This restaurant is located in the hotel. Great view to the water. A lot of afterwork gatherings. Was disappointed with the food. Friend Calamari was oily and so little, the burger was supposed to be medium instead of medium rare but it was DELICIOUS, Cobb salad was a fraud-chicken was dry, couldn’t find the bacon just sad! Dessert crumbled was so watery my gosh! I would go back for the burger for sure.

The best Easter brunch experience combines a delightful array of delicious food, exceptional service, and a dedicated manager who ensures everything runs smoothly. Picture a festive spread featuring beautifully arranged dishes such as fluffy pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, rich quiches filled with fresh vegetables and savory cheeses, and a variety of mouthwatering pastries. The attentive staff provides friendly and prompt service, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and satisfied. Meanwhile, the manager oversees the entire operation, coordinating with the kitchen and the team to create a memorable dining experience for all attendees.mirko are good server thank you

Tried this restaurant for lunch as we had a meeting at the Redwood Oracle office. The lunch experience was great, and I ordered a poke bowl. The bowl was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced with a variety of toppings and sauces that complemented the dish perfectly. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed and modern, ideal for a quick yet enjoyable lunch. Service was prompt and friendly, ensuring we stayed on schedule for our meeting. Overall, a great spot for a delicious and convenient lunch near the Oracle office.

I just tried to order a snack off the 2-5pm menu. I have enjoyed eating here so far the food is of really good quality and portion size. However my experience just now has made me give a poor rating , would be 1 star based on the service just experience alone. Took ages to be seated and then the staff were discussing management issues out loud and totally ignored me. I had to request to place an order a few times, (proved difficult to get their attention even though they were right near me!). There were a few other floating staff too, doing nothing, just ignoring me. It was quiet too. At the end I decided to walk away as they couldn’t be bothered to take my order! They lost my custom! Feel very disappointed!

The staff were amazing. Went in for dinner after work. Just wanted to relax by myself have some dinner and a few drinks. I recommend the soup if the day (broccoli cheddar) it was for me. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium) and fries were crispy and seasoned well.

This restaurant is a waste of prime real-estate inside the Grand Bay Hotel. It has a beautiful view of the lagoon, with floor to glass ceilings, and it could've been so much more. But with pretty much frozen food thawed, slow and poor service, and just no regards for any type of passionate cooking, the place has no chance of survival other than it being part of the hotel. How do you cook a sunny-side-up egg where you've over burnt the whites and overcooked the yolk? How do you serve pancakes that have clearly been not made fresh, if made at the kitchen at all, that textures like cardboard? Oh the bacon was so sandy, hard, and dusty that you could've found it in a museum mummy. The fresh-made scroffle (croissant dough in a waffle form) was perhaps the only edible thing that surprised us to be quite good. Except it took ages to serve. We were nearly done with all the other food before it arrived. Only reason why I'm not giving it 1-star is that our kids had fun with the outdoor pingpong table next to the restaurant and we took a good stroll alongside the lagoon. Not returning.

Google
We had a great experience! Nathan was our server, and he was engaging and accommodating, especially with our table of five teenagers. Here's a pro tip for those who are just dining at the restaurant: park in the upper parking garage, take a ticket, and then ask your server for a parking validation ticket. They'll provide you with something to scan for free parking. This was the only confusing aspect, but I appreciate that they have gated parking. Overall, the food, service, and environment were excellent. We will definitely be back!

Google
I frequent here on their Acoustic Thursdays. Live music every Thursday 5-8pm is a great vibe for drinks with friends during the sunset! Salmon was great as is the burger always. Lamb was a bit overcooked (I wanted medium) but it was still tender and delicious!

Yelp
Oh. my gosh! How can Waterside NOT have a 5 star rating? I am beyond shocked. From the moment we were greeted for the Easter Buffet, we felt like we were the most special people on earth. The staff is beyond kind, professional, and attentive. Cindi A. and all focused on providing everyone the best possible experience. you could eat indoors or out. Out is really special because you see the pool and the water but it was a bit chilly for use so we sat inside. Now to the best part, the buffet. Gorgeous, sumptuous, carefully curated to have the most impressive food selections that were cooked in the most delicious way. Check out my video on YouTube https://youtu.be/Ik3mrDsc9So to see the actual food but know that they had crab, steak, salmon, chicken, full breakfast bar, full antipasti section, caprese salad, cheeses galore , fruit, salad, desserts, coffee, and a kid's area to paint sugar cookies! It was just so special and affordable at $79 per adult and $40 for kids. The parking fee is validated and parking was very easy in the garage. I can't wait to go back. Check out my pictures to see the menu and my video to see the foods in depth. Wonderful experience.

