Water Tower Place

It was cool walking through the shopping area that is connected to the Ritz-Carlton Chicago hotel where you do not have to deal with the elements so if you are looking for something quick to eat or to find an item of specific quality then definitely walk through and shop at Water Tower Place.

I've never been to a mall that had more than two floors, so one with seven (7) ??!?? Is INSANE! For us, we only visited a handful of shops, but they were pretty spread out between the floors, and we didn't mind riding the escalators up and down a few times. I would definitely 100% recommend grabbing a shake from Jojo's, I'm pretty sure they're located on the main floor, or maybe the second? It was delicious and not that expensive. I wish we had one back where I live, because I would be buying them all the time 😅😅🤷🏻‍♀

Completed in 1869 Water Tower and Pumping Station survived the Chicago Fire of 1871 because of a German immigrant fireman, Frank Trautman, who covered the buildings with woolen blankets and discarded canvas sails and kept the covers soaked in lake water. Love it!

My bestie took me here while we were in Chicago for a concert. The museum was cool and had some cool games to play. Entry fee for the Sports museum was only $10. It was a beautiful, and a safe atmosphere. Tons of places to shop. I was watching the movie Fred Claus and during the scene where a bunch of Santa's were chasing Vince Vaughans character into a Toy's R US in that same building. I was like "Hey!! I was just there!" LOL We got lost trying to find the way out that we came in. One of the workers who was I think was waiting for her ride home while sitting at the bottom of a staircase chimed in when she could tell we were lost. She was super polite and explained to us how to get to the entrance we came in. Chicago gets a bad reputation from the media but there's amazing friendly people who live there. The woman working the sports museum Entry point was just as friendly. I love Chicago! Everytime I go there it's a different experience, but it's always positive.

I haven't been here in years and it's wonderful, good security. The stores are clean. The place is very nice. I liked it a lot

Cool place to visit, as you walk in you get a sense of the size, after all, there are 7 floors. There are plenty of stores to visit and the elevators were fun to take. We went during the Holidays, the decorations were pretty.

It's not the same exciting shopping mall where once it was similar to an afternoon traffic jam just to go up the escalators. Many of the shops have unfamiliar names. Whoever owns the place better hurry and do something like loweing rent before it becomes a relic or a high-end condo building!

I live in northern Indiana so malls around me are basically dead. We came for the Harry Potter experience but showed up early and had a look around. Definitely a good spot if you're looking to hit a lot of shopping in one building. I don't love that there aren't restrooms on each floor but there were enough just with a bit if a wait. There is a lot of signage with a QR code to scan and see a list of all of the shops and a map. It was insanely busy and I'm not sure if it's always like that or because it just so happened to be lollapalooza weekend. Definitely high traffic on the escalators and there was a serious wait if you needed an elevator (which doesn't stop on each floor).

My kids favorite stores are here -- right next to each other. American Girl and LEGO store. We only visit for these but I did notice that they have Free People which I might have to visit soon. The bathrooms are clean. The elevators are gorgeous and the parking is $14 if you park after 5pm.

What happened, never mind I know most of the truth or lies they have fed the public. It doesn't matter now, the glory days with the crowded food court, lots of great food and beautiful folks to mingle with is the days of yesteryear I guess. That's okay I only frequented it once in a while Now there are only a couple stores left and no food court last I was there. Mostly quiet , empty and a little sad Such a great building and so many great experiences there. Hope they can rebuild it up again.

Idk this place seemed dead! It might have been something back in the day but it ain't much today. Maybe it was the time of day I went, noon on a Wednesday. I did see a small Garrets in there and a couple of stores I went in of interest (like the Lego store) but otherwise, I was killing time waiting on my 360 Chicago appointment. Hard pass next time I'm in Chicago.

