fit the vibes of this establishment.

Yelp
We popped in here for lunch after hearing about their all you can eat deal, which is $25 per person from 11:30-3:00 on weekdays. We tried about 8 different dishes and some of them were excellent, while some were not great. The highlights were the stir fried garlic green beans (they were charred perfectly), the chilled noodles served in a sauce that was somehow sour and deeply umami at the same time, and the shrimp tacos. Sadly, the service was not good. With the exception of one nice waiter, the wait staff walked through the dining room with their heads down to avoid catching your eye. Also, the day we were there they were out of beef, which meant about a third of the menu was unavailable.

Yelp
The food is delicious but the service needs improvement. I did the all-you-can-eat lunch and perhaps that is why the service is poor. If you are in the service industry, I'd expect acknowledgement or a nod, instead the staff avoids eye contact and hides outside of view. It's not hard to take a second and nod at someone to let them know that you see them and that you will be with them once you are done running away from the dinning area. The person that is in the social media videos and promos was there working but not helpful. I was hoping that the face of the restaurant would be a standard bearer but unfortunately their standards in service were disappointingly low. The location is near all the Fed Hill hot spots. I hope they can do better because the food (and chefs) are carrying this business.

Yelp
Was in the Fed hill area for a magic show and decided to stop by for a bite to eat. Everything is confidently ordered on your phone so you don't have to fumble over a physical menu. We ordered the lemongrass fried pork, spicy fish fillets, braised beef rice noodles and potato pancake. The lemongrass fried pork was flavorful but fried too much so it came out a bit dry and hard to eat. The spicy fish fillets were nice, tender and very spicy! Fav dish of the meal! The braised beef with rice noodles were nicely balanced with flavorful broth. The potato pancake was crispy and seasoned well. Over all nice ambiance and great service!

Yelp
Worst service ever and literally most ridiculous thing I have ever come across in my entire life. I have asked multiple times for ordering and after roughly 15 minutes later. The server condescending informed me I have to "thank" him first and need to say "please" before he can take my order. I guess he thought he is JD Vance and people need to beg him first to ask for what he is supposed to do.

Jenny l.

Yelp
The service is horrible, the server is rude and slow. They ask people to wait for a long time without serving, when asked he said "you did not see I am packing for the deliveries? You should say please and thank you?" Please don't go unless you want to deal with rude server, long wait and no food.

Yelp
Water Song is a place I've frequented often and enjoyed when it first opened. It's difficult to find a rice noodle restaurant that has authentic flavor. However, with each visit, I've noticed the quality decrease significantly over the years. I always try to give Water Song another chance because I always remember the initial good impression it gave me, but I always end up leaving grossly disappointed. Today was no different and is the final time. Not only did the dish I order (crossing bridge) have the most bland soup base, but the ingredient choices and quantity I was given was not worth the price point of ~$20. There was barely any rice noodles in mine, so I ended up eating the dish my girlfriend had ordered but stopped eating midway after finding a hair in her rice noodle soup (xiao guo). The hair didn't bother me as much but I was still hungry even after finishing hers and my dishes. I won't be back

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Baltimore and one of my favorites anywhere. Chef Colin is always tweaking his menu for seasonality and the current version is his best yet. When you order something spicy, they ask regular spicy or Sichuan spicy and then deliver. Great food, great service, a passionate chef. This is a perfect spot that always delivers. I am going to bring my second large group here because I have no doubt it is going to be good.

Yelp
The service was good, everyone was attentive and someone explained that they had a new menu for the summer. The food was a mixed bag. The bok choy and short rib mixian were very good and I'd say authentic. However the egg yolk wings (too salty and charred) and complimentary fruit were not very good (it was tropical fruit with soy sauce and tajin?). The honeydew refresher was good but very sweet and a radioactive color somehow. The milk tea had a good flavor and was refreshing. Overall it was a good experience!

Yelp
I ordered takeout but this was all still really good, hot and prepared neatly! The dry hot pot (beef) was good as the beef was tender. The potatoes are surprisingly fitting with the dish. The eggplant is amazing! The beef noodle soup with rice noodles were delicious. The soup is in a separate compartment for delivery but it still feels like the noodles were slightly overcooked. I'm sure if it was fresh it'd be perfect. The mapo tofu was good, however I do feel like softer (silken) tofu would be more fitting texture wise as this was a little too firm. Nothing was too spicy, but all in all I really enjoyed what we ordered. I'd definitely come back and try more dishes!

