Georgetowners Are Not Sold on Rest Stop Mainstay Wawa - Eater DC

"Concerns have been raised by Georgetown residents about the impact of Wawa's new 7,100-square-foot store on their neighborhood. The chain, popular in Pennsylvania, recently opened a 24/7 outpost downtown and is further expanding to Tenleytown and Columbia Heights." - Warren Rojas

I had never been to a Wawa before and I was really surprised at what a nice business this is. The bathroom is available (a rarity in city settings) and the power outlets are working so you can charge your phone. Both good things for tourists. The packaged food is the standard convenience store fare but they do have a made to order sandwich section.

I love this Wawa location. Prime area, easy street parking, open 24/7, and a friendly staff. I stopped by recently for some subs, Mac n cheese and snacks. Our food was prepped under 10 mins. They do have an eating area by the window which is great for people watching. The location is spotless and all of the aisles were fully stocked

First time grabbing a sandwich in this DC Wawa store. Really easy to order on the in-store computer and the staff were very friendly. This is basically a convenience store like 7-11 but they make sandwiches & salads. I got a tuna sandwich and surprisingly it was better than Subway.

I have gone to this WAWA several times for lunch and the first time was great all the other times have been horrible. I order the same thing each time a roasted chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, buffalo sauce and a pickle. As i have mentioned the first time was great that is what brought me back all the other times. The second time the chicken didn't seem to be cook all the way it was cold. I figured I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try one more time. The third time I asked for my usual with the same toppings. I get my sandwich and there's no tomatoes or pickles on it. It is never really crowded when I go but the associates are always engage with a conversation with another customer while preparing meals, which is not a problem as long as you get the order correct. This store is location in one of the best parts of town and the service needs to comply.

My experience at the Wawa on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC, was very disappointing. The staff were unprofessional and showed a bad attitude when dealing with customers. They took too long to assist and seemed uninterested in providing good service. On top of that, the bathrooms were closed, and no one was allowed to use them, which is highly inconvenient for customers. The workers appeared lazy and acted like they needed constant breaks. This store seriously needs to improve its customer service and overall management

Very clean and wonderful service. The burger and fries were amazing! So juicy. You can tell by their voices that they were smiling behind their masks.

The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. I eat here every day for lunch but corporate needs to stop being cheap and get security for this store. I have witnessed employees get assaulted, multiple people stealing and constantly homeless people sleeping inside on the tables.

So I went in a couple hours ago. There was a light skin lady working the register which she was really nice. There was a black guy behind the counter where I had ordered some smoothies and milkshakes for my family. He was nice also. But there were two other black females that were there. One short and fat and one skinny and tall. I'm black Myself by the way. When I ordered three drinks I was only giving one after I had paid for it. When I politely communicated to them that there are two drinks missing and told them that I have the receipt to prove that I paid for it not only did they not care about the receipt but they wanted to see the ticket again. So I showed them the ticket with no problem. After they saw it they had an attitude because they had to make the two drinks. They were so rude and negative in their demeanor and my little ones were even offended by it. I mean if I didn't get angry for them messing up my order claiming that the machine didn't put the rest of the order up there and then why are they having an attitude and getting mad at me? The short fat one made my sister's milkshake very sloppy out of spite for the fact that she had to make it again. My nephew didn't complain about his but the tall skinny one was so low vibrational. Unfortunately they definitely fit a stereotype. It was a very unpleasant experience. Some of our people really need to do better... yep they played it off well enough in the interview to get hired. Karma is a real thing tho
