We are very used to seeing Wawa gas stations but not stores. Excellent customer service, great place to stop for some refreshment.

Sub sandwich is just what I expected… same great sub across all Wawa locations. Here from out of town and was surprised there was no beer cooler… must be a local thing. Surprisingly polite and kind cashier!

I go to this location a couple of times a week. Lately I feel unsafe and will search for somewhere else to go. Almost everytime I go into the store a homeless person is either threatening or as seen on tik tok fighting with an employee. WAWA has to do a better job at providing a safe work environment for its employees. Several people in my office have expressed the same thing and have stopped going to WAWA on 19th st. First, before even entering the store someone is practically blocking the door asking for money and if you don't give them something they threaten or disrespect you. WAWA needs to provide a safe environment not only for employees but for customers as well. I hope WAWA management takes this review seriously and will take action as soon as possible before someone gets hurt at the store. The customer service is great, employees are friendly, working hard but quite often are heard voicing their concerns at the lack of safety provided by WAWA. Please hire security!

Google
The service is pretty good, the people working late hours are polite. I’ve stopped here a few nights over the past year and the coffee area and food areas are clean. I was even surprised to have fruit options here too.

Google
I’ve been coming to this Wawa for well over a year and what used to be great service has turned a different direction. During the week it’s not as bad but the weekend customer service is terrible. Not only is the customer service but when entering the doors you are immediately hit with a person asking for money and I don’t mean on the sidewalk… they are in between the double doors inside.

I was HOMELESS in the District of Columbia from 17MAY2023 until I traveled on Amtrak to Philadelphia on 4OCT2023. When my State of Minnesota EBT Food ended on 31JUL2023 I stole the items in the photo without paying for them. I am sure that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz or Hennepin County could verify my purchases between 17MAY2023 and 31JUL2023 at this WaWa. The next time I am in the District of Columbia I will pay for these items. I am thankful for the early morning employee who said I could have a free coffee in the morning when I cleaned up the 4 outside tables before sunrise.

Google
Good experience for my very first time. Clean Wawa and very big place with a lot of stuff to buy. Breakfast burritos was pretty good for what you pay. 5 dollars for the egg, cheese and chicken burrito.

Yelp
Excited to discover this Wawa now open in downtown Washington, D.C. Having grown up with Wawas in the Philly burbs as a great local convenience chain leveraging their own dairy, glad to take advantage of this spacious location that offers Wawa's fresh made-to-order sandwich selection along with other items including real Philadelphia-style (i.e., rectangular) soft pretzels. Have food prepared for you your way, ordered through Wawa's efficient touch screen displays. This store also has a self-checkout option and a section with tables for eating. With my visiting buddy who never tried a Wawa before, we saw a guy and his daughter in the Metro devouring a Wawa sandwich. He had returned to the area on a trip and had to grab a Wawa hoagie! Told my friend, we "gotta go to Wawa!" Although it was 3 hours before dinner, I couldn't pass on squeezing in a delicious "shorty" cheesesteak and he took a shorty Italian hoagie. We also grabbed a couple pretzels for later! All so good! It's so much better than any Subway or 7 Eleven! Enjoy it better than Sheetz, too! Wawa is an awesome place to stop for any fresh made-to-order hoagie or other format sandwich, breakfast to-go, snacks, and Wawa coffee or bottled drink! Check it out! Hope one day to have them open up throughout New York City, so I can enjoy Wawa when at home!

Yelp
Nice Wawa location! In my opinion, Wawa is the king of convenience stores. It's a one-stop shop for grocery essentials, ice, and the legendary ICEE. First off, let's talk about value. Most of Wawa's items are reasonably priced. However, their salads are a little pricey. A grab-and-go salad is close to $10. Some of their made-to-order salads are nearly $12. Sheesh! Anyhoo, this particular location is clean and well-organized. Customer service is efficient. Excellent selection of snacks and beverages. Terrific coffee bar. They have everything from vanilla iced coffee to cold brew coffee to iced lattes. Craving a sandwich? Wawa has you covered. The sandwiches here are decent. Highly recommend the panini sandwich...think melted cheese with your own creation on perfectly toasted bread. Just so you know, the sandwiches are made-to-order. FYI: You can custom order food and drinks on one of the in-store touch screens. Pro tip: This location is open 24/7. How freakin' convenient!

