This place is amazing. Our server Allison took such good care of us. The wings are absolutely amazing. We also had the amazeballs which were heavenly. Half price pitchers on Saturdays is what brought us here. Well definitely come back!

Aweful! Worst service ever! This was the first and last time I will ever go! The food arrived fairly quick, since we were the first ones there. We didn't see our waitress again until we were done. We didn't get ketchup for the french fries until the end of the meal, when they had gotten cold. We had two to go orders, which we didn't receive until 45 minutes after we were done eating. The to go orders didn't come with any utensils. They forgot to include the dressing with the Asian pear salad, the spinach was not fresh and I doubt they were Asian pears. The waitress made eye contact with me several times, but still did not come over. She was not apologetic about the wait. I don't think the manager even took notice of us sitting and waiting.

Google
Great food and great draft beer selection! This place has my favorite pizza in Denver: the Atomic Chicken! The staff is fabulous, and treats you like family. Located in one of the best areas in downtown Denver, slightly off the beaten path of the tourist crowd. Also, within walking distance to Coors Field, Elitch Gardens, and the Pepsi Center!

Google
Tonight's experience was awful. Very inattentive server, Willow, and very slow kitchen. Took almost 45 to get our food even though the walk in to-go, 10 or 15 after we sat only took 15. On top of that, the bartender was pouring well instead of top shelf like we ordered. Probably a good thing they are selling out at the end of January. For shame! Won't be back for a while.

Google
This is a pretty good place for dinner. Looks like they have lots of beers on tap although I didn't have any. The lasagna was very good - got the last one. The location is great too. I've heard the old place was much better though.

Stopped by while on a layover. Ordered the Wazee burger which proved to be a rare combination of sweet and salty. The service was great and as I ate at the bar, the bartender proved to be very sociable. Overall a great experience.

Google
Wazee used to be a great restaurant. USED to be. Had one of the worst dining experiences ever the other night. The server kept forgetting to bring our drinks, and then he forgot to give the kitchen our order (If you smoke a lot of pot, you probably shouldn't work at a job that requires decent memory skills...Just saying). After about 30 minutes, the server began hiding from us. I finally tracked him down 60 minutes after we had placed our order to tell him we had to go. If you want bland pizza on bad crust, order it to go, because the service sucks out loud.

Google
Very glad that we came here. Our group, three adults and two children stumbled into a trivia night which kept the kids amused and allowed us a leisurely dinner pace. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts and a pear Gorgonzola salad for appetizers. The sprouts were at the perfect level of caramelization and the salad offered a sweet companion that both boys ate without complaint. We had two pizzas a standard meat lovers, delicious and the white Tuscany that was very garlicky and good for the adults at the table, but ignored by the kids. We were a winner in the trivia and used our "prize" to grab a New York Raspberry cheesecake that for the most part was disappointing - but for us free. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Slides into my top 5 favorite meals of all time. I visit from ATX quite often. Love trying new spots. This will become a restaurant I make sure I visit every time moving forward. Oysters - so fresh. So clean. Wedge salad - it's known and talked about for a reason. Get it (but split it) Steaks looked great, don't get me wrong. The people next to me loved them. BUT THE MOVE IS THE HOT CHICKEN!!!!! It's not fried like you would think. It's completely baked and drowned with a phenomenal house crafted buffalo sauce. To die for. Sides - bacon kimchi rice?? Order two. You're going to want to take extra home. Mac & cheese croquettes - nothing needs to be said here. That's all. I'm gonna eat my leftovers out of the box now till I throw up

Yelp
We were pretty disappointed by this restaurant after all the rave reviews. For a nearly $400 meal for a family of 4 (including 2 kids who didn't really eat much) you can go to an actual steakhouse and have an amazing meal with wonderful service - you won't get that here. I looked up the menu online before making a reservation and decided it would be fine for our family as they had a burger on the menu- we have one kid who's a picky eater but will always eat a burger. When we were seated for an early dinner however, the menu we were brought did not have a burger or anything that would appeal to this child. We ordered as best as we could... then while trying to get the kid to eat kimchi fried rice which she was not having (and it was super over seasoned, no one really liked it. Mac and cheese sticks in a red sauce - also not good)... we THEN see the people around us actually being served cheeseburgers, and even a basic looking grilled ham and cheese sandwich... so that was really frustrating as there is apparently a more basic menu that they decided NOT to give to a family with children. Overall there was nothing great about this place. Service was clunky, dinner rolls came out AFTER our steaks. Food was fine, nothing special and certainly not worth the exorbitant cost. We won't be back and would not recommend it to others, there is nothing here I would return for.

