The 23 Best London Coffee Shops With Wifi For Getting Work Done - London - The Infatuation

"Wave is where we work when we want spa-like calm in Hackney Central. The menu is vegan, the material of choice is rattan, and coffees come with lion’s mane, cordyceps, or CBD. Plus, the pillowy, gluten-free pancakes always hit. There are plenty of plug sockets, even outside in the large courtyard. Best for: Zoom calls, solo work, breakfast meeting" - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna

A Definitive Guide To London’s Best Pancakes

"Wave changes its pancake toppings seasonally and the winter ones made us forget that the sky had been 50 shades of grey for months on end. At the vegan Hackney cafe, a stack of three pillowy, gluten-free pancakes comes drizzled with warming toffee sauce and topped with dollops of coconut-flavoured ‘cream’. It’s beautiful to look at and only improved with a salted coffee—sweetened and speckled with Himalayan salt—on the side. " - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

Wave - Review - Hackney - London - The Infatuation

"Wave feels like the kind of cafe you'd find inside an LA health spa. Until you see pigeons scrapping over a chicken wing outside and remember that you are, in fact, in Hackney. The menu is vegan (and great for those with other dietary requirements too), the tones are earthy, the material of choice is rattan, and coffees come with lion’s mane, cordyceps, CBD, and other things influencers told you would make your skin glow. During the week it’s a calming spot to get some work done over a delicious salted—Himalayan, of course—coffee. And on sunny days, baseball cap-wearing Hackney locals pile into the courtyard, not a hangover in sight, photographing açai bowls and likely setting their intentions for the week. The food can be hit and miss, but the pillowy, gluten-free pancakes always hit, so stick to those. photo credit: The exterior of Wave, a Hackney cafe. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna

The Best Things We Ate This Week - London - The Infatuation

"Sticky toffee pancakes “I had a physical reaction to the arrival of my pancakes at Wave, a vegan cafe in Hackney. The tall, teetering stack warrants cartoon-levels of eye-widening. The thick sticky toffee sauce pooled in the bowl. The gluten-free pancakes were light and fluffy, the sauce rich and treacle-like, and the hefty dollops of whipped coconut yoghurt balanced out the sweetness perfectly. On a chilly January morning, this indulgent tower felt like a good way to kick off the year.”- SC " - Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak, Sinead Cranna

Google
100% vegan cafe with English style bruch menu and pastries. Shakshuka was as delicious as it looked, and the Coronation Sandwich was nothing like I tasted elsewhere. They had about 10 different beautiful pastries, and many of them were gone while I was deciding what to have! Oh, the coffee, atmosphere, decor, outdoor space, and the staff were also fantastic. Big thumbs up! 👍

Try the egg bagel! Sit in the sun. Drink your coffe. Enjoy the view into the backyard😍 bumped into that places randomly and Im super happy. It seems there are also oat meal / bowls, but I didn't see it in the menu. Lovley staff and (vegan) guests too - dog friendly.

Came here for breakfast following a gig at Hackney Empire. Don't normally feel compelled to leave a review. The lions mane cacao was amazing as was the acai bowl. I loved the touches of sustainability, aesthetic, felt like places I have visited abroad such as Costa Rica. Attention to detail, ambience and airiness were great. Will come back here when I'm next in the area.

Great place for breakfast! The Toasted Avo and Kraut with extra Scrambled Tofu was great, but the New York Brisket was our favourite dish. It had a real depth of flavour and the texture of the mushrooms was very similar to brisket. If you fancy something different to drink, try the Salted Coffee — you’ll still get your caffeine hit, but with an interesting twist!

What a banger cafe. The perfect place for a vegan brunch. Bonus points for their gorgeous cat.

We went for brunch and really enjoyed the atmosphere and fully vegan menu. The gluten free pancakes were great with perfect texture. Also had the sunny side which was good (if maybe a little too strong Dijon taste). Pastries looked great but too full to try them. Inventive latte choices.