Yelp
It's odd walking into what is essentially a gas station convenience store without the gas station portion. Don't get on me with this, but I'm more of a Sheetz person, so I only come to Wawa when there isn't a Sheetz around. I came in here because I was parched. I needed something to hold me over until I found a place to eat. And it wouldn't hurt to get a snack either. This...just doesn't feel like a Wawa. This feels like a dressed up 7-Eleven. When I think of urban convenience store, I don't think Wawa. I think of an old beat up 7-11 or a corner store in a neighborhood. When I came in here I felt like I had entered a cave. To get to the drinks, I had to walk what felt like the entirety of the building to get to the coolers. Then I had to walk all the way back towards the front to grab an appropriate snack and to check out. I couldn't get the self checkout kiosk to work for me so I had to go to a regular register. The whole time I was in here I felt a bit uneasy. Then it hit me, there was a bit of a police presence there. In my oblivious state I didn't even notice that something was going on. Come to think of it, no one else seemed to notice or care either.

Yelp
Came in right at closing after leaving a bar across the street. Our group was loud and a little crazy ( drunk ) but all the workers were great and patient. They got us all through the line quickly and were a good laugh with all of us.

Yelp
Don't eat out much during lunch but when I do, it is always a pick-up order from WaWa. Each visit to this location, the "soft serve" young man at the pick-up counter is never friendly and always seems to have an attitude. I could say a few others things about him that might get me banned from yelp, but will leave it as it is. Maybe he needs customer service training or maybe the owners are ok with him/her being as they are!!

Yelp
I absolutely love me some Wawa! Whenever I am in DC, I make sure to stop to this walkable Wawa to stock up on all my snacks and fuel up on caffeine during my business trip, its become a habit for me. The staff there provides good service, its open at all hours, the place is clean, and its always a go-to for me. There are plenty of snacks and beverages to chose from. I've ordered many hoagies, mac-and cheese, chicken strips, and mashed potatoes topped with Old Bay. I am addicted to their ice coffee! It always hits the spot. Even on the coldest of days, that iced coffee is in my hands and running through my veins.

Yelp
An oasis when the rest of this wing of DC closes early, this Wawa has a great variety of warm, cold, and packaged options. It's always clean with friendly staff and the food always seems reasonably priced, not unreasonably expensive for a convenient spot.

Yelp
Always clean, always friendly, always and I do mean always have fresh food!! Great to be back at work and explore this place when I'm looking for inexpensive eats that TASTE GOOD! I do want to share that I had a very good pre-packaged caesar salad for only $6 and some change it was very filling! Exercise patience during the busier times, otherwise you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Store #6008 in DC. Worst African American with ugly blond hair. Made a huge scene about me using 3 tea bags for my tea. Told me to pay for each tea bag as three 24 oz cups. If that's the case, wawa should put a big notice telling customers to use only one tea bag per cup. Very unprofessional & discourteous. Glad I didn't argue back. As a regular customer at a Wawa right by my residence, store 6008 in DC left a bad taste.

Matthew D.

Yelp
Food was terrible and service was at an all time low. I waited around 20 mins in an empty store for a cookie and a quesadilla. Meanwhile the workers were behind the counter making jokes with each other and playing games. When I got my food it was cold and the cookie was burnt. After getting a couple more items and spending around 30$ in the store I was asked to leave as I was not actively buying anything. It was 28 degrees outside and I was a paying customer?? After asking why I was being told to leave they threatened to call the cops on me and get me banned from the property. I would give it a 0/10 stars if it was an option.

Yelp
I normally don't leave a Yelp review for convenience stores, but my friends and I were pretty impressed with this Wawa's location (and the matcha latte with oat milk here). Overall, it was extremely clean and well-kept compared to other Wawa's I've seen, which usually looks old and crusty. This place reminds me of an upgraded 7-11 or whatever generic convenience store that comes to your mind. One of my friends got a matcha latte with oat milk (only 25 cents more than normal milk). I was skeptical at first, but the matcha latte ended up being quite good - much better than most of the matcha lattes I've tried in "legit" coffee shops. You can definitely taste the matcha in the drink and it wasn't too watery (a common problem I usually have with most matcha lattes). It also wasn't too sweet either and getting it with oat milk instead of regular milk was a solid choice. It was also less than $5 after tax for a 12 oz. drink. If I'm ever craving a matcha latte, I can trust that this Wawa's location can make a decent one.