If you are looking to kill some time and want to roam around in a non chalant way, this mall is for you. The positive is it's very pretty and now for the holidays decorated very festive. It is located on Michigan Avenue and that is another plus. However, I have never seen a more boring collection of stores. American Girl and LEGO is the main draw and Chicago Sports museum other than that....????? My cousin and I roamed for thirty minutes until we found Spirits and Spice which houses artisanal oils, wine and beer. There is a small dining area on Ground Floor which offers pizza, burgers and shakes. Fun facts: first opened in 1976 and was Chicago's first nine level multi purpose mall.

By the name of this place, you know what's close to it. It's a mall located next to one of Chicago's most famous landmarks. Water Tower Place certainly isn't historic like that structure though. Even so, it has an important part in retail history. This was one of the first malls with multiple floors, glass infrastructure and all that kind of stuff. As for the actual shopping at this mall, it's not good. It seems to have lost a lot of stores in recent years and hasn't recovered. The stores are a mix of casual and upscale. Also it certainly feels dated. The glass structure is from years past and pretty dumpy looking to be honest. About the only cool part is the water at the entrance. This is an appropriate motive since it's next to the water tower, one thinks. For sure it's not a great mall. It's more about the area and going to other places. There's still things to check out like the food court and whatever.

It has been some time since I've been to the water tower. I usually go for eyeglasses or random things shipped to a store, but I actually walked around and though a lot of stores have closed & the variety has changed, but they do have different themed installations/exhibits that make the water tower place it's home for a time (ie. Harry Potter Experience and Art exhibits). It's weird, because I remember people used to just walk around at the water tower but after Covid, random burglaries/smash and grabs, it is a little different now. I don't think the water tower has a lot of customer service? But the stores I visit are very friendly and helpful. I will say visit or revisited for the new exhibits, decorations, and new stores. I do believe the prices, for a lot of stores are still the same.

One of the many skyscrapers in Chicago, this property includes commercial office space, a hotel and a shopping mall. The 74 story building houses the Ritz-Carlton Hotel with over 425 rooms and the shopping mall that has over 60 stores, shops and restaurants spread out over 7 floors. Located on the north end of the Magnificent Mile, this is a. Chicago landmark worth checking out. There are several public transportation bus lines that make a stop here.

Oh! Not my game. Such an illusory place. Who needs a unicorn store? Rather walk outside, see the city and visit the stores you need on the way.

Pretty cool mall in downtown Chicago. Being from the south I prefer my outlet malls. I have come to the conclusion people in Chicago like to spend money because most stores are full price. Some normal pricing like Bath and Body works and other name brand stores. Nice selection of stores and chill atmosphere. Good place to walk around and sightsee. Not really my type of place in-terms of cost but nice place overall.

Close to the lake. Good shops. Places to sit and relax. Not too crowded when we went.

Unfortunately after the Covid-19 Pandemica, many shops (including Starbucks) have LEFT Water Tower Place. Bummer-but there are still others worth returning too! HOWEVER, THE MAIN FOOD COURT IS STILL THRIVING...UPSTAIRS...take the escalators. SOME SHOPS-That are still going strong! GROUND FLOOR- Wow Bao-Dumplings/Potstickers and Buns are still on the Ground Floor near the Main Entrance As is the American Girl Doll Store There is a SPRINKLES Self-Service Cupcake Kiosk on the Ground Floor in the back near the elevators and entry to the garage! Yay! Also a small convenience store not far from the Cupcake Kiosk that sells Lottery Tickets if you are feeling lucky. TOP FLOOR- Haray Caray's Restaurant and Sports Museum The Top Floor still has Harry Caray's Restaurant and Sports Museum for diners who get in FREE after eating at the Restaurant. Bath and Body Works-selling bath, shower, and other scented candles and sprays for your nap or nighttime pillow. Garrett Popcorn Is also on the top floor. Yes Please! All the flavors are available, fresh and sourced with large fully popped kernels flavored or unflavored! A Sports Shop that sells Jerseys and other Trademarked Logos from Chicago Teams to other NBA, NHL, and Football Jerseys and Hats and other items.

