We had a really nice lunch here. The vegetable platter was delicious and the grilled veggies were done to perfection. We also had french fries with dipping sauce, which were pretty good. And the broccoli with lemon was also quite delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and accommodated our special drink requests. She had really good energy and we felt was the perfect amount of engaged yet giving us space. Overall, a pretty good experience.

It was a great experience enjoying our dinner and celebrating our friend’s birthday 🥳 The host was very friendly and helpful. Every other dish both vegetarian and pescatarian was very sumptuous and delicious. Lively ambiance and great food.

We absolutely loved Watershed tonight. After a lovely coastal hike, we were so happy to find this gem of a place. Glad we didn’t let the mediocre reviews discourage us from coming! Not sure what others are thinking, but we felt the food, service and ambiance were wonderful. The summer goddess salad was incredible and so well crafted. The burger and fries were perfectly delicious, and the grilled vegetable plate was amazing. The pesto pizza was super! Incredible crust. Their wine menu was thoughtful and we loved the reds we chose. All in all, Watershed feels like a cozy, local spot with so much care and intention put into practice. New favorite!

Definitely feels like a neighborhood go-to inside the buzzing Lumber Yard complex. Quaint indoor outdoor spot for lunch or a later afternoon cocktail. Seasonal specials like a yummy strawberry margarita. Loved the trout fish dip appetizer, but didn’t try any of the other dishes. They’re associated with the wine shop next door, where you can purchase bottles for consumption at the restaurant. Would be a fun place to host an event!

I adore this establishment. I've visited on two consecutive weekends and cannot get enough of the 6 oysters for $20 deal, which is absolutely fantastic. I've indulged in both the cheeseburger and SHAKSHUKA, and they were both superb. The tomato sauce on the SHAKSHUKA is exceptionally rich and the portion size is perfect. The cheeseburger is also mouthwatering, and I appreciate how fresh and healthy all the food tastes. The seating area is plentiful, and it doesn't take long to locate a desirable spot. The ambiance and views are genuinely charming. The scent of the pine trees permeates the air, and the sound of birds chirping in the distance adds to the serene atmosphere. Observing the cyclists and tourists is an enjoyable pastime. On my latest visit, I was pleasantly surprised by live folk music. In conclusion, The Watershed is an absolute gem.

Google
This is a nice place built along the creek near downtown Mill Valley at the location of an old hardware store. They did a stylish job refurbishing it with many adjacent trendy stores, wine tasting places, etc.. the food is well prepared and tasty. The waiter was very attentive without overbearing, friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I had the pork ribs and they were off the bone tender and seasoned with a Thai spice just right. Not dripping with sauce. Dessert was an exceptional cheesecake, light and airy with wild blueberry on top. Nice dinner with my wife!

Google
Great place with chill vibe to hang out with your friends or family! It’s hided on the way to mill valley, with couple others local food and stores. The outside seating was amazing to enjoy the sun with shades provided by trees, fresh air with tree and flower sense. Ordering a drink with some dish can make your day! Food was okay with a bit salty.

Google
This place is pretty popular with the locals and you may feel like you’re intruding on a private gathering, but the food is amazing and the service was great! My wife had the only burger on the menu and said it was the best she had ever had. I had one of the pizzas and it was amazing, it had these little mushrooms I’ve never seen on a pizza and they were delicious. We were sitting in the sun, and they don’t cool the place, so it was a little warm, but we really enjoyed the experience overall. Oh, our server was awesome!

Alyssa B.

Yelp
Customer service was good, I feel it could have been better. We sat down by the fire to look at the menu and the server came to us with a sort of unwelcome approach. As if he maybe thought we were just there to sit by the fire. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich without the pesto and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend! The fireplace is a nice touch to the restaurant. The lady I ordered with provided water while we waited for our food.

