The Best Restaurants in Charlestown

"The Waverly has everything you want in a neighborhood restaurant and more. Despite being deeper into Charlestown than non-residents typically venture, it attracts both locals and visitors due to its approachable and well-executed menu, charming interior (complete with a fireplace and open kitchen), and popular brunch service. The Parker House rolls with whipped honey butter, Green Goddess salad, hand-cut tagliatelle Bolognese, eggplant Milanese with Calabrian chili-whipped ricotta, and Waverly burger with bacon-onion jam, Vermont cheddar, Grillo’s pickles, and “special sauce” are dinner stand-outs. The brunch menu features fun twists on classics like griddled pastrami hash, eggs benedict with lemon hollandaise, brie, and garlic spinach, and a “Mission-style” breakfast burrito." - Anna Darrow

I’ve been craving buttermilk pancakes for weeks, despite not typically being a fan of heavy breakfasts, and I finally remembered a friend had highly recommended this spot. From the moment I arrived, everything was impressively seamless from charming entrance, warm and accommodating hosts to seasoned and efficient waitstaff and prompt service, even amid the weekend morning rush. The food was excellent: generous in portion, thoughtfully prepared, and of commendable quality. Although the meal leaned toward the indulgent side, it didn’t feel overwhelmingly heavy; rather, it was satisfying in a comforting, balanced way. That said, one considerable drawback was the excessive noise level. Interestingly, it wasn’t due to blaring music, as is often the case, but rather the patrons themselves. The volume of conversation around me felt unusually amplified—particularly a woman at the next table who seemed to be delivering a public address without a microphone. While I’ll refrain from speculating aloud why certain guests seemed to lack social restraint, it did affect the ambiance noticeably. Despite the auditory chaos, the overall experience was delightful. I look forward to returning, ideally on a quieter weekday when the atmosphere might be more serene.

Google
Good food and service! Very loud in the dining room. We had the chicken sandwich and burger. The fries weren’t hot, but still good. Update (6/17/25): ordered the burrata pasta and a side grilled chicken breast for delivery. Wow!!! So delicious. This will definitely be a regular takeout/delivery order.

Google
Excellent place for a weekend brunch. The servers and staffs are very friendly and nice. We ordered eggs Benedict and bacon eggs with fruits cup, and both of which were delicious. The interior design is very beautiful and makes it a cozy space. We would definitely pay an another visit to this place!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It's one of the Best Brunch Spots I've experienced Waverly Kitchen & Bar is a gem tucked into the Bunker Hill neighborhood of Charlestown and hands down one of the best brunch spots I’ve experienced yet. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed. We started with the buttermilk biscuits with sea salted honey butter—amazing. I ended up spreading that honey butter on just about everything. I had the griddled pastrami hash featuring a house-smoked black pepper brisket that tasted almost like chorizo—absolutely delicious. My wife had the smoked salmon bagel, and it was the best she's ever had. The thin-sliced cucumbers and red onions paired perfectly with the garlic herb cream cheese and avocado. My boys devoured the buttermilk pancakes with fresh Vermont maple syrup—so good. My daughter’s bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich featured house-smoked bacon that was more like crispy pork belly—amazing. Even the seasonal fruit with wildflower honey was over-the-top good. To top it all off, I had a spicy Bloody Mary that was perfectly made and full of flavor. Great food, great vibes, and a standout brunch experience. Highly recommend!

Google
I was giving myself a walking tour of Charlestown on Bunker Hill Day and happened to be walking by the Waverly right around lunch time. What a happy accident. I was happy to see my favorite sandwich (Pastrami Reuben) on the menu. I ordered a salad instead of the usual fries. This was one of the best, if not the best Reubens I have ever had. The salad was excellent as well. The atmosphere was lovely and very fitting to Charlestown.

Loved our breakfast here! Great coffee, tasty food, and a beautiful atmosphere. We’ll definitely go back again!

Google
Great food and great atmosphere. We really liked the ambiance - lively on a Friday. Staff was very nice. We came with a reservation and ate in <60 minutes 3 courses which is very fast. The reason for the 4/5 for service is they definitely crowded the reservation too close together. We arrived on time but weren't seated for 10 minutes. All the food was brought out at once and they were definitely staring at us/hovering so they could turn the table. Just know you will get your food quickly but may not feel relaxed.