Yelp
I had breakfast at Waterside Grill & Lounge, located inside the Grand Bay Hotel San Francisco in Redwood City. The restaurant has a nice view overlooking the Redland Shore Lagoon and is conveniently situated near the hotel lobby, across from their small marketplace. Parking in the hotel's structure costs a fee, but there's plenty of seating inside the restaurant itself. I came for their breakfast buffet, which runs from 6am-10am. I had vouchers that allowed me to dine for free, but otherwise, it's $30 per person Tue-Thur--which, frankly, I don't think is worth the price if the experience is the same. The food selection is pretty standard for a breakfast buffet. They offered pastries, scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, smoked salmon, yogurt, oats, and fruits. The smoked salmon was the standout for me, but the rest of the offerings were just average. For drinks, they had tea, coffee, and orange juice, but I was surprised and a bit let down by the lack of room temperature or cold water. It's a small detail, but one that would have improved the overall experience. While the food quality was fine, and I left feeling full, the breakfast didn't quite live up to the price point. If you're staying at the hotel and have a voucher, it's worth a visit.

Yelp
We went to have breakfast to this restaurant that is inside of the Grand Bay hotel. Ambience very nice great view of the pool and lagoon. The servers all very nice, attentive and fast service. I ordered some French toast and fresh orange juice nothing extraordinary but good. My husband ordered some egg Benedict and the said it was perfection. He enjoyed very much. Also they refill the coffee mugs constantly. Also they can validate your parking $6 so that was a plus. Overall experience was very good.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here while in town for business. Tried to order the wings and some veggie sides, but they were out. Pivoted to the beet and kale salad and added some grilled chicken. Very tasty and filling! Colleagues loved their tuna poke and burger orders. Recommend a side of fries to share. The wine was just OK -I'd order a cocktail in the future. Service was very friendly and quick. They were awesome about adjustments to our order! Views were very pretty, and the hotel is nice. Very easy to order a Lyft/Uber from this area. Would be back for future business meetings again!

Yelp
I searched on Open Table for an Easter buffet Brunch and the Waterside Grill came up. They advertised a buffet brunch and the times that were available. The only time that fit our schedule was 9:00am so we took that. When we got to the restaurant they said that the buffet didn't start until 11:00 even though, as you can see in the photo below, 9:00 was clearly available. Very disappointing. They said they had regular breakfast menu which was nothing to wrote home about. We stayed and the food was just ok. A really horrible experience on a day that was a special occasion for us.

Yelp
Terrible all around. We had no problem getting seated right away for our reservation for 7 people. The space itself is gorgeous with the bar but it was ridiculously too hot inside that it was SO uncomfortable. We ordered appetizers and entrées with no preference of receiving them in any order and waited nearly 45mins for our food. Our food finally came out and they were ALL entrées, NO appetizers. Weird. We inquired our waiter about them and he goes, "Oh, which appetizers......." Never-mind, we asked him to cancel all our appetizers. There were also no check-ins during our meal. Would not recommend and will not be coming back.

Yelp
They've really been pushing acoustic Night Thursdays and I've been frequenting this cool space since. Mike is normally bartending with Benny and Edwin and it's a cool spot to hang out for Golden Hour (happy hour at sunset) esp on Thursdays when they have a live musician. I did the burger my first time. Salmon my second and it's now in rotation with my friends and I for our after work spots.

Yelp
It's tough to serve on Thanksgiving. Especially when you have a family that has dietary restrictions, and is very particular with food orders. The staff was incredibly accommodating and delivered a mouth-watering, scrumptious and filling turkey dinner. Pure Thanksgiving comfort. We left with full hearts and stomachs. Exactly what the (foodie) doctor ordered this holiday season!

Alyse T.

Yelp
Great ambience and views! Had breakfast with my friends and enjoyed it thoroughly. Marco, our server, was great - 5 stars for service!
google avatar

Kristina N.