Yelp
On my recent trip to San Francisco, my friend and I dined here while having a beautiful idyllic day, exploring Mill valley and everything that beautiful neighborhood has to offer. We were strolling around Mill Valley lumberyard and chose to have dinner at this restaurant. Service was quick and efficient, I ordered myself the hanger steak salad, and my friend ordered the pizza. We decided to split the smoked fish dip. There are a few improvements that can be made to the food here. My hanger steak was cooked very well, although I do wish the beef was a little bit better seasoned. Not a lot of thought went into the bed of greens that the meat came on. I think arugula mixed with the greens would have been tastier. The dressing was also not very good and my entire salad was swimming in olive oil. This dish definitely needs improvement. The pizza tasted fresh and had shaved zucchini on it, which was a good touch however, I do feel that it should've been finished with some sort of sauce drizzle like pesto or something to jazz up this dish. It also needed salt. Now I am the biggest smoked fish dip or any fish dip freak. I absolutely go crazy for a creamy fishy dip situation to dunk a crunchy vessel in. The dip here did leave a little to desire. First of all the dairy to fish ratio was definitely very dairy heavy. This definitely needed a lot more fish in it and bigger chunks as well. I also needed more flavor like acidity to cut through the richness of the dip. I hope this place can make some improvements to their food based on my feedback. I can imagine sitting here and eating being an absolute treat in the right weather on a sunny day. The location of this restaurant cannot be beat.

Yelp
I was there for a late business lunch and the place was pretty empty. It felt rustic. I had a swim club pizza, which had a kick, and was quite tasty. However, there were a number of flies that constantly bothered us while we were there.

Alison K.

Yelp
Cute place, it does get packed so definitely make reservations. The fries are yummy! I've tried the pizza and a seasonal fettuccini they had both were good, but the true star was the dip...the smoked trout dip. 10/10 on the dip

Yelp
I am forced yet again to leave another subpar review and it's always relating to the service here. Having given up on table dining due to service issues, my husband and I found it a fun pastime to sit at the bar, have a few drinks and apps and call it good. We enjoy the bartenders and really only stay about an hour or hour and a half. The other night though we arrived early - 5:15 - and found the bar full. While trying to figure out our options, two people left so we hurried to grab their seats at the bar only to find a "reserved" sign at the bar. I asked the bartender what the desk was and who reserved bar seats and she said the hostess. We were told we could sit there but had to leave at 5:45pm. The hostess then proceeded to stare us down, pace back and forth behind us and insist to the bartender that we leave promoting at 5:45. This is not the first time this hostess has been rude or dismissive and in fact, we have witnessed many arguments between her and the bartenders and cook staff over the past couple of years. The net of this is: reserving bar seats is in such poor taste but to also have a beyond snippy hostess at the elm is the worst.

Yelp
Overall our experience was fairly pleasant- Watershed is a nice restaurant with lots of outdoor seating and open air, casual with friendly waitstaff. My boyfriend and I shared a mushroom pizza and it was just alright- the middle of the pizza/tips of the slices were quite wet- like cheese falling off and hard to hold wet. The mushrooms used were unique.... they had an interesting chemical-y taste that wasn't my favorite, similar to goat cheese almost? And I definitely got some sand/soil in a bite of mushroom that was a bit unpleasant. Otherwise the crust was good! $24 (pre tax/tip) pizza was enough for us two to split and feel full, and there was an additional 4% fair wage surcharge. Parking can be tricky as the Lumber Yard area it's located at mostly has parking along the road leading to it, we had to walk about 5-10 minutes along a pretty busy road from our spot to the restaurant.

Daria G.

Yelp
I've had ok experiences here. Both times I had a vegetarian option here it did not taste great and also did not feel fresh. That being said, can't speak to the meat-eaters experience. Points for location, I love the little lumber yard area in Mill Valley, outdoor seating is pleasant.

Yelp
WHEN: Sat @7pm PARKING: This location has free parking options off the premises if their lot is full. Luckily it's surrounded by neighborhoods you can easily find safe parking for free. We made the mistake by not making reservations, and they have odd tables in front that is first come first serve. This was explained very clearly and the hostess seemed unfriendly/annoyed. It's a busy restaurant. It's was quite a wait since we wanted outdoor seating (half hour?). We ended up sharing a long table outside wither a large group, sitting at the end, and it was fine. Here's what we had: PEACH PIE - $24 yellow peach, pancetta, mozzarella, pt reyes blue, honey, arugula. You know the kind of pizza where you pull out a slice and you leave a trail of stretched cheese like in the cartoons? This totally does that, but it's a fancy pizza! It's as pretty good, with all the sweets and savories, raw and cooked ingredients, and the various textures. It's small though...I feel this can feed one person. MARIN ROOTS BABY LETTUCES - $15 strawberries, hazelnut, honey banyuls vinaigrette, fines herbs, frisee, mezzo secco jack. We were brought the wrong order, but it's no biggy, I should have spoken up more clearly. Surprise how the first ingredient is strawberries yet there was hardly any of it. Love the crunch from the hazelnuts sand this salad was thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was kind, and we enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere. This feels a bit more fancy than what we usually do, yet to most I'm sure it's super casual (I see families dine here). I wouldn't mind coming back esp for a cocktail perhaps and to try the pasta next time!