Google
I stopped in for a casual brunch and left fully obsessed. The egg & bacon sandwich? Unreal. Perfectly toasted bread, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and melty cheese—it’s the kind of breakfast sandwich that ruins all others. Every bite is salty, savory, and just rich enough to feel indulgent without being too heavy. I added the green goddess salad on the side to balance it out, and honestly? It held its own. Super fresh, with a bright, herby dressing that actually tastes like real ingredients. Crunchy, crisp, and tossed just right—not one of those sad, soggy afterthought salads. But the real wildcard win? The mac & cheese. Silky, cheesy, a little smoky—comfort food done right. It’s the kind of dish you “just want a few bites of” and then suddenly it’s gone and you’re wondering if it’s socially acceptable to order another. And the Bad Bunny cocktail? A total vibe. Sweet, spicy, and dangerously smooth. The flavor combo was bold and balanced—definitely one of the better house cocktails I’ve had anywhere in Boston. Waverly has the neighborhood feel with next-level food and drink. Everything feels intentional but effortless. It’s the kind of place you come for brunch and end up staying through happy hour. Five stars, no question.

Yelp
I have been here before for dinner which was a great experience so I had to come back to try their brunch. They offer a variety of things on their menu - from buttermilk biscuits, croquettes, burgers, salads, classic breakfast dishes, and more. When I was here last I got their burger which was delicious and perfectly cooked. This time around I got an array of things because breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I have a hard time choosing one thing - I got the fresh fruit and Greek yogurt, side sausage, and side of home fries. The fruit was fresh and delicious. I was worried it wouldn't be because delicious fruit can be hard to find in December but they did a good job. I also got their Honey Brunches of Oats drink which was tasty and sweet. Lastly, the ambiance was great. You could come and study or come and enjoy brunch with some friends. The music choice was well selected and the interior design felt cozy. I will be back to try the pancakes!

Yelp
Ok, feel so guilty for awarding them but a 4 star review. So let's get that out of the way. Our table was in the middle of the room, was tiny and wobbled. And the place is very loud. Really need to nearly shout to be heard. So don't get the small table in the middle, sit at the bar, which is what we should have done. Now onto the good stuff -- the service and food. The service was excellent. Food and drinks moved quickly. Table was cleared as more food arrived. Spot on for great service. We ordered the pull apart Parker Rolls and the brussels sprouts. Both were amazing, best I've had of period! She ordered the steak frites and I the swordfish. Both were perfectly prepared and the portion size not too big and not too small. I'd highly recommend reservations as it was packed on a Wednesday. And I'd recommend this as a go to place in Boston.

Yelp
Needed a breakfast spot after a Logan drop off then en route to Merrimack Valley. A friend mentioned Waverly Kitchen. The interior is homey but modern. This is a true neighborhood favorite, as tables filled up quickly starting at 8 am--make a reservation! Our server, Stephanie G was attentive without being in-your-face. We sat at the street window, festooned in Christmas finery. The nearby gas fireplace provided a cozy warmth. There are seasonal hot beverages and brunch boozies, but we opted for a cappuccino and tea latte. Not sure the staff is familiar with a tea latte, as I was served a piping hot cup of milk and had to steep the tea bag. Typically, it's a brewed cup of hot tea, then add steamed milk (like for coffee). But it was fine. My delicious pork belly and grits was a substantial meal with a generous amount of protein --the broccoli rabe provided some balance and fiber! My friend isn't an adventurous eater, so she enjoyed the buttermilk pancakes with whipped butter. There were many other things I wanted to try! I hear their banana bread is legendary.

Yelp
I had some time to kill on a trip for work, and wanted to have breakfast before I had to meet a student so I decided to stop in, I was lucky and was able to be seated right away and my server was great! Very attentive but not over bearing. Loved the food, I had delicious fresh oysters, eggs Benedict, and enjoyed some cocktails! It was a perfect start to the day, check them out if you are in the area!

Yelp
Kaylie was an excellent server, very accommodating to our dietary needs. Her professionalism was remarkable as Her presentation and appearance!!! The food was great and we can't wait to come back .....to one of our new favorable places to eat. Thank Bob and Terri

Yelp
This is for takeout only! We have been getting delivery from Waverly since earlier this year. Toasttab is the service we use - not on Grubhub or Caviar. Everything we've had is AMAZING. They change their menu every once in a while and the chef does a superb job. Some of our favorites that seem to be constant: - Parker house rolls with honey butter (to die for) - kale Caesar salad - mashed potatoes We've also had a couple of the fish dishes, they never disappoint. Charlestown is a bit out of the way for us, but someday we gotta get over there. I can only imagine how the food tastes at the restaurant if it tastes so good as delivery.