Yelp
I stayed at the hotel while my husband attended a conference, so I didn't have a whole lot to choose from as far as places to eat went. The food was good, but definitely overpriced. Breakfast was $30 for avocado toast and coffee. Lunch was $45 for Cobb salad, cup of soup, and water. The wait staff was always super kind and very helpful. I never waited too long to be seated, to order, or for my food. I'd eat here again if I stayed at the hotel and didn't have a car or way to get around.

Yelp
Had client dinner. Food wine and service were awesome. Our client loved the experience

Yelp
Great ambiance! And 8 drafts! Not bad for a hotel bar! Very nice burger also! They got fat tire draft!

Yelp
Food and Happy hour was good we went during the week, but there is no signage on the building and was thinking of having my parents meet me there for brunch but knew they would probably get lost . There was also only the bartender for the entire place . He was great. He first overcharged me and I had to ask isn't it happy hour? Not a huge selection of Chardonnay by the glass. But good draft beers. Definitely would go again and they have a big outdoor area by the water.

Yelp
We had selected this restaurant at the Grand Bay Hotel for New Years Eve because it had been at the same hotel as an event that we attended there. We were required to give a 25.00 person deposit when we signed up in November. There were four of us. The cost for the dinner was $95.00 per person for a buffet. The amount of $100. was immediately charged to our credit card. We had assumed that the remainder would be charged when we received the bill. We were told at the time that they would be refunding the deposit but would need to pay the full bill of 95.00 a piece. The bill came and they automatically charged a tip of 20% and then charged the tax on the whole bill. ( We pointed out that this was illegal and they did give us a new bill without the tip. ) A tip on a buffet is typically 10-15%The deposit was to be refunded but hadn't been. I called and they said that they were processing the refunds on 1/8th. There was no refund and I have my credit card company handling this. Furthermore, the food was absolutely tasteless, they were disorganized in that they did not follow their edict that they had in writing of having a 5 minute time window before we could potentially lose our reservation, hence the deposit. We were there 10 minutes before our reservation and they did not seat us until 30 minutes past our reservation as the food was not yet ready. Also the food was way over priced. Atmosphere not what a NYE should be as there were no table linens nothing spectacular and was a coffee shop atmosphere They would have been better off serving hamburgers! What disturbs me is the fact that they were taking advantage of customers! They probably thought that no one would notice! Whoever cashes a deposit before a dinner reservation! It should have been cashed if we didn't show up! This hotel will not last should they continue these unethical and illegal practices. So very short sighted as we are in the process of contacting the people who put on the event that had hundreds of people there. Certainly we will NEVER BE RETURNING AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE THEM A HORRIBLE REVIEW SHOULD ANYONE ASK US!

Yelp
Ok, Scroll Bar Kitchen was a quick Sunday brunch buffet visit. I stayed in the Pullman Hotel the night before and came downstairs for bfast the next morning. So , yes, the Scroll Bar Kitchen is located inside the Pullman Hotel (formerly The Sofitel Hotel). It was a simple buffet spread yet it included all the standard breakfast food groups; Breads, muffins, pancakes, jams , cereals , juices, bacon , sausages, scrambled eggs , fresh fruit, cheeses and my fav the smoked salmon. Can't forget the coffee. They even served their version of Eggs Benedict which wasn't half bad. If you're looking for a cheap eat then this probably isn't your jam, but definitely worth the atmosphere of the hotel and view of the adjacent lagoon.

Melanie Q.

Yelp
This place is a disaster! avoid at all costs! I made a reservation for Mother's Day for 8:30am and showed up with my family and they wouldn't seat us because Breakfast ended at 8:30??? They made me wait to talk to some rude Manager who just also turned my family away and didn't serve us. When it's a big holiday they should think about disconnecting their opentable reservations so they don't waste people's time and special day. If you want a great breakfast near by, go to Hobee's like we ended up doing. The food and prices and Hobee's are 100% better.

Yelp
If you're staying at the hotel you will want to consider driving or walking to other options. Staff was totally overwhelmed. Waited over a half hour just to have someone approach me with water. Food quality was decent but service was totally disorganized. A 1.5 hour experience for a hotel restaurant burger is disappointing after a full day of airline travel.