Yelp
Wow. It takes a lot to blow my mind when it comes to food these days, but A5 Steakhouse delivered an experience that was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was perfect--modern yet cozy, with just the right amount of buzz to make it feel special. I was nervous about choosing a steakhouse for my buddy's bachelor party. You know how it goes--everyone's a critic when it comes to steak. But A5 nailed it on every level, and I couldn't have been happier with the decision. Let's talk food. My steak was incredible--perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and tender as can be. And get this--I didn't even order one of the most expensive cuts! The sides were absurdly good--those mashed potatoes? Unreal. I'd honestly come back just for them. And the desserts? They weren't just an afterthought--they were phenomenal, the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable meal. I'm not a wine person at all, but our server picked out a bottle that turned into multiple bottles. And then there's the cocktail I ordered, the Mexican Cousin. Let me tell you--it was brilliant. Creative, balanced, and packed with flavor, it might just be one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. The service was flawless too. Our server handled the energy of a bachelor party like a pro--attentive, friendly, and patient without ever feeling overbearing. They made us feel like VIPs the entire night. When a place not only meets expectations but exceeds them for a high-stakes celebration, it's worth shouting about. If you're looking for a steakhouse in Denver that's going to impress everyone in your group, pick A5. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The service was good, the food was good, the place was def cute date spot... but it was JUST good. The steak was not my favorite and I wish I would have ordered a different one, but even after explaining what I liked they recommended me one where I wasn't to sure and I shouldn't have listened. None of the steaks come with sides either, so you'd expect this place to be outta this world, and honestly I prefer A1 over their A5 steak sauce. I feel like it's overpriced for the experience I had. The food took a long time too. Best thing we had were the mac n cheese croquettes on HH. When we arrived they said they were super busy and asked if we had a reservation, but there were open seats at the bar and only a few tables sat so that was confusing. They had just opened for the night how could that be? We were definitely expecting a better experience with all the mention of this place.

Linna L.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday around 6PM. Definitely make reservations because they will make you wait to get a table since reservations are priority. The bar is always open for walk ins if they are not busy. The staff were amazing. They were friendly, communicative, and friendly. The food was cooked to perfection. We ordered the NY 30oz sirloin steak, poutine, and Mac & cheese coquettes. Everything was so delicious. The steak was so juicy. The place has such a nice vibe. Perfect for girls night or date nights. There is street parking and many parking decks nearby. I'd love to come back.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
My girlfriend treated me to a birthday and engagement celebration at A5, and it was such a memorable experience! I hadn't been before, but I recognized the fun neon sign as soon as we pulled up. Inside, the vibe is amazing--super cute and perfect for a girls' night out or a cozy date night. We shared several dishes: the hamachi, the wedge salad, the tenderloin steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese croquettes. Everything was absolutely delicious! The only small critique I have is about the wedge salad--it could've used a bit more dressing, and the pickled onions felt slightly out of place. But honestly, I'm just nitpicking. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and paired beautifully with the chimichurri, and all the other dishes were spot on. A5 surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate, which was such a thoughtful touch. I really appreciate when restaurants go the extra mile, especially when you're already splurging on a meal. I can't wait to come back and take my fiancé here for a date night soon!