Yelp
I love finding new places to eat. I have been to some really great places and had some tasty bites all over. However, it is not often that a place feels perfect. Waverly Kitchen & Bar did. On a quiet street in Charlestown sits, what might be, the quintessential classy neighborhood restaurant. I knew reservations were recommended so I waited for a spot at the bar after the hostesses greeted me and briefed me on my options. I was happy to wait. The energy was amazing and people were clearly loving their food. I started with the Parker House rolls, a great take on a classic. They are not large, the portions here are not large, they are just right. The rolls were warm, delicious, and I love the addition of sesame seeds that were perfectly toasted on top. Next it was steak frites, a 6oz steak with a house-made steak sauce and a rosemary hollandaise. Yum, yum. The frites were dynamite too and the watercress salad was a pleasant balance. I finished with the Affogato. Fabulous, buttery, the perfect finish. As much as I loved the food, the people were better. Both hostesses, who also ran food, the bar staff, especially the young man working there, were kind and engaging and made you feel welcomed. It wasn't just really good service it was welcoming! This place is beautiful, intimate, and someplace I cannot wait to revisit. Next time I'll make sure I have a reservation because there are more reasons than I can count for people to go back and keep it packed. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular. There were multiple things on the menu I would go back to try. Run, don't walk, to Waverly Kitchen & Bar.

Yelp
This place was the best place we went to eat in Boston. The service was amazing, the food and drinks were perfect! Some other places we tried it was either the food or drinks that were good, never both. This was overall great! The food, ambiance, drinks and service was superb!

Yelp
first visit. Went for brunch. Had an awesome experience. Banana bread is amazing so was Benedict Will return many times

Yelp
Visiting Phipp's Burial with my mother & we just happened upon this restaurant nearby. Ok, firstly, best dinner we had our entire trip & that's including Italian/pastries on the north end. It's a gorgeous yet quaint restaurant. Service was fabulous, pour of the Prosecco was appreciated & omg, the burger was worth the $20 & the burrata citrus salad was seriously special & noteworthy. What a treat! Make a reservation - it became super busy, we luckily missed the dinner crowd by a whisker.

Yelp
Cozy little spot in Charlestown that serves brunch seven days a week. Stopped in with my girlfriend yesterday around noon, sat at the bar and had a nice view of the open kitchen. The guy on the flattop was a machine! During the lunch time rush there was a lot going on there and everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. Service was quick and attentive, cocktails were solid (recommend the banana bread espresso martini). I ordered the waverly burger, comes with bacon onion, cheddar cheese and secret sauce. I eat a lot of burgers and this one stands out, it was fantastic. Girlfriend ordered some veggie egg white omelette, which I did not try because I am not a fan of most veggies but she really enjoyed it. Great place, will be back again.

Yelp
Excellent well prepared food! Pastas , chicken pot pie and swordfish were a hit. Excellent oyster !

Yelp
Came in with some friends a few weeks ago and really enjoyed ourselves. We didn't have a reservation but got seats at the bar which was great. The bartender, Katie, was really friendly and made our experience so much fun. She helped us pick out some great apps to split as well as drinks. I really liked my steak frites and the pasta dishes my friend got were excellent. Really cool vibe here, and I appreciated the great service to make the night a lot of fun.
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
I stopped in here last night with a family member. We were seated at the counter, where we were greeted warmly by our server, Katie. She made excellent recommendations--it was like she really knew us somehow. At her urging we shared the cevice, the evening scallop special, and the chicken a la plancha. Each was more delicious than the last. Additionally, she suggested two excellent bourbon-based cocktails, the maple old-fashioned and the bourbon and berries. It was a delicious evening.
google avatar

Yelp
Popped in for drinks and apps on a weekend afternoon. So so good. The sweet potato croquettes were one of the best bites I've had in a long time. They were like all the best parts of a donut, sweet potato fries, and corn bread...and the dipping sauce...my god. Both of the cocktails we had were super good as well, and the ceviche was also excellent. Outdoor seating would've been great, but the vibes inside were solid and the service we had the bar was really good.
google avatar

Carlotta C.

Yelp
My one qualm is that though we had a reservation for 11am, we got seated at 11:15. Other than that, everything was great. We shared the brisket hash and the side of pancakes, which was the perfect quantity for two people to share. The pancakes were delicious. The syrup was a bit too sweet for my taste, not sure if it was maple syrup. The hash was delicious, and the side of seasoned home fries even better. The iced coffee was a delight. The space itself is so cozy, especially around the holidays. We'll definitely be back to try the dinner menu.
google avatar

Ayatt A.