Yelp
This is my new favorite spot for Asian cuisine! I love trying the dishes from the Yunnan region. For appetizers, I tried the fried pork ribs, the spicy garlic cucumber salad and the soup dumplings. They were all very delicious, especially the ribs. The ribs were seasoned to perfection. For main entree, I had the braised beef rice noodle soup. I also tried my friend's wontons and crossing bridge noodles. It was very interesting to hear the story of the crossing bridge noodles and there is art on the wall of the restaurant showing the story of the crossing bridge noodles. It was great to learn about such an authentic dish! My braised beef was done just right and the dish was very yummy. For dessert, we tried their rose cakes and it was divine! They came out warm and inside were rose petals. It was just the right amount of sweetness. I heard they have seasonal menu items that are constantly changing and I can't wait to come back and try more.

Yelp
too salt. It is not real traditional yunnan food. The soup is ok. Other foods either are salty or sweet. Yunnan food should be sour and spicy. Unfortunately, I only feel salty and sweet. Disappointment. Please careful for TIP TIP. Restaurant automatically adds the tip to your bill.

Yelp
I got carry out from here this weekend and it was life-changing. The garlic bok choy was probably one of the most delicious things I've eaten all year and the pork wontons in chicken broth were healing. I will most definitely be back to try other things on the menu because what I got did not disappoint. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here for a business lunch. The ambience was very new age Chinese. Well decorated, very serene. Our server, Vivi, was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She made some recommendations that we did not regret. It is rare to get good Yunnan food. I had such a great time. Looking forward to my next trip here.

Yelp
***Quick service, Delicious, Highly recommend*** Authentic yunnan cuisine. I loved the pork noodle soup. The seasoning was excellent and it's a good portion! The scallion pancakes were a bit under seasoned but the crispy flakiness was on point. I would definitely check this place out if you're in the area. Lots of seating options and great selection of menu items to share or solo dine!

Yelp
The food was excellent. I really enjoyed the menu and learning about Yunnan cuisine. The flavors were very rich. There were so many different items I wanted to try. I went with their classic crossing bridge rice noodle. It was quite a treat. I also enjoyed the appetizer of the spicy garlic, cucumber salad. It was not that spicy, but very flavorful. And I also got the pumpkin cakes. I was a little bummed that they were out of the roast puff pastry. Service was excellent, and the ambience was stylish and clean.

Yelp
I haven't had anything bad from this place! I've tried multiple things and they are all delicious! My go to place on Cross Street! So authentic and yummy. I love the Raven's Purple Bao, the dumplings, fried rice and noodles!
google avatar

Yelp
Menu items have potential, but unfortunately the lemongrass pork ribs and braised beef noodles did not hit. Couldn't taste the lemongrass, and the pork was pretty dry and tough. The noodles were super light on flavor, fortunately the beef was nice and tender though. Ordered the tangyuan sticky rice balls and coconut bubble ruda for dessert. Thought that dessert might make up for the main dishes. Nope, sorely disappointed. The sticky rice balls lacked any soybean powder. The coconut ruda was the saddest, it's literally coconut milk topped with coconut shavings, rice, and there's bread/soggy cookie in it. There is no boba/bubbles in it, even though the name suggests it. The waitress was nice enough to take 10% off for their false advertising. Aside from the food, service was good. Nice decor inside and plentiful seating. Unfortunately I won't be back for the food.

Yelp
This Yunnan restaurant is hiding in the heart of Baltimore. Easy and inexpensive parking garage next to it. The surrounding streets are not so clean and homeless is visible in the vicinity. Not surprised for Baltimore though. The restaurant itself is tidy and utensils are clean. Well maintained bathroom as well. Very responsive services but not too much of a disturbance to family conversation. Have high chairs for little kids. Food is definitely authentic. We ordered the cross bridge rice noodle, which is the most famous dish for any Yunnan restaurant, fried ribs and spicy chicken, all are on chef recommended menu. Great taste but personal wouldn't order the cross bridge rice noodles again because the formality is the selling point, not so much the rice noodles itself. Spicy chicken(in the picture) is my favorite although it would be too spicy for the kids. We are just a little shocked to see a $29 non-market priced-seafood dish! Sufficient amount for sure, but $29 for one dish? Remember to order the fresh flowers-made cakes. Delicious! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try Yunnan cuisine for the first time!

Yelp
Food is good.. I like the noodle (beef noodle) soup that I ordered but the anise is so strong and there is some residue of the anise seed. )Maybe the need to strain the broth to eliminate some of the small seeds. Over all, I like the soup. I like also the ginger beer. Planning to come back again and try to taste the other menu.
google avatar

Julie F.