Yelp
Our flight landed earlier than expected, so naturally, we were craving a steakhouse instead of just any random spot that happened to be open late lol. We called ahead to make sure a 10:30 PM walk-in would be okay, and the host eagerly invited us to come by! Miraculously, we found street parking right in front of the restaurant when we arrived. Inside, there were still a few tables finishing up their meals, but we were the last ones to be seated. Our waitress was super friendly, walking us through all the specials, but we decided to go with a fan favorite from the reviews: Mac and cheese croquettes for the appetizer. I'm not sure if it was the hunger talking, but we devoured them in minutes. Fried to golden perfection, but the real star was the pepper jam. It was tangy with just a hint of spice, and it paired perfectly with the cheesy croquettes. For our mains, we ordered the Colorado rack of lamb with bacon and kimchi fried rice. Now, cheese in fried rice isn't something I would expect, and definitely not cotija, but I'm officially a fan. Green onions, cotija cheese, bacon- SMACKED. This classic Asian dish with a twist paired well with the lamb, especially since the lamb was also Asian-inspired, glazed with tamarind chutney and served with saag curry. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

Michael C.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Cool vibe inside the place. Service was prompt and staff was all very nice. One thing that was unacceptable is that they didn't devein the lobster tail that I added onto the steak entree. This is unacceptable for a restaurant with this level of pricing and expectations. I had to cut open and devein it myself.

Kerissa K.

Yelp
Amazing food, I was in love after the oysters but truly was dazzled by the options and how good everything tasted. I tried something new - their tartare sandwich. So. Freaking. GOOD! Who knew uncooked meat could be so yummy? Split that with my co-eater while sipping on some wine and the main course didn't take long to follow. Everything flowed well and our server was great at explaining the items and checking in on us without being too intrusive. Lamb chops, mashed potatoes and broccolini. The broccolini was the star by far, believe it or not, and it definitely wasn't because the lamb or potatoes weren't bomb. Potatoes were the perfect balance of thick and creamy. My only note for the chops is that I wish the serving was juuuust a little more. For two adults, we probably needed a bit more meat to fully round out the plate. This place isn't cheap but it's worth it for a special occasion, we had no complaints.

Chris L.

Yelp
The food here was phenomenal. All I could think of when devouring my meal was when I could come back. Came here for happy hour and sat at the bar. Friendly service. Mac and cheese croquette was excellent, as was the wagyu burger - maybe one of the best burgers I've ever had. I don't even like burgers that much and I can't stop talking about it. Perfect brioche bun, caramelized onions, pickles, tender and perfectly chargrilled wagyu. The whole experience was excellent and I've told many friends since then that they should come check this place out. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu.

Emilie G.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend coming here to try some of their dishes - they are unique and delicious. The service wasn't that great, we were waiting for our food and then bill for extended periods of time. All the food came out at once too when the server said he would stagger it (entrees came out before our appetizers which was a little annoying). The drinks are also not worth the price (tiny and expensive). I would recommend going somewhere else if you want a good cocktail. But overall we came here for the food and it didn't disappoint, even though it arrived out of order. We would go back for the salad, Mac and cheese, and lettuce wraps. So good!

Richard J.

Yelp
Service and ambiance were really good but I am always here for the food! Caesar salad was dressed and seasoned very nicely. Love a good amount of anchovies and Parmesan. Hamachi was great, very refreshing and good red chilis Steak took the longest to come out and was basically black and blue not rare. Pretty cold in the center still and not really seasoned for that thick of a steak.

Yelp
Walked in without a reservation on a Tuesday night with my 12 year old son and the place was packed. We were greeted quickly by the host and after a short 10 minute wait we got seated (much better than the 25 mins for bar seating they quoted us). The food was incredible! The A5 Wagyu appetizer is worth the steep price tag, Bone-in NY Strip was prepared and seasoned perfectly. Also recommend the Japanese milk rolls and whipped potatoes. Excellent service from our waitress, Nicole, and manager, Mark. Atmosphere is friendly and fun. Will definitely be back!

Lauren D.

Yelp
A near perfect experience at A5 this weekend. It's so beautiful and cozy in there. I love that they kept the dumbwaiter from Wazee Supper Club. Everything we ordered was amazing! My husband and I split the wedge salad, Denver steak (plus the jumbo shrimp), mashed potatoes and heirloom tomatoes and I loved it all. It was also the perfect amount of food for the two of us. My one knock is that they sat the two of us at a 4-top that faced out toward the rest of the dining room. Felt like we were at the head table of a wedding. We had a reservation, so I would expect better seating, but otherwise, it was a lovely night!

Anahit S.

Yelp
Their A5 wagyu from Japan is exceptional! The staff and crew are amazing; they saw me accidentally spill a very small amount of my drink and without me asking brought me a new drink. Atmosphere is dark and ambient with not too much fuss. The appetizers, drinks, main course were all 10/10. Hands down best steakhouse in Denver.