Yelp
The brunch spot of my dreams! Waverly is so charming inside and all the staff was so kind. They have a top notch menu with many unique dishes for everyone, and great cocktails too. I tried the Bad Bunny cocktail and absolutely loved it. We started with the Duck Poutine and the Griddled Banana bread, both absolutely next level. We also split the Breakfast Burrito, which we were too full to eat (but it absolutely slapped when I reheated it on football sunday), and the benedict that was cooked to perfection. You have to come here!
google avatar

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance here was amazing. I have a food allergy and they were very attentive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Been here for dinner and loved it. Tried brunch and fell in love! Delicious huevos rancheros and breakfast burrito. Everyone is always so friendly and the vibes are always super chill. Check out our Instagram for more details: @flavorofthetaste

Yelp
Visiting from Vegas and happened across this restaurant, which was the best choice of the day. Their burger was to die for. Amazing onions, cooked to perfection. Chocolate chip pancakes were simple and delicious. Overall atmosphere of the place is cozy and servers were attentive and polite. A must go to in Bunker Hill!

Yelp
We went on a weeknight and the restaurant was busy but no wait. It felt very romantic and clean. Our server was very nice and quick. We ordered the pastas and they were so good! The pasta tasted freshly made and perfectly Al dente. The sauce was flavorful, light, and the mussels were tender and paired so well. The restaurant had a good beer and cocktail selection. Would recommend for a nice date night!

Yelp
New spot that opened in the last of week. Sister location to the well-known Monument Restaurant & Tavern in the same neighborhood. The ambiance is romantic and neighborly at the same time. Pretty small menu, but enough options to satisfy all appetites. Had both their bourbon based cocktails, they're both awesome. Not too sweet, and had a slight twist to their classic recipes. As for the food, the pear and brie salad was really good, with the chicken souvlaki being perfectly cooked. The lobster tagliatelle was too salty to begin with, but the waiter offered to redo the dish and the second attempt was very tasty. The crème brûlée was nothing short of perfect. Perfect crust and light custard, accompanied by a sugar cookie. It was the perfect end to our dinner. The hosts are super friendly and we always saw return guests within a week of this spot opening up. I know I'll be back to try out more drinks and dishes, and I hope their menu changes a bit with every season. Looking forward Update: went back after a few months. Very happy to see the menu changing so we can try new things. The updated menu is just as good, and the food continues to be great.

Yelp
Charlestown continues to have the best brunch in the area! Visited the Waverly twice for brunch and both times did not dissapoint! The place is small but has a super cute vibe. We had the eggs Benedict and smoked salmon bagel and both were delicious. The star of the show is the griddled banana bread, it's a must have! Be sure to make this your next weekend brunch spot. Reservations are helpful as it gets pretty busy on weekends. Can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Jacob W.

Yelp
Very coo atmosphere! We went here for brunch for my brother's bachelor party. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long at all. We had great drinks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The staff was also super nice and responsive despite it being a very busy day there.
google avatar

Alanna Q.

Yelp
Me and the girls stopped by here pretty last min to get some food before going out. Love that there's a new place in Charlestown! Inside it was so beautiful and cozy with the open kitchen and bar decorated for Christmas. It was super hot inside though. I wish they had all the windows open haha. Our waitress recommended some great apps for us and we loved them all! They were a little pricey of course. But this was such a nice vibe, we didn't mind paying.
google avatar

Kristen D.

Yelp
Guys RUNNNNNN here! Every bite of food was to die for! I actually stumbled across this place while trying to make reservations at their sister italian steakhouse restaurant Prima but there were none available- I am so glad this happened, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten to try the most decadent black truffle chicken pot pie that I had last night. The brussel sprouts and mac and cheese were also terrific! The drinks were additionally on point! I can't wait to come back here to try brunch after reading all of the other reviews on here!
google avatar

Nikki H.