Yelp
Wawa freaking rocks! My bf and I were looking for some quick food before we left DC and he discovered Wawa on Google maps. Once we found the place and were inside I was amazed! This place is like an upscale 7 eleven. It's probably more comparable to a Tim Horton's. We ordered our food fast and easily through the kiosks located around the store. The kiosk printed a small ticket that you then take to the counter to pay for your food. They have an array of choices of sandwiches and drinks like milkshakes, iced coffee and lattes. Besides the food made to order, there are a wide variety of snacks and drinks you can purchase throughout the store. Once we had our food we sat outside and ate. The food was delicious! I never had a convenience type store iced coffee so good and my chicken parm sandwich was the bomb. Wawa is a very clean well run establishment and I was pleased!

Yelp
This Wawa is well-run, and conveniently located. I frequently stop in, and am very satisfied with my experiece. Pros: Layout: This Wawa always appears clean, and the layout makes it feel spacious. The food seletion is well organized, and you can quickly find what you need. There are self-service stations present that allow customers to order their meals quickly, specifically and with limited interaction. These are very easy to use and appea to folks with a bit of social anxiety (me... lol). Bonus points: They always play catchy pop music that is upbeat and enjoyable :) Food: The food here is always on point. I generally get veggie subs or bagels, and the food always seems fresh and seasoned perfectly. I am a picky eater, and I have negative had experiences at other Wawas, where my order has had various mistakes, however all of my orders have been perfectly created here. I enjoy the self-service coffee station at this Wawa, and also have had good experiences with the milkshakes, smoothies, ad frozen coffees that I have puchased here (See pic!) The food is consistently good and exceeds my expecations. Customer service: Employees at this Wawa are extremely friendly and helpful. They are smiley and quick to offer help at all times. Personal story time: One time my card was randomly not working (I believe it had a dent in it and could not go through the machine). After running it several times with no success, the cashier smiled at me, said "you got this, just go on", and gave me a free sandwich. It honestly made my day-- it had been a rough day for me for many reasons, and the kindness of that cashier wil not be forgotten! Drawbacks: Slower when very busy: This is an extremely busy Wawa location, especially around lunch time and also on Friday-Saturday nights on weekends. The employees do their best to move people through quickly, but due to the infux of people, there can be a bit of waiting if you go during rush times, which is to be expected. During less-busy hours, food is prepared very quickly. Tips: Be strategic about when you go to this Wawa, and you will have an excellent expereince, with no waiting.

Yelp
This location is conveniently open 24/7. It's a quick stop for all your late night needs. I enjoy the subs mainly the tuna and roasted Turkey subs. There's a wide variety of specialty smoothies and drinks. The coffee and cappuccinos are perfect for a quick pick me up. I love that they offer some of my fave snacks that include Herrs chips, soft pretzels and tastykakes. The parking is not ideal there's limited places to park legally. There are garages and street parking a short walk away.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a place where they can buy 1% strawberry milk to reminisce their childhood and big eggnog all year round. This is a pretty big Wawa with indoor and outdoor seating. The star are also nice. I occasionally come for strawberry milk, snacks or eggnog. Located a short walk from the DuPont circle metro and Farragut north stop on the red line or down the street from the DuPont Circulator bus. The place is always clean when I arrive and well stocked and organized. If I'm in the area I'm more often than not willing to take a detour to purchase something I don't need but makes my belly smile. You can find childhood snacks, get a sandwich made, or buy a Wawa brand drink. Everything here is pretty good and proved well.

Yelp
I think the only Wawa in DC... Place is located in the heart of DC ... not far from the White House. Outside doesn't look like much ... but inside Is SUPER clean and has nice open presentation! The only nicer one I've seen was at Princeton and that one is GORG People love Wawa... it's stays busy! We stopped here for some drinks and snacks to take back to our hotel since we were visiting DC for a few days .

Yelp
Overall this is a good wawa Today my sandwich had items on it that I didn't order I don't care for lettuce or tomatoes I got to my office to find them both on my sandwich - an easy fix. Remove them - too much of a hassle to walk all the way back from my office Yo! I don't want to hafta unwrap my food to make sure it good before I leave a crowded store BUT I'm guessing that now I will need to.

