Waterside Market on Martha's Vineyard is a must do for me for their amazing Lobster Eggs Benedict. Tangy Hollandaise sauce what lots of fresh Lobster, and yes they will use claw and knuckle meat so you get the sweetest bites. Add to that a beautiful wraparound porch and it's a great way to start your morning. Waterside Market Visit Martha's Vineyard

First time visiting Vineyard Haven. We arrived from Edgartown via bus early and decided to grab a bite for breakfast here. Order at the counter and they deliver to you. We sat outside to enjoy the people watching while eating. The food was good. Typical breakfast. Was a nice way to start the day.

My first time eating here and I was quite pleased. We got 3 sandwiches between the four of us and one salad. Also got some soup to try and fries. The turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry sauce was my favorite. My son got the roast beef sandwich and when asked he said he'd get it again. My wife got the Cobb salad and it was plentiful and very fresh looking. She enjoyed it and especially the ranch dressing. The Italian was solid but I would try something else next time. The fries were good we just wish we asked for them more crispy. Most places don't crisp fries enough so maybe that means most people don't like proper fries. The pea soup was the best. French onion was second. We didn't care for the mushroom barley it was very watery. The pea soup though was proper thick and ham and yummy. We'll definitely be back.

I had the pleasure of grabbing breakfast takeout and lattes from Waterside Market in Vineyard Haven, and it was an absolute delight! The breakfast options were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The bagels were toasted just right, and the pastries were a wonderful treat. The lattes were expertly made—smooth, rich, and just the right balance of coffee and milk. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience seamless. If you're in the area, Waterside Market is a must-visit for a delicious, quick breakfast with amazing coffee. Highly recommend!

Google
Well stocked store with fresh menu, including breakfast all day, and cafe. We ordered a Red White and Green as well as a CAB, both prepared quickly and delicious! We also devoured a bag of the park truffle chips made in house. Ample seating inside, and they had a restroom for customers. Highly recommend!

Google
Large sandwiches and salads. All very tasty and priced well. I order from here often and most of the time get it to go. If you want to dine in, the patio is nice. During the summer it is extremely busy, therefore ordering ahead is advised.

Huge bag of fries. Great homemade salad dressings. Delicious glass of sauvy B. Great outdoor seating. Perfect.

Google
Don’t order the Eggs Benedict- doughy cold muffin & canned (barely warm) hollandaise. Have no problem paying $25 for breakfast, but expect a quality meal. The service was quick and friendly. Will try something else next time.

Yelp
Great food. Great sandwiches and salads. Service? Not so much. . Called to place a take out order - not because I wanted to call, but because I was using a gift card and for some reason, despite having room to add a GC to pay, it doesn't work. Girl who answered just kept yelling - over the music and noise on their end - "I can't hear you". Obvi. So I shouted that I'd come in to order. Again - 3rd choice, behind online or call ordering, and not really convenient? But, gift card. So I come in to order and the cashier seems annoyed and snippy. I get it - it's busy! They make great food - so yes - busy. If online or calling worked, I wouldn't be standing here. So yeah - food is great. Sitting outside on the deck - great. Noise level inside - loud. Could probably skip the loud music. Service - seems annoyed and harried. And for the price - it would be nice to walk away feeling good about all of it.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! They were incredibly busy, but the staff got us taken care of us so quickly! The food is spectacular and the staff even more so. Their vibe is so upbeat and the lady with the dreads is sweet as pie! Nev took special care to make sure our order was correct and that we had everything we needed! We will definitely be back on our next visit!

Tracey P.

Yelp
The outdoor garden patio is the highlight. The food was decent (mini/thin slice of ham called canadian bacon); but it's only take-out service with a paper to-go box and pre-packaged plastic cutlery with a mini-napkin. Definitely a hugely missed opportunity for nicer table service for those of us who dine-in and sit-down at such a lovely venue.

Ashley S.

Yelp
YES! Yum. It may be pricey but it is worth it!!! My husband and I both got the C.A.B sandwich and even though I just ate it, I want another! It was so so good. I want to try and make it at home. Well worth it. We also got the ranch fries but they were really overcooked so to me, $9 for them wasn't worth it but you do get a HUGE bag of them. I mean HUGE bag. It could be split between a family of 4-5. The sandwiches are where it's at though. If you like smoothies, the ones they offer in the fridge are to die for. So so fresh. The service was quick too!

Celine H.

Yelp
Tried their small breakfast sandwich and huge and tasty sandwiches! Filled with alot of meat and veggies! Had to share (too much for 1)

Katy P.

Yelp
Service is horrendous but thank you for convincing me to never pre-tip again. Sandwiches are fine? Nothing to write home about. Avoid as it will ruin your vacation vibes.

Mark G.