Yelp
This was my second time dining here. The ambiance is great. Beautiful interior but a bit loud. The bar staff is 5 stars. Every drink I've had from here is delicious and strong. The food is not great. The Parker house rolls are over baked, over proofed, and too salty. I ordered my burger medium but it was well done. The Cacio e Pepe fries are nothing special. My husband liked his steak and frites. The worst part was the service. We had a reservation for 8:15. We were seated at 8:45, but no one came to our table to take our drink order until 9:00. It was busy, but not overflowing with people. The servers hung around talking to one another, but didn't spend much time attending to patrons. Overall, this place is nice in superficial ways, but not worth the time or money.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Waverly Kitchen & Bar is a must-go to in the Charlestown area. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. The service is friendly and attentive. And, the food is spectacular. We shared the short-rib pierogi special appetizer and then got the kale salad with grilled chicken as a main dish. Everything was delicious and I would gladly order again. That said, there were so many incredible options on the menu that I'd like to go back to try it all!
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
We had dinner at Waverly Kitchen & Bar. It's a cute little spot in Charlestown. The drinks were good, we ordered the Junebug ad cucumber crush. For dinner, we had the steak frites and salmon. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server was great. He popped in and out refilling our glasses with water. Overall, our experience was good! One thing to note is that it can get quite loud in there. The tables are close together so you're able to hear other tables talking. I definitely want to come back and try their brunch next time.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! My new brunch obsession! While staying at the Encore for a conference, we were having a hard time finding a brunch place on property for a meeting. Thankfully, a colleague from Chicago found this place which was a short ride from the hotel. Anyway, here's what we had: - Huevos Rancheros: I got mine without black beans since I'm allergic (yes, the weirdest allergy) and they were more than happy to accommodate. One of the best huevos rancheros I e ever had (I'm from LA so I know what good HR tastes like). The tomatoes were fresh, delicious sauce and sausage, crispy torta shell and perfectly cooked fried eggs. A must have! - Grilled Banana bread: Simply delicious! Also a must have. - Eggs Benedict: Per the server's recommendation, my colleague had hers with sausage and avocado. I had to try and it was amazing! - Espresso martini: Perfectly made. Super yum! Don't miss out! Must try!

Megan M.

Yelp
Tried this place for brunch as out of towners and it was great! Huge selection of delicious drinks, alcoholic and non. Avocado eggs Benedict was the by far the best I've ever had. Try this place, you'll love it! It seemed to be very popular with the locals so you know it must be good!
google avatar

Natasha I.

Yelp
Food was delicious and kitchen smelled amazing. The energy of the wait staff and cook was contagious. The pancakes were huge and the service was fast, friendly and welcoming. The avocado toast with an egg over easy was delicious. Their homemade avocado spread is delicious.
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Love this new spot! It's not too big but is really cute inside and very cozy for a winter brunch. The huevos rancheros were delicious - a really big portion and great flavors. I've also tried the biscuits and the breakfast sandwich and both were great. Good vibes and good service - I'll have to come back for dinner.
google avatar

Tiia G.

Yelp
This place was adorable and the brunch food and cocktails were amazing!! It took a squish too long to get our drinks but it was still worth it and our server was lovely.
google avatar

Bella M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. I went 4 times in 5 months and loved every visit I made. I ordered something different everytime and it was delicious everytime. Specifically, the lobster fettucini, roasted broccoli ceasar salad, pull apart parker house rolls, pan seared dayboat scallops, and oysters are always a favorite and repeated orders. Also very big fan of the vibe in the restaurant. The dim lighting and wooden beams all of it is so great it's like my ideal restaurant ambiance.
google avatar

Garima G.

Yelp
Came here on an early Saturday morning! I tried: - buttermilk pancakes with blueberries: extremely fluffy and melt in your mouth. - Huevos rancheros - came with black beans, avocados. Everything was fresh and flavorful - cold brew: I got it with milk and sugar and it was strong Cute vibes from sister chain the monument. I would go back for brunch

Kevin B.