Sad excuse for a mall (apr 2022). About half the stores in this mall are closed. And although it's on the magnificent mile there is nothing magnificent about it. They have an ardidas, a Lego and American doll Stores. An express and several sports apparel stores but it was a waste of time to go here.

I was at Water Tower Place yesterday, as an early Birthday present to see Harry Potter Magic at Play, which last day here is this upcoming Monday which is Labor Day, so if you want to see it you better hurry up. it takes about an hour to get through the whole thing. If you are a big Harry Potter fan this is a must see. There are no restrooms at all in the exhibit, so if you need to use it go before, as once you leave there is no re-entry. And of course at the end is a gift shop with all sorts of clothes and other things at the end.

This mall is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen a mall so visually appealing. Tons of speciality stores exclusive to Chicago. It's a must see place to visit. The American Girl store was like a dream! Amazing.

This place is actually ALOT of fun looking back! It doesn't have the best of probably any store in it, but there are some good stores so the overall experience is fun! The Lego Store is probably the lamest of all Lego stores but they have lots of clothes stores for females with some really great dresses. But as a guy, I didn't find 1 thing. However, it's nice to catch that mall vibe in downtown Chicago!

There are so many businesses inside the Water Tower, such as my dentist. If I am early for my appointment, I walk around inside. If I am on time, I walk around after. Love the Sprinkle's ATM, so cool and easy to use.

We've been shopping here for many years. We have a lot of great memories of our kids at the American Girl and Lego stores. While they are still open, many stores have closed, moved, or have a new tenant with stuff that is not desirable for us. Unfortunately this location is slowly going under and will not be visiting as often going forward.

Off Michigan avenue. Quite a few police detail in here. 7 floors of stores. It's connected to American Girl place, Ritz Carlton and a movie theater too. Glass elevators and escalators too. Touch screen directory.

Water Tower Place is somewhere I always stop when I'm in town. It's nostalgic more than anything. When I was a child, my aunt bought my sister and I American Girl dolls here. We dined at the American Girl cafe and saw the show at the shop as well. The American Girl store is still here. Very clean and spacious. A young girls dream! How special! I always stop in for nostalgic purposes. Due to the pandemic a lot of stores have closed. My most recent visit was May 2022, but before that I was here February 2020 -- right before the world shut down. Quite a few stores closed in the time since (Pink, Macy's, Abercrombie and Fitch, Victoria Secret, etc) so I definitely felt like this mall felt empty. I didn't end up buying anything during my recent trip. However, I liked that Hollister relocated and adapted a brighter storefront. Employees were kind and helpful. Store was full of cute options.

Iconic Chicago. Back in the day (and this wasn't that long ago) this place was filled with department stores and smaller stores alike. We used to head in from the burbs because they had stores that couldn't be found elsewhere. And you came down for the day, because this place had a lot to offer and it took a lot of time to navigate it all. Unfortunately, post-covid and the reduction of retail have severely crippled this one-time mecca of shopping. Gone are the department stores and easily the majority of the smaller ones. I recall the food court being wall-to-wall with options, there are only one or two down there now, and you're lucky if either are open. But still, the Lego Store remains. And you're never too old to stop in to browse the latest in brick genius. As I remember the heyday of this place, I truly hope it can find a comeback. I have a lot of memories here with a lot of people in my life. Cheers.

This place just isn't what it was in the old days. I remember seeing how there would be massive department stores here - those have mostly closed now thanks to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are still some stores here such as American Girl and a food court, but there's more fun places on the Magnificent Mile than here. Stop by here if you want but I wouldn't spend too long in here. There's a lot more to do in Downtown Chicago than checking out this place.

Not what I remember but still a nice place. Unfortunately the pandemic changed so much everywhere and this is no exception. Shorter hours, less stores and much less eateries!