Steph C.

Yelp
Came here after a hike in the area for lunch and cocktails. Looks like the cocktail menu rotates as I can't find the menu online. We got the tequila/mezcal and spritz cocktails which were both were super strong and tasty. As for food we ordered the peach pie pizza since it's stone fruit season and enjoyed the flavors. We also ordered the little gem salad which was ok - portion was on the smaller side and as a personal preference the sunflower seeds could have been toasted. Other than that, service was prompt and quick. We enjoyed the outside patio and sunshine and got to people and dog watch and peruse the stores nearby after. It was a nice day.

James G.

Yelp
Yes, lord. This place was amazing. The ambiance is super cute as you're in the middle of a restored mill area nestled in the heart of Marin's lush landscapes. This outdoor gem offers a casual but refined dining experience. The atmosphere is a harmonious blend of nature's symphony and rustic elegance, with wooden accents and cozy fire pits casting a warm glow under the evening sky. As for dining, the menu boasts a fusion of local, farm-fresh ingredients, crafting culinary masterpieces that elevate traditional flavors - aka I loved my grilled cheese with tomato bisque soup. And my friend got the gem salad with smoked trout. Yum! The service is also a seamless blend of attentiveness and unobtrusiveness. A little expensive but overall this outdoor haven is a must-visit for those seeking a perfect harmony of nature, delectable cuisine, and attentive service.

Yelp
On my recent trip to Marin, my family took me to Watershed and we had a delicious dinner. The Pork Chop was soooo good and the smoked trout dip and bone marrow toast was something I will be getting again for sure on my next trip ! yum!! Beautiful grounds and setting. Stop by Eddy Bar and Bottle next door for some wine! Best wine bar!

Jen S.

Yelp
What a neat little area! We decided to eat here on our way to Muir Woods. The food was phenomenal and it was evident the locals eat here as well which is always a good sign! My vegetarian plate was excellent! They clearly make their own herbed yogurt and flatbread, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and it was just the right size. My husband had the ribs and you could tell they were slow cooked- meat fell off the bone but not too much. Atmosphere is great. Staff are great. Definitely worth a stop for something different and local!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Watershed is the kind of place that makes you wish you stayed home for lunch or dinner. The food is nothing special and so overpriced. I shared a cheeseburger with my friend and the table got another side of fries (which seemed like they had been frozen) and a side brussel sprouts. I had an ice tea and my portion was $42. The only aspect worth going to Watershed is the old lumber yard, which is a really nice atmosphere. I suggest going for a cocktail or a beer but go home and make dinner.

Purple Daffodil S.

Yelp
How do you ruin a hamburger? Let me count the ways. You serve it medium well when it was ordered medium rare. You do nothing to the bun except remove it from the package it shipped in. (Put it under the grill for a minute...?) The only condiment you serve it with is ketchup--neither mayonnaise nor Thousand Island dressing, which has mayo in it. And you do nothing whatsoever to season the meat. I keep my burger consumption to a minimum and was reluctant to spend 20 bucks on a burger but looked forward to this special treat. Oh, well...

Linda C.

Yelp
Overall A+: Lovely local place, food amazing, service great, sat outside under heat lamp cozily observing cyclists, tourists, locals. Trout dip app, goddess salad, crab pasta, bourbon and gin cocktails. Highly recommend.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner and wanted to sit on the patio with my pup. There are some rules regarding the patio like how the servers aren't allowed to personally serve dishes to the tables past a certain point which I thought was weird. The heater also had issues so overall sitting on the patio was uncomfortable. I got the crab pasta and the Hanger steak. The crab pasta was decent, it was packed with fresh crab which I really liked. The Hanger Steak was a pass for me, I ordered it medium and the steak came out rare. It wasn't seasoned the best either but I did enjoy the various veggies it came with.

Yelp
This place is located in a really well done shopping and restaurant venue that is called the lumberyard. They did really nice job and keeping that "living in the mountain feeling". We are welcome by a young man by the name of Tony, and then assisted by another young man Israel. They were both very pleasant and very attentive. I ordered the peach pizza which is a seasonal plate and my friend ordered the shaShuka. The pizza was amazing!!