Yelp
Wawa is a cult and I'm not part of it. I say that to show that I am not brainwashed like every other person in DC. Nostalgia floods back when they smell the hoagies toasting or the coffee brewing inside. I am a unbiased resident who enjoys a cheap, good place to eat when I find one. I'm not part of the cult, but I am a fan. Here's why: 1) What it means for DC- This location is the first Wawa in the city of DC and continues to prove the city is booming and attracting business from across the nation...scratch that...world. It's the BIGGEST and most tech forward store in the Wawa system. Go, DC! 2) What it brings to this neighborhood- At first, I thought it was placed in a random neighborhood. It's downtown DC not quite in West End, on the Mall, or Dupont Circle. Stepping back, it's smart. It's a play to attract the downtown work crowd AND stimulate residential living nearby. 3) What the price does for your wallet- It's a glamorized 7-Eleven with better prices. They are known for their custom made hoagies. Go to one of the many computer screens and follow the instructions. A 6-inch hoagie is $2.99 and it's filling. You can't beat that! 4) What they do in terms of options- They have a coffee bar inside. They have a Coca-Cola free style machine, milk shakes, any drink you can imagine. They have flatbread. They have candy bars. They literally have anything you'd want from a gas station for the VIP. If you're looking for a cheap, good lunch or dinner option, then you MUST visit Wawa. Let is be known this location is the first in DC (others are coming!).

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience at this Wawa location today. During normal operating hours the location was locked and would not allow for patrons to enter except for Uber eats delivery drivers. A worker came out and was incredibly rude when we asked if they were open? I don't understand - if you don't want to be open change your hours.
google avatar

Leah M.

Yelp
Best place ever to get coffee, quick items not to mention this is a big beautiful store! They say this is the largest and based on what I know it is the largest. In the Philadelphia region I'm visiting several Wawa stores per month and it's larger than any of them. However this store does not sell gas and its in the middle of other businesses. Much to your delight you can find hoagies. sandwiches breakfast lunch and dinner. Of course they have the best coffee ever! The WiFi is a little slow but not the service! The cashiers and staff were very friendly. I'm sure they will do well as this store is in a busy part of town.

Yelp
What is not to LOVE!?? We finally brought Wawa to DC and I am highly satisfied!! Also, extra points for being right by my job! Wawa is originally from Pennsylvania and has multiple locations up and down the east coast. Wawa is also well known for their subs and hoagies. This location is currently the largest Wawa! It is located along Dunkin Donuts and has indoor seating. Upon entering you see the checkout station to your left, the coffee station to your right and the MTO station in front. This location is very well organized, with every snack stationed clearly labeled. I purchased all Wawa products. A Wawa brownie, a hot dog, and a ginger ale. Everything was great for what it was. I love gas station mystery meat hot dogs, this one was also great! If you are a Wawa fan or have never been, I highly suggest visiting this location since we now have one in DC!

Yelp
My first time here since they open which was recently. Their coffee is very delish and cheap $ 0.95 for a large cup. Their smoothies and hoagies are so delish and loaded with all the goodness. The store is extremly clean and spacious. The staff and customer service are kinda hit or miss thing but mostly good and nice. Will definitely come back..
google avatar

Summer C.

Yelp
Ok if you're super hungry and short on time. If you get a sandwich, don't get it toasted. Got my chicken sandwich "toasted". Top of the bun was burned. Bottom of the bun wasn't even warm.
google avatar

Rhonda J.

Yelp
Love my cheap coffee. So excited to see WaWa in DC and they are doing very well and stay busy. The only challenge is that you can't make your own coffee but Jesus was phenomenal and patient in fixing our order. There are a lot of competition to grab coffee in DC but WaWa will always be dear to my heart. Ya cant go wrong with gas station coffee. They have outdoor seating but currently the indoor seating isn't allowed.
google avatar

Yelp
For Delawareans and north, craving a hoagie in DC? There is still no hope. The bread is just not good. Capriottis didn't make it here, same reason. So I still don't see the point of this gas station/ convenience store opening throughout DC. Though again, for Delawareans and North, this is your source for HERRS potatoes chips and TASTY CAKES! But both are in the back part of store- the good stuff is in the back! Oldies but still goodies.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Wawa!! This location is DC's first and supposedly is the largest one. There is sitting indoors so that's cool! I like the grilled cheese but wish it was part of the combo options because I'd love to enjoy it with a side of soup. Oh well, I guess ordering a small cup of soup is the same thing. There are plenty of ordering screens here but wait time can still be long. I've never come in here during rush hour so I'm not sure what that's like. Most of the time I'll come here on a Sunday when downtown area ish is quieter and parking is free on the streets. Still, wait time can be a while. For the price and quality, it's still worth it. This location also has the Wawa brand cold brew which you may have seen in ads on the highway but sometimes those Wawas out in the boonies don't have them. This location always has them which makes sense ya know since it's in the middle of the hustle and bustle of down town DC. Can't wait til the Columbia heights location opens!