Yelp
The food is decent. The family favorite was the pig feet. The pricing is a bit high for what you get, and it's in an area with drunken college kids acting out on the street corner on a Sunday afternoon so a bit too trendy for me. Otherwise, it was an acceptable meal when we were hungry about 15 minutes away, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. The service was excellent and attentive.

Yelp
The environment is really nice. They have pop music playing. I sat where I wanted. He came to take my order in a timely manner and the food was served quickly. They did not come by to refill my water or ask if I wanted more and I had to flag someone to pay. The beef noodle soup is definitely spicy. I have a low spice tolerance so for me it had my nose running and I finished my water but I was able to handle it and finish the food. The beef is pretty good. It's a little inconsistent on tenderness but overall you can taste the soy sauce-like marinade. It comes with a lot of green onion and cabbage on top. I probably got about 8 pieces of beef so I would have looked more. I wish the noodles were not as broken up as they were because it made it more difficult to eat. Cost for the bowl was $16.96. Overall, good though and worth a try!

Yelp
I've heard mix reviews of this place and since we were in the area and craving Chinese food, we figured why not. This is going to be a hard pass for me moving forward. The amount of salt in all of these dishes made me pucker up with every bite. I went through so much water and coconut milk just to combat all the salt. We couldn't even taste the spices or other seasonings because everything was just so salty. The ribs were extremely dry and it was like biting into salty beef jerky. The service was just so so and we should have gone elsewhere when we noticed no one was there for dinner. I'm too hesitant to ever try this again and waste my money.

Yelp
I love water song. This is the only decent Chinese food in the city that I have found. I have met the owner, he is a very kind a wonderful person. The ambiance in the restaurant is also great. All of that said, the food is inconsistent, and it makes me think twice about going. My wife and I got carry out from water song on Sunday night. We ordered kunming potatoes, kunming noodles, and the new dry ramen. The potatoes were amazing. Possibly the best rendition of that dish we had ever had. I cannot describe how amazing it was. The kunming noodles were ok, but the sauce had spilled in the bag and so it was a bit unbalanced. The dry ramen was ok, but a bit too peppery (this was likely my fault for ordering it extra spicy). All in all, a great meal. The potatoes were so good in fact, that we decided to order them again the next night. This time they were totally different. Instead of having the red sauce that is spicy and rounded and just so good, they were just doused in pepper, not spicy, just super peppery. I checked the order, we ordered the exact same thing but what we got was totally different. This is not the first time we have had consistency issues. More than half of the last 5 times we have gotten food there have been some issue with one of the dishes. This is all to say, even at its worst day, water song is better than any Chinese food I have had in the city. At the same time, you might have an amazing version of a dish one day, and an OK version of it the next...

Yelp
I really like this place I come here all the time. The inside is very nice and the ambiance is nice. I wish there was a noodle soup with tofu but instead I order the dry noodles with tofu and get soup on the side and that's good. I also liked the shrimp fried rice and the wonton soup. The waitresses are always nice and accommodating. It seems to be a popular date spot. There's always families and couples here on dates. I like that the tables could fit a lot of people a family or a group of friends.
google avatar

Ana B.

Yelp
I've actually never been inside but I know their location is quite small on the side next to cross street. I've had delivery a few times and it's always been solid. Asian food is hard to find in Baltimore but I like Water Song for a clean elevated taste. I got a few items delivered. The fried rice was good - I got it spicy and the dumplings were fine. I will say Water Song is great at vegan dishes but maybe he heavy handed on the Sichuan Peppercorn. The highlight in this order was definitely the BBQ ribs small bites of ribs. I also loved their rice cakes with brown sugar - it reminded me of a dessert I used to eat as a kid!

Yelp
The food was good and the portion sizes were great for the dry hot pot offerings. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and very cute.

Yelp
Just spent $50 on takeout and got one set of chopsticks and no sauce!!! Dried out chicken in fried rice and soup with zero flavor.

Yelp
Holy crap. Words cannot express just how delicious this place is. We tried a bit of everything but the wantons in chili oil were a huge stand out. The service was outstanding. What a simple and amazing place.