Shirley M. F.

Yelp
2/20/2023: My first born daughter, Joy took me to lunch at Watershed for my birthday. I wasn't hungry; I opted eating a delicious salad only . . . The Wait Staff were exceptionally professional, accommodating as well as very kind and humble, i.e., my kind of loving human beings! Aside, Watershed's ambiance was rustic and tranquil including, the entire property exuded a majestic landscape reminiscent to Yosemite Valley. I surely will return.

Yelp
I've been here at least 10 times. I really like the location, setting and decor. I've always been pleased with the food and the experience. But this time everything fell short. Granted is was a Saturday evening and they were mobbed. First they seated the three of us at a table for 4. After a while they came and said our table was reserved for another party that had four and they wanted us to move to another table. They put us in the blazing sun a few tables away. The new people that came to our old table were only three people. I watched them all evening and they never had a 4th arrive. The service was soooo slow. It took 30 minutes before our drinks arrived. The salad I ordered I requested "a tiny bit of dressing, hardly any". I said it two times when ordering for emphasis. The salad I got was covering in blobs of dressing that pooled all over the plate bottom. It was inedible. That's sort of how the whole evening went. Small mess ups throughout. I wish this place could more ably handle crowds. They deserve to be better.

Mantell B.

Yelp
Ambiance was beautiful, but, but that's where the positives ends. Portion size of the chicken sandwich was the size of a chicken nugget. Pizza & hamburger was bland I don't think they're familiar with seasoning. Ordered an extra pickle with the burger, when the waitress came for the check she made a smart remark b/c 1 of the pickles weren't eaten.

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
I love the ambiance of this restaurant and the mill valley lumber yard. It's nice that you are able to order at the front and then sit outside on picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, or fire pits. With that said, the drinks and food are highly overpriced. Portions are small and while the food is decent, I feel like I could get the equivalent somewhere else in town for a cheaper price. An IPA beer is $14 and an appetizer is in the $20 range. Unfortunately, the vibes of this restaurant cannot make up for its deficiencies.

Allie G.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to stop by Watershed for dinner on our way back from visiting Muir Woods (found it on Yelp). It was a Sunday evening, and we were able to get seated right away at an indoor table. First off, the whole lumberyard was incredibly cute and the ambiance at Watershed was fantastic. The front patio had a huge fire pit, propane heaters, string lights, and a whole bunch of dogs. The inside was a little bit less memorable but we were cold and didn't feel like ordering at the counter (indoors had waiter service). We skipped drinks, although the cocktail menu did look good, and went straight to food. I ordered the Bone Marrow Toast and Root Vegetable Soup (I think it was pumpkin) off the starters section and my friend got the Cheeseburger. Both my items were absolutely fantastic and SO autumnal. The soup was creamy and incredibly flavorful and the toast was decadent and tasty. However, my friend said her Cheeseburger was very standard, so the starters might be the highlight of the menu. Service was fast and our server Cristine was an absolute sweetheart. Would return to try more!

John L.

Yelp
Facilities are good, nice outside seating area. Service didn't feel very attentive for our group of five seniors. No offer of cheese for my pasta, maybe expecting better for price point. Otherwise,Food was fine overall.

Audrey ..

Yelp
Dog and Kid friendly place to rest and eat after spectacular scenic hiking. Parking was easy on a weekend. Converted historical milling buildings add to the charm. There are 2 choices for dining: -you can order food to go and bring and sit at the fire pits and Andironick lounge chair area for self service. -you can dine indoors or sit at the long bar height wood "reserved" tables outside where you can order food and drinks off menu. We were very comfortable & cozy at the bar height tables under the heat lamps. The thin crispy pizza crust contrasted well with the nice fusion of sausage, caramelized onion toppings...the brioche bun was sweet and contrasted well with crispy battered chicken and aioli slaw. Nice ambiance... fun place for people and dog watching...browsing neighbor (flower, toy bakery ) shops...

M C.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is great. It's cozy and kid and dog friendly and service is good. There have been a few misses and overreaches on dishes that just don't work (e.g., bone marrow toast, which I normally love, but here is overcomplicated by too many competing/masking flavors--all you need is salt). The squid and beans on one occasion was fantastic and on another lacking in squid--they must have run out. All in all, highly recommended with a good and diversified wine selections. They should add oysters and more simple offerings so it's not so hit or miss.