Guy B.

Yelp
Added gratuity on a deuce! Never will return! Don't think they will even care ! Food was creative and good! Service was good! Really won't recommend!

Tony M.

Yelp
That burger is the best tasting burger I've had in Denver. I was shocked how tasty and juicy and flavorful it was. This is worth 2x its price. Must have for happy hour. Service was top tier. The vibes here are immaculate. Also got the Mac and cheese croquette 10/10. With their spicy red sauce. This is a perfect place for happy hour or a nice dinner. Highly recommend any day of the week. This is the best burger in town hands down. Especially for this price. I'd put this burger against anyone across the nation.

Heather C.

Yelp
I didn't know what to think of this place when we got there - the menu is like an Asian Steakhouse - but I was really impressed. We tried several different things - the hamachi appetizer, the Korean steak wrap, salad, bacon fried rice, bavette steak (with the best chimichurri I've ever had), French fries and scallops. Everything had good flavor and was unique - not something you will find everywhere. They have a solid cocktail and wine list as well. Our server regularly checked in on us and was incredibly nice and the ambiance is pretty casual and not a stuffy steakhouse. I would definitely go back as there are still a lot of items I want to try on the menu!

Christopher D.

Yelp
My company and a client went to A5 for a business dinner and were delighted. Upon entering, my party remarked at the non-stuffy warmth. Despite being a steakhouse, the decor was more modern punk cowboy than staunch white tablecloth. Moving on to service, I generally found service to be good. I did feel things moved a bit slower than I expected given the restaurant was not crowded, and we were one of the bigger tables, however, I didn't think this marred the night in any way. Drinks were good. Some of us enjoyed mixed drinks, others wine, but all were satisfied. I think my only caveat is that there was no sommelier present and I felt the wine we ended up with, although good, was not particularly unique or memorable. The food was the highlight by far. From the Asian fusion appetizers, to the delectable rolls, to the wonderful sides, everything tasted wonderful. Needless to say, the steaks stole the show. A variety of different cuts were offered and each felt special and elevated. I got mine with bone marrow and felt (despite not having a filet mignon option) the meat was as well prepared, flavorful, and tender as that at steakhouses that are double the price. This brings me to pricing. The pricing was very fair and you could do a dinner for two for about $130 depending on what you ordered (pre tax and tip) which is remarkable for a steakhouse. All said, despite a few small hiccups, I highly recommend A5. Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Consistency: N/A

Justin T.

Yelp
I highly debated whether to go with 4 or 5 stars on this. As you can see I elected a 5 star. Here's why; All the meat we tried was absolutely delicious. Their house salad is amazing. The Waygu skewers are a must. Our waiter Mario did a stellar job, he did a good job with recommendations and checking on us throughout. The ambiance has sort of a hipster vibe, not necessarily my favorite but somewhat upscale and on the smaller side. I will say the popcorn appetizer was not good, the popcorn was stale. Other than that everything was really good, especially the steaks and meat options. This place is expensive, unless you go during happy hour and get the burger or wagyu skewers, it's affordable and delicious! I would go back. Happy eating.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
A5 is a great steak restaurant in the downtown/Union Station area. Expensive but worth it. Chilled oysters came with, I think, shaved horseradish, mignonette, cocktail sauce, and a lemon with netting. East and West coast were available; and only $2.50 each during happy hour (normally $4-5 depending on quantity). Small issue: there were some broken shell fragments in the oysters. They need to be a bit more careful when shucking. Bavette steak: cooked to the right temp, juicy, and tender. Good sear and charring. Good cut of meat, no gristle. They charge a 20% service fee instead of a tip. It's not hidden because it's mentioned on their website and on their paper menu. They make it clear that they don't expect anything on top of that. They said that the 20% is split between front of house and kitchen, and that any additional tip is given to the front of house.

Angie R.

Yelp
Seriously why did it take me so long to try this place? Amazing thru and thru zero complaints! From the welcoming warmth of the host-Javi you are a gem! To the server and the quality of food all amazing! Thank you Mark for making us feel special and thank you to our server who was on it! Not a dirty dish in site when the next entree came out, the check-ins were consistent but not enough to make you feel rushed. The place is worth every penny! Thank you for a wonderful night -we will be back!