Yelp
I happened to be hanging out in the Fed Hill area, something uncommon for me nowadays, so I knew I needed to give Water Song a visit since I'm rarely in the area. The inside is clean and inviting with beautiful murals and nice decor. The place was pretty much completely empty on a Thursday evening. The menu can be a bit confusing to those of us not overly familiar with Yunnan cuisine or the Chinese language. Much of the menu items are not thoroughly described so I felt a little silly asking so many questions. I was really interested in trying the noodles but the server explained to me that every noodle dish comes with meat or in a meat broth. I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, but I don't eat red meat so this pretty much cancelled out all of the options since everything had beef or pork. She suggested I get one of the noodle dishes without the meat but did warn me it'd still be in the beef/pork broth. I obliged and was happy with this modified version of the dish! It had plenty of toppings and I especially liked the flavor of the pickled mustard - very unique! My friend ordered the ribs and we also got the cauliflower to share. My friend wasn't crazy about his ribs noting they were tough and cut up oddly making it hard to eat. The cauliflower, however, was delicious! We were both really impressed with the flavor. The chef, Colin, came out and asked if we'd like to try his new chicken wing creation he was testing out. This was a total surprise but we took him up on his offer! The wings were perfectly seasoned and the sauce they were served with was absolutely incredible. If you like cilantro, you will love that sauce! I believe the chicken wings are officially on the menu now and I'm super happy about this since the menu was definitely lacking a chicken based dish. I will be back to try more and am happy to see some of the options expanding beyond beef and pork - fingers crossed they add a vegetarian noodle dish sometime soon!

Yelp
This was my first time trying out this restaurant and it was an excellent first time! Specifically, my server, Vi Vi made the first time experience great. She gave me amazing food recommendations. I would definitely try the Zhanyi Peppery Chicken!I definitely recommend Vi Vi as a server if you come in! She's very kind and informative!

Yelp
I'm always down to try new regional dishes and places. This restaurant was recommended to me by my brother and from looking at the Yelp, it caught my attention right away. While I was worried there would be a long wait, the restaurant wasn't too busy on this Wednesday afternoon. The staff was really attentive, as a result, making sure we understood all of the dishes, had all of the extra plates and bowls we needed, and which dishes were and weren't available for the day. The food was the highlight of the visit, allowing me to try a variety of new dishes like the Kunming fried potatoes and the Cross the Bridge noodles. The potatoes were excellently seasoned and crispy. The noodles were great as well, and surprisingly easy to share. I wish I was still in the area to try more dishes!

Yelp
Food was offered fast. Rice noodle had decent portion and tasted better and better toward the finish. Not bad (4 star) but also not stunning. Worth trying

Yelp
If I could give it a 0, I would, but I can't so I give it a 1. This place is honestly trash. My friend wanted to go here for the longest time and we always tend to just pass by it, but this time I let her have her way. We were greeted and sat down at a table near the window. Wanted to request for a booth, but we were so hungry we just decided to sit down and order right away. We ordered the - Sliced spicy tofu 0/5 - First of all, we got tofu noodles vs sliced tofu that which we had ordered. They said they ran out of the sliced tofu. The texture of the noodles was weird and different. Besides that, it was SO freakin' spicy. I definitely recall saying mild and maybe she didn't hear me, but it was unbearable spicy for both me and my friend. Chugging down water did not help, in fact it made it worst. On top of all this, the noodles were cold! Mild vegan wontons 1/5 - In hopes to thinking this was be a better dish, and it was by 1 point. My friend was not a fan of this dish, but I needed something to calm down the spice from the tofu noodles. The soup was okay at best. I was just glad to have a warm dish, to be honest. The service and atmosphere was fine. Maybe this restaurant just wasn't vegetarian friendly, but I feel like all Asian food can be adapted to a vegetarian palate. I'll definitely however be passing this place and head on over to Yeero's or Pizza Boli's instead.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place out after walking by one afternoon! We were a party of 3, and we ordered the tofu appetizer as well as the fried potato dish. We also each ordered one noodle dish. The flavors were really complex and on point, but I found the noodles TOO SPICY! Maybe I am just not as good with spice as I thought, but it was hard to eat them when the dish itself was spicy and hot (in temperature). Nothing wrong with the dishes but I just would caution for ordering some not spicy dishes to balance out spicy dishes:)

Amy T.

Yelp
We ordered the 辣子鸡 and the 过桥米线. I love the chicken, it's addictively salty, surprisingly filling and just the perfect amount of spicy. The rice it came with was also excellent. The noodles could use a bit of tweaking. the broth needs to be less oily and it could use a bit more salt. Once I skimmed off some oil I could tell there's a deep rich flavor from the duck bones, but if you just have it without skimming the oil it kind of tastes like nothing since the oil coats your tongue.