Yelp
Bayshore hotel in Redwood City Image you've come to the BayShore Hotel in Redwood city for dinner. At their Scrollbar restaurant. Imagine you've ordered chicken with a bowl of soup. Now, imagine you break-out in an immediate fever after drinking the soup! You don't come back for several days, assuming you were sick. You go to the ER. It happens again, only this time it looks as if someone poured something into the soup. Again, fever, you go to ER. They validate that something was poured into the soup. It was urine! Prime suspect is the lead bartender Michael. If you don't agree with his conspiracy theories, he does things like that! I've been going there for over 6 months. Well...,eat/drink there if you want, but I'll never eat or drink anything there again!!! Joseph Anderson

Yelp
We hosted our wedding anniversary luncheon here back in February (sorry for the late review). Atmosphere, food and service were amazing. On our menu were salmon, garden fettuccine and short rib panini. And they set up a table for mimosas. It was the perfect touch. Our guests were happy. Thank you Taryn, Anthony, Cindy and William for all your help.

Yelp
My amount of stars are different from the others, and I think that's simply because we had a different scenario where we were meeting a friend who was already seated, and at the bar instead of table service. Reading other reviews though, I can completely sympathize their treatment from the wait staff, etc. I didn't personally experience this, and perhaps the major difference was sitting at the bar? I enjoyed a "Sunset" cocktail, which was sort of like a spin on a Cosmo, and it was served with the most beautiful square ice cube (ha, I know I get excited about silly things, but seriously, look at the picture). I also ordered the cheese plate, which was my "dinner." It was filling enough to have been, and I shared with the 2 people I was with. I chose 3 cheeses, and it was served with some Bonne Maman jam, honeycomb, fruits, nuts; the usual. Craving a treat, I asked the bartender for a dessert that I'd seen as a photo on their Yelp page, and he informed me that the menus all rotate, so it wasn't around anymore. He rattled off the current selection, and I ordered the Nutella Croissant Bread Pudding. I just have to say, I think that all bread puddings from now on should be made with croissants, because MY GOD. That was amazing; fluffy and light instead of horrendously heavy, and of course that hazelnut magic that is Nutella brought a lot to the show as well. Thank you, come again? You know, I'm wary. I don't want to taint the good experience we had, so maybe if we do go back, it'll again be to sit at the bar for little bites instead of a table meal.

Yelp
The food was good But a bit overpriced. The servers We're overworked and had pretty negative attitudes. Probably won't be back.

Yelp
Being the main restaurant in a hotel fairly removed from much any other thing besides corporate offices, Scroll Bar is likely your main option within reasonable walking distance. Fortunately, it's a pretty nice restaurant bar with a few TVs, nice bar staff, and pretty good food. Swung by on a late hour before their kitchen closed, which I would not recommend since they are extremely short staffed at that point in the kitchen. However, I will say the bar staff was very nice about it and helped make the wait much better. The pork belly was delicious and thick fatty cuts. The shisito peppers were okay, good finger food to have.

Yelp
I often found myself saying, "its okay, but I don't LOVE it" except for the truffle garlic fries and molten lava cake. These two were amazing. I've had a lot of chocolate cake and this was by far the best. It is light and almost flakey on the top with thick and slightly creamy chocolate at the bottom. It's not too sweet but the chocolate is strong and rich. I highly recommend the lava cake. Lobster ravioli-- homemade, good and large sizes of lobster Rice Ancini-- too much rice and lacking flavor. I was pretty disappointed with this dish. Chicken buns-- very flavorful and juicy fried chicken with a sweet and spicy well complemented sauce I didn't care for the roasted cauliflower at all-- it was somewhat bland and was easily a stir fry dish. It's not what I expected. Service is great. Management is superb. Park in the lot on the right when you pull in-- the restaurant validates.

Kevin B.

Yelp
The Main Bartender, Michael is a creep, and he kept sticking his hands down his pants in-between making drinks and serving food. This guy needs to go. Food was ridiculously overpriced. Drinks were watered down, and Michael was pocketing money and not charging for the majority of people's drinks.

Yelp
The service is painfully bad at Scroll Bar during the best of times and even worse when more than a few guests are in the restaurant. I stay at the Pullman very often. Hotel is great, rooms are nice and hotel (rooms, desk and housekeeping) staff all friendly and helpful. The Food & Beverage operations don't match the quality of the hotel. From low quality food, slow/low quality room service, empty buffets and overly limited service - I try not to eat here. There is great opportunity for the Pullman to up its game and keep me staying there, here are a few examples: -Free coffee only being served from 4:00am-6:00am in the lobby is always a bit 'cheap' - this week due to low occupancy, the Market Cafe is closed. You should extend free coffee, as opposed to making guests suffer through trying to get a cup at Scroll Bar -Food quality - up your game. Quality is poor. Most food seems pre-prepared and again doesn't match the quality of the hotel stay (and is expensive for what you get). -More convenience options. Especially when Market Cafe is closed, due to the hotel's somewhat remote location, vending machines for soda, snacks, etc... would be greatly appreciated.