💚 LOVE LOVE LOVE 💚 Everything was so delicious! I just love the vibe of the café, chill & minimalist. The place has a light & airy feel to it, & somehow wasn't too noisy even though it was pretty busy for a Friday at midday. The only thing that made me a little sad was that my meal should have been served on sourdough & I'm a HUGE sourdough fan, but it was still scrumptious nonetheless. The scramble may actually be the best I've ever had 😍👌

Yelp
A fancy vegan café/ restaurant in Hackney. (I'm not a vegan. I'm mostly a pescatarian) It's very LOUD though. I believe it's do with how they treated the walls and the ceiling. Poor acoustic treatment leading everyone to speak loudly, which compels people around them to speak even louder to get heard. And it's not that they were playing loud music either. At least the staff members were pleasant and helpful. The (vegan) croissant was suspiciously oval. I was suspicious at first, but I was pleasantly surprised; flaky on the outside and moist on the inside. It's not the same thing as real croissant, but if you think of it as a different kind of bread, it is very good. The main dish, brekkie bowl was pleasant enough but nothing mind-blowing. From scrambled tofu to stir-fried kale, they are all things I can make myself. The 'hummus' had a very weird, runny texture, and didn't really taste much like hummus. Which is weird, because hummus is supposed to be vegan!

Yelp
This was the only photo I managed to snap of this incredible place before my phone died! After a long flight from New York, finally visiting here brought me immense joy, especially since it had been on my list for about a year. Staying in Hackney, I indulged in their Sunny Side, Americano, Hibiscus tea, and a chocolate croissant. It was an absolutely delicious experience, and I'll definitely be returning whenever I find myself back in London! A special shoutout to the girls who kindly charged my phone! Unfortunately, my time in Hackney was short-lived, only two days, so I couldn't come back to thank you in person. Your kindness was greatly appreciated!

Yelp
I can't rightly write a full review as I didn't order food, though I don't see anything to complain about except the prices, which are generally £1-2 more than I'd like. Given that this is London though... And given that it's a cafe with the word "vegan" in the name... I guess £1-2 more per item is a given? The sandwiches sitting in their glass case near the register did look delicious. A friend ordered the bagel and "lox" (£6), as Sarah J. mentioned in her review, and I tried a bite. It was definitely delicious, and fantastically seasoned to resemble smoked salmon in flavour, while the texture of the "salmon" (made of very thinly sliced carrot) even resembled lox somehow. I had a flat white made with oat milk, and that drink is the reason why I'm giving three instead of four stars. For £3, it was tiny, served in a chode of a glass (wider than it was tall) with a taste that just didn't bring the richness, uniqueness, nerve, and talent I want in my coffee. It is definitely a lovely-looking space, however, with nice indoor and outdoor seating that will be fantastic come summer. The ambience is a bit Bali-beach chic, a bit Topanga Canyon. Music is definitely chill and good to chat or work to. And who doesn't like hanging swing chairs and lots of plants? As mentioned above, the food did look good, and smelled great as it came out to various tables too. So oddly enough, though I'm giving three stars only, I may be back. I'd like to try the noms, and drink something other than a coffee. Beetroot? Turmeric? Peanut butter? Yes for the price of one I could be halfway to a full breakfast, but they might be wins.

Yelp
We were staying at a guesthouse and wandered in by luck. Had the bagel and "lox", cappuccino, and iced mocha. The lox was so delicious and the closer I have had to the "real thing" in a long time. Lots of fun seating arrangements, great place for a breakfast date with friendly staff and chill music.

Yelp
Soooo yummy! We had something sweet and something savory - fresh ingredients, perfect flavors, textures, and delicious, unique coffees as well! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
LOVE WAVE, WORTH EVERY PENNY! Get something new every time and there's so many gluten free options, the staff is so friendly, and the actual location feels so relaxed and away from reality. Definitely recommend!
