FANTASTIC! My teenage daughter and I did the beginner glassblowing class and it was superb. Emilia our instructor was engaging, enthusiastic and clearly passionate for this craft. Perfect blend of group activity with solo experience as we each got to make our very own piece. This may go down as the highlight of our trip.

The beginner's glassblowing workshop at Wave was the highlight of our time in Venice! Sometimes art experiences like this can be mediocre—some folks are great artists, some are great teachers. Our instructor, Emilia, is definitely both. She was engaging and encouraging, clearly able to explain not just what to do but how and why we were doing it. Her passion and patience helped everyone in our class of four move with confidence. In fact, the entire team was engaging in that same way. Their teamwork was inspiring and made the atmosphere inside the studio fun, friendly, and inspiring. In the 2 or 3 hours we were there, the team at Wave welcomed guests to watch, others took a tour of the space, and some—like us—hung around for the full workshop experience. Everyone was greeted warmly, like they belonged there too. I can’t wait to return home to the U.S. and receive our creations, which the team arranged to ship home for us. The entire island of Murano is a treasure, and Wave is the shiniest gem of all.

Our trip to Murano Island We were honestly very surprised – in a good way! Now we understand why this place has such a high rating on Google. You walk into a charming space filled with people, cheerful Italian music, and live glassblowing demonstrations. You can just watch — it’s completely free. If you want, you can also take a tour or visit the shop. It’s such a lovely and unique experience. I definitely recommend visiting to feel the authentic atmosphere of Murano!

My wife and I did the Beginners Class experience and had a great time. It was neat see the shop up close, learn about it (such as the energy efficiency of the furnaces used), and to see professional artisans at work. The class was the highlight of our trip. It is more hands-on than similar classes in the US, which made it more enjoyable. Our instructor Melissa was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Although our techniques weren’t perfect, Melissa helped us create presentable and unique glasses that are now proudly displayed in our home. (We had the glasses shipped back to us in the US and they both arrived in one piece.)

My husband and I came for our honeymoon and had an absolute blast learning about glassblowing, watching the masters at work behind the scenes, and learning to make our own pieces. Hillary was such an amazing and patient instructor. Love that the groups are kept small and allows for more intimate learning. The factory itself is very warm (makes sense with all the fire) but they have fans and water to keep it somewhat nice. All in all our favorite experience and trip that came out of coming to Venice and learning Marano was just a short boat ride away. Highly recommend doing the glassblowing experience over just walking around and seeing the other factories.

Chiara gave an excellent tour and answered all of our questions. It was exciting to visit all parts of the factory and be in the middle of the production floor where the artisans were working. I came away with a good understanding of the glass making process with great explanations and seeing (and feeling!) things up close. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience, dwelling into the history, artistry and hard work behind Murano glass. The workshop is great and they have live demonstrations very often in both English and Italian ✨ . The glass makers explain every step of the process. You're able to buy authentic glass creations from their gift-shop afterwards. They also offer up-close tours and experiences. 10/10 recommended

My husband and I participated in the Glassblowing Workshop for Beginners. (Our instructor was amazing, I forgot her name, but she was a very nice Australian woman!) The experience started with a tour of the Wave Murano glass factory while the glassmakers and master were working on some commissioned pieces. Our instructor gave us an overview of all the steps involved in making a piece from the liquid glass. It was memorizing to watch the dance of the glass makers and the master at work - this factory is also open to the public for free and would be one to check out even if you don’t book a tour/class! As for our workshop, our instructor explained all the innovative and progressive things Master Roberto has incorporated into his factory which was interesting to learn. She was very educated in the art of glassmaking and was a patient teacher with us newbies. She helped us create one of our best memories from our Euro trip and some of our favorite souvenirs! Despite the new technology Roberto has at his factory for cooling the glass quickly, we were not able to take our pieces with us as it was our last day in Italy. We opted to have our glasses shipped to us, which did cost and extra 50 euros. We were provided a tracking number and they arrived to our house well packaged and safe. I will forever cherish our glasses and will always remember this experience. I would highly recommend this class to anyone!