Lianne C.

Yelp
Food here was amazing and the seating area is very comfortable (mostly sofas). Their service is a bit on the slower side however.

Arash M.

Yelp
I wish I had gone to McDonald's, I would have saved 100 dollars and food quality would not have been worse.

Yelp
Here at a conference with my husband. Came to restaurant at 10:45 to grab a bite. Literally waited patiently for 20 minutes to be seated. Finally someone came up to me and said "we close at 11" I said that I've been here for a while - he said come back at noon. WOW. The hours listed online are inaccurate, so just call first to confirm. Very disappointing for a hotel to not offer any service. I'm captive here until his meeting is over, it's a lovely hotel..nice rooms, hotel staff is friendly, very clean, etc. The restaurant/bar - who knows?

Yelp
It's a recurring theme of a waitstaff that is unfriendly and clueless s What I experienced: 1.) Stood around by host booth and no one greeted me for about 5 minutes. Not even a hello when I made eye contact with the staff or bartender . The bartender then came over and asked if I were "okay." I said I was doing great and then he walked away... um, why would I be standing in front of host booth? Was I just standing here like I had nothing better to do??? Yeah, I am looking for a table or something to order food. Seriously. 2.) Witnessed a couple ordering a huge order of drinks with the bartender and he asked "if that was it?" They were clearly annoyed or offended by him for whatever reason and walked away with a canceled drink order. So this made me feel like I wasn't the only one experiencing bad service. 3.) Ahi Poke Tacos were subpar with way over-priced drinks. 4.) Another couple next to me asked for a drink menu and instead of getting another menu specifically for them ...he pulls my menu and gives it to them. How do you know if I was done drinking?! 5.). Every time I ordered something additionally they would give me an new updated receipt. Like they wanted me out of here or I was going to bounce on their check. Offensive and insulting. There's like 4 people here in an empty lounge. BTW - I am a hotel guest. Management needs to give this team a lesson in good customer service. Nice ambiance...unfriendly and strange staff though.

Christina R.

Yelp
The worse service we have ever received at a bar. That says a lot. The bartender was rude. When we gave his a drink a request he snapped at us after standing and ignoring us while he socialized with a flirty customer. Skip this place for drinks.
google avatar

Katerina Y. Y.

Yelp
It's a five star view How could it not be when you're by a beautiful landscaped lake. However the food was mediocre and not very tasty. The seating area was nice and the waiters were attentive. However the noodles were a little glutinous and overdone and the sauce was clumpy starchy. The tofus dressing was on the vinegary side. All I can say was the view was beautiful and the service was great.

Yelp
Great dinner at my hotel resturant after I landed tonight. Salmon was grilled to perfection with a savory sauce over black forbidden rice and bok choy. Loved the atmosphere with the lighting and service was prompt.

Yelp
Paid parking . . .? Well you better be good. It was horrible, terrible service, surly waiter, terrible ambiance, cold, all metal and glass. Tables around me were all still littered with food, very expensive, limited menu. Think it has a full bar? Not at 10AM, we ordered 2 Bloody Mary's, and a beer. 10 Minutes, waiter says we're out of beer, no Bloody Mary's, we threw our napkins up in surrender and left. And no great view, what a joke, Try at your own risk. It's located inside the Pullmen's Hotel. Her Ladyship, says the parking can be validated. Look, I really dislike giving a restaurant one star. We stayed at Pullman's in Paris, and visited their restaurant, quite a bit, and it . . .ahem ....never ran out of anything. Another thing that was interesting, was that there wa only one other person sitting in the restaurant and all the plates still sitting on the other tables, had a lot of food remaining on them.