One of the joys of the Magnificent Mile are the malls. I was surprised this mall had zero Christmas decorations up. I recall years past this mall was always decked out. They have lots of empty space but not as much as I expected. It is fun window shopping. We had a doughnut from Do Rite Dounuts. They were ok not great. Found a Squishable Corgi I couldn't live without. First floor is a Dr Seuss Experience if you have a kid or don't mind being around screaming kids. Don't forget the Unicorn Store.

Wanted to check out what they have in the mall so decided to visit Water Tower Place. The name sounds confusing and honestly, I wouldn't think this is a mall but when you walk in you can tell right away. Plenty of stores inside such as legos, Jojos shake bar and the art of Dr. Seuss. The Legos line was pretty long and sort or insane. Went to Lacoste and bought a white sweater from here and if anything this store pretty much had just two other people inside. Service was friendly and enjoyable. Not all the stores are open since Covid is still here. But I would think it's a pretty nice place to get some stuff done and find a few things that you might like. There are a lot of floors in this mall I believe about 7 but if you get to the top it gets somewhat smaller I feel or maybe that's just me not sure.

Water Tower Place always makes me happy, especially during the holidays! It is the quintessential Chicago downtown mall. But don't go up to high if you have vertigo! The mirrors and shiny banisters are mind-blowing. If you love American Girl as much as I did, this mall will have a soft, warm place in your heart.

I've been coming to this mall for a long time. It really is quite beautifully decorated for each holiday season. The glass elevators are so majestic. The stores in the mall range from every day stores to high end stores. Some of the stores charge for a bag when you purchase something which I have never encountered anywhere but here. The staff does ask the customer right away if this wish to purchase a bag. There was ample security and everything was clean.

Upscale shopping center on Michigan Avenue with over 100 stores. Nice mall to just come and get your shop on. Many stores and restaurants to explore. Enjoyable outing for the kiddos to have fun. Lego Land, American Girl and Dr. Seuss Art Gallery. Plenty of stores and fun for the whole family. I like the glass elevators and the interior waterfall fountain displayed between the escalators. Free Wi-Fi Unique, enormous mall with many floors of variety stores, nice decor and great ambience.

Very nice mall, but quite honestly, I'm flat out too lazy to shop haha. Online shopping is taking over my life. This mall is definitely for tourists with the multiple souvenir shops and sports stores, but they also have tons of clothing stores. I think this mall is very overrated, though because I rarely ever actually find anywhere that interests me at the time I go in. My favorite thing about this mall is the beautiful architecture and the overall classy look inside. When you walk in, you go up escalators with water fountains in the middle of the up and down escalators. Once on the main floor, you see a wide open circular kind of area where you can see the glass, see through elevators. There are three elevators, and the nice thing is that one of the elevators goes straight to the 7th floor in case you are in a hurry and need something up there. This mall gets very busy, and half the time, the elevators are out of order or an escalator is, so that gets annoying. Also, too many people crowd into the elevators at one time. The Water Tower Place is huge, has 7 floors, and has over 100 stores. Though, it doesn't seem that big when you walk in because some stores are located in hallways, while others are seen in the main circular area at the heart of the mall where the elevators are. The stores attract people of all ages. For kids, they have the American Girl Store, the Lego Store, Build a Bear, and Claire's. For clothing, there is an Akira, Abercrombie, Forever 21. Hollister, Adidas, Express, Gap, and Macy's. Because I don't live downtown, I don't come here often, but at least once a year I do. I've come here since I was a toddler. I feel like there is no need for me to come downtown and shop in this mall because I can go to these places in the Rosemont Outlet mall near me; however, I still like Woodfield Mall best located in Schaumburg. They also redid the dining area so there are some great food options. They have a Harry Caray's restaurant and sports bar. They also have quick service restaurants, such as Foodease and Foodlife. Foodease has a wine bar, soup bar, salad bar, sandwich counter, sushi, and a bakery, while Foodlife offers barbeque, grilled food, stir fry, Mexican, pizza, and pasta. Overall, if you can't find something to eat, you aren't hungry!