Yelp
The overall ambiance was good until the cashier rushed us to grab a salad from the side that had been made instead of making a fresh one. Of course we want a fresh salad. Also, all their dressings are all mustard based. We asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar and they gave us a mustard mix.

Jessica S.

Yelp
YES the $17 sandwich was worth it. I got the John Alden. The sandwich was large enough I ate half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. I also got a late with oat milk and coconut flavor that was delicious. Yummy cookies for sale as well!

Ongchu Pemba L.

Yelp
Might be the best sandwiches in the island. Highly recommend their sandwiches and they also have available variety of wines to purchase

Winter B.

Yelp
Waterside Market is the perfect place to stop for lunch or really any time of the day! They have a large menu with salads, sandwiches, and breakfastI would recommend getting a sandwich. Inside they have some prepared/grab and go foods as well as a large selection of drinks. The ingredients are really high quality and delicious. Xc There is limited outdoor seating but it is great for takeout if you can't find a table. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Byron K.

Yelp
Sandwiches were excellent. Just the right amount of dressing. Tasty and creative ingredients. Delicious crunchy bread. Clam chowder is so good! You'll pay bc it's on MV but very good!

Sarah P.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years now, and I noticed the quality has decreased immensely. I ordered my favorite Lucy Vincent Sandwich and it was supposed to have chickpeas cauliflower and pickled onion etc. ... What I was served was just cauliflower and giant clump of mayo on a cold piece of bread. 90% of the ingredients were missing. So disgusting. I probably won't eat here again.

Gabriel F.

Yelp
Really good sandwiches on amazing bread. I had the French Quarter. My wife had the CAB. We shared a huge side of fresh hot fries, too. Thus was the best food we've eaten on the island. Highly recommend.

Kim S.

Yelp
The food is amazing and the service is even better. The salmon avocado bread ..the breakfast sandwiches, locals & tourist together. It's such a great combination

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Omg LOVE LOVE LOVED this place. We stopped in for lunch. We had limited time to catch the Alpacas before closing time and I loved that we were able to order ahead and save time. I also love the variety of vegetarian options offered but this did make decision making more difficult. I HAD to go with the Lucy Vincent with harissa roasted cauliflower, vegan garlic aioli, spinach, pickled red onions and smashed garbanzo beans. I requested they omit and onions and was very grateful that they complied. This was honestly one of the best sandwiches I have had in recent memory. It was such a treat to have something unique rather than a standard/classic sandwich. The cauliflower and smashed garbanzo beans provided an incredible texture and the flavors were out of this world. The contrast of the sandwich contents with crispy ciabatta was the icing on the cake. I am still blown away by how spectacular this sandwich was. GF ordered a lobster roll with a side of their hand-cut french fries. She enjoyed her roll BUT I have to comment on the sheer quantity of fries that was included in the order. It was absurd. It was literally an entire brown bag worth of fries. They're seasoned with parmesan truffle and are DELICIOUS. I wish they delivered to central mass lmao.

Yelp
Per good Yelp reviews stopped by at waterside market for brunch today. Made a good choice. Nice little place w friendly staff. Just 2 mins from ferry landing. Had the hot chocolate and we ordered the egg Benedict w avocado , egg benefit w lobster, breakfast burrito and Tex max breakfast. The eggs Benedict's cake with breakfast potatoes which was very good. All generous portions n delicious. Not a morsel left. Was a rainy gloomy day so sat outside on the porch and enjoyed the food. Thank you 4 a great breakfast. Will be back when in the vineyard again.

David P.

Yelp
Breakfast is 3 stars, lunch is more like 4. Patio is nice. Breakfast food was very much mediocre cafeteria food. Overcooked eggs, overcooked homefries which somehow still came out cold. Lunch is better. BLT is quite good, grilled chicken Caesar was quite solid.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I came over to Martha's Vineyard on a mid afternoon ferry and on the trip over i ordered a couple of sandwiches to go. It was easy to order and pay online so when we arrived our sandwiches were ready to go and I was able to avoid the ordering line which is typical. The whole ordering and pick up was easy and our sandwiches were delicious. It's a great way to go if you are in a hurry or just need to get some food to carry on. This is a good establishment to know about if you're on the Vineyard.

Connor A.

Yelp
High quality food and drink including breakfast sandwiches, wraps, baked goods, and coffee! Small grocery section of lunch salads, sides, local craft beer, wine and cocktails to-go! Large outdoor seating area good for people watching.

Michelle M.

Yelp
The coffee here is super; a nice dark roast was on tap. The breakfast I ordered wasn't quite up to par. I ordered the eggs florentine and the only hot thing in my meal were the eggs. The potatoes, spinach, English muffin and hollaindaise were all cold. I'm not sure if the hollaindaise was homemade or not. I brought the meal back to the counter and the chef heated up the potatoes. That was all. So I ate the eggs, raw spinach and some of the potatoes. I returned the next morning just for coffee.