Amanda G.

Yelp
My husband got us a reservation for Mother's Day as a surprise and boy was it!!! They had an oyster bar (12 for $50), Waugh beef steak and eggs and Waygu chilaquiles and crab and asparagus Benedict. So good- definitely a bit unorganized but staff was amazing and SO helpful and accommodating!!! A lot of the menu items were meant for sharing so ask about portions but well worth it to get to try EVERYTHING!! They don't advertise their brunch so call for reservations but a 15/10 for the food but 30/10 for the staff including Mario our server! Thanks for making Mother's Day so special! I've haven't ever tried this restaurant before but if this is an indication of the food on the regular, count me in! We WILL be back!!

John F.

Yelp
Ok, so I reviewed this in the past but have some changes. While the steaks and food in general is very good (5 stars) there are a few reasons I will skip A5 and instead go to the keg or another steak house in the future. 1. Price. A steak, sauce, fries, and a coke was $105. Hey, I know prices have gone up but come on. 2. Included tip: They now include 20% tip on your bill. This itself I'm all for, no issue. The issue is, they still leave a tip line on the bill making people feel uncomfortable not to leave more. So in the end most people will be out a total of 40%. That's crazy. At least make it VERY clear to leave the line blank for good service and that you normally shouldn't add anything else. 3. No free bread. Again, come on guys. Avg customer is paying over $100, you can't give them a few free rolls or bread? So once again, place is cool, food is awesome, but these few things need to be addressed before I put A5 back on my list.

Ali W.

Yelp
One of the best steakhouses we have been to in Denver. My husband and I ordered the Japanese milk buns, Caesar salad, mac and cheese croquettes, whipped potatoes, and the bone-in NY strip. We split everything between us and it was the perfect amount of food. Everything was spectacular and cooked to perfection. Our server Brittany was delightful and provided absolutely top-notch service. We will absolutely come back!

Ronnie B.

Yelp
A5 Steakhouses lived up to all the hype! It's was everything we expected and more. We had a Sunday night reservation for a party of 6. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, she also gave us a great wine recommendation. The menu is reasonably priced for the value you get. The food was cooked to perfection, came out on time cooked to the correct temperature. The sides are big enough to share. We truly enjoyed our dinning experience. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Denver.

Robert N.

Yelp
A wonderful premium experience in downtown Denver, A5 is a truly special place. The service is absolutely top notch, with our server going so far as to have the kitchen prepare an item that wasn't even on the menu because my friend was craving a burger. The place is intimate but with a busy downtown vibe that has life to it. The food was amazing, from appetizers to main dishes and even the specialty made hamburger, the food was so delicious we ate until we felt like bursting. If there is a downside to A5 it is that it's expensive, but you won't regret spending up for the quality you get.

Jason J.

Yelp
Right off the top here: the Japanese milk bread is worth the price of admission on its own. And while we weren't there for happy hour, we did get a look at the menu because the time was right - and we did get a happy hour drink before dinner - the wife and are certain we could gorge ourselves stupid and require an Uber home on the Happy Hour menu alone and spend like, under $150 for both of us. We started with the Beef Tartare Sando which was out of this world. We also got oysters and the Wagyu Yakitori off the HH menu, and everything was straight up divine. Moving into dinner I was able to snag the American Wagyu Burnt Ends which aren't on the menu, but they only have some of the time. It came with a couple of slices of the Japanese milk bread, a couple of small sides - and we got some whipped potatoes and broccolini. My wife dove into the Tenderloin with a bordelaise sauce. Honestly could not have been happier with everything. Food was top notch, service was very casual and friendly. We had everything we needed and never waited for anything. It was a really, really wonderful experience. LOVED our time here, and can't wait to go back.

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Just adding to my previous review how amazing this restaurant is. Everything is delicious! Don't skip dessert here either! Trust me!

Blake A.

Yelp
I recommend A5 to everyone! First the service was 10/10! Especially Javier, Mark, and Joe. These guys should set the standards for the industry. Thanks for all of the wonderful recommendations and going above and beyond for us. We ate several dishes of delicious food in this beautiful restaurant. Memories were created that will last a lifetime time, we can't wait to go back! Again, thanks to the whole team at A5!