Yelp
Don't eat breakfast here. Just don't. It took over 30 minutes to get our food after ordering. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. When it finally arrived, it totally shocked me. The egg was HARD BOILED. Both of them. I'm not kidding. Never seen that before. And the same was true for everyone else at the table. Unbelievable. This place left a 3-minute egg in the pot for at least 5 minutes. Maybe 6. No chef should ever do that. EVER. It's an egg!!! How do they screw this up?! Don't believe me? Go there and order it. You'll see. Get ready to make egg salad with it. That's about all you can do. And there won't be much hollandaise sauce, either. Almost none. The waiter won't acknowledge the error. It's like it never even happened. Except that it did. Oh - and the potatoes were no better. Giant, WHOLE garlic chucks with my hash brown potatoes. What the...??!! Who IS this chef??? A total rookie???!

Yelp
We came here for the SF restaurant week. There was no indication this restaurant was in a hotel so we had lots of trouble finding it. Parking here is $3 per hour which is high for Redwood City. We came in during lunch time. No one greeted us fo r a while. Eventually someone greeted us but has no idea about our reservation on opentable. They told us they don't do restaurant week menu for lunch (but we had a reservation for that!) At the end they offered us something that would only saved us $1 max from regular menu. Service was super slow and food was mediocre. Complete waste of time and emotion.

Yelp
After a long day of soccer added with a 2 hour drive, our appetites were ready to be satisfied. The grilled octopus starter was a generous serving of delicious food. My husband enjoyed the pistachio encrusted lamb chops while I went for the seafood stew. We would definitely come back again when we are in town. Highly recommend the Moscow mule from the bar. Added benefit was great staff, from table service as well as the attached bar.

Yelp
Nice place to have drinks and quick bites and appetizers. The decor is nice and service is good 5 star :) The cocktail selections were nice but at a pricier side (16?) for a rum based drink. I like how it's not crowded so it's always nice and easy to get a table. It's also a good place to have a drink and chat about things that require using internet. We also had thanksgiving dinner there this year. While the service was great, the food was so-so. The turkey dish was regular, the pasta dish was quite plane. I ordered appetizers including steamed clams and French onion soup as my dinner and they were pretty good. Some of the clams weren't very fresh though so it was a bummer. (Maybe a slow week?). I had the same clam dish a few weeks back and it was actually good.

Yelp
My husband and I just had dinner here and really enjoyed it. Cool ambiance, with a nice mix of seating: couches, regular tables, high tables. We appreciated that they weren't trying to cluster everyone together too tightly. Our table was a comfortable distance from the others. Our server, Kenny, was very attentive and obviously super excited about the menu. Our favorites were also the ones he raved about: the short ribs with gnocchi and the Nutella bread pudding (which was beautifully paired with a crunchy chocolate gelato). The other dishes we got--a kale Caesar salad, lobster ravioli appetizer, and duck entree--were also good, although not as memorable. The wine list could be better; the selections were just OK and at a significant markup. But all the wines were served at the right temperature, in the appropriate glassware. I had mentioned on my OpenTable reservation the fact that we were celebrating a special occasion. But nobody seems to have noticed; it wasn't acknowledged in any way. In any case, we had a great time and will likely be back!

Yelp
I took a client out here for a business lunch - really, really awed by the great ambiance and service! For appetizers, we shared the ahi poke stack. Very fresh and I loved the contrast of the taro chips. For my entree, I had the Pappardelle Pasta. The ribs were so soft and cut easily with a fork. The pasta noodles were large and wide - not the best for forking up, but I made do. Overall, enjoyed my lunch here and will definitely be back for more business lunches while our office is still in the area!

Yelp
I came here for Sunday brunch, and I can easily say this was one of the best buffets I have ever had. I came in around 1:00pm, which was pretty late since they close the buffet at 2:00pm. But, every dish was very warm and tasted as if it was recently prepared. Everything from the crispy bacon to the delicious salmon could've been a meal on their own. The staff was very friendly and catered to all our needs. I will definitely be coming back! For $45, this buffet was winner in my book.

Yelp
We went there tonight for Valentine's Day. The food was OK but the service was insultingly terrible. We spent two hours mostly waiting for food and barely saw our waiter, who didn't check in on us--or seem to be anywhere near our table--until well after we'd finished our entrees, once they finally came. The wait for dessert was especially endless, and when we finally flagged down the waiter it was obvious he'd just forgotten about it and us. The couple sitting next to us seemed to be having an even worse time of it, and asked for the manager, who comped their meal since they were members of the hotel's loyalty club.

