Wawa, ‘America’s Best Convenience Store,’ Is Coming to Nashville - Eater Nashville

"Wawa, often referred to as a gas station, grocery store, convenience store, or deli, is renowned for its hoagies, available built-to-order via touchscreen, along with soft pretzels, coffee, and iced tea. The touchscreen menu includes custom-built salads, wraps, paninis, quesadillas, and chalupas. The first Wawa opened in 1964 in Folsom, Pennsylvania, and the chain has since expanded into various regions including Eastern Pennsylvania, the Delaware Valley, Virginia, Florida, and Washington, D.C. The company plans to open stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, the Florida Panhandle, Mobile, Alabama in 2024, and Nashville in 2025." - Clair Lorell

The employees were super sweet and nice! Especially the women! I appreciated their kindness and helpfulness, they give whipped cream pup cups to babies as well as dogs!! Their bathrooms were really clean and their drinks were pretty good. This location is pretty good, I recommend.

My first time going wasn’t that great. I ordered a “burrito bowl” that was more beans than literally anything else. They must’ve forgotten to put the rice in it so I was eating pretty much a bean bowl

Love this place. Great selection of items not typically found in a gas station. The coffee is always delicious. The managers are helpful and just as visible and working like the other employees. And issues I have ever had , which are very few,a quick phone call took care of it professionally and satisfactory. Ms. Sandra and Ms. Mariah are fantastic no matter how early or late it may be.

This was my first visit to any WaWa location. Had always heard that their sandwiches were fantastic and I can agree now. I had the club sandwich with pepperoni added and a strawberry lemonade. Both were awesome. It’s a brand new location in Fairhope so obviously it was very clean. The staff was friendly and they seemed to be very diligent about keeping the areas clean. The ordering experience at the self-serve kiosk, then going to another register to pay, then coming back to pick the sandwich up at one place then the lemonade at another… a little weird but obviously something I would be prepared for on my next visit. Overall very nice experience.

Whole different vibe! It was my first time going today and I got a sweet smoothie with chicken sandwich both good and fresh as well as nice employees and very clean. I hope Foley gets one in the future! Feels like a smaller Buc-ee’s and way less crowded.

I love Wawa. Never miss an opportunity to visit Coffee-topia! Except maybe here. Seriously, almost gave it three stars. Why? First, out of hazelnut coffee. I just like a hit in my cup (quarter inch) and then the rest regular. Out, however. "Tell us if we're out of your favorite" or whatever, so I mention it and an met with "oh well, sorry". Annoying, but I move on to regular. Empty! Mention it to staff and they lift the Columbian to tell me it's half full. "Yeah but I'd like regular" met with an eye roll. He finally turned around and pushed the brew button. I come back a few minutes later and fill up. Then go for a lid. Now every Wawa I've ever been to had both flip back and dome lids. Dome lids evidently not an option here. And the paper cup tastes strangely flowery. Hey Wawa corporate - for the love of coffee, take a page out of Sheetz's book and offer styrofoam cups. Test both and see what your customers prefer. Kept an extra star because they didn't charge for ice. Thanks for that.

We’ve only used the coffee area so far and are impressed! Self-serve drip coffee is very good. Several people were making use of the barista for hot and cold espresso drinks. You can order freshly made breakfast, avocado toast, sandwiches, burritos, and smoothies. We were greeted with a case full of beautiful pastries and donuts. There is a refrigerated selection of healthier grab-and-go options. Easy self-checkout is an option and the prices are good. There is a thoughtful ergonomic flow to the whole set up, placement of napkins and other extras. Bravo!

Had a pickup order for 4:45 and had a puppy in mg car so I couldn't leave. My order sat on the counter for 25 minutes I could see it through the window. Eventually I had to quickly go inside and get it. 30 minutes late and not even a discount or sorry.

Yelp
I normally stay away from gas station food but honestly this place has got it down! I've tried their pepperoni pizza which is better than most places around town, the sauce and crust were great. The Cubano sandwich's are really good! They offer lots of custom drinks which have always hit the spot. I hate how much I love this place. But it offers good food for a great price. The staff is also always in a great mood and I enjoy dealing with them.

Yelp
The service was excellent, plenty of parking. The iced coffee is delicious and so much cheaper than other places. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. The food is actually extremely good... in love with the Mac and cheese. Family friendly.

Yelp
Just left Wawa at 9am--prime breakfast time--and no hashbrowns? Really? That's the one thing I came for. Whole morning thrown off now. Do better.

Yelp
I mean it's a gas station and has a deli , prepackaged food, most things a circle k has except they make sandwiches, pizza etc while u wait ..it's kinda confusing at first you order from a kiosk then go to the register to pay then come back to the deli to wait for your order..it was a bit chaotic.. we just got smoothies which were good..I wouldn't go out of my way to go here..none of the workers said anything no hello, no can I help you infact a few acted like they didn't want to be there by their expressions in the deli section..for all the hoopla it was just ok..

Billy M.

Yelp
I recommend the gas station BUT NOT the food section! I ordered for me and my wife for supper, and I was so sorry! First off I got to the store at the appointed time and my food was waiting at the cash Register. Not the food area. COLD and tasted like fake food. Rubbery fries and soy burger dressed. My wife ordered an egg sandwich and couldn't eat it because of the taste or lack of it! Buy your gas and get a snack but stay away fry the cooked food service!

Yelp
Placed order at kiosk. Take ticket to register at opposite side of store then back to deli area to wait for order. Haven't they heard of a POS (point of sale terminal)?

Yelp
What a fantastic addition to the gulf coast! Born and raised in NJ, I know a thing or two about Wawa. Living in the south for 10 years with no Wawa has been tough but each time I get the chance to visit, I do. Love it. Wawa has been my go-to for all events. Whether you need refreshing beverages, a hot meal, or a cold hoagie, Wawa should be your choice. Easy, quick and always delicious. Make sure to try the breakfast sandwiches on your way out! I love that they also sell the traditional Philly soft pretzels which are always a treat being so far from home. The fan favorite would probably be the coffee variety. The deli counter offers tons of cold coffee options as well as sweet treats, soups, pizza and even quesadillas! I hope this Wawa will offer the turkey bowl come November because that will surely impress these southern Wawa newbies! Top tier gas station with GREAT on the go food.

Yelp
Friendly staff, and good quality food! However, the layout is a little bit different. The coffee is on the opposite side of the gas station as the fountain drinks.

Yelp
Best thing that happened to Baldwin county. I was raised up north so Wawa is not new to me. No gad station comes close. Place is always immaculate and they have everything you could want right there. It's a well organized machine and you can order food yourself and you will be out the door in less than 10 no matter what you want. Staff are super friendly as well.

Yelp
Excellent at the gas pumps all new and clean. WaWa inside was packed and long wait for ordered. Italian hoagie was meager even with added cheese and pepperoni. Milk shake was very tasty and able to pick from a large selection. NO TASTYKAKES is a big miss. It's been a while since I've been in one in Delaware County Pennsylvania where they had a different feel to them.
