A culinary adventure in South Gippsland - SilverKris

"A quirky, hospitality-minded mushroom farm run by a former livestock farmer and an ex-hospitality partner; they cultivate eight varieties of oyster and shiitake mushrooms, supplying up to about 100kg a week to restaurants and a newly opened farm gate. The place combines vintage charm (a caravan, mismatched sofas) with serious cultivation — dark, cave-like grow rooms — and public offerings that include tours, Saturday pony rides and rustic cooking experiences where mushrooms are sautéed over a fire with butter, garlic and parsley and served in a cosy on-site cabin that doubles as guest accommodation." - Victoria Khroundina

I had a fantastic horse riding experience with the family @wattlebankfarm and I just had to share! From start to finish, the adventure unforgettable. Beatrice was incredibly warm and welcoming and Peter’s knowledge and passion for horses was evident, making sure we felt comfortable and confident throughout the session. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone. A huge thank you to Peter and Beatrice for such a memorable experience — I can't wait to come back! Highly recommended!

My partner and I had a great experience doing a natural horsemanship session with Pete. I have spent a lot of time with horses in the past while my partner has not, and we both equally enjoyed the session and took a lot away from it. It was a very special time that left us wanting more! Thanks again Pete, we’ll be back!

From a gorgeous rural setting. Spending time with Horses and settling by a fire with a a wholesome homemade cup of soup. The beautiful hosts Beatrice and husband Peter welcomed all and shared their passion and poetry at the Sunset Poetry and Horses event. I look forward to seeing more poetry and horses.

We visited Wattle Bank Farm early last year as part of our corporate retreat and it was AMAZING! We participated in the mushroom growing workshop under the beautiful vines in the atrium and our team (24 people) had a wonderful time. Everything from the morning tea to the farm tour, to the taster of cooked mushrooms was a delight. The take-home grow kit provided weeks of ongoing conservation and photos amongst the team throughout the various stages of mushroom growth. A year later and our team still talk about how much fun they had. Whether you're an organisation looking for a unique experience or an individual, I highly recommend this workshop. Thank you to Beatrice, Peter and the team!

Wattle Bank Farm is a really special place that will leave you feeling connected to country, animals and people. Peter and Beatrice are wonderful hosts and ensure that you receive a real one of a kind experience. Engaging in natural horsemanship workshops, learning about growing the oyster mushrooms, connecting with the local community and meditating amongst the lush gardens are just some of what is on offer. The space has so much heart; it's nurturing and unique. Go on - take a trip there and I promise, it will not disappoint.

Our trail ride around the Williamson’s beach area today was superb. Peter was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable about the area, and amazing with the horses (who were also beautiful: Matilda, Otto and Molly). We will definitely book again!