Yelp
The joker from Chicago below: uh.. GrubHub, hubba.. why do they offer sang-wiches on the app? Chicagoans never were refined culinarians. It is because this is D.C. and everyone shops, eats, peruses at Wawa, often selling stuff out in half an hour-when they have specials. This Wawa is brilliant, huge, shiny and has it all. Come inside and help yourself instead of moping around with an app in your hotel. Wawa's proficient in hoagies, slushies, beers, coolatas, chocolates, newspapers, magazines, coffee, fruit, chips, dips etc. Open 24/7. Be Wawa-ed! 4 stars
google avatar

Janelle E.

Yelp
I would bet that most Wawas will have high stars because they are the bomb. This location is the first one I've been to that is all food no gas, and I love it! This location is a humongous store with so many screens throughout the store where you can place your order. The food, as always is fresh, using quality ingredients. No complaints here. I love that they have ample seating. It's clean. It's beautiful. Go, if you haven't yet.
google avatar

Estrella R.

Yelp
This is definitely not the Wawa that I've been accustomed to. Perhaps they should rename this location to Wawa Express because it's really a glorified convenience store/ deli, far from an actual grocery store. The second I walked in, the cashier barked out for me to pull up my mask and wear it properly. I know it's all for safety for everyone, but sometimes I wonder if a little bit of power and authority can influence their behavior. Everything about the store was nice though, and everyone there was nice. I ordered the sausage and scrambled egg bowl to go. I can't wait to dig into it the second I reach my office!
google avatar

Casey J.

Yelp
First time here, love the selection. However it is a bit annoying that after I ordered a panini I was told they couldn't make it because they didn't have the bread. Ok, fine. Then I ordered a burger and they told me they couldn't do that. Why are these options on the menu if they are not available. The staff at the sandwich counter seemed more interested in chatting with each other then marking orders. So much so that they forgot the couple next to me. Then we had to wait 10 minutes for two sandwiches. Kind of ridiculous.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
I suppose I kind of take Wawa for granted since I live in the MD burbs where it's everywhere. Even so, I appreciate the fact that it's only three blocks from my job and it's as epic as my locations at home. I was lucky enough to be there for its grand opening. And being the first Wawa in DC, it was BIG. How epic is it to have a bunch of staff clapping for and high fiving their customers, and listening to a live band?? Now that's how you do a welcome party! Wawa provides quite the variety of food, from fruits to salads to sandwiches to shakes to smoothies. I haven't tasted anything I disliked, and it's open 24/7, how convenient!!! It's definitely a cheaper alternative for lunch compared to surrounding food trucks and restaurants. I haven't really looked for it, but I'm sure they have that non-bank-affiliated ATM with no service charge somewhere in there. What a great place.
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast deals abound. I ordered a small coffee and a doughnut for breakfast and the tab was only $2. This particular location has also hosted several coffee deal days where the coffee was either free or one fixed price regardless of size. Ordering food is relatively quick and checking out is streamlined.
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
Wawa is excellent, think of it as a 7-11 with better coffee and better hot food selection. They have, candy, chips, muffins, doughnuts and pretty much any type of beverage you could think of. The Wawa is clean and much bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside. They also have indoor seating. Their sandwiches here are pretty good too, my favorite would be the buffalo chicken tender sandwich. To order sandwiches you use a touch screen device, this sandwich doesn't have the toasted option and you have to ask the staff to to toast it. The food here is fresh and the sandwiches are always loaded with a ton of meat.
google avatar

Louis L.

Yelp
This Wawa is the only one currently in DC, yet it's nearly the crown jewel of the Wawa Empire. I say this as a Pennsylvanian - I know WAWA. This WAWA is large and immaculately clean and organized. It also adds indoor and outdoor seating which no other WAWA in the country offers (WAWA is everywhere among 5 to 7 states). Not to mention, you get fresh, high quality items that no other chain can touch. Even the ones that are close in price (WAWAs prices smash all others) give you half the meat in their products. Not subway nor especially Potbelly, can compare. Touch screen ordering, breakfast, sides and more - you will find it all at the "Wah." I frequent 2...3 times a week.

