We visited WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi and overall it was a great experience. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The creative fusion dishes and friendly service were the highlights, with just a few minor issues in the ambiance keeping it from a perfect score.
We ordered the spicy shrimp “sushi hot dog” and one of their sushi pizzas, and both dishes were as flavorful as they were inventive. The hot dog (a sushi roll cleverly presented like a hot dog) had a good kick of spice yet remained well-balanced: a nice heat that doesn’t overwhelm the fresh shrimp and other ingredients. The pizza was another fun fusion surprise: it might sound unusual, but it turned out delicious, with fresh fish and tasty toppings coming together like an Asian twist on a comfort food. You can tell a lot of thought went into these unique menu items, and they definitely delivered on flavor and creativity.
The service at WAVE was very good. Our server was attentive and genuinely friendly, checking on us often without hovering. Despite the restaurant being busy and lively, we never felt neglected. Water glasses were refilled promptly, and the staff was happy to answer our questions about the menu (which was helpful given the many unusual offerings!). The overall impression was that the team cares about their guests having a good time.
The restaurant has a lively, energetic vibe. It’s clearly a popular spot. However, be aware that the ambiance is on the darker side and gets pretty loud.
While the space was clean and comfortable, the interior decor itself felt a bit old and tired. The furnishings and overall look could use a refresh to match the modern creativity of the menu. This slightly dated atmosphere was really the only downside of our visit, and it held the experience back from being a full 5-star outing.
WAVE is a fantastic place if you’re looking to try something different and fun. The fusion sushi creations (like that hot dog and sushi pizza) are flavorful and memorable, and the friendly service makes you feel welcome. If they updated the interior and maybe toned down the noise just a notch, it would easily be a 5-star experience. As it stands, it’s a strong 4-star for me.