Edie A.

Yelp
Definitely visit here for HH as their food items are an excellent deal and you get a good tasting of their menu. We were immediately greeted by the host and seated at our table. We started with a half dozen of their oysters ($2.50 each on HH). The mac and cheese croquette was lightly battered in panko and had a garlicky tomato sauce. They had a special pork meatball skewer that had just the right amount of spice. Being a steakhouse, the highlight of the meal was the wagyu yakitori and wagyu A5 burger. The A5 burger is $13. It is 6 oz, grilled to perfection. Served on a toasted sesame seed bun with buterkasse cheese, griddled onions, pickles, and special sauce (my mouth is watering as I am writing about it!) My only complaint is the margarita had way too much ice. (See pic - "Iceberg, right ahead!") The 20% tip is automatically added to your bill. Our service was excellent.

Sherrin M.

Yelp
Had this place saved because I saw a cute tiny little sign downtown one night and so glad I came back to try it out. It's easy to miss from the outside but super cute inside. Their happy hour is incredible. The flavors and quality of food is spot on! We got margaritas and they were tasty - strong, a little sweet and on point. The hh oysters were smaller but refreshing and they had fresh horseradish to serve. You MUST get the wagyu yakitori - it comes with one skewer. If you like meat, get one per person. So delish. Tender, flavorful, incredible. The mac n cheese croquettes are good - priced per croquette. These are pretty heavy and rich. The croque monsieur has the most amazing bread - essentially a ham and cheese sandwich, elevated. Also good and filling. I'm excited to come for a full meal! Our hh stop was filling and incredible! Service was quick - there's an automatic 20% gratuity that's charged that our bartender had mentioned also.

Megan M.

Yelp
WOW. That's all I can say! Everything here is perfection. We came here for our anniversary dinner and loved all of the food and the vibes. The music was great. We had -oysters -artichoke -A5 wagyu (totally worth it if you're coming here) -20oz dry aged rib eye -scallops -Mac and cheese croquettes -kimchi fried rice (I'm not usually a fried rice fan and this was amazing, far surpassed any fried rice I've had before) -chocolate cream pie (unbelievable) Cocktails were well balanced and spirit forward. Overall amazing spot! It's not cheap by any means, but I felt all of the starters and sides were good portion sizes and worth the money. We had plenty of left overs.

Mark R.

Yelp
We went to A5 for a birthday dinner. Wonderful atmosphere: they had 2 levels for seating and just about every table was taken. Highly recommend getting a reservation at least a week or two in advance. We sat upstairs which was neat cause we could oversee the whole place. Our server was awesome. We asked about the steak cut options and he gave us a great walk through and super honest about what he would recommend when I asked about the Denver vs Tenderloin. We got the poutine for an appetizer plus the Japanese Milk Bread Rolls and whipped mash potatoes sides to share and a steak each. Everything was delicious, however next time I would opt for something other than the poutine. Definitely not an every date night kinda of place but for special occasions this place is perfect.

Bi G.

Yelp
So disappointing. The food is mediocre, to say it politely. Cold whipped potatoes were served - and we specially asked that they be served at least warm. An overly sour umami aioli for the French fries, way too much acidity in the tempura eggplant side dish accompanied by fatty, fried eggplant slices. A poorly presented tasteless burger and steak Tatar. Both were nothing but ordinary. The steak Tatar was presented being smashed between 2 slices of bread. If I want to eat a sandwich, I go somewhere else. The food was poorly presented and off-tasting overall. We returned more than half of our food because it was not enjoyable at all, and we left hungry without ordering mains. Our waiter wasn't motivated, although the table section where we sat wasn't busy. This "dinner experience" was a waste of money. There are much better steak houses in Lower Downtown Denver, so you might wanna stay away from this place.

Malikah M.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying in downtown Denver and our concierge suggested this spot for dinner. It was very easy to make reservations which I highly suggest if you're dining on the weekend. The spot is very quaint with a great ambience but it's small and will require reservations. The food was absolutely delicious and it was one of our favorite dining experiences in Denver. The steak was cooked perfectly and you absolutely must try the fried mac & cheese.