Yelp
A bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. If you have terrible service, no one will come to your place and thus good waitstaff won't work there because they can't make any money. What terrible service we received today. Waited 10 minutes to be seated as the host nearby stood doing something (no idea what) as a line of people waited to be seated. Drinks were never delivered until after the food. Took 30 minutes for food to come, and based on how cold my fries were, pretty sure they had been up for a while. My request for ketchup never came (weird, who would want ketchup with fries). That's ok as it helps me keep to my clean living pledge for 2019. No water refills ever came. Given there were only 3 tables occupied, I would hate to see the service if it was crowded. Should be a decent spot given lack of places in the area, but just terrible experience. Head over the bridge to mistral for a much better experience and better food as well!

Yelp
We've been coming here for years, and it definitely went through difficult times at the end of the Sofitel regime. It seemed on an uptrend and we started coming back, but recent visits have us shaking our heads. Where to start ... 1. IT'S A BAR. HAVE A BARTENDER ON DUTY: It is a large space, I get that. So have a bartender dedicated to working the bar, not serving tables. Maybe two bartenders. 2. STAFF MORE SERVERS: Remember that large space? Have at least two servers. Takes forever to get a drink, a menu, etc. 3. GET A BAR MANAGER: You will be amazed at how much better the bar functions when a manager is on duty. We sometimes see a woman who seems to be the bar manager, and when she is there it runs noticeably better. Keep her there. Hire more. 4. MENU VARIETY: The bar menu has barely changed since the Pullman team took over. Have a few staple items but rotate them around. And try new things. Visit other bars and see what's popular. And while we're at it ... 5. VEGETARIANS NEED TO EAT: About a year ago they added exactly 2 vegetarian items to the menu, the Vegan Tofu Bars and Avocado Toast. Now the Avocado Toast is gone. We are vegan and cannot eat only Tofu Bars every time we visit. 6. STOP BILLING FOR STUFF WE DIDN'T ORDER: I just checked my receipt from Friday night (May 10) and noticed we were charged (and paid for) an item we didn't order. Not for the first time. I know mistakes happen, but it's odd how the mistakes are never leaving stuff OFF the bill. 7. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, STAFF UP FOR SPECIAL EVENTS: During one of the big weekends of college rowing we came by to have drinks and watch the races. Where is a good place to watch the rowers? That's right, the patio! So where could no servers be found? That's right, the patio! We had to go inside and place an order, and pay for it, then bring it outside. Huh? You do realize the easier it is to get a drink the more likely we'll order more, right? This can be a nice place when staffed sufficiently, but it's no fun right now.

Yelp
Great place! Love the new menu. View is amazing, so when the weather is nice, sit on the patio and enjoy. And if Michael if your bartender, even better! He's a true professional of the bartending craft and a delight to talk to. I always enjoy ending my work day here.

Yelp
For a "restaurant" to expect you to make dinner reservations- this was a wayyyyyy overpriced surprise. Overpriced for food and drinks. $16 for a small cocktail. One waiter and one non speaking bus staff running around, for a Saturday evening. Setup is more like a lounge seating area with tables- NOT a restaurant. We were told by the one waiter to "pick a table". Then sat at the table with terrible tasting tap water with no menus for several minutes. When the waiter finally came around, he asked for our order- I had to tell him we never received menus. Food was overpowered by the sauces. Lighting was so dim that I felt they were saving on the electric bill as opposed to creating ambience. Seriously. When I booked this on Open Table- I saw the word "Waterside" which led me to believe there was some type of view. Well, I guess the pool accounts as water, so therefore, they weren't wrong. Perhaps change their name to "Poolside Lounge" and they would be as described.

Yelp
Very mediocre food for not so mediocre prices. Great atmosphere and customer service but the food seriously lacks in flavors. I order a seafood dish and it was so terrible I had to send it back and order I pasta dish instead. How you mess up a pasta is beyond me? This place is a wanna be upscale restaurant that isn't. On the upside, the restaurant/bar is very clean with modern decor and the wait staff is super courteous. I'd come back for drinks only.