I grew up near Chicago and this was one of the places we'd come for "shopping for the sake of shopping". I don't recall ever coming here looking for something in particular, but we did always have fun, and would come home with something random that we could easily carry home on the L. These days, I love coming back to see the holiday decorations, window shop and buy something random. The Lego store has an impressive model of the skyline in their window, and I loved the silver Horton outside the Dr. Seuss store. This is a very big mall with a wide price range and likely something for everyone. Even if you're not a huge shopping fan, this is an iconic Chicago mall worth a stop. I've never tried parking near here; we always take public transportation, which I highly recommend.

I didn't realize that there is a mall here. I walked in looking for a museum and than I realized the museum that I was looking for is really a pub. Its a pretty nice mall. There are a few restaurants upstairs. The elevators may need to be checked on. There are 3 elevators with one going straight to the 7th floor. Unfortunately, none of the elevators were working when I was there. Be prepared to hike up a lot of stairs. Its great that there is a mall with AC and it is definitely better than walking outside on a super hot day. My favorite store here is the Lego store. Yes, I got some pictures with the lego cowboy man outside of the lego store.

I barely ever get to Chicago and my husband wanted me to visit some stuff on the Magnificent Mile so we decided to explore one shopping center at a time. On our last visit we tackled the Water Tower Place, home of the American Girl Doll Place, an awesome Lego store and some fantastic pop-up stores. It was a lot for an anxious human to ingest, but I did enjoy myself. There are 8 levels to Water Tower Place and it's packed full with stores that will catch your eye. I honestly was obsessed with Squishable, with all of it's colorful and squishy stuffed items. One of the levels has mostly food options and there were some pretty good ones (we decided to eat later on so we didn't eat there). If you love shopping and haven't gotten the chance to come here, you're missing out on some great places.

I spend my 5 hours in this place. I also ate my lunch in here where I order ice cream, tacos, sandwich and some lemonade. Ice cream is so refreshing to eat. It was not too sweet that's while I like it. I also like their tacos where there are lot of meat and veggies on it. Their sandwich also good since it was flavorful and yummy. I don't like the lemonade since it was too sour for. I also enter on every store to bought and look for new clothes. I just bough pants and jacket. I like the fabric because it was 100 percent cotton. It is comfortable to wear. The only problem was its price because it was too expensive. After that I went again to food court to eat my snacks.

Stopped over this mall to check out some of the stores. Greeting me was another one of those famous K-9s in the lobby. It has a beautiful glass escalator which takes you to the 2nd floor. There are at least 7 levels to this wrap around mall. On the 2nd level there is an express elevator which will take you directly to the top floor where you will find Harry Carey's steakhouse and their sports museum. The mall is anchored by Macy's and a huge American Girl that covers two levels. Many of the stores are your typical mall type stores such as Victoria's Secret, Bath and body, Claire's, Coach, Pandora jewelry, Francesca's, Free people, and has some fast food. Course, I stopped over to see Henri Bendel-yep another chain based off the NY flagship which I have visited on W 57th St in NYC. Ended up with a Western style guitar strap for my main purse I use at home. The lady in the store was so nice that she gave me a Fed ex box and a prepaid return label if it didn't work out. Yes I paid the $.07 bag tax for my shopping bag. There is a small Amazon popup store right before the Lego exhibit of Chicago. I was blown away by the work they did on both the Willis Tower and the John Hancock building. The work on the skyline is incredible. If you are going for anything here make sure to see this exhibit. The Lego land store sits along side of it. Also worth mentioning is if you want to do that spurge for that Garrett popcorn they have it here. Finally there and access Chicago store in case you want to bring home the city's memorabilia. Water Tower Place sits right next to the Ritz Carlton hotel so if you take the elevator it can be a little confusing to find your way back to Michigan Ave. My advice-head to American Girl, ride the escalator to the ground floor and you'll be back in main lobby. You are very close to the Water Tower itself and they are plenty of eateries surrounding it.