Yelp
We came to eat at A5 Steakhouse on Saturday night the 20th of May before attending a concert at the Ogden theater. I called the Tuesday prior and the guy who answered helped me get all squared away for the reservation. This place takes a deposit for your reservation, but it wasn't much, $30 I believe, which looking at from their end is smart, and not gouging you too much. We had drinks at the bar prior to getting sat at our table for dinner. Brent I believe was the bartender and he was helpful guiding us through the menu once we were sat on what to order. Once we got sat we ordered the NY Strip to split, along with the poutine, and the greens. NY Strip was cooked medium, and had great flavor. It came with this really unique house steak sauce, it had the perfect little touch of curry in it, the chimichurri was great also, I basically split all my bites with both sauces. Food was awesome, and we highly recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Checked out this steakhouse and all the food was a hit! We ordered so many different dishes and they were all so good. Our server was great, gave us complimentary dessert, which was so nice! Since we got so many dishes, I'll just highlight my top 3 haha Beef Tartare Katsu Sandwich - Delicious! Wow, this sandwich was so delicious, the bread was so buttery and the beef tartare was so flavorful. Still thinking about this lol Buttermilk Fried Chicken - Amazing! I love the asian flavor twist on this. The skin was crispy on the outside and the inside was so soft and moist, not dry at all! Honey Nut Tart - Amazing! There was something so decadent about this dessert, all the flavors complimented each other. I was so full by this time, but I couldn't stop going in for more haha

Yelp
Great dinner, portion sizes + price are definitely reasonable for the quality of food. Beef tartar sando was so unique, hamachi crudo fresh. Definitely get a mini espresso martini!

Yelp
Wow, wow, & wow. My partner and I had such a pleasant experience at A5. The service really made the visit even more enjoyable because the food was very good. I thought their steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Really didn't even need sauce (that's how you know a steak is damn good!). The ambiance was a vibe too. They have a bar, ample seating and even a small section for seating upstairs too. Street parking was a bit tough to find around dinner time on a Thursday but didn't have to go more than 2 blocks. What I have to say is, go try A5 for yourself. I doubt you'll regret giving it a shot ;)

Yelp
Sat at the bar it was completely empty, but a charming bartender served us. My husband said it was the best steak he's ever had. I was a bit offended because I cook a lot but this shisito pepper sauce they served with the steak was probably one of the best sauces I've ever had on a steak too. We ordered the Denver steak. It did not disappoint. We also had oysters from Alaska that were so fresh! Loved the experience. Worth the money. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
Great food (varied selection of oysters phenomenal aged bone-in New York strip & yes, charred cabbage), great service & great wine. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
We just enjoyed our anniversary dinner. Service was great. My husband had the Santa Maria Tri tip and I had the Picanha cut. Appetizers (hamachi) and sides were good. My steak had a good amount of gristle, that was disappointing. My husband's steak was great.

Yelp
We came here for drinks and had a great time. The ambiance was amazing and the drinks were great - really want to come here for a steak! Service was also memorable, highly recommend coming here for a great experience.

Yelp
Worth the experience for the delicious food. I took my fiance here for his birthday. We basically shared a four course smorgasbord of mish mashed flavored foods that actually worked quite well together. 1. Mussels escabeche and tropical cocktails 2. A5 wagyu (4 oz cut into 4 pieces with onion petals and sauce) 3. Santa Maria Tri-tip sirloin (no sauce needed), lobster, Japanese milkbread rolls, and kimchi fried rice with a glass of Tooth + Nail cabernet 4. Sticky toffee pudding with a maple flavored quenelle We loved just about every bite we had. We went because of the A5 and it was worth the melt in your mouth experience. Savor it! While I enjoyed the quenelle, I didn't find the pudding to be very special. I didn't get photos of everything. Oops! Items to note: -A5 changes their menu frequently enough affording a new experience per visit. This also means, something you loved once may not be available during your next visit. -Service is great from host to wait staff. Huge thank you to each of them! -While the ambiance is visually fun and funky, the restaurant is small and VERY loud. Maybe it is less loud during non-peak hours? We were there during dinner on a Saturday and had to raise our voices a lot to speak to one another. Two-tops are small and also tightly jammed together with little walking space to squeeze through. The loudness is the one reason we will likely not return. -The happy hour menu looks lovely and economical in comparison to the main menu. -Make reservations because they do get busy! You pay a small deposit which is refunded almost immediately after dining. -The tip is already included in your bill. You can add on to this if you feel service was exceptional, which we did. -Give yourself time to park. It's downtown Denver. -Don't forget to take a photo of the neon lit fragile leg lamp (ala Christmas Story).