Mr C.

Yelp
Three of us went for dinner Friday night I approached the hostess and didn't get a greeting of any kind., just a sour look from the middle-aged woman with the nose piercing. She kind of gave me a look when I said three and didn't have reservation, but whatever...... we didn't have to wait very long for a table, but we did wait a while before the waitress came over to even take our drink order so we went ahead and ordered our food at that point. We very much enjoyed our pizzas, but the waitress never came by again to try and get us to order another drink or see how we were doing. She did offer dessert at the end of the meal and she was pleasant and perhaps she had too many tables --not sure. It's a nice casual setting and the weather was beautiful so it was fun to sit outside. Would come back while hoping management tweaks the service. Three and half stars

Thomas B.

Yelp
Amazing location. And Tony made us immediately welcome. Honestly everyone did. There is a special energy in this place that is very palpable and wonderful. People are very happy that work here and they share with their customers. Let This place is a little magical if you take a minute to consider its history and what it is today. And be sure to take The Secret walk behind the buildings along the Creek and enjoy a moment sitting there watching the wildlife. Let me go back 30 years. I remember building a deck on the front of my old house and going down to the Mill Valley lumber yard and selecting the finest heart Redwood ever and taking it home and building a wonderful wonderful deck that I spent literally hundreds of hours on just enjoying the view. Now fast forward to today. As we walked through the collection of buildings, shops, restaurants, bakeries, and we stopped at Watershed to get something off the menu. They were very busy then we hit their choice of indoor or outdoor. We chose indoor because sitting was easier to find. But it only added to the fun. Because they were playing this wonderful Latin music and I felt like dancing with my wife. She's so sweet. Anyway we were greeted by everyone that we came in contact with there. It was easy to order off the menu because we had plenty of people ready to help us. For some reason today we were both craving hamburgers. And I was not disappointed actually neither of us were. We got it with a side of fries and and we asked them if they could give us a little plate of pickles for our Burger. I had the Stemple Creek Ranch cheeseburger with grilled red onions and bacon, and my wife had a regular. It came out and looked like a road show. It was big. They had a beautiful brioche bun sitting on top of it, cooked to perfection. The presentation was all eye appeal. Sitting there with its perfectly sliced snacks and stacks of and stacks of potato chips and we had French fries on the side which came with ketchup and and another container with a mustard dip that was made I think with sour cream German Brown mustard seeds and it was delicious. I cooled down with a glass of Old Rasputin stout beer (North Coast) which came draught, wonderfully creamy on the top it was nitrous but I enjoyed it as if I was sitting in Ireland. I almost forgot to mention that the French fries were perfection. They were big and chunky and I had my doubts they would be that good but they were. They were crispy and crunchy on the outside and creamy in the middle. We ate him. We Adam with a Passion that was embarrassing. I would go back there for beer and French fries if I wasn't hungry for dinner. And after all of that I still had enough room to order the pistachio gelato by Double 8 Dairy. And if I read correctly, was made with Buffalo milk. Service cleanliness quality of project were all spot on I would recommend this place in a minute. Would I cross from the East Bay where I live to mill melvalley again to have a Burger at this place. Easy answer, of course I would. Way to go Team Watershed.

