Waves Shave Ice

Waves is only open Fridays and Saturdays so it feels like a real treat when you’re able to go. They’re located on the same property as a farm and nursery and is very family-friendly. The shaved ice is so fluffy and densely packed with rich flavors. Other snowcone or shaved ice places may have more flavors, but this is quality over quantity. I got the passion fruit with sweetened condensed coconut milk drizzled on top and it was perfect.

I really wanted to like this place but it fell flat unfortunately. I was excited for a place that had “authentic” Hawaiian shave ice including ice cream. My biggest complaint was it was $4.50 to add ice cream to your cup, which seemed kind of crazy but I got it anyway. They literally only gave us 1/4 cup of ice cream in our bowls. $4.50 for a tiny amount. It was almost $20 for my husband and I to get a small shave ice each and add ice cream. They also have limited flavor options, there weren’t too many that stood out to me that I wanted to try. All in all, I won’t be back.

Going to Waves was the best dessert decision we made the other night! Not only are the desserts out of this world, but it’s such a cool place. A wonderful addition to Holly Springs! This is truly the place of the summer.

This place is simply better than the competition. Although some corn hole boards would be a nice addition. The portions of shaved ice are fair, and there are plenty of flavor options without it being overwhelming. I also like being able to get several different real fruit toppings. I had a pina colada with coconut ice cream then pineapple and condensed milk for the topping. The folks working here were friendly and helpful too.

Great dessert! Very unique! 4/5 stars because there are way too many flies. I get it..we are outside on a farm. Just too many flies to enjoy your dessert outside.

Hawaii is one of our family’s favorite places in the world and Waves feels like being right back there with their shaved ice! Authentic and unique, so delicious and the most adorable new location! 10/10 cannot wait to go back!

Their shaved ice is amazing. If you ever see their food truck, make a beeline over to them and get the mango shaved ice. Their ice cream is ridiculously good. Haven't been disappointed the multiple times I've tried them. For RDU Triangle food recommendations, check out @raleating on Instagram.

One Ice Machine? In This Heat? Bold Strategy. I drove an hour in the middle of a heat wave like I was on a mission from the shaved ice gods. I pulled up to Waves Shave Ice in Holly Springs, ready to cool down and live my best life. Instead, I got a front-row seat to a sweaty comedy. Stood in line for over 60 minutes under the blazing sun -- no shade, no misting fans, not even a warning flare. Then, just as I get close to the window... "Sorry, our ice machine just broke." Ma'am. Sir. ONE ice machine? In the peak of summer? With this kind of traffic? Y'all need at least two, maybe even three. This place is too popular to be operating like a home kitchen with one blender on life support. They need to treat this like a concert venue, not a lemonade stand. Invest in backup machines -- or at least an emotional support popsicle for the folks in line. I left hotter than I came, spiritually and physically. All I got was disappointment and a tan line and am chocolate already.

The ice is pretty yummy! It's a little pricey but they do use real syrups so I'm okay with that. The regular is huge and next time I will get a kid size. They had just opened but were out of a lot of flavors. I ended up getting the lime passion fruit but we also got pina colada and cherry. I will definitely go back. On a hot day it hits the spot perfectly.

Ohhhh yummmm. Waves Shaved Ice is AMAZING!!! We got the passion fruit & triple berry. Both were perfect. Not too sweet. All natural ingredients. It was so refreshing on a hot day. Find this tropical food truck!! All gluten-free! The syrups are dairy-free. They even have dairy-free coconut creme drizzle on request!

Waves Shave Ice is so good! You can choose a flavor from the wave's original (signature syrups made from real fruit) or other flavors (syrups made in Hawaii) section. It was the strawberry with cream drizzle for me and the mango peach for my husband, both were a kids size. It was delicious and the size was perfect, check this truck out!

Disappointed. I've had shaved ice in HI, CA,NY so I was super excited about this place. But it's so over priced. I Saw this place on Instagram and what they portray on instagram is no where near what they serve. Although there's an additional charge for toppings they were super stingy. I paid extra and what bothered me was the skimpy strawberry and condensed milk drizzle I did however like that they make their syrups in house.

Amazing is an understatement! I found this jem on a local NC eats site and was amazed with the amazing flavors. First of all it's artisan shaven Ice with cane sugar toppings and you can put the most amazing ice cream inside. You can choose between no drizzle, a cream drizzle or dairy free coconut. We had the pineapple with coconut ice cream and dairy free coconut drizzle. It was amazing! The pineapple flavor is spot on and the pair of coconut ice cream it amazing. Second we had the triple berry with lemon filling with cream drizzle! Again this one was very flavorful and the lemon was great pairing as well. Finally we had the strawberry with peach ice cream with cream drizzle! This again was spot on and the peach ice cream had chunks of peach in it. To put it simply you will not be disappointed!

Love Waves! They are the perfect summer treat. Not only do they have delicious flavors but their presentation is perfect. I've followed the truck in Instagram and was excited to see it in my neighborhood. Ordered the pineapple, coconut ice cream with coconut drizzle! Delicious Follow the truck as they are at different locations. You will enjoy this tasty treat!

I've been twice recently. The first time I got pineapple stuffed with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious! The second time I got blueberry stuffed with blueberry cheesecake ice cream. It was good but not as good as pineapple. My kids got the other flavors that aren't made with fresh fruit and they didn't like it as much as another place I won't name. It is pricy but I understand they use better ingredients.

Awful. Hardly any syrup on the ice. Very much over priced for what you get. Flavorless.

Great family experience, fast and convenient! We have been here 3 times so far. Pineapple and coconut ice cream with coconut drizzle is my favorite. As a start up they still have some inconsistency issues but, other then that's it's well worth it!

If you find the Waves Shave Ice truck at an event near you definitely check it out! They have so many delicious and refreshing flavors! My family and I went during Easter weekend and they had cute Peeps marshmallow and jelly bean toppings that you could add to your shave ice! I will definitely be going back again (:

Large but perfect portions, tasted great. It came out quick and tasted fresh, I loved the combination I got, which was tigers blood and blue raspberry. I absolutely recommend this place for some delicious shaved ice!!

Awesome! Two weeks back, I have had shave ice at Matsumoto in Oahu which was ok. However Waves Shave Ice has brought the true flavor of Hawaii to North Carolina. Totally awesome and highly recommended!