Yelp
We had a great experience at A5. We ordered a couple of drinks to start. The drinks were mostly ice but they tasted good without being overly strong. I read on the website that A5 is a Puerto Rican inspired restaurant. My boyfriend is Puerto Rican so we were expecting to see a few familiar dishes but the menu was geared more towards steak and Asian fusion dishes. We ordered the Japanese Milk Bread Rolls and the Mac n' cheese croquettes for our appetizers. The Japanese milk bread rolls were absolutely amazing! I read another review that compared them to Auntie Anne's pretzels. I'd add to that to say that these rolls were like a croissant and a pretzel were married together. They were light, flaky and fluffy with a little sea salt to enhance the flavor. The Mac n' cheese croquettes were crisp & crunchy on the outside and filled with melted cheesy macaroni. The dipping sauce had a nice little kick and tasted like a mix of sriracha and marinara. For dinner we ordered the tenderloin with chimichurri sauce and the Denver with the A5 steak sauce. Both steaks were cooked as requested and paired nicely with the sauces. We both preferred the chimichurri sauce. It was tangy, garlicky and had a nice amount of spice. I couldn't find the dessert menu but we had a maple dessert that was to die for. The maple was the star of the show but want too overpowering. We also had a fruit sorbet which was a little too tart so I only had a few bites. If you're looking to spend less, I'd recommend checking out A5 during their happy hour. Note that gratuity is included in the check. Overall, we enjoyed our evening at A5!

Yelp
I waited too long to share this review... One of our couple friends had recently been to A5 and described it as "life-changing". I was like, what? How? Really? So of course we needed to have our life changed as well, so we went. I called and made a reservation and detailed our friends experience while booking the reservation. That set the bar very high and when we arrived later in the week, they had not forgotten our high expectations. We were seating well and promptly ordered some drinks and a couple of starters. The menu had so many chalices and we seemed to have forgotten that we are not endlessly wealthy or that there is only so much one can eat. Of course we had to try the poutine and the namesake steak or our visit would have been wasted. Our server suggested that one A5 shared between us would be sufficient as it's quite rich. Seemed hard to believe for such a small amount of protein but it turned out to be wise advice. Everything we sampled was delicious. Interestingly, we were a good way into the poutine when I realized there was no gravy. When asked, the server was embarrassed and quickly resolved with another dish prepared perfectly. By then we were bordering on being stuffed but they insisted and it was delicious. The A5 was a unique experience all it's own. It was rich and delicious and not something you want too much of but it literally melts in your mouth and offers a unique taste you don't enjoy every day. Everything was cooked to perfection and we had immaculate service. The restaurant was packed but felt cozy not over done. This is one of several unique restaurants owned by this group and a notable Addi to the Denver dining scene. It's also on the high end as we spent close to 3 bills for two for dinner. Many of our friends have subsequently been and had similarly great experiences. I hope you do too!

Yelp
Have only been there for HH. And you should know that they have one of the best ones in Denver. Plan on making it your dinner, starting out with a great deal on the freshest of oysters, a shared salad, followed by their wagyu burger that will be one of the best you've ever had. Accompany the food with a great HH margarita or glass of wine for around $10 a pop, and while you and your partner will have spent around $100, including tax and a generous tip, you'll have had a very memorable and fun experience at about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of what you would have spent on a couple of full blown dinners (and you will have had a taste of what they normally offer at a deal of a price:). Sign me happily, David H(H) M.

Yelp
Yummy food and good service! We had drinks + aps and then both got our own entrees, so delicious and worth the price! Definitely a treat to come here. Was a bit worried as they do add a 20% gratuity automatically, but the staff was so kind and honestly exceeded my expectations, so we tipped a bit more. Would come back to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Highly recommend!