Yelp
My partner and I were looking for a nice dinner spot in Marin County and came across Watershed through Yelp. The food looked amazing, so we decided to give this spot a try. At first glance, this place gives off such an awesome vibe! It's located inside a really cute rustic-themed plaza. There's a bakery nearby, some clothing shops, studios, and more. I wish we had time to explore this plaza more, but because we came here around dinner time, everything was pretty much closed. There's also parking available all around, so I don't think parking will be an issue. We arrived around dinner peak hour time on a Sunday, but thankfully, there were plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so it didn't take too long to find a spot. How it works is, you place your order at with the employee at the small counter first, pay, and they'll provide you with a table number, and you'll have to find an open table for yourself/party. Watershed takes reservations, so if you don't want to wait, make sure you make a reservation in advance. This place was pretty packed after all. The line to place your order moves a bit slow, but finding a seat doesn't take long. We placed an order for Hanger Steak Salad, Wood Grilled Half Chicken, and North Coast Black Cod. For drinks, I went for the Arnold Palmer because it's currently my go-to drink, haha. Can't ever go wrong with it and it's refreshing! My partner went for a Bootjack Sour. The thing that didn't sit so well with us was that no one told us that our food would be placed on a separate table when it's ready. Apparently, employees arent allowed to take the food out beyond a certain point, but thankfully someone did tell us after seeing our food sit out for a bit. It was still warm though, phew! Although service is a tad weird and iffy, the food was great. The highlight of the Hanger Steak Salad is of course, the pieces of steak! These were juicy and cooked medium rare. The slices of avocado were perfectly ripe, without any browning in sight. The ingredients are few and simple, but there's a lot of flavors going on with this salad. Next up, the Wood Grilled Half Chicken. I'm surprised at the portion of this dish! They were really generous with chicken they included! The skin is a bit crispy, but the chicken wasn't dry. It went well with the veggies. The polenta is interesting. It wasn't bad at all, but I'm not sure I like it. Last but not least, the North Coast Black Cod. This wow'd the both of us, haha! The cod was flaky, and it's got the melt-in-your-touch kinda feeling to it. It was just super delicious. The dashi broth was savory and having it in soup was like eating bits of comfort. I loved the veggies paired with this dish as well. It's light and just slightly crunchy. We both agreed that this dish was definitely the star of the night! Would we be coming back? Maybe! Vibes are definitely cute, but we'll probably make a reservation next time if we do come back for another visit!

Yelp
We visited the Watershed sort of by chance on our bonus day after a wedding before heading back to the Midwest. We hiked through the majestic redwoods at Muir Woods and then wanted to find a cute place with a neat vibe to visit nearby after our hike. The Lumber Yard was our destination and after working up an appetite on our hike, our friends made a B-line straight to the hostess stand. Let me just say we were hoping for, but not expecting to stumble upon a 5-star restaurant! At first, I was impressed by all the fancy words on the menu and how delicious all the random food pairings sounded. When I started looking up the the words I found it slightly humorous that "braised pork sugo, soffrito, green olive, marash pepper, grana padana" was actually just pasta with red sauce, crushed red pepper, and Parmesan cheese sprinkled over top... then I just thought they were being pretentious. The four of us decided to order something slightly different so we could try more of the menu overall. That's when I was blown away. I had heard the steak salad was amazing, their best selling menu item... so that's what I got. I got to sample the Burning Love pizza (so good!) the burger (wow! Char grilled and juicy) and the Chitarra pasta - that one took the medal for me!!! So creamy, buttery, sweet and delicious! Delectable! Real giant chunks of crab meat. But the salad was a great compliment to it. The lettuce was crisp, and cool and fresh. Microgreens that we're fresh and vibrant, among the beautiful colors of the tomatoes, the olives... the flavor combos were next level. WELL-DONE Watershed! Oh, and drink menu had plenty of delicious options. Loved the ghosttown hazy ipa. I wish this place existed in my hometown. We would be regulars, for sure! Can't wait to come back and visit one day... we will definitely be back!

Kristin L.

Yelp
I will dream of this steak salad! It was spectacular! Loved the casual vibe outside. Great service

Neen F.

Yelp
Great appetizers, drinks, and meal options. Everything was delicious. Staff was extremely nice and professional. I cannot wait to go back!

Alex P.

Yelp
Appreciate this place for what it is - casual, unassuming, with warm and attentive service, elevated food, and cocktails. We've been here over dozen of times since moving to Marin. And it has become the consistent go-to restaurant for our family. Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Bar: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Tip: Dining at the bar is a great experience and there is no wait. Simply skip the line and head straight to the bar. The bar staff is attentive and friendly.

David S.

Yelp
Today I went and had a Chicken Sandwich, I honestly went in not expecting much and enjoyed the experience fully! The sandwich was delicious from the combination of greatly prepared ingredients. It's a different taken the the usual hyped up spicy chicken sandwich with the Louisiana take. Not knocking it but the brioche aioli spread chicken and I believe provolone was a great take and on flavors! Not sure if it was because I was starving and the service was great but ILooking forward to going back and trying the rest of the dishes!

Jaclyn M.

