"Anchored in the heart of Virginia Beach’s oceanfront since 1981, Waterman’s remains a local favorite for fresh seafood and orange crushes built with vodka from woman-owned distillery Waterman Spirits." - Tierney Plumb, Adele Chapin

I popped in here on a busy Sunday morning for brunch & it was packed but the wait was not horrendous. While waiting I enjoyed sitting at the bar drinking lovely mimosas made with fresh squeezed orange juice! My table was soon available and next to the boardwalk with ocean front views. The outdoor seating was gratefully shielded from the days heat and intense sun. I ordered the exciting crab Benedict eggs - so good! Thanks to server Dawn for smiles and attentiveness.

My steak was cooked perfectly medium & seasoned perfectly as well with a buttery lightly salted flavor. Vegetables sauteed nicely and crab fries were good. The tuna bites were nice to try but nothing to special. Service was professional and food came out fast. Parking attendant was very pleasant as well. I'm sure I'll revisit in the future. 🌞

Absolutely gorgeous seafood restaurant with amazing valet parking. I've lived here over 50 years and never been to this outstanding establishment and boy have I been missing out on a true "Treasure of Tidewater"! This place has amazing staff with top rate customer service from the valet to the hostess to the waitress to the bartender to the busboy. There is also a wonderful store with exceptional merchandise located right in the restaurant. We're here for a wedding on the beach, but since we didn't get to eat lunch today we thought we'd have some appetizers to hold us over until the reception at 6 pm this evening. The wedding is at 4 pm and we were here shortly after 2 pm. The decor is beautiful and the food was exceptional! We had the Bacon-wrapped scallops, spicy buffalo tuna bites, and fries smothered in bacon. Everything was delicious! My daughter had a Ruby Red Crush which she said was delicious too and oh so tart!

The happy hour specials, although earlier than most, are an excellent deal. The seafood here is great. The classic orange crush is the perfect happy hour beverage for a hot summer day. They also let you take home the Waterman’s branded cups which was a fun souvenir. They offer the recipe to a cake using the Waterman’s brand spirits. We are excited to give that a try back home. This place is a mandatory visit for any vacationers passing through.

The perfect place to chill and eat while relaxing next to the beach. Arrived around 5:45 and still had a 15-20 minute wait, the place was packed! Great atmosphere though, it definitely seems like THE place people eat at around here. Highly recommend an orange crush, that's what they're known for. The fries with crab dip was worth it, made with plenty of crab. I had the tuna, lightly seared/rare, extremely tasteful, so much so that my wife switched dishes with me. The pasta was just average, nothing special. The waitress wasn't too attentive, but understandable since the place was so busy. However, if we asked for something, they were pretty quick! Overall, very satisfied!

Surprisingly the BBQ ribs is the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t expect a seafood restaurant has the best BBQ ribs 😁 The BBQ shrimp is cooked perfectly too. The she crab soup is delicious. The lobster tail is cooked perfectly. It’s tender and juicy.

We were in the area and stumbled across this restaurant. I am glad we did. Nice view of the beach, right on the boardwalk. The food was great, and we're large portions. The server was very nice and very informative and attentive. Drinks were good. I highly recommend it. I will be back when I return.

Well look who is back out enjoying some great food… that’s right it’s The Hood! So first time to this place and well… it was awesome. Let’s start off by saying it was very busy and we had a wait time of 45 minutes. But don’t let that stop you they take your number and text you when your table is ready. So take that time and sit on the boardwalk and look and listen to the ocean. They give you a couple of minutes to get there. Now let’s start with service - it was excellent our server was very busy actually I believe had a very large party to wait on also. But that didn’t stop her she was always asking if we needed anything and kept the drinks full. Food - phenomenal The Hood had a spicy pasta with sausage, scallops and shrimp in a nice sauce it was incredible. My peep had a 12 oz steak which melts in your mouth. Atmosphere- well it was busy but it was still awesome my peep and I had a good conversation. So bottom line is this go check this place out tell them The Hood sent ya. You won’t get a discount but you will get great service and food! Remember be kind to each and follow the Hood for great food adventures. Sorry about the photos the Hood was hungry! Food adventure is out there!