Cool trendy mall dead smack in the heart of Michigan Avenue, downtown. They have a select amount of stores with the popular ones such as Victoria's Secret and Macy's, and then cool kiddie touristy stores like American Girl, Legoland, and some other boutique-ish stores. One of my few disappointments when I visited here a few weeks ago was that they closed down the Build-a-Bear store. My daughter and I were so sad! What makes this mall cool is the layout. From waterfall escalators that greet you at the entrance, to the glass elevators that take you to the very top. Definitely a cool venue to check out, specially if you're from out of town. There is also an awesome idea of a food court downstairs called Foodlife, located in the mezzanine level, along with Harry Carey's restaurant and the Sports Museum alongside it. You can even get your fix of the famous Chicago Style Mix of popcorn at Garrett's! If you're shopping along the Mag Mile, definitely make a stop here!

Always fun to stop at Water Tower... just avoid at the Holidays if you can. The place is busy on a normal day, but add in the Holidays and it's a madhouse!! Nice mall with a nice selection of stores as well as places to get food/drink. They've got a Macy's as their anchor store at ground level (and several floors up), and then the main mall itself which goes up numerous floors. There are the main escalators as well as the elevators (mainly for people with strollers, wheelchairs, etc). Nice to wander around here, especially if the chicago weather is either cold or rainy. Located at Northern end of Michigan Avenue.

Always fun to come to Water Tower Place. We ate lunch, shopped and even stopped for a glass of wine at Foodease. We come back to visit Chicago once a year and we always make an effort to stop by Water Tower Place.

This is a nice mall in the loop of downtown Chicago. There are I think 9 floors (smaller than other mall floors like Woodfield) and a nice selection of stores. A ton of security around which is good I guess considering how prone some stores can be to getting robbed in downtown Chicago. No teens after 4 without a guardian is also nice. The water tower escalator is cool!

This is a very nice mall. It's one of the nicest malls in Chicago. Parking is expensive at $26.00 an hour, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. This is an upscale mall with 7 floors and about 100 stores. Yes, this mall has swag with glass elevators and water fountains in between them. Due to its style and swank it's always crowded; over crowded is an understatement. This mall is where all the beautiful people go. This mall serves up so much for so many. They have the American Girl Store, the Lego Store, Build a Bear. I checked out the Lost Girls Vintage Popup. In other clothing store choices, there is an Akira, Tumi, Pink, Chicago sports, Locker room, Lids, Express, Gap, and Macy's. It's a great mall for shopping, eating or a few hours of people watching you won't be disappointed here. There's a little something for everyone!!

I have to say that having not been to Water Tower Place for years I was severely disappointed. I don't know what my expectations were, but floor after floor we kept advancing and realizing there was nothing interesting to see. This is just a typical mall with in my opinion, a sub-par selection of stores. My kid was happy with the Lego store, and I enjoyed quickly walking through the Dr. Seuss artwork store until I saw the prices and was terrified my son would breathe on one the wrong way ... All in all there just wasn't anything very compelling here beyond a typical mall ... think Forever 21, Victoria's Secret...ok stores I guess but I'm not on Michigan Ave for the same stores I can find in Woodfield Mall...

The entrance of the mall as you are heading up the electric escalators, has a 70's kind of smell. Not good at all. My husband does say that my sense of smell is very perceptive, but he agreed with me on this one. We went up to Bath and Bodyworks to pick up a few lip glosses. They are located on the 7th floor. When we got there I asked the cashier where their lip glosses were at, and he told me that they discontinued carrying them a few months ago. Very disappointed, because we specially made a trip out here just for those lip glosses and besides having a TINY pop up store, they no longer carry them. Well that was twice of a dissatisfaction here at this mall. The only thing we enjoyed from this trip, was the beautiful glass elevators (which take for ever to get to you) but there is beauty in this mall. Will not be coming back though. I think this mall needs a facelift for sure.