Yelp
Located in an already picturesque nautical destination, Waterside Market adds salt to the charm of Martha's Vineyard. There's a nice assortment of local delectables on display worth checking out while waiting in line. As for the food, my breakfast burrito with bacon was hearty and filling without stuffing me. It had a unique tanginess from the local tomatoes they used that was a delicious surprise. My friends bought the eggs Benedict and the ham sandwich, which they all enjoyed very much. The only complaint came from my friend who bought the skinny burrito; it was too skinny to count as a real portion size for even the meagerest of mice. All in all, it's a local staple worth a stop in during your waterfront brunch experience.

Louise M.

Yelp
Order ahead of time! I can not stress that enough! In the summer you can wait over an hour just for breakfast to go. They have the best breakfast items. The breakfast sandwich, burrito, pancakes are all great! Salads are good, but a little pricey. There's only maybe 6 inside counter stools, but there is outside seating. In the winter they close it up and put out space heaters, so even off season you can sit outside.

Sophia M.

Yelp
Fine sandwiches, but very limited vegan or allergy friendly options. The French fries were bad. It was a huge bag of fries but they desperately needed salt and any flavor they could get. The avocado toast and sandwiches were decently good, but expensive. I would not recommend as they were rude when asking about the options for French fries, and French fries are the easiest thing to make so bad ones reflect poorly on the restaurant.

Laura N.

Yelp
High quality sandwiches made with excellent ingredients Definitely recommend!!! Great food

Juliana D.

Yelp
The food is not amazing but the views are beautiful and the staff is super nice. Come here for a midday drink and lunch. Loved the blood Mary and steamed mussels. The lobster roll was a pass.

Britt S.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. The Lucy Vincent sandwich was one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had. Super nice and helpful staff. The homemade cookies are a must! The outdoor seating is perfect for a warm day. Definitely recommend this place!

Alex W.

Yelp
Food was ok..There were two hairs in my food! Overall not enough seats and only outdoor seating but easily gets packed up quick. Home fries here are wayyyyy to salty and regular toast was sooo crunchy. This place is honestly hit or miss with me.

Tari O.

Yelp
MV staple where you can't go wrong. Highly advise ordering online so you avoid a long wait in line. The restaurant has great pastries and sandwiches(great for a beach day). They also have coffee drinks and canned cocktails to go. The cauliflower Lucy Vincent and Farmhouse are delicious!

Bill S.

Yelp
Great food, super friendly service and great experience. Great Vineyard place for breakfast or lunch.

Josephine K.

Yelp
Best tuna salad roll ever! I have been here for breakfast many times this was my first lunch, delicious!

Christopher L.

Yelp
Way over priced even for Martha's Vineyard pricing 50$ for a blt and eggs bennie come on seriously

Lee G.

Yelp
Good spot for breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff and a nice interior. Good options for breakfast and sandwiches. I had the Farmhouse sandwich. Very tasty. Only input is the chicken was somewhat bland. Great covered outdoor dining area as well!

Elisa H.

Yelp
Great place to puck up sandwiches or coffee and breakfast-There is a large accessible patio and your made to order food is brought out. Seemed to be a favorite local hangout. Service is good and great selection of local bottled beverages. My iced tea was delicious and the CAB sandwich was superb.

Damien S.

Yelp
Is it weird that Waterside will be the place responsible for the best iced tea I've ever had? Legit, the iced black tea, on its own, is remarkably tea-ish. Tastes fantastic. John Alden is a $12 sandwich they serve which I ate. Thanksgiving on ciabatta, it's house roasted turkey, sliced thick with canned (aka best) cranberry sauce, a smear of stuffing and mayo to lube your soul. Total winner, although I was a bit take aback when nobody seemed to know where the hell the bread came from. (Good bread, so if you find out, let me know.) Lunch was such a delightful experience, we came back a week later for breakfast and Tex Mex ($14) pairs a pair of sweet corn cakes with two eggs, black bean spread and pico. The cakes ruled the plate, with everything else being dry and/or overcooked. Good flavors, rushed to serve. Lots of patio seating, a panel of cookie filled baskets, and again, legendary iced tea. Give 'em a go!

