"A trip to the Jersey Shore simply would not be complete without a Wawa stop. The way-above-average convenience store dots the southern part of the state with dozens of locations to refuel both stomachs and cars. The subs here stand up against any shop around." - Stefanie Tuder

Google
Place is not what you’d expect for Avalon. It still has the old brick standard that 2010s stores had but that wasn’t even my issue. I purchased a medium cream soda from the coke machine and there was multiple pieces of black specs that were floating around the drink seeming to be from the ice machine. Just upset I paid for something I will most certainly not drink.

The sign says they close at 8 not 7:50. How about you stay and do the job you’re employed and paid till past 8 to do. This Wawa has gone downhill fast!

Friday night, store was packed with teenagers. Less than five minutes they all got drinks, food and were done. Not a long wait at all.

So lucky to have a WaWa in town esp during the Winter months when most businesses are closed. Summertime is even better...Open 24 hrs. Food is always fresh and they keep inventing themselves! Pretty cool! Veterans even get their coffee for free...so wear your hat or t-shirts so they know!

I usually love this place and was very much looking forward today to my first tuna hoagie of the new season. What a surprise when I got home and opened my sandwich. First there was hardly any tuna, only about 1/4 of prior standard generous amount and second the tuna just was not any good. . I hope it was an aberration, but I will be looking elsewhere for my tuna fix.

Is there new management? Been getting morning coffee here for 20 years and past few weeks seemed watered down?

Makes the rest of Avalon look like a rip off. It's got everything you could need from milk to ramen to fresh food. Price is unbeatable and is easily accessible from the entire island. Can get crowded during summer.

This Wawa, just like most others, is an absolute gem of hoagie oasis. To prep for a long day on the beach or a long car ride home, a hoagie from the Avalon Wawa will set you up. Generally speaking, this is a pretty standard Wawa, but nothing speaks quite to the convenience of being able to stop in on your way into town, right across the bridge, and then to drive just a few more blocks to park at the beach. Overall this is a clean location. The store and parking lot get busy in waves and it can get REALLY crowded. They still crank out the hoagies pretty fast. The only reason this is four stars instead of five is because it is my life's mission to convince Wawa that all locations should have public bathrooms, not just the gas station Wawas.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The service was amazing. And the atmosphere was amazing and quiet

Yelp
Mid March 2020. The staff here is wonderful. In this time of Social distancing we respectfully stay at least six feet away from each other but we're gracious about it. They're so polite and helpful. The rest of Avalon is dead! I mean when I walk through it's like I'm in an episode of Walking Dead. I kid you not! It's already a seasonal beach town/Island and many stores display spring/summer opening signs. Still, I've been told the few who are usually open year round have opted to distance themselves properly during this COVID-19 pandemic. Not Wawa. Wawa promised they won't close and I'ma hold them to it as they're the absolute only store open in these parts at this time. I need them. If I don't walk here daily just to see other live forms I may go mad. I apprecilike them. PLUS, their coffee is cheaper than my 7's. They're my peoples! The End.

Yelp
Absolutely crazy busy here in the summer time, but cheapest and fastest place to get food in Avalon. Wawa hoagies are the best!! I also always order my iced coffee here but sometimes they only put like 2 ice cubes in it which is very weird. Be careful in the parking lot very hectic!

Yelp
Central location for lots of quick items Coffee donuts snacks it's all easy to access and open late

Yelp
Honestly, Wawa hoagies are super delicious for an amazing price. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
I thought Wawa we're open 24/7 anytime of the year even the off season before midnight in south NJ.........an absolute let down. This is the third Wawa that has either been closed down or not open. Get your shit together!

Jane V.

Yelp
3 stars for being the ONLY Wawa in Avalon. -2 stars for being packed ALL the time. Either they need to build additional parking or build another Wawa nearby!