Yelp
Called last week. Me: "I'd like to make 6pm reservation for seven people" Waverly: "Sorry, we don't take reservations. You'll just have to come by." This week. We stopped by at 5:15 asking for a table, place mostly empty Me: "We'd like a table for seven people." Them: "Do you have a reservation?" Ha ha ha ha Waverly and its companion "Monument" are the same pub restaurant operation. The home brew/"foodie" notion of fine dining. Stick to the burgers. The burgers are good.
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this place to open for so long and it's finally here! Waverly did not disappoint. The service was great for a restaurant that had only been open a week. It felt like a well-oiled machine. The food was excellent. We had the duck poutine to start, which was so savory and comforting! I had the steak frites as my main course (also great!) and the waiter helped me select a fantastic wine to pair with it. I wish I could remember the name of the wine! I will definitely be back many times. So happy that Waverly is finally here!!!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
There are many things to like and few things to dislike, so I'll lay it all out! The Likes: Parker House Rolls - six of them with great butter Caesar Salad - a really interesting take on a Caesar, with kale and broccoli Visual Ambiance - lovely décor, rich colors, and feels both historic and modern Value - given the general hipness, I was expecting to pay an extra three bucks for everything... and I didn't! The Dislikes: The Medium Rare Burger - Delicious, but definitely medium well The Music - Too loud for easy conversation Overall, a lovely experience and one I would like to have again. Would recommend for dates!
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Warm and cozy interior, with kind waitstaff. As far as I'm aware, it's all street parking. food was tasty and filling, and is a bit pricey, albeit in line with many brunch places nowadays (think $20 for a burger, $15 for chocolate chip pancakes). corned beef hash was quite good, the biscuits and butter were excellent (flaky, soft, and i am absolutely getting them again), and the coffee was decent and refillable (better than usual diner coffee or starbucks, but not as good as a nice pourover). friend's bisque was undersalted, but good after some self-seasoning, and another was quite happy with his burger.
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday here with my husband and 2 friends, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The food was spectacular - crispy Brussels sprouts, Parker house rolls, short ribs, gnocchi... every single thing we ordered was delicious. And the cocktails! As amateur mixologists, we're pretty picky, and these folks know what they're doing. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Tori A.

Yelp
Very romantic. Food and service was great. I thought the bolognese was good but not amazing. There were pieces of some sort of meat that were cut into chunks and the texture wasn't right as the rest of meat was ground. It still had nice flavor. My husband was wowed by his scallop dish.

Yelp

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink and appetizer with the kids . Great service! Great food! Cocktails were awesome. My cocktail tasted like apple pie in a glass!

Yelp
Great food fast service and casual atmosphere. The price is not high at all. And the kitchen is open so we can see the cooking process.

Yelp
Easily the best restaurant in Charlestown from a food, service and atmosphere standpoint. Here's the rundown on the food: Musts: - Parker House Rolls - Lobster Sliders - Steak Tartare - Green Goddess Salad - Papperdelle Bolognese - Lobster Tagliatelle Worth trying - Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps Pass: - Chicken Milanese - Butternut Squash Bisque - Scallops (Scallops are perfect, but the rest of the dish is a miss)

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I really don't like their sibling restaurants. I find them overpriced, meh food, and overrated. Hat tip to the Waverly team for a fantastic take on upscaled pub food. We came by on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. Would certainly recommend a reservation prior to visiting. The ambiance is a mix of historic and modern. Really enjoyed the feel of the place. We ordered a lot of food and drinks, so I'll start with the favorites. Sweet potato croquettes were absolutely delish. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would order this again and again. The pork belly lettuce wraps were the favorite dish of the table. You could probably get away with ordering this as a main and I'll probably do that in the future. The chicken pot pie was insane with big chunks of mushroom and carrots. This was the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. Things that were good, but I probably won't order again was the bread and hot chicken Milanese. They were both fine and tasty- the bread is $6, and it wasn't better than bread I've had for free. Hot chicken was solid, but it wasn't as wonderful as the other dishes mentioned. Drinks are solid and creative takes on cocktails you're probably familiar with. I thought the service was fine and obviously they are working out the wrinkles (no water for a long time, drinks took a while to come out, etc.). Though the waiter did on 3 occasions attempt to upsell not so subtly ("pasta for the table?"). I was also annoyed that after all that upselling, he rushed us out. Probably something that get fixed over time? For all the things I dislike about Monument or Lincoln, the service was never a complaint. Another small gripe, where do our jacket go? Is there a coat rack? What about purses? I bring this up because I'm seeing this more and more as an afterthought. It ruins my experience to have to have my winter jacket draped over me while eating or being forced to hold my wife's purse. It's a pricey date night, we went all out, but I would suspect to pay somewhere in the ballpark of $75/pp including tip. But I think that's pretty good value considering the quality of the food and the prices at other restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend giving Waverly a try!

Yelp
Good. Possibly the best steak I have had in my life. Very busy as expected. I sat at the bar but my food got thrown away when I went to the bathroom before leaving. I would say staff isn't observant; I also could have been more clear. However, I asked for a togo container and when I put everything in the container that's when it was thrown out. Besides that mishap I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Waverly is the "it" spot in Charlestown. The ambiance is incredibly cozy with a warm fireplace and an open kitchen. I've been about 5 times and each time the wait staff have been so kind and welcoming. I highly recommend the pull apart house rolls to start dinner or the banana bread to start brunch!