Yelp
We've eaten here a few times and I felt it was time I write a review since we keep coming back for more. First off, thank you for being a year-round restaurant! We've enjoyed eating in your restaurant (pre-covid), on the patio (mid-pandemic), and most recently as take-out since it's winter - and we're working remotely from home. For this visit, we ordered take-out lunch which included Billy's Chili, a CAB sandwich, and the Waterside Cobb salad. I called in my order as I understand some restaurants get charged per order (depending on their contract) for 3rd party ordering systems. The person who answered the phone gladly took my order. When I asked for the chili, it seems there were two options. I recalled seeing Billy's Chili on the menu so I went with that one. It came with cheese on the chili and a nice-sized piece of cornbread. The chili had an interesting texture - almost like it had a lot of breadcrumbs. I wouldn't say it was bad but just different. Despite that, it tasted great. The cornbread was crumbly and sweet and complimented the chili well. My dining companion had the CAB sandwich and was quite pleased with it. The bread was fresh and there was a nice amount of chicken. I had the Cobb salad and was amazed at how much mixed greens there were! The container was filled to the brim with all the right fixings - chicken, bacon, egg, tomato, blue cheese, and avocado with ranch dressing on the side. I poured it all in a big bowl and that's when I realized how much greens were hidden below. It made enough for two servings and, surprisingly, there was enough dressing to dress the entire salad. The market also has a wide selection of cold and hot drinks as well as prepacked food items such as sauces and seasonings. If you find yourself in Vineyard Haven craving a quick and tasty breakfast or lunch, give Waterside Market a try. You won't be sorry!

Diane M.

Yelp
I have to say, I was not impressed w this establishment. The clam chowder was the thinner version. I got the CAB( chicken avocado and Brie sandwich)on a roll. The chicken was dry and tasteless. My mimosa was delicious(hence the two stars.) My daughter got a hard cider and clam chowder. Meal was expensive. $50. Nah! But staff person was very sweet.

John J.

Yelp
I loveeee the blt more then I love my girlfriend and the fries are enough for 2 people

Laura S.

Yelp
Regardless of the long wait to have our sandwiches, we had zero disappointment in our food. Each bite literally melted in our mouths. I was ultimately impressed with their cookies. I kept mine for three days and yet it remained so soft and so good!

P F.

Yelp
Convenient. Nice menu. Prick would be lovely to have lunch but they should do a better job of cleaning between guests. A new place, Fish, is right next door if you'd like seafood.

Michael M.

Yelp
The lobster roll was awesome! Also had the truffle parmesan fries which were excellent. Nice little wrap around deck to enjoy some people watching.

Liz O.

Yelp
We had lunch there today and the Red White and Green sandwich was excellent. The ciabatta was crispy fresh and delicious not leaden and overly chewy like most.

Bella L.

Yelp
The Waterside Market is a great place to come for lunch in Vineyard Haven. I've been twice for takeout and both times I had pretty good experiences. The first time I came here I got the John Alden Sandwich and a clam chowder. Clam chowder was very tasty! The John Alden Sandwich is basically a Thanksgiving meal on a sandwich. It was very tasty, although was a little light on the turkey and too heavy on the stuffing. Very yummy though. The second time I came here I got the Turkey Sandwich, which was delicious as well. Overall I recommend the Waterside Market if you're looking for a quick place to stop for a sandwich!

Rachel M.

Yelp
High key in all of the CAB sandwich. It really hit the spot. Store was a bit chaotic but online ordering was fast enough, and the sandwich was simply insanity, definetely going back very soon

Yanick S.

Yelp
The sandwiches were good- not sure it was worth the wait time though. But the bread was very fresh & I would definitely get the CAB sandwich again. However the Italian needed more meat on it

Patti G.

Yelp
Food was so good!! Sandwiches were piled high in yummy bread with layers of toppings! My French dip sandwich was on ciabatta with lettuce, tomato and melted Brie!! Lobster roll was wonderful too !! The truffle fries were amazing and in large quantity !! Came in a big bag for reasonable price!! We highly recommend this lunch place! Friendly service too!!

Pipoca C.

Yelp
Great breakfast option with a nice outdoor patio. Their avocado toast with salmon is pretty tasty!

Zhanita H.

Yelp
They do have good food for reasonable prices and I often go there. However, I keep finding bacon in my avocado only breakfast burritos! It happened once and I thought it was not a big deal because everyone can make a mistake once in a while, but today it happened again. For a vegetarian who strictly avoids pork like me, taking a bite out of a burrito and finding out there are bacon pieces in it (that I couldnt have seen because it is a closed burrito obviously) only after I started chewing is a total deal breaker for me. It was a take out order, so I couldnt go back and ask them for a new one and had to compromise with the bacon taste. But I can only imagine the drama that would happen if you do that to alanyone who avoids pork for religious reasons. I think it is unacceptable to not pay close attention to what goes into the food you serve customers who order no meat food, especially considering that you offer so many vegetarian options.

Robert T.

Yelp
You know that feeling that you would have been better off and more content had you not eaten anything? That's the feeling that you get from Waterside Market. Tourist trap with coffee so bad you'll throw it out after a few sips. Hot does not mean good. That goes the same for the sad little breakfast sandwich with one piece of bacon and what looked like half an egg, if that's even possible.

Ed F.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and it was a easy to get in and get a table in the morning. Food was good. I had the Tex Mex, but would probably get something else the next time. I wasn't expecting the tomato sauce; I may have missed that on the menu. Other than that, I would return.