Yelp
My family and I came here after hiking Mount Tam for my birthday! They don't take reservations during lunch time, so we were very lucky to be able to get a table! This is a beautiful place to hang out; with plenty of outdoor seating, unique shops to step into to, and even a couple of dessert options as well! S E R V I C E: The guy who helped us get a table was very nice. We had to wait 15 minutes, and he even went out to look for us to let us know it was ready! Our waitress however, wasn't very helpful, nor did she seem like she cared. She seemed annoyed when she had to come back 3x to check if we were ready to order (there was a group of 11 of us, plus toddlers) and when we asked her recommendations for drinks, she said she "didn't know." F O O D: Prices are pretty standard for this area - don't expect any main dish to be below $15 or so. I ordered their grilled cheese sandwich and it came with a salad. The grilled cheese was pretty tasty - there was some pesto and I do love my grilled cheese sandwiches with white cheese. I wish it came with fries and a different salad dressing, but I did enjoy my meal. My family members who ordered the burgers say it was missing something, but they did like the pizza they ordered. O V E R A L L: The area is beautiful, and I would definitely come back again for a stroll because of the location. Food was okay - maybe I'll try their other dishes some time.

Yelp
Cafe is in a great location, which it was better managed. We placed an order and waited much longer than others. The people who ordered before us with a similar order were done before we got any food. When they brought our partial order, we asked where the rest of our order was, they said it was coming. Fast forward 20 min (nearly an hour after we ordered) and we went to check on the food. The order was never even submitted or given to the wrong table. We had to wait for them to remake it and take it to-go. The host didn't take accountability, was defensive and didn't even try to make the situation better. She ultimately gave some burrata when we left and it was pure liquid and not edible. Would not come back. Rude and poor service. Okay food.

Yelp
The food was ok. What really got to us was the sub-par service and automatically tacked on 20% gratuity. Make sure you count how many babies are being served as this plays into their headcount per table!

Yelp
Really good food but awful service. Came in with a group of almost 20, and they very much treated us like they didn't want us there - namely, the older woman who took our drink orders and who later kept trying to push us out. Rushed us through and through and was rude about it. Started cleaning many of my colleagues' plates while they were in the middle of still eating. Not sure why we were treated this way because we are a respectful group of educators. Won't be coming back

Yelp
Very very expensive and the crowd is not my cuppa tea, noisy, uncontrolled kids often, loud obnoxious folks quite often drive me away which is aided by the (at time of tasting, less-than desirable) beer selection and over-priced, over-soggy French fries. Sad. Just go downtown to Boo Koo (yummy taps, even cider), the Depot (great prices on tap beer, especially happy hour) or Sweetwater/Rock & Rye (great ambiance, pricey but chill place and great service)!

Yelp
We arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday for an early dinner and had a pleasant experience. The food was good, the service was decent, and the outdoor seating was lovely. Our family of three - 2 adults and 1 child - shared the following: 1) Pepperoni and olive pizza - good for kids; solid, but nothing exceptional 2) Pork sugo - very flavorful - our favorite dish 3) Chitara pasta with crab - good 4) Thick cut fries - tasty I enjoyed the house white wine, but my husband was not a fan. The service was all right. They took a while to take our orders, but the food came out fairly quickly. We really enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio on a warm Saturday in the late afternoon and early evening. Overall, we had a pleasant evening.

Yelp
Tried burger and steak, will recommend. Restaurant is located at nice little shopping area with nice outdoor sitting. Do not order the cheesecake, very disappointing.

Yelp
We've been to watershed a few times and the food is delicious. Pizzas, pastas, salads-5 . My beef (no pun intended) is the portion to price ratio. The pastas are the size of what should be appetizers but you're charged as a main. And at $26-36 a dish that's robbery. We always end up ordering one more item to satisfy our hunger, which adds to the insanity and insult. Service tends to be hit and miss depending on the server which these days seems normal but again for the price the bar should be a bit higher

Yelp
Whether indoor, or out, the Watershed has a great vibe. Casual yet upscale, you order the grub, wine, or beer at a side door and grab a number, then it's delivered to you. The menu is small, and seasonal. Packed with pizza, salads, sandwiches, a burger, a couple of pastas, a steak, a fish, a chicken, a veggie plate -- about a dozen items total plus 10 pizzas. I suppose, something for everyone. I tried the Hanger Steak Salad [$25, 4.5 stars] -- Gems, Sweet Onion, Olive Tapenade, Avocado, Cherry Tomato with the most delicious sliced steak and dressing. I loved it! It would had a perfect score, but taking off a little for the very small amount of steak (3-4 oz). The have some great beers, and I tried a couple of different ones...and loved. Recommended.