Yelp
The food here is everything previous reviewers have stated. I had the braised beef and sweet cauliflower. The beef bowl was just a bowl of happiness with tender beef morsels nestled between noodles and a delicious beef broth with scallions and mint throughout. On this cold night this dish truly warmed my soul. The portion of this bowl was also ample. In fact I got a carry out to take home. To bad I dropped it just before I left the restaurant and cracked the container and the broth quickly filled up the bag The double fried cauliflower was sweet and savory with just a hint of crisp. Although, it didn't appear to be fried at all, but it was sooo good They have quite a few vegan small shareable options, but would like to see more shrimp, fish, and chicken options. The single dishes were mainly beef or pork with1 option for chicken wings. They didn't have any alcoholic beverage options, so if that's a requirement for you this isn't the place for you. You can sit in or take out. The restaurant has a very clean and crisp look with of course an Asian flair. Wooden booths and tables finish off the decor.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Water Song since they opened. I finally was able to try the restaurant last night. I ordered and picked up my order from the restaurant. The woman who I spoke to was very nice. I walked to Water Song since I live close by and I couldn't find the restaurant because I was on the wrong side of Cross Street so I called the restaurant again to get directions. When I arrived, the young lady called me by name and gave me my order. The place looked really cute and hoping to dine inside one day. I ordered Xiao Guo (pork) rice noodle. I liked that they separated the noodles from the broth. I added the noodles at home so the noodles are not soggy. The broth is flavorful and not salty and not spicy. I really enjoyed the dessert -bubble ruda which is coconut milk with sticky rice and a cookie. I will definitely try the other food items on the menu.

Yelp
Place is clean and cute. Ordered the pork belly noodles and it was very good. Savory and refreshing and not too spicy. Wish the Raven dumplings were bigger but still good.

Yelp
Unique offering in Baltimore! I don't get to eat much Yunnan food outside of China (so much sichuanese, Shanghainese, fake Beijing style, Americanized "Chinese"). The best: get the braised beef soup noodle. Reminded me of my northern China trips! (My family is from northern China) The least favorite: The fried pork came highly recommended and I hate to say that it's the least favorite of ours. Aside from spicy (I drink sriracha and I thought it was too spicy) I detected zero other flavors. I didn't get the "ma" flavor from peppercorn either. BYOB was a nice addition! The tilapia was great in flavor - the sauce that paired with it was also amazing- but a bit either over cooked or maybe dried out. Not sure if it's just my preference for fish and this is how it's supposed to be cooked. Overall I still say this is a "must get" item just because it's relatively unique in preparation here in the states. The eggplant was *chef's kiss* good. The pork ribs were awesome! Definitely get this as a sharable appetizer. Overall it's a 4.5 star experience. We are probably harsher judges than most but we enjoyed ourselves here.

Yelp
Came here based on friends' recommendation. Hidden in the middle of restaurant row. Quite a welcoming setting. Ordered the beef noodle and the cross-bridge noodle. Both were equally authentic and delicious as well as the ice jelly.

Yelp
We ordered take out of the Double Fried Sweet Cauliflower, Spicy Vegan Wontons, Braised Beef Rice Noodle, and Sliced Spicy Tofu. Hoping the food was sub-par because of delivery versus on-site. Will give them another try.

Yelp
Came to Water Song in hopes of satisfying some asian noodle soup cravings, & was honestly quite disappointed. The braised beef noodle soup looked promising in pictures and yelp reviews, but the broth was bland and lacked any depth of flavor. After adding in a container of chili oil, the flavor was slightly improved upon, but not by much. Rice noodles were also really mushy to the point of having no bite/texture. The xiao guo (pork) rice noodle wasn't any better either. While it was a bit spicier than the braised beef noodle, the soup was also extremely sour from the pickled vegetables. Overall, the food either lacked flavor or the flavors were poorly balanced.

Yelp
Lovely Asian addition to the Baltimore area. The interior and decor is so cute - I so wish we could have dined in. The menu is small but each food item we ordered was solid. We got the small pot rice noodle, kunming zaijang rice noodle salad, crispy pork, and bubble ruda. The noodles were soft (try the rice noodles) and the broth/sauce it comes in have a complex profile of sweet, spicy, sour all at once! It was nice to eat a different Chinese flavor than the popular Szechuan. The bubble ruda was like a coconutty-tapioca pudding -- not too sweet, just right. We brought our parents and they were pleased with the food too, which is an ultimate sign of approval! The staff are also super nice. We ordered take out but noticed that the weather was nice, and they quickly set up and cleaned an outdoor table for us, complete with bringing out more chairs and an umbrella. Then they proceeded to bring us water and chat with us about the food etc. They also go out of their way to give free beef jerky that they make for dogs when people walking their dogs walk by! Tip: It's advised to order online ahead of pick up but their ordering website was not working when we tried... so we ended up ordering through grubhub. Tip 2: You can get a free appetizer or dessert when you check in on yelp!