Yelp
It's Wawa, something would have to be terribly wrong for it not to get 5 stars. Saturday morning after a night of half price drinks at Jack's Place I was in need of a breakfast related sandwich. The bacon and egg sandwich on a toasted sub roll was the perfect way to kill my hangover and start a beach Saturday. Waiting for the bus back to NYC on Sunday, I stopped by again (for anyone who doesn't live near a Wawa, when you are in a place that has one, you HAVE to go at least twice) for a meatball parm hero to tide me over on the ride back. Well staffed, get you in and out quick with a great meal, Wawa. See, there are good things about south Jersey.

Kelli R.

Yelp
Definitely the cheapest place to get a "hoagie" or sub anywhere on the island, and they are pretty damn good if you ask me. The touch screens are fun and if you are a pro like my brother you can order with your eyes closed. True, if you go at peak times, the word packed to describe The Wa is an understatement. But if you go anytime not around lunch or prime vacationer-leaving-the-island time, it's fast and easy to get your food. I've never had an issue getting a parking spot there; compared to the Wawa in Stone Harbor the parking lot is massive. Gotta' have Wawa !

Jon L.

Yelp
Traveling we stopped in for a quick sandwich and lottery ticket. The girl at the register was very rude and ignored at the checkout counter. I had asked her a question about lottery tickets and a price. She seemed very disturbed and finally helped us. She gave us the wrong change (short) and gave us a major attitude when we were leaving. She had black hair pulled back and possibly Hispanic. I won't be going back there.

Kristen R.

Yelp
Still the best deli to get your hoagies in Av. This Wawa does me dirty, every summer.

Katie D.

Yelp
Wawa...7-11 and Circle K have nothing on you!! Why don't we have Wawa's on the west coast? The whole "order the hoagie on the touch screen" thing is genius! Trust me, there are few things that excite me like a Wawa store.

Cathryn C.

Yelp
This is strictly based on the coffee.....after years of drinking WaWa coffee in a morning haze, we were forced to go elsewhere when the Avalon WaWa was damaged by the last storm and had to close for several months. We are so glad it has re-opened.....but....after drinking coffee from a coffee shop for those months, it's clear that WaWa's coffee is soooo weak and watered down. And, on two out of the three days so far this week that we've gotten coffee there, my coffee has the flavor of hazelnut...which I do not like. But, more importantly, are they washing the dispensers? Labeling the coffee incorrectly? I drink plain decaf, am I getting regular hazelnut? Again, are they washing the dispensers??

Mike L.

Yelp
Original south jersey staple, quick, easy and typical snacks.

Eric F.

Yelp
what can I say other than they are fast and efficient. We go there for subs - so should you. We've gone to other places on the island for subs and everywhere else is pricy so why spend more when you can get a loaded 10 inch sub for $5?

T D.

Yelp
I'll give it 3 stars for being WAWA on Avalon. It's always packed though and parking is a PAIN so I can't go beyond 3 stars. Inside is spacious overall.

Michael G.

Yelp
I admit- i have always been a huge wawa fan. This perticular wawa is awesome and the perfect place to go for some good and very affordable food at a place like avalon

Sally B.

Yelp
My favorite wAwa ever, ESP off-season. Love the new custom soda machine!

Yelp
Coming out of a Yelp hiatus for this review. Summer is back and with it the warm weather. Unfortunately this beautiful weather is giving me flashbacks of my last time with sandals on, Labor Day. Having a wonderful weekend down at the shore thanks to the generosity of my college buddies. Looking for a quick lunch/dinner they suggest Wawa. I've never been but everyone raves about it so I agreed. They tell me just order whatever you want, like you would at a deli. I can't even remember what I ordered but the result was what I always suspected from Wawa. Would you order food from 7-11? Hell no, so why expect anything different from Wawa. I wouldn't feed what was given to me to my dog. Stale, crusty, gross, what was I THINKING ordering anything that wasn't Boars Head? I saw they are now offering Lobster Bisque, lets get one thing straight, ordering Lobster Bisque from a gas station is a straight up savage move. I am by no means a food snob but people need to stop raving about Wawa and grow up. I give you two stars for having the only things a gas station should need, Gas and Gatorade.