Yelp
This is a cute little cafe space in the lumberyard. Park around the street - plenty when we arrived on a Monday night, but I could see parking being a challenge on busier days. We made a reservation online, but tons of open tables. Quick and polite service - we immediately got our waters and put our drink orders in. They have a fun wine list that has more than just your standard cabs and merlots. It was nice to try a different varietal and they had full pours. The salmon itself was really tasty (nice crisp on the skin), but the broth was bland and a too watery, and the rice serving was small and disappeared into the broth. The clam and shrimp were good, but there was too much going on in the dish. If they gave more rice, thicker broth, and kept it to the salmon, it would have been great. My father in law got the veggie plate and he loved it. The mix of the lentils and yogurt was tasty and the flatbread added a little more density to the meal. LOTS of veggies in the plate if you're hoping to get your greens in. The cheesecake was okay - you could tell it wasn't too fresh, or maybe it was baked a little too long. Either way, it was a nice way to satisfy a sweet tooth, but I don't think I'll be craving it anytime soon.

Yelp
I adore this outdoor space in Mill Valley. So many cute shops to browse and dine at. Watershed has delicious food with seasonal ingredients, with a modern but casual, farm to fork type of vibe. Chicken sandwich was my favorite, and the mushroom/sausage pizza was my boyfriend's favorite, so we were two happy campers. Pimms cup and Paloma were good but a little watered down. You order at the door, then take a number and find your own seating. Seating outdoors was mostly "reserved" and it was difficult to find a seat on a Saturday early lunch time. Overall, a lovely vibe and we can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Dining here for dinner with friends who live in Marin and who previously wanted to try this place but never had the opportunity to go. Reservations were made for an early dinner on a rainy evening hence we had no problems parking in front of their restaurant. There were several guests seated at their counter bar area along with some others who were seated for dining. First impressions were that the inside gave a nice warm feeling with lots of rich wood giving it a rustic feel which fits nicely with that Marin woodsy feel. Pictured are the cheeseburger with grilled onions and fries on a potato bun, the little gem salad. Unfortunately the tagliatelle pasta pic did not come out but understand it was a rich creamy dish. This was a small friendly restaurant where locals come to dine for comfort food as well as a small selection of specialty pizzas.

Yelp
This place is always hustling with a fun vibe and excellent local food. The natural wine list is full of hidden gems by the glass and there's a cracking little wine shop next door to buy a bottle or two. The pizzas are great with 'Pesto & Friends' being my personal favorite. There is a full bar and an ever changing local beer selection on tap The restaurant is beautifully appointed with reclaimed wood and huge windows overlooking a creek that runs under the restaurant itself. It's totally worth a visit !

Yelp
From entrance to exit, Watershed hits all the right marks, in the right ways. The building and area itself is warm and welcoming, inviting diners into what used to be an old lumber mill (the restaurant has that kind of feel within the current design, too). The outdoor seating is fantastic, but if you want a more personal experience you can always sit at the bar or inside. The servers and bussers are consistently kind and thoughtful, rarely overstepping. The vibe from the staff is overall very positive. The food is AMAZING! Any of the pizzas are a great way to start if sharing with others, and the cocktails/draft beers are incredibly delicious (I highly recommend the bootjack sour, if you like a classic whiskey sour). The burger is great, so are the fries, and the tagliatelle crab pasta was mouth watering and unforgettable. Whenever you're in Mill Valley, whether you live there or are just stopping by, Watershed is a non-negotiable, must try restaurant. Simple delightful.

Yelp
Still one of my Mill Valley favorite stops for lunch or early dinner with plenty of outdoor seating. Favorites include the light but hearty hanger steak salad, the pizza & the rib appetizer. Nice setting in the retrofitted and updated Mill Valley Mill slash shopping center. Fun and casual place to grab a bite outside with beer or a glass of wine in Mill Valley.

Yelp
Fantastic food in a beautiful space. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I had a tangy blood orange margarita to start with very tasty grilled sardines on toast with greens. Then I popped next door to a great wine store to grab a bottle from the helpful sommelier to enjoy with my main course: freshly-made pasta with Dungeness crab. It was absolutely perfect. The pasta had just the right amount of chew and the crab was wonderful. It's a beautiful space in a grove of trees with lots of free parking.