Yelp
I love that this place is open 24 hours a day and has made to order sandwiches available at 7 am, when I first visited last Saturday, on the third day it was open. It's great not to have to be stuck with breakfast options even though I opted for a sausage, egg, and cheese on a 10 inch roll, which by the way was $5.99! The place was teeming with workers, most of whom seemed busy and either preparing sandwiches or ringing up customers or cleaning or pointing customers to places and things. I hope customer service stays at this level or improves even more, which would be tough! Wawa was clean, well-lit, well-stocked, and spacious. While the usual comforts of a convenience store are offered with their shelves of snacks and drinks, the sandwiches and coffee drew folks in, especially since any size coffee was free for the first three days. As for the sandwiches, who can pass up delicious hoagie rolls, soft and chewy but hardy to house whatever combination of condiments, meats, cheeses, vegetables, etc. you want? There are restrooms in the back and seating in the front and out front. Fountain drinks come in machines where you can mix and match. There's standard, well known national brands for drinks as well as more local offerings. Breakfast sandwiches were pre-made and sitting under heaters for customers to grab and go. There were lots of donuts and muffins.

Yelp
Im from Jersey and I'm shocked to see a Wawa on D.C.! Came here around 1:30 am for a quick snack. I got chicken salad with carrots as a healthy snack and a protein bar for back up just in case the chicken was bad. I was so pleasantly surprised that the chicken dip was fresh and tasty especially at 1:30am!!! Plus is was less than $2. Healthy and a bargain! This location is so well lit and super clean! They have such a wide selection and very inviting. The best convenient store in all D.C. Staff were friendly and helpful even in the early morning! Bonus: it's open 24/7.

Yelp
Not used to WAWA without a gas station attached to it LOL This is one of the cleanest locations I've been too. Full selection of beverages and snacks. Barista station like that of Starbucks. Manager of hot food prep is ON POINT! Made sure I received all 7 items I ordered.

Yelp
This is a good convenience store/ lunch fast food option in Downtown DC. Right smack in the heart of the K street corridor, the location serves Wawa well in attracting daily office crowd. and people do show up for takeout everyday! There are plenty of food options available with the usual (large) selection of drink and chips to go along with the food purchase. There are plenty of self service kiosks to order food at, though the ones closer to the main area often have a line. They do have coffee and smoothie options available tho I have not tried them out yet. The price for food is very reasonable and good for the budget conscious lunchers. Checkout lines are often long and may take a few minutes to pay for your order and then you may have to wait a few minutes to pickup your food. Still, a good option for lunch in the area.

Yelp
WaWa I love you. I have always loved you. I am SO happy you are in D.C. Anyone who knows me knows I have driven far and wide to stop for a hoagie and now with a WaWa in the D.C area I can visit my favorite spot always. This place is open 24/7, which is amazing, because who doesn't want a hoagie and a tasty cake apple pie at 2 am? It's a huge location with a ton of room to order and sit to enjoy your snacks. I got a turkey hoagie and it was pretty much NJ quality( almost). Great quality food, massive selection, and clean and unrowdy at 2 AM. Get your amazing coffee and lunch/breakfast here!

Yelp
I visited DC's first Wawa on its opening day and they pulled out all the stops for their entry into the non-gas station urban marketplace. The store actually had a string quartet playing pop music. There were easily over a hundred people there. The store is giving away free coffee for the next three days. Overall, this is the biggest Wawa that I've ever seen and is state of the art. I'm not a big fan of how the coffee station is organized but it's hard to tell if it's set up differently for the grand opening and free coffee days. And although I'm a Sheetz partisan in the never ending Sheetz vs. Wawa debate, I'm very happy that Wawa is in dc.

Yelp
Surprisingly good for the price and convenience. The cheesesteak, panini, and burgers were much better than expected.