Who doesn't love to shop?! And this shopping center is uniquely designed. I love the fountains that line the steps when you walk in. The glass elevators with the LED lighting is pretty awesome too. They have a great selection of food and stores and there's a Starbucks so you can make sure you're awake enough to handle all the shopping. They have some impressive Lego artwork which is fun for everyone.

Not many stores left . I come here to enjoy quiet time while I walk around. It's very peaceful and serene . It's empty.

I try to avoid the typical holiday shopping materialism but I have to admit I LOVE how nicely decorated the malls are at Christmastime, and the music too. I don't like crowds really, but since I went to Bath/Body Works at 5:45 instead of 1pm, the crowd was reasonable.

This is a review for 2019 Santa Photos. I believe this is the best deal in town. We went on a weekday afternoon, and there was no line. Santa was very sweet. There is a virtual sleigh ride video for the family and the best part is that they give you all the photos (6 ) and the video of your virtual sleigh ride for one price. At $49 this is a great deal. I really like the Chicago water tower backgrounds in some pictures!

For the longest time I didn't realize this was a mall. It's pretty nice. It's very tall (7 floors) so be prepared to do a lot of walking or elevator/escalator riding. They have a surprising amount of good stores here. I really like the Hollister here. There is also a huge Forever 21 with a good selection of stuff. There's also a small board game/hobby shop on the 7th floor. No real food court but there are some limited food options here. If you go during the day when there is nobody at the mall, the couches are really nice to sit in and just relax.

Enormous, multi-level indoor mall right off the Mag Mile, that is home to roughly over a hundred stores. It's a Chicago staple, and if you've never been, it's definitely something to see. But if you've been before, and don't have a reason to visit, (ie a specific store) then there isn't any other reason to be there. Water Tower can get wild at peak times, like long-weekends and holidays. aka any time there are a lot of tourists in town. Found myself here this weekend because I needed to go to the Adidas store. And honestly the last few times I've been to Water Tower has been solely for the Adidas store! The mall itself can be a bit tricky to navigate. Entering through Michigan Ave and up the escalators will take you to floor two, and to get to to Foodlife, you have to go back down the escalators towards the back. Consult a map before wandering aimlessly through the mall when looking for a specific store. Overall, it's a very nice, clean mall, and with a great selections of stores for every type of person.

This mall has an interesting entrance from Michigan avenue. I just love the entrance to this mall. Especially when going up the staircase and watching the beads of water shoot through from the sides. It almost tempts you to try to catch the water as it jumps out on your way up the escalator. Besides the standard fare of shops the mall has some interesting features. Firstly, the food court is really good! They even serve Chicago style deep dish pizza here, which is surprisingly good. They have a great dr. Seuss collection. But the best part of the mall is the layout. Unlike many malls that are sprawled and two story, this is a traditional multi-story city mall and each floor provides something different and interesting. Also around this mall are lots of interesting places to eat and shop, like the Ghiradelli ice cream shop.

I feel very lucky to have a shopping mall like this in my neighborhood. The shopping and dining options are immense. Seven stories of shopping offers almost anything you are looking for. With Macy's and American Girl as your anchor stores and all of the regulars shoppers have come to love, Water Tower Place is downtown Chicago's shopping destination. The food court is like no other. You won't find a line of fast food options. There is a sit down restaurant, an eat in market, and a few other options on other floors. The mall is clean and safe. It is tall rather than wide like traditional malls. I think it makes it easier to cover. Each time I visit, I find a new addition to the shopping line up. There is a parking garage nearby and several bus stops in front on Michigan Avenue. I say taxi or Uber over because you'll have tons of shopping bags to drag home!

It's not like it used to big. This was once a pretty good tourist destination. Right now most of the stores are boring. If you happen to be in the area you might want to stop in but I wouldn't recommend a special trip.