Yelp
Do not go here for breakfast!!! We arrived at 9.45 for breakfast, no one greeted us, we were not even sure where to go. Finally a bus-boy said "oh sit anywhere". there were 5 tables in use, and all the others were laden with dirty dishes. We waited til he returned, and he pushed 2 tables together for us. We sat down while they brought utensils. The waiter came over, was offhand but we ordered coffee, and a Bloody Mary and a beer for drinks. "Oh I will check on the drinks"! The waiter returned...... no alcohol of any kind for the early morning. This is a place with a full bar, attached to the dining area, with a Mimosa on the menu. We checked out the breakfasts...a really limited choice(none of which appealed to me!!!), and expensive, $27 for an awful buffet.$17 for a normal 2 egg breakfast, and up from there. The place was cold in temperature and in ambience, yards of stainless steel and windows overlooking a swimming pool, a hedge and iron fence. If you stood up you could just see the canals carrying water around Silicon Valley concrete buildings. When our waiter did not return we decided to leave. We were with good friends we had not seen for months and were looking for a leisurely meal, in a lovely environment. This was not it! We left!, and returned home to our local cafe and had a delicious lovely breakfast with lots of attention from the waiters, and nattered for an hour and a half. Our total bill, with drinks was 1/2 of what we would have paid at Scrollbar. Oh not to mention....there is paid parking there, luckily we did not pay, that would have been the last straw!!!

Yelp
Went here for late night drinks. This place is absolutely beautiful! We sat ourselves down as their was no host at the booth. However, we were greeted by our server right away I believe his name was Jose. He was very polite and provided detailed information on their beverage and food menu. Jose was very friendly and was not rushed when taking our order. Definitely recommend this place for drinks. Their food menu seemed limited but their Nutella bread pudding is absolutely delicious!

Yelp
This review is only for Sunday Easter Brunch 4-1-18! I enjoyed the egg hunt for the kids at 10:30. They even provided baskets to those that didn't have any :) However I felt that the staff in the restaurant was not ready at all. The staff seemed to not be on the same page. A lady with blonde hair goes to the check in table and is looking for the guests list- as if she was going to check people in. But I told her the guy with the pink shirt took the list. A whole bunch of people are crowding this check in table. At 1047 am when the pink shirt guy asks to help me, I tell him my name and time of reservation. ( I didn't know"check in time" = 11:00 which is the time of my actual reservation). He then informs me that check in is at 11am, and I move to the side. He should have made an announcement loud enough so every person behind me knows that it's not time to check in!! There was a whole mass of people behind me, so after me of course more people just kept asking to check in. No one served the mimosas in the front like he said. No announcement was made that the guests could serve themselves the mimosas either. I made this reservation on Tuesday- 4 adults and 1 child the age of 2. The restaurant called me Saturday to confirm the reservation which they had as 3 adults 1 child ( and I corrected them). On Easter Sunday, the paper had me down STILL as 3 adults 1 child at check in. Ummm........ After the pink shirt man checked me in, the lady with blonde hair from earlier handed me the card to give to my waitress but she asked me if they wrote down the party size? Uh....DUH. The pink shirt guy writes the party size behind that card, so why would she ask ME that? Why couldn't she turn the card over before asking me a "silly" question. I mean obviously thats their process. Everyone gets the cards and their party size is written by their staff on it. So why doesn't she know their process?? @11:15 all the dishes didn't even have the serving spoons ready and one area still had plates being set up! What kind of place is this?? The dessert area was still being set up at 11:20 and the waitress didn't even know that soft drinks were included in the brunch. She needed to check. The cream cheese for the area near smoked salmon had a giant serving spoon not a knife (to spread) so everyone was struggling. The lemons had no tongs in the bowl so when everyone gets a slice of lemon for their seafood, you are touching everything. And 1 of the salads had no serving utensils so you had to use the tongs from the one in the greek salad. Very disappointed with the lack of organization Having high blood pressure on a day of holiness was not a good experience . Who is in charge of their food service dept?!!! This used to be the Sofitel. That name has big shoes to fill and this restaurant didn't fill it. Luckily the food was pretty good. Dessert area was very mediocre though. This area had a fondue fountain and the sticks provided for the fruit & rice crispies were left in the plastic wrapper and just left on the table. Also there was no food place cards in the desert area-- The cheesecake ended up being almond flavored. I had no idea what was inside the puff looking desserts- looked like cream puffs but it looked like 2 different flavors inside because one looked chocolate. It was just on the same plate. The brunch was definitely far from the Top of the Mark or Ritz Carlton status. I hope that this restaurant gets it together by next year's Easter brunch because my son really enjoyed the egg hunt and I like how the hotel is local.