Yelp
Last Sunday, I was looking for a place to pick up a quick lunch and some snacks for the Eagles game - what better place than the new Wawa down the street? Walking in, I was stunned - from the updated Canadian goose logo, outlined in white neon, to the gleaming metal surfaces and tastefully tiled walls, I felt like I'd walked into some upscale alternate Wawa dimension. To be fair, when Wawa went into the gas business, they did upgrade most of their locations, but this DC location is by far the nicest I've seen. After the initial shock, it was kind of a relief to find the familiar charmingly chemical-tasting Wawa-brand drinks (slightly pricier than remembered), alongside sodas and fancier kombucha and Naked juice offerings. I also ordered a hoagie, which came out quickly. What sets a Wawa hoagie apart for me is the bread - they use a soft roll that actually has flavor and toasts up really nicely. I used to buy lunch in the morning before school sometimes, and the bread held up surprisingly well, even when I got marinara-slathered meatball subs. The grand opening deal on shorties legit made my hoagie the same price as my drink - killer deal. I love that you order everything on touch screens and that you can pay for your food while your sandwich is being made - it really speeds up the process and is what made Wawa the king convenience store of Eastern PA. The snacks section is huge and well-stocked, and this Wawa, instead of gas, has a pretty sizable indoor and outdoor seating area (and WIFI), where you can sit and enjoy Wawa's coffee (which infamously ranked number one over La Colombe in some Philadelphia Magazine poll about a decade ago) from the biggest Wawa coffee station I've ever seen. I can definitely see this location becoming a favorite among professionals, students, and residents in the area.

Yelp
Beware not truly 24/7! Saturday night around 9PM we showed up and one of their employees was acting as the bouncer. We were waiting to get in to a mostly empty store, and could not get a clear answer to what was happening. We didn't know if it was a one in and one out or if the store was closed. The very rude employee kept saying it's closed for now but it's open. At one point we were told only 10 people were allowed in, and at that point they were allowing people to loiter inside instead of letting people who were trying to buy dinner and leave. The employee was yelling at Uber eats and door dash drivers to cancel their order and leave. All we wanted was an explanation as to if it's open or closed and if we should wait to be let in.

Yelp
I had to be in DC for about a month. This was my neighborhood wawa. Never thought I'd leave a review for a wawa. But this merited it. Both Ali & Jeremy acted like I've lived there all along. Both so friendly and helpful. There was some random computer glitch that wasn't allowing me to order a meatball sub through the kiosk, and Ali saw me struggling, and fixed it at the main terminal. I may have had a breakfast burrito virtually every day when in town. Decent food, phenomenal staff.

Yelp
If you know Wawa, you know that they are something worth stopping at. They make the break from driving something kind of fun. And if I am driving knowing there is Wawa around, I will try my best to stop here and not another gas station. It is big, it is nice, and they have many things. They actually made it so diverse that from the non healthy greasy food, to the healthy salad and eggs, everybody should be able to find something they like here. It is hard to be perfect when servicing thousands of people every week. And they can make mistakes. But they are still a place many can learn from.

Yelp
Wawa chain convenience stores are the greatest around, hands down. There's nothing that competes with the brilliance of Wawa's and their amazing products. They've got brand name, they've got company product, they've hot and ready food along with breakfast a plenty! Wawa is the go to for this city and should be nation-wide 24/7. Luckily, this one particularly has an amazing store front, very well lit and displayed with a grand inside. The staff is great and friendly, the products are easy to find the order kiosks are so clean it is unbelievable. I personally LOVE Wawa and this store itself leads up to hold the expectations of this franchise! Six stars if possible.

Yelp
I Just went to order alllll kinds of food from Wawa through GrubHub; I spent a good 15-20 minutes placing my order only to be told, the items you ordered are not offered at this time. If that is the case, why are the items offered in the app right now? allowing me to spend 20 minutes, submit my order only to be told, order not accepted. Start over. This was my first attempt at ordering from Wawa and it will be my last.

Yelp
A very clean and fresh location that fits right into the business setting here in DC. It's pretty much everything you would expect from most other Wawa locations except without gas. There is a decent selection of chips and snacks to please any person who is looking for a quick fix. The street parking is VERY limited so you should choose the time of day when you visit wisely. The food is pretty good for a convenience store, but the service has been hit or miss. One day I've gone in late at night (2am) and the service is decent where I'm in and out. It has been amazing where I go in during lunchtime (noon) and come out in impeccable time. And finally it has been trash, where I'd come in after a morning rush (1030) only to wait 30min to get a bagel with cream cheese. Although I've had my moments with this location, I'll still frequent it because it comes in clutch!
